Transfiguration Lesson One: TBA Professor Stewart is leaning against the front of the her desk waiting for the first student to arrive, a warm smile on her face. As per usual at exactly ten to two in the afternoon the door to the classroom is opened. Despite it being early December the room was warm and comfortable, welcoming. Decorates for the up coming holiday area already in place with a decorated tree standing in one corner, lights strung up around the ceiling and glittery snowflakes hanging about. Take a better look around and it's easy to see that even though Camilla might in a festive mood that the upcoming holiday has nothing to do with the days lesson. On each desk is an empty tank the only difference in them being the color of the lid. Two long tables are set up against the far wall, both covered by a long white sheet concealing the items beneath that vary in size and shape. Obviously whatever is under those sheets and the empty tanks on each desk have something to do with the days lesson. Written on the board beside the professor's desk in large letters is... Quote:
-Greetings and start of mini activity! -First set of questions! -Replies and second set of questions! -Replies and main activity! -End of lesson! OOC: Welcome to the first OOC Transfiguration of the term! Please keep in mind that this is NOT the students first lesson and they all should know the Rules. Class with start in about 24 hours! :D |
Hellloooo Although he had always had to work hard at transfiguration, it had always been a subject that the seventh year had liked and enjoyed. So, as lunch drew to a close the Hufflepuff had made his way towards the Transfiguration corridor, and then into the classroom that would be open as usual. Who knew if he was early enough and had the Professor to himself, maybe they’d even had a few minutes to talk? Maybe. Depended how much the other students were enjoying their lunch break. Stepping into the room first, Remy gave Professor Stewart an easy smile as he waved at her. ”Afternoon, Professor.” His eyes quickly glanced to the board, and then looked around the room before making his way over to a desk that currently held a deep green coloured tank. Setting his bag down on the floor next to the chair, he looked back over to the Professor. ”I should have my first essay for you either tonight or tomorrow.” Another grin, this one a little cheekier - he’d enjoyed the research and even the writing of the report -- but really he wanted to continue on his journey. |
An afternoon class was perfect, especially after lunch break because that meant she could sneak a power nap before attending the lesson. No need to wake up early, take a caffeinated drink to keep her awake and face the cold December morning weather. Well, if only every Professors in Hogwarts had afternoon lessons like this but clearly it was impossible. With a bright and smiley face, the Gryffindor headed to the sixth floor where the transfiguration classroom was located. She had taken her lunch and stole a little time to get a nap so she felt a nice and ready for the lessons. Transfiguration was one of the subject that she needed to ace on her NEWT because of the YATI requirements so she'd better do her best. "Hello Professor!" Ava greeted the woman as she entered the classroom. Oh well, she was kind of early, huh? "Hey, Remy!" She greeted the Hufflepuff boy. And what's with the empty tank on the desk? Were they going to transfigure that? |
"Afternoon Professor." Junia entered the classroom wearing a smile and curtsied in greeting. The fish tanks caught her eye and she raised an eyebrow thoughtfully before approaching a desk with one that had a very pretty seafoam colored lid. Yes, she'd be using that one for this lesson. After setting down her things and settling into her chair, her gaze shifted to the white sheet covering whatever it was they'd be working with. Would they be using Piscifors today, perhaps? Seemed likely. Honestly, that spell and others were fresh in her mind given all the studying she'd been doing lately. O.W.L preparation really was exhausting, did Professor Stewart know? |
Juni had a lot of energy this afternoon. After her lunch with a huge piece of cranberry pie. Perfect for the season. Hopefully she would work off some of this energy in her transfiguration lesson that she was heading to now. Or maybe the energy would work to her advantage today. She headed to the classroom. Passing the professor she smiled and waved. ”Good afternoon, Professor Stewart.” The Ravenclaw spotted the tanks. Mmmm fish? Maybe possibly. She picked up a hot pink colored lid, and tapped the glass. It seems okay to her. She liked bright colors, so this was perfect of her. Taking a seat at her desk, she sat the tank down in front her. What was under the sheets? Mmmmm. |
Sam gave a look of surprise as she entered the classroom, briefly wondering if she'd missed a memo about a class swap between Transfiguration and Care of Magical Creatures with the tanks on the tables. A glance at the front desk and seeing Professor Stewart there, however, showed that this was the class she was anticipating. "Good afternoon, Professor." And they were meant to choose their favourite tank colour? Huh. She glanced around the room, spying a dark purple one next to where Remy was already sat. That'd do! She slid onto the chair beside his, and smiled in greeting as she started unpacking her quill and parchment. "You got time for a spar in the next few days?" She'd had fun the previous time they'd trained. |
Kirk entered in for his next Transfiguration Lesson. He was happy to note that it wasn't too early for him as he was moderately alert entering in. "Hello, Professor." He greeted before his light blue eyes took in the sight of the many variety of coloured tanks. Curious as ever, the sixteen-year-old considered the possibilities on what they'll be doing today. Transfiguring pets to put in the tank? Transfiguring said tank into or out of something? His face was blank as ever, but he felt at ease enough to sit one row from the front where a lighter blue coloured tank was. |
Etta walked into the classroom, ready for her next lesson. The girl wasn’t a fan of afternoon lessons since she always felt sleepy after lunch but.. it was Transfiguration, a subject that she really enjoyed. “Hello, professor! Hope you’re doing well.” She greeted brightly with a smile, eyeing the fish tanks almost immediately. Now, what was that all about? She noticed Junia, grinning at her friend. It had been a while since they had properly talked, yeah? She took a seat next to her before pulling out her parchment and quills, waiting for class to move on. |
Miranda was sure to be on time to her Transfiguration lesson, in fact, she'd be early.. She was there waiting in the corridor outside the classroom when Professor Stewart opened the doors to permit them in.. " Good afternoon Professor..", she said with a warm smile. Yup, it was true... Professor Stewart was one of her favourite teachers here at Hogwarts.. As she moved into the classroom she notice all the different colored tanks that sat on each desk...and then the notice on the board.. Okay.. Purple.. Definitely purple... And down she sat and set up her things for the lesson.. |
The Gryffindor Ace smiled as he entered the room, Christmas decorations always made the mood more festive doenst it? "G'afternoon Professor Stewart." he greeted her brightly as his eyes trailed to the message written on the board. Oh! And now he notices the tanks on the desks. Pick a tank any tank "This one!" he murmured as he selected an intensely red-orangey tank. Fave color but of course. |
Walking into the room at a slower pace, since he had been near by the classroom studying, Patrick noticed the tanks sitting on the tables. "Afternoon Professor, hope you're having a lovely day." A few of the other students had walked in before him, but there were still plenty of seats for him to choose from. He took note of the color lids on the tanks wondering what exactly it was they were going to be transfiguring today. It never failed, that he felt as if he never progressed each time he stepped into the class room. After scanning the room again to see just where he wanted to sit, he picked a seat on the right side of the room. A green topped tank sat on the desk. He looked around hoping one of his friends might come by and sit beside him so he could have someone else to help him get the task done. For now though, he'd just enjoy the decorations in the classroom. |
Christmas was quickly approaching, and Maddie was OVERLY excited about the upcoming holidays. She half-bounced down the corridor and headed into the classroom. "Hello, Professor! Happy Upcoming Holidays!" she said. "Your decorations look supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!" It made Maddie want to celebrate Christmas day RIGHT NOW. The room was also full of neat little fish tanks, which Maddie made REALLY, SUPER excited now. It would almost be too hard for her to contain herself in today's lesson. She sat down next to a pretty PINK tank and looked over it, anxious to see what today's lesson had in store. There was also a super, shifty sheet in the classroom, which seemed to be a common theme in lots of the classes. Maddie wanted to go lift that sheet RIGHT NOWWWWW. |

So despite her exhaustion, the fifth had arrived to the Transfiguration classroom, eager and ready to see what today's lesson would begin. Fish tanks, it seemed? Some sort of animal transifguration perhaps? "Good afternoon, Professor," Sky greeted of the familiar brunette, grateful for her presence again. Was this her third year? It was a reassuring comfort to see professors returning; now all she needed was to get an Astronomy professor to stick around for more than a term . . . About to take a seat next to Junia, Sky instead took a seat by a first year boy she'd conversed with a couple times, which was randomly at a desk with a blue fish tank. "Hey Patrick." He didn't mind her seated here, right? |
She was ready for the lesson, but what else was new? There was never a time the Ravenclaw wasn't ready for this specific lesson, sick or not--but it was rather fortunate the bug she'd come down with had already long since left her system. She couldn't imagine having to suffer through a Transfiguration lesson. Sitting out the activity? Merlin just the thought was enough to make her cringe. "Hello Professor." Jessa chirped, practically skipping into the room. It was so festive in here. All the decorations around the castle were ringing in the holidays quite nicely and the Ravenclaw found herself impossibly excited to be heading home in another few weeks. At her table, she gave her attention to the tank. Oh? Would they be making something they could keep? Consider her VERY interested. |
Shay arrived for Transfiguration class in a curious mood. She was always curious about what the professors had planned for the lesson. As she entered the classroom, her curiosity was piqued even further. The first thing she noticed was the tanks on all of the desks. Were they transfiguring things into fish today? She wondered....... "Hello Professor", Shay said. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us today." Following the directions on the board, Shay found a desk with a pink tank and sat there. She unloaded her things and pulled out the necessary items for class. Finally, she was ready. Let the class begin. |
Christmas lights strung up and snowflakes. It was beautiful. The holidays had always been her favourite time of year. "Hello Professor Stewart!" greeted Vi to the Transfiguration Professor as she offered the woman a smile. "How are you?" Her eyes scanned the room and saw the multi-coloured tanks positioned on tables. Hmmm... What were they going to be doing today, hmm....? Transfiguring the tank or something in the tank? Hm..? She made her way further into the room, giving a quick smile to her friends, before choosing a purple (one of her favourite colours) tank that was close ish to her boyfriend. |

BOUNDING into the Transfiguration classroom, Derf had to take temporary pause when he saw the TANKS. His little Hufflepuff heart both POUNDING eagerly in his chest and also dropped into his stomach because CREATURES? But that meant ... transfiguring them? Derf...was not confident enough in his spell casting to risk that. He had tried one spell on a worm - thinking he had a shot considering they had so many hearts, you know? - but that had only resulted in a worm colored splotch on the wall that he had tried to clean up before Simon saw it. "Good day....professor," he greeted with loads of hair ruffling. Maybe...just MAYBE they were going to be transfiguring mundane objects into creatures? Like...something that STARTED out as a thing and then they transfigured into life...like a flower petal into a fish? Rather than...the other way around? Hold flaming salamanders his palms were sweating. Quote:

Of course there was the slight little detail about Transfiguration that bothered Stasya, but she’d decided that as long as it didn’t actually hurt the creatures, it wasn’t grounds to add the subject to her list of ones she was tempted to drop as soon as she was allowed to. Besides, she liked Professor Stewart, even before she had helped her bestie out by giving her a family that actually cared about her. Of course, that had definitely helped. Either way, it was a hopeful second year who had made her way to the classroom for the next lesson, if not the normal cheerful Stasya. Too much was still going on for her not to feel distracted, between the ongoing weirdness at school with the blood bird and the stuff at home that wasn’t known to a lot of people as far as she knew. She’d given Emmeline permission to tell Professor Stewart, but she didn’t know if she actually had. Either way, it was hard not to be cheered up by Christmas decorations, plus the anticipation of her baby brother being born any day now, so she had a smile on her face as she walked into the classroom. Yay decorations. The tanks had gotten her attention too, along with the mysterious sheet draped tables, and she’d made a beeline for a pink tank that hadn’t been claimed yet, waving at Derf as she passed him sitting by Juni. Oh, and there was the professor. “Hi Professor Stewart!” Now where was Emmeline? |

Christmas decorations were all over the castle, but in Emmeline's totally nonbiased opinion Cami's rooms looked the best ever, mhm. The second year bounced into the classroom, slightly winded from running up loads and loads of stairs to get here in plenty of time for the lesson. She'd been going down to the infant creature barn even MORE than usual ever since the blood bird had turned out to be made of rodent blood. Not that it was really easy to squeeze in extra trips just to see if the creatures were okay and still get to lessons on time at all. But alllll of the creatures were totally worth the extra effort and occasional lateness, mhm. She had never been late to Transfiguration for obvious reasons, even though it was super way too far from the grounds. Emmeline shot her guardian a biiiig smile and a "Hii, Professor," as she bounced past Cami and slid into her usual seat. Hopefully this lesson wouldn't be too hard and stuff... |
Vivian wasn't still quite sure if Transfiguration class was a subject she actually liked. But of course, she liked the Professor and that was probably plus points to it. Another thing was for sure, though: the blond still preferred Transfiguration to Charms. Sorry, Professor Marchand. Not that she didn't like him, though. The prefect entered the classroom with a smile on her face despite her lack of sleep from the night before. Thank Merlin for in-between nap time, though. She now appreciated the existence of such periods. "Good afternoon, Professor," Vivian greeted and spotted a nice pink one beside Olivia. She made her way to the desk and gave the Gryffindor a light nudge. "Hiii!" |
Felicity had avoided lunch that day, and was sure that her stomach was going to be growling by the time that the lesson was through. She trudged slowly to the classroom, her bag heavier than ever with the books she'd got from the library, and slipped in quietly. "Afternoon," she mumbled to Professor Stewart, before shuffling to a free desk in the back of the room. Where no one had yet sat. The lid was purple, but she barely noticed this as she sat. |
It was his last class of the day and Henry was in a great mood thinking about his plans for later. "Good afternoon, Professor!" he greeted her cheerfully with a grin as he walked in. He took a quick glance at the board, noting the instructions, before going to sit down. He didn't care that much about which color of lid on what appeared to be fish tanks, so he opted for his usual seat. And that tank just happened to have a green lid which worked just fine for him. Dropping his bag onto the floor next to him, he leaned back in his chair, daydreaming about his plans while he waited for class to begin. |
SPOILER!!: Individual Replies! At exactly two sharp, Professor Stewart pulled her wand from it's holster and gave it a silent wave towards the door. The door snapped shut nearly silently. The lesson was beginning. Anyone else that entered the room now would be considered late. "Good afternoon, everyone! I hope you're all doing well and ready to get started! I'm sure everyone's well aware of the tables over here and very curious as to what's beneath these sheets," she glanced around at them all before making her way over to one of the long tables. "So I won't keep you all guessing for very." With that she pulled the sheet off of the first table reveling what was underneath. "What I want you all to do is come up to this table and select one small bag of gravel, one fake colored plant and one of these little decorations. There are enough for everyone to take one." Camilla stood beside the table waiting for the students to select their items and return to their desks. "Now don't worry if color or certain plant you want is taken. You're welcome to ask a friend or older student to make a duplicate for you. I actually recommend this so that you have two plants and two decorations for your tank!." Camilla waved her wand at the board putting up the incantation and wand movement for the duplication spell. Quote:
OOC: Mini activity! Have your kid come on up to the table and collect one bag of gravel, one colored plant and one decoration! They can then either duplicate an item of someone else's or their own should they happen to really like what they took (so everyone should end up with two colored plants and two decorations! unless they really don't want two).... they also should set up their mini tanks. This can be done in one long post of several smaller ones if you like. I'll be moving on in about 48 hours! :D |
