| Term 47: September - December 2017 Term Forty-Seven: Drama on the Rise (Sept 2093 - June 2094) |

| | The Ravenclaw Nest Once you've solved the bronze knocker's riddle, you enter a circular, comfortable looking common room. The common room always has a well-lit and airy look about it, mostly due to the fact that the arched windows that are covering a large section of the walls, stretch from the floor and all the way up to the domed ceiling. The ceiling reflects the midnight blue carpet that's dotted with stars and spreads across the common room. Look closely and you might notice one or two of these stars twinkling at you, especially during the darker hours.
Everything from the walnut furniture to the blue and bronze silks that drape over the windows seem to scream Ravenclaw. Take a look outside of the window and you'll find yourself facing the most magnificent view that Hogwarts has to offer: the grounds stretch out as far as the eye can see, with the lake, Herbology greenhouses and Quidditch pitch meeting your eye. Meeting the lake is the Forbidden Forest itself and beyond the forest lies an excellent view of the surrounding mountains. Near the windows are blue window seats, large enough for two or three people to sit on.
Dotted around the common room are various objects you'd often find in your everyday common room. Soft chairs, armchairs and sofas are dotted here and there, some accompanied by a table or two. The softest of these pieces of seating furniture can be found near the fireplace on one side of the common room. The most notable and unique object that stands here is the statue of Rowena Ravenclaw who's standing between the two staircases leading up to the dormitories.
So come in and make yourselves comfortable while you're at it. This is your home, after all. |

| Open for anyone Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Thankfully with term having just begun, there was more time to settle into the comforts of home that Hogwarts provided away from home. Like the comfy common room that Cassie took in as she walked down the stairs from her dorm, Milo her familiar quick at her heels. It was relatively quiet and empty, a wide choice of available perches within the circular room. “Guess we’re one of the few without class or out exploring, eh Milo?” she mused aloud with the feline as she crossed to one of the chairs near a window. She was all for some sunlight, but was preferring to stay inside at the moment. Her companion seeming to wordlessly agree, jumping and curling up on her lap once she had settled down into it. A purr escaping as she scratched his head while staring out.

A purr escaping as she scratched his head while staring out. The term had just started but that didn't stop Hirsch from running between the Defence classrooms, his office and the Ravenclaw tower every now and then. There were always the little things cropping out that, it had turned out, he had forgotten to put in the Tower.
Today's items were a bunch of books including The Practical Uses of Charms in the Modern Household and something to do with recent UFO sightings. Seeing as he had no use for them, there was bound to be someone in the West Tower who needed - or wanted - them more than he did. It did, after all, give him a legitimate reason for climbing up six floors and answering the riddle the bronze knocker had given him.
At first glance, he thought that the common room was empty, which wasn't entirely surprising. It was lesson time, wasn't it? Most people should be in a class right about now and he doubted very much that any of his Ravenclaws would be skiving off just for the sake of their own interests. But, it was just as he had finished clambering into the common room, that a voice rang out. A small voice sitting near one of the large windows.
Huh.
Still holding onto the stack of books, Hirsch directed his feet towards the sixth year and her familiar, instead. Putting books away could wait, he had a question right about now. "You're not skiving off, are you? I'd hate to have you put you in detention so early on in the term." There was a cheeky grin on his face because he knew - and he bet that she did as well - that that wasn't going to happen.

There was a cheeky grin on his face because he knew - and he bet that she did as well - that that wasn't going to happen. The angle of the chair and her gaze out the window didn’t allow Cassie view of the common room entrance. However, she did notice the sound of someone entering but she didn’t readily think anything of it. There were, after all, plenty of people allowed access to the common room at any time so it stood to reason that there had been a good chance of not remaining alone there for the entirety of her stay. And when footsteps appeared to be drawing closer to her perch, Cass turned to find Hirsch there as the man presented his question to her which she was quick to answer.
Detention…not for her. “Oh no Professor,” she remarked with a shake of her head. “I wouldn’t dream of it.” And judging by the expression on the professor’s face, he didn’t really think she was one to do such a thing. “I managed to have a small break in my schedule.” She was, after all, not obliged to take all of the offered subjects. Taking notice of the books he possessed, Cassie straightened up attentive, Milo moving to the top of the chair in protest of her movement. “Do you need any help?”

That, right there, was exactly what every Professor wanted to hear. Even if he did know that she wasn't the type to get herself into trouble. It wasn't in her nature, was it? "I'm glad to hear it," he said, helping himself to a seat opposite hers. Might as well make himself comfortable while he was here. Unless he was intruding, putting the books away could wait.
A small break? "It must make a nice change to have some breaks in your timetable, especially after last year." It had been a while since he'd sat his OWL-level exams but he wasn't about to forget the stress of those anytime soon. "I'm not intruding, am I?" Because if that was the case, she should probably tell him sooner rather than later.
At her question, however, Hirsch glanced down at the pile of books in his hands, suddenly remembering the actual reason as to why he came here in the first place. "Well, that's up to you. I came across these books and thought I'd bring them up here in case there was someone in the Tower who would find them useful." He held up the topmost one, The Practical Uses of Charms in the Modern Household for her to see. "What do you think? Good enough for the library?"

Hogwarts RPG Name: Toddles | Anyone! ^^
Perhaps a smarts studentie in blue would know the answer to Toddle's question? Thus Toddles had to come prepared with cookies that were bigger than his eyes.
With a basket filled of freshly laundered sheets cradled in his arms and a basket filled with cookies floating in front of him, Toddles entered the Raven's nest. He levitated the basket of cookies to the nearest table and then freshly laundered sheets on the nearest chair. Then Toddles set about doing his house elfie duties, hoping that a student or someone would come by soon enough so Toddles wouldnst have to continue with his duties. Sweep. Sweep. Sweeeeeeeps.

Merlin what a good nap that had been. It wasn't often that the Ravenclaw opted to stay up in the Common Room enjoying an afternoon siesta--too much to do, you see--but she couldn't lie....that was not only fantastic but well deserved and well worth the time she no doubt lost on any of her experiments.
Jessa headed down the stairs, rubbing the last bits of sleep from her eyes when she caught the curious sight of a certain house elves and cookies. Ooo, wasn't this quite the way to wake up from a nap. "Hey Toddles." She chirped, skipping down the last few steps. As she got to the bottom, the young girl looked about the room in the hopes of spotting either Valko or Jahan but when her initial search turned up nothing, the 14 year old flopped onto the closest couch and levitated one of the cookies over. By now, the practice of seeing the elves bring cookies along for the students while they cleaned was common place; Jessa seldom asked before helping herself anymore--so long as they were delivered to the Common Room. Anywhere else around the castle and she'd have to think twice. "Need any help?" A silly question in truth as the elves seemed to freak when offered help but...she couldn't not ask. It was only polite.

It wasn't just any studentsie though, it was Miss Jessa!
" Hello Missus Jessa!" Toddles gave her a BIG SMILE and even so slowed his sweepsing so that Toddles could pay as much attention as possible to Miss Jessa who was MUCH MORE interesting than the silly chores he had to do. " If missus would like, she is welcomes too!" said Toddles with a nod. He slowed his sweepsing. " Though missus is always welcomes to sit and tells me things."

"Don't be silly, I'll help if you'll let me." Jessa replied, pulling her feet down and rising to them in one fluid motion. It wasn't everyday a House Elf kept their composure when being offered help and the young girl saw it equally as an opportunity to better some of her cleaning charms. "Where should I begin?"
The couch she'd been lounging in only seconds ago might have been a good start. She reached down to pull the cushions back into place, fluffing them as she did before finishing off the cookie. "Shame there's no milk." Her comment was a light one, her tone casual and carefree. Waking up from a nap tended to do that. It was much too soon after re-joining the conscious to have any worries or aches plaguing her. No, that would happen when she began her homework later on. "Not really sure what you'd like to tell you though. Seems like the regular crazies happening about the place. Have you heard anything worth mentioning?"
The House Elves got to all corners of the castle, surely he'd have something interesting to tell. They were a little like the portraits in that regard.
