| | The Quidditch Pitch Banner credit: Suziella The Pitch is home to the flying lessons at Hogwarts and is surrounded by the Stands. When Quidditch is hosted at Hogwarts, the Stands are decorated in the colors of the playing teams. When not in use, the Pitch is open for students and staff to practice their flying skills.
Want to set up a friendly game of Quidditch or Creaothceann? A quick chat with the flying instructor Mr. Baldvinsson, and he will grant you permission to the necessary equipment locked away in the Broomshed.
Usage of the Pitch is a privilege which can be revoked. Please play nicely, kids. If brooms or equipment have been borrowed, please handle with care if you wish to borrow them again.
Be safe, show sportsmanship and have fun!

| Felix/Abeeeey you wanna fite? | 💚 nickleback 💚 | Uh, anyway. Nimbus in hand, Julie was prepared and ready to start her private flying lessons with Abey. She was nowhere near competent but with the Gryffindors help she'd managed to actually get her broom off the ground (a huge feat, to be sure), but flying was still... a little ways down the line. The sun was warm, but waning. it was no longer midday and Julie made a mental note to be done with this day's session before true dark fell. She didn't want to end up having to sneak back to her dorm and chance being caught, it was too early in term for trouble, you know?
Leaning her broom carefully against her side, Julie reached up to once again secure her pony-tailed hair. The Slytherin could feel it now, the tension in her limbs and the jumble in her gut that meant excitement and anticipation. Hurry up, Abey.

| Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight When you were running late for something, and you had a broom right there in your hand, it only made SENSE to USE it to get to where you were going, right? Or at least, it did to Abey.
Maybe being late to meet a friend wasn't SUCH a big deal, but also maybe it was actually. But it was difficult; the grounds were so big and even though the Botros manor and its grounds were big they weren't as big as THIS. So, naturally, it was difficult to get back into the mindset of needing to leave a good twenty minutes at LEAST to get from the top of Gryffindor tower down to the edge of the grounds, especially when you weren't really very good at leaving enough time to get ready to go wherever it was you were going. AND ALSO ESPECIALLY when you were an Abey with a lot of stuff to try to remember and keep track of and also a propensity to get extra scatterbrained literally all of the time actually.
THE POINT BEING, of course, that Abey had been on the way to the Quidditch Pitch when he realised he wasn't going to make it on time. Sure, he could have been late and they would have lost a few minutes, but then he also didn't want to let a friend down EVEN JUST A LITTLE BIT so actually that wasn't an option.
When Abey finally arrived, he did so already on his broom, tips of his toes skimming the grass because it was fun, and looking flustered but happy enough (and maybe a little cold) as he sped across the pitch. "Julie!" he called to the familiar figure even as he approached at thrice his usual walking pace. Pulling up in front of her, Abey pulled his feet up so they rested on the bars (where they were supposed to), and hovered a few feet off the ground. "Sorry I'm late. Ready to fly?"

| you wanna fite? | 💚 nickleback 💚 | Uh, anyway. Julie wasn't an angry creature by nature (judgy and a little conceited sure, but not angry), even if she had been Julie doubted she would ever have managed to be angry at Abraham Botros Jr.
It was his face, she decided as the younger boy swooped in fantastically on his broom. He had such an innocent, kind face and such big honest eyes. It made it hard to think of him with anything but fondness. "Hey. She greeted, gripping her broom handle a little too tightly. There it was. the point of no return.
I mean, she could have backed out. Abey probably would have understood but Julie knew someone who wouldn't have understood. Her Pride. "Yeah, I'm ready." She wasn't. She swallowed a little but mounted her broom as carefully and as quickly as possible. Okay, she had this. Julie could do this. She'd already done it last term, and that meant something. The Slytherin glanced at Abey, a small and nervous smile spreading across her lips. "Okay..... Say when." Because otherwise the Slytherin would just sit there hovering a foot off the ground until the end of term. you can do it. You've done it before. You can do it. The mantra filled her head and her heart. She. Could. Do. This. If Cameron, Jessa, and Abey could? Then she could. She could. She could, and she would by next summer Julie would join Jessa and Cameron at Quidditch camp.
Julie's determination was much stronger than her fear of flying and as she waited for the signal she willed that drive to fill her up. She could do this, she was Julie Bellaire after all.

| *literal months later* Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight Abey didn't really need an answer from Julie, because he could already see with his own two actual eyes that she was, indeed, ready to get into the air. They'd worked on flying together a bit last term, enough that she'd been able to get off of the ground and, really, that was half of what flying was about anyway. Sort of. There was also the whole moving about and going up and down and around and left and right and controlling the broom in the air and landing and drifting and special moves and tight turns and dives and the 'finer points' sort of thing too, but it all STARTED with getting off the ground. So REALLY that part was actually the most important part actually. "I thought maybe today we could work on speeding up. We can stay as close to the ground as you want and practice getting used to controlling the broom at speed, and that way if big mistakes happen it's only a short fall." Not that it would really be much of a disaster, even from very high up, if the pitch had a cushioning charm on it like the one back in Alexandria did. "But really actually most mistakes can be corrected without falling anyway, especially the higher you are. But we'll work on going fast and high eventually."
While he'd been prattling on, Julie had been getting herself all sorted with the broom. He smiled a her, hopefully in an encouraging way but mostly his more enthusiastic smiles ended up being toothy grins that all looked the same. "Okay." He moved into position beside Julie, hovering on his broom. "We'll do a couple of laps first. You choose the height and speed, and I'll match it. Ready?"
... Wait, they'd gone over that a minute okay. She was ready. So... "When!"
