| | |  Stack of Barrels
 In a nook on the right-hand side of the basement corridor stands a large stack of barrels. To most students, such a sight might seem unimportant. However, to those who were sorted into Hufflepuff, these barrels are invaluable. Concealed behind one of these barrels is the entrance to their common room, which has not been seen by a student belonging to another house in over a thousand years.
Of course, anyone is welcome to access the sanctum of Helga Hufflepuff. You only need to tap the barrel two from the bottom, in the middle of the second row, in the rhythm of 'Helga Hufflepuff.' Any member of the loyal lady's house will be able to do this with their eyes closed and get the lid to swing open and expose a crawl-way, but anyone else will find them in a sticky situation. If the wrong lid is tapped or the rhythm done incorrectly, you will instantly be doused with vinegar and barred from accessing the common room. With that said, tap carefully.

First things first, Skylar needed to talk to her best friend. No, not Vivian Fairfield. She could talk to that girl pretty much anytime of day or night, but her childhood best friend. Her first friend. Her sister, who she completely betrayed. She'd already talked to Noah and well, it made sense next to speak to Hattie about the whole ordeal, which honestly, meant nothing.
So Skylar went to the stack of barrels that she knew to be the entrance to the Hufflepuff Common Room and waited. She had of course, sent a memo for Hattie to meet her here, so it wouldn't be a complete surprise. She also wasn't foolish enough to tap the barrels without a Hufflepuff present, as she'd done in her first year.

She might not have made such great other friends if she'd been in the same house as Sky.

She gave a half-smile at sight of the blond, thinking it probably was a good thing she didn't quite know the reason for the meeting. At least she got to see her best friend in good spirits for at least a minute or two. Could she dawdle and procrastinate? Except that would probably only make her more impatient and well, she just had to get it out and off her chest.

So Harriet HAD heard what she said after all and honestly, all Skylar wanted to do right now was run and hide and bury herself into her books. Because that's what Skylar Natasha Diggory did whenever she did something wrong; she read. And wrote. And read some more.
"Because I'm an idiot." Skylar said simply. Really, there was no other reason for it. "I do like Brent..." Ugh, it was so complicated and why couldn't she just put what she wanted to say into verbal words. Written words she was okay with, but saying things aloud? Emotions and feelings were complicated; why couldn't they go back to the days before feelings? "i'm ... I just I couldn't keep this from you." Because despite the betrayal, of both Hattie AND Flynn (in them promising to not say anything), she couldn't NOT say anything to her best friend. And now that it was out there, she regretted saying something, because some things were best left unspoken. Weren't they? Except this, this... would have weighed on her all year.
And now instead it would be weighing on her that Harriet Paton was probably going to defriend her. That her longest friend would probably not speak to her.
"I ... should ... go"
