If you know the password, or where the entrance is from the Secret Passage you can make your way through a portal in the stone wall of the dungeon and walk into the Slytherin common room also known as the Snake Pit.
The Slytherin common room is a long, low underground room with rough stone walls and ceiling, from which round, greenish lamps are hanging on chains. A fire is crackling under an elaborately carved mantelpiece ahead of you. The Slytherin emblem is everywhere you turn, as having a house pride is one of our strong qualities. Portraits of the infamous Salazar Slytherin, Professor Horace Slughorn and previous Head of Houses including the recently retired Mr Justin McLeod are aligned. It reminds students of what being a Slytherin means and allows them to share those feelings with others.
This is where Slytherin students are allowed to unwind and chat with one another. There is a room straight ahead that students may use as a quiet place to study and ask prefects and high scoring students questions. To the left, a corridor leads to the boys dormitories, and to the right leads to the girls dormitories. Beside each corridor is self inking quill and parchment with the words Attendo Thea Vipera on it. This is where you can leave a little information about yourself so your housemates can get to know you better.
Over the fireplace mantle is where the Slytherin trophies and plaques lay. In center is the Slytherin House Cup from last term's win. On the side of the fireplace is the notice board for announcements and open classes listed. Placed around the room there are four different Wizard Chess game boards. If you feel like playing better find a partner and see who can keep their pieces from getting smashed by the opposing team. The windows showcase the underwater where you can occasionally see the Giant Squid and other water creatures swim on by.
A podium stands to the side with a copy of Hogwarts a History, which is where you will learn that even though the whole dungeon had once been flooded, nothing was waterlogged or permanently damaged.
How was it already May? If Skylar was being honest, it felt like it was still September, when she had that talk with Flynn and somehow led to snogging him. While she was dating someone else. The weird thing was that she didn't even like Flynn in THAT way; yes he was one of her best friends, but that didn't mean she cared for snogging him. It didn't even make sense why she did it; not then and even less now. It was foolish almost and while it hadn't led to her breakup, it did maybe open her eyes.
To what, she was still not quite certain, but to something.
Of course, if Skylar was being honest again, she was GRATEFUL that this year was drawing to a close. All things considered, she never expected fifth year to be like this.
Curled up on the same couch she'd been back in September, the fifth year had her Herbology book propped against her thighs as she fought off the fatigue from too many late nights and early mornings. Soon she could sit for these exams that she'd been preparing for ages about.
Sigh.
It was a little breezy outside but it allowed her to let her mind just go wherever it wanted to go. Some places she didn't want it to go and even now walking back towards the Slytherin common room her mind was still racing. She just over thought so much about making friends and how to maintain a friendship. No fourteen year old should be thinking about things like this but Anastasie was because it was just in her nature.
The redhead wanted into the common with her mind still racing, she looked around to see if Skylar was here, she needed someone to talk to and it was either her loser brother or Skylar. She prefered talking to Skylar about this because she knew that her brother would start asking questions about why she was thinking about his. Her green eyes looked around for Skylar, it didn't take long for Ana to find her.
The third year smiled and walked over towards her. "Hey!" Ana said in her usual cheerful voice.

It was probably perfect timing for someone to interrupt her, as Skylar was on the verge of closing her eyes and drifting off. It was at the cheerful hey, where the fifth year's eyes flicked open as she glanced for sound of the voice, expecting it to be Iliana or Vivian or one of her other dormmates. No, no, instead it was the younger Kowalski?? Huh? Well, she was sitting on the couch, but no, she was not going to be snogging this Kowalski. Of course, she hadn't planned to snog the other one either.
Sitting up straighter and re-adjusting her textbook, she glanced down at it a moment, zeroing in on the words. Huh, she didn't remember reading that chapter. Perhaps she HAD zoned out after all.
Another glance up at the third year, the brunette smile at the younger Snake. "Hey Ana. Everything okay?" She hadn't been looking for her, had she? Because she was only really two places these days when she wasn't in class: The library and the common room. The latter proving more common, because she can catch a few zzz's so it was a double whammy.
