While she was talking, Bonsai took that exact moment to come over and leap up onto the desk, shoving his head into Cami's hand wanting attention. With a soft laugh she gently rubbed her cats head giving him a good scratch between the ears as she let Miranda speak.

"As is the way with most that want to look deeper into this training. I like hearing that a lot of reading has happened before coming to me though, it shows dedication and a sense of being prepared." Both very good things. "Depending on what path you choose to take once you graduate this ability can be incredibly useful. Do you know what you would like to do yet?" Some fifth years already knew and others didn't. No harm done in asking.

Ah, this was tough. Not all parents wanted to allow their children the permission to attempt something as dangerous as this. "Well if that's the case what we can do is have myself, your head of house, Healer Reed (she still wasn't used to calling him Professor Reed), and the Headmistress sign first. With all of our signatures that could be helpful. I can also offer to speak with them both should they request that so they are fully aware of everything that training contains."

Camilla paused for a moment to think before speaking again. "If their are really adamant about you not training though there really isn't much more than that I can do. Sadly you might have to wait until you're of age." Hopefully it wouldn't come down to that but one could never know how a parent would react.

The night was silent, aside from the usual sounds of the castle and the few nocturnal creatures that resided there. Nearly as silent was the figure who murmured a soft charm and slipped into the office, the last evidence being the disappearance of a fuzzy pink slipper through the doorway before the door had been closed behind it. Once inside, the unfocused gaze of the tall-for-her-age blonde in the unicorn pajamas flickered around the room as if she was deciding where to start. The object of her search was probably not lying on the cat climbing structures, so those were disregarded as Stasya made her way further into the office.

Grey-green eyes that seemed even more grey in the moonlight traveled over the shelves of books and other odds and ends until they found what they were looking for. Her hand darted forward and grabbed the compass, before she replaced it with a red envelope. The Howler was definitely not the compass that disappeared into her fist, but she turned from the spot as if it was, slipping back out into the corridor. Somehow she knew where she was supposed to go next, and she neglected to close the office door entirely before she disappeared into the dark corridors again.

It wasn't until just before breakfast that Camilla Stewart made her way to her office with Bonsai at her heels. The days lesson plans had been left in a locked drawer in her desk and she needed to collect them before she began her first lesson after breakfast. Upon reaching the door to her office the first thing she noticed was that it was opened slightly. Well that was strange. She never left her door open, not unless she was inside the room, otherwise it was always kept locked. Had she somehow forgotten to lock it the night before? No, no she was very much sure she hadn't.

With just a slight hint of confusion but no hesitation what-so-ever, Cami pushed the door to her office open the rest of the way and stepped inside. Bonsai slipped past her, his tail flicking back and forth as he made his way over to her desk and leaped up to sit on it like he normally did. Deep brown eyes swept across the room more than just once looking for anything that might have been out of place, only there was nothing at all to be found. All her keepsakes from her travels were in place, no books were missing. Everything appeared to be as it should be.

Moving around her desk, the Transfiguration professor pulled out her chair and sat down unlocking one of the draws to the desk and pulling out the days lesson plans. It was just as she was setting those parchments on the desk in front of her that she noticed it. A red envelope. A Howler? Who would send her a Howler? Camilla frowned and reached to pick the envelope up to see just what all this was about, her eyes drifting to the exact spot once more as if realizing what was missing. Her compass. Where was it? The very one she had gotten for a gift and had been using on her trips. It had been right there on her desk where she occasionally left it at night.

What was going on?

The moment the red enveloped was touched, it grew hot before bursting into flames and screaming the message that it had been tasked to deliver:

"THOSE WHO STRUGGLE DO NOT HAVE CHARMS TO GUIDE THEM.
TAKE A MOMENT TO RECONSIDER YOUR POSITION BECAUSE
YOUR MORAL COMPASS NEEDS TWEAKING, DEARIE."
The smoke emitting from the flames took the form of a winged bird. Soon the embers died out, cluttering the desk with ash and leaving nothing else behind besides a memory of the threatening message and a stolen compass.

Thankfully Camilla was one that knew what a Howler was and dropped the envelope onto her desk the very second it began to grow hot. Camilla quickly swiped her arm across the top of her desk keeping any parchments (her lesson plans) from catching aflame as the screaming message began. The loudness of it was enough to cause her to flinch involuntarily, Bonsai let out a startled meow and darted off of her desk and up onto one of the high cat towers. Poor cat.

What?! Her moral compass needing tweaking? Cami blinked in confusion before the message began to somewhat sink in. The compass she had gotten as a gift was missing but whoever took it clearly meant something deeper by their words. She needed to speak with Regina about this.

Rising to her feet and leaving everything where it was she crossed the room and scooped up Bonsai taking him with her. On her way out she locked the door to her office and headed to the Headmistress' office.
