The caboose of the Hogwarts Express is the designated spot for everyone's belongings -- from trunks to broomsticks to caged pets, it is all stored here while the train is moving full speed ahead. If you do not want to be sitting in an overly stuffed compartment, handing over your bulky items would be a wise decision. It can be guaranteed that your belongings are 100% safe here and will not be destroyed or harmed in any way.
To have your belongings stowed away here, simply grab a number of tags, write your name on them, and stick them so that everything is returned to you with ease. Once everything is labelled, go ahead and place whatever it is you wish to keep here in the designated areas of the luggage car. Trunks are to be stacked along the back; brooms and small bags are to be placed above on the racks; and pets need to be set along the side. If you need help, ask for assistance or make use of a simple Levitation Charm. Lastly, don't forget to collect you stuff at your journey's end.

It was finally happening. She'd made it through the remainder of the feast the night before--found yet another means of occupying herself once those 'festivities' were over--and now she was depositing her trunk in the luggage compartment for the long ride back to London.
Was it just her or did this year feel particularly long? All she wanted to do was go find her friends and allow herself to relax for what might have been the first time in nearly a month.
Jessa yanked the trunk behind her, coming to a stop at the door. Had to find the right place to put her trunk otherwise she'd have to wait an eternity on the platform for hers to be fished out. This wasn't to say she was in tremendous haste to leave once she got back to London (had to do final goodbyes with her friends and all) but she'd still rather having to avoid it if she could.
Hmmm...
Maybe over here....?

The year was over before she knew it, and while the first part certainly dragged on for longer than it needed to, the last half went by quicker than she realized. Not wanted to dwell on the shenanigans and drama that the year brought, Althea was excited that summer was approaching. She could relax--for a bit--and hang out with her brothers and her girlfriend (hopefully.) And while her father had made it a point to remind her that she would be working for him over the summer, she wasn't too bothered by it.
Still, before all of that would even occur, she'd have to get through the train ride first. Thankfully she and Levi had long put aside their differences--for the most part--so the risk of having another Kenning-style-verbal-brawl on the train was very slim. If Declan were here, he'd have already deposited her trunk for her but the perks of growing up, right? While manuevering around, trunk behind her, Althea made her way to the luggage compartment, ready to drop her things and go find something comfortable to sit. She didn't expect to see anyone worth talking to when she arrived, but she'd spotted Jessa and didn't want to head home without at least chatting with her first.

"Don't tell me there isn't any space left."
"No, there's plenty. I reckon I'm just being picky."
Her tone was distracted as she surveyed the remaining space in the luggage compartment. Perhaps shoving around a few things might help...or...if she placed hers atop that one there...--hang on. She knew that voice. Quite suddenly, blue eyes moved from the stacks and stacks of trunks to the direction the voice had come from. At the same time, a smile danced lazily across her face. "Fancy running into you before we hit London." Jessa assumed someone like Althea would have long ago found her friends and probably gotten someone to take the trunk here for her.
"I don't want this getting buried, otherwise it'll be a right awful pain waiting to get it when we hit the station."
She looked to the older girl, she was pretty smart and all. "I don't suppose you know any charms that'd keep it hopping to the top any time someone else comes in to drop their trunk off after we leave--I suppose I could animate it, wouldn't be too hard," Not when she'd spent so much time perfecting thr charm on undead birds but, "Chances of something going wrong after I leave it here would be minimal, yeah?"

The response was very Jessa-like, and Althea only replied with a short bout of laughter. She kept watching as Jessa looked around the compartment; leave it to the younger girl to be methodical about finding a spot for her trunk. "I do like to grace everyone's presence every now and then." While she'd said this in jest, there was a small part of her that really believed this to be true.
"Oh, well that would definitely pose a problem." She'd had her fair share of moments where it took forever to retrieve her trunk. Oh. Now that was a very clever idea. "Actually, I do think that would work. It's not like the train ride will be super long anyway." Even though it certainly felt that way at times. "I wonder if you can actually animate it to come to you when the ride is over with." She'd never done something like that before, but it seemed entirely possible.

"You'll have to grace mine a whole lot more next term before you leave, snacks in the kitchen and all that." Because while she DID have the girl for the coming term, it didn't escape her that after that, much like a few others she'd grown fond of, she wouldn't have her anymore. Were she of a more dramatic nature like a few other Cambridges she could mention, Jessa may have started pitching a fit right now--make use of the time and all that--but as it stood, the Ravenclaw was much too practical and could settle instead for making plans.
The more she thought about it, was the more she liked the idea. "Might as well get in the last bits of magic before returning to the summer dry spell too." She wasn't 12 anymore and was quite proficient with spells and control but she still wasn't 17 no matter how proficient and that was the real shame here. Her line of defense would probably never hold up against ministry inquisition.
"That's an inspired idea though.....we'd just have to get the intent right." It could have been tricky getting the trunks to come to them at the end of the ride but hmmm....."What if.........we use a motion trigger? The train won't stop til it hits London......." She mused allowed, now serious considering the options. "If we.....animated it to.....hmmm, go through the window there when the movement around it stops, might have a chance--of course with the unsuspecting people waiting on the platfrom...could get messy." HMMMMMM.
