GIRLS ONLY! STAY OUT, POTTER AND WEASLEY! The funny inscription etched on this door with a potions knife reminds us all of the great deeds Harry Potter and his friends performed in this very bathroom. Today it is fortunately no longer nearly as shifty as it used to be. Nevertheless, this bathroom is still haunted by the one and only Moaning Myrtle and, if you happen to speak Parseltongue, can gain access to an empty Chamber of Secrets.
If you are ever in need of extra toilet paper or a towel dispenser needs to be restocked, there is a small cupboard across from the sinks containing all of the bathroom necessities you could ever need. Do the caretaker a favour and keep this restroom clean and in tact. The toilets should only be used for, well, your bathroom business -- not for brewing advanced potions. And please try not to upset Myrtle in any way so she doesn't burst into a loud fit of crying and wailing and decide to flood the bathroom and the corridor outside for the millionth time. Be nice to her, even if you must lie.
Myrtle was feeling lonely. Why was no one here to visit her? "Oh THAT'S RIGHT!!!! I forgot no one likes to talk to mopey, sad Myrtle.'' A LOUD wail escaped her. The ghost wailed and wailed which eventually led to her diving into her usual toilet. Water splashed all around.
She realised lurking in the U Bend was something she didn't want to be doing right there and then. Myrtle soared upwards. Seconds later water was sploshing again. "I HATE BEING LONELY!!!!!"
Anyone who happened to be on that floor at present could hear her miserable tantrum.

Olivia had been on her way to the suits of armor to spend some time over in one of her favourite parts of the castle when she heard a terrifying SHOUT? LONELY? And did that yell come from the girl's bathroom? Sure, she had heard of people wailing and of the infamous Moaning Myrtle.... but shouting? That seemed a little odd.
So the Gryffindor decided to do what Gryffindors do best. Explore the noise, she must. Thus the brunette opened the door to find puddles of water on the floor. "Hello? Are you okay?" she asked as she took several steps forward and then found herself slipping on the wet tiles. "Woah!" she cried. She ought to have expected this, knowing her bad luck with uneven surfaces and just with moving her own two feet. Walking sometimes could prove difficult. Fortunately she was able to catch herself on the edge of the bathroom sink. Phew. That was lucky. The brunette turned around from the mirror. "Hello?" she called once more, not knowing the source of the shrill yell before.

The last time Skylar was in this bathroom was about a year and a half ago, when she was on the hunt with Brent and Kane for the poltergeists. And to be honest, if it wasn't for the shouting, she might have forgotten all about Myrtle. But something about the shouting of I hate being lonely, had pulled the fifth year to go check on the rather emotional, but sweet ghost. And it also made her feel guilty for avoiding the bathroom completely last year.
Opening the door, she blinked at the sight ... puddles and a Gryffindor standing awkwardly at the bathroom sink. Huh? Was that not Myrtle's shouts? No, it was, Skylar was fairly certain that was not Olivia screaming or making a mess on the floor.
"Olivia? Is everything okay?" She treaded carefully across the bathroom floor towards the sink to join the older girl.

It seemed as if everything was alright. No person.... Just puddles of water. Perhaps there was a plumbing problem or something?
Then Olivia NEARLY jumped (okay so she did jump... a little) when she heard the door open. She raised a hand to her collarbone and turned around to find Skylar there. "Skylar. Hey!" she said with a relieved smile to see the She-Snake and not Peeves or someone else. Vi was also glad that she wasn't alone in case if something or the someone that had yelled came after her. At least with two of them, if it was SOMETHING bad, then maybe they would have more of a fighting chance together.
She nodded. "Yeah, I'm alright.. I didn't scream. I'm not sure who did..." She wanted to clarify that for she definitely wasn't lonely and things were going really well at the moment for her. Olivia also didn't want Skylar to be worried about her. "I heard this screaming and came in to investigate. I just found puddles of water everywhere... Did you hear the scream too?"

Oops, she really ought to NOT scare people when she approached? Apparently after fifteen years it was something she was still working on. But fortunately it was only for a moment and Olivia didn't seem upset or anything.
Okay, so she didn't scream, which actually was something that Skylar almost knew it wasn't her older friend. But she had to just confirm this to make sure. "Yea, I know who did... that was Myrtle. I've heard her screaming before, but not in a couple years... I just hope everything's okay." The fifth year she-snake paused before crossing over to the stalls to knock on the doors.
"She's just ... she's sweet, but it's only September. Peeves was probably torturing her earlier or something." She shrugged and then turned to glance at the lioness suddenly. Olivia was older and in a different house, which meant she could help her on one of missions this term, yes? More variety? Plus it wasn't like Olivia didn't know her dormmate, as Sky was sure she'd seen them conversing on more than one occasion, most recently on the train when Olivia briefly conversed with both of them.
"Olivia? Can I ... talk to you about something?" she bit her lip, feeling suddenly nervous. She had been thinking about this all train ride and then again throughout the feast, yet she hadn't told a soul about this mission, so to voice it now, honestly, Skylar felt shy suddenly. Which was a very strange feeling indeed.

Myrtle? Moaning Myrtle? Which floor was Olivia on again? After a while, the corridors started to blend together for her. First.... Second. Ah. Well that did make sense. "Me too..." nodded Vi. A thought crossed her mind that maybe Skylar knew the answer to. "Sky... Do you know what happened to her last time she screamed?" she asked, wondering if possibly the same reason could have made the ghost scream again. Or maybe it was boy trouble or something? But who...? Vi began wracking her brains to find a possible answer.
Then as Skylar said that perhaps it was Peeves torturing her, Vi nodded and sighed. Classic Peeves. Always up to his no good shenanigans. She still remembered her run in with him from her fourth year. And Myrtle was sweet..? Vi blinked and smiled softly as she listened to Skylar speak about the ghost. It seemed as if Skylar had a good opinion of Myrtle. "Maybe something happened over the summer?"
She was about to call out to Myrtle again to see if the ghost was okay when Skylar asked her if they could talk about something. She blinked for a second, wondering what was up and then noticed that Skylar looked kind of... nervous? So the Lioness offered her friend an easy going smile. "Sure! What's up?" she asked. Was it boy trouble.... If it was boy trouble, she wondered why she would be going to her about it seeing as Skylar had much more experience in that department. She had a boyfriend. Olivia...? It was complicated. Maybe it was something else? It was probably something else.

Oh good, they reached a consensus about it being Myrtle it seemed, even if Olivia hadn't really had any contact with the bathroom ghost before. Huh, how strange, considering the Gryffindor was a year older, but she guessed maybe parts of the castle could be avoided at student's discretions ... Blinking at the older girl's question though, she tried for a moment to wrack her brain, yet for some reason all that came to her mind was him. Or maybe that wasn't so strange after all. "I ... don't know," she bit her lip, trying to recall what happened.
"She's just ... sensitive. The summer was probably a reminder for her that she was all alone, no one to check in on her," she shrugged, glancing between the stall and the lion. Wishing there was more she could do to help.
Oh good, Olivia agreed. Well agreed to hear her out, not yet on the mission yet, because she hadn't actually agreed. "Perfect. Okay, well, you see, I like hanging out with Brent," Of course she did. She was kind of dating him, "But I always feel guilty when I do, because I feel like I'm abandoning Vivian. And I feel awkward, as I'm sure she does, of having her tag along with us... So I kind of want to find her a boyfriend this year. And I was wondering if you could keep an eye for me and help me with this mission?" Please, please, say yes? Also, she had no idea really why she'd enlisted Olivia for help; Ava or Noelle might have made more sense, but somehow it seemed as if Olivia might have been closer to Vivian and knowing Vivian was key to this mission. "Also, we gotta keep it hush from Vivi, can't let her know we're on the hunt, okay?"

Sensitive? Olivia blinked. Then it hit her. The ghost was sensitive just like them... Myrtle was an entirely different story to Peeves, right? Or maybe Peeves felt the same way and just hid his emotions or something? She had no clue about Peeves but her heart went out to Myrtle. Her heart dropped when Skylar said that Myrtle was probably here all by herself for the duration of the summer. At Hogwarts without the bustling crowds that must have felt so.... so weird.. Vi couldn't imagine being at the castle without other people around. She would surely go mad.
She almost chuckled but stopped herself when Skylar said that she enjoyed hanging out with Brent. They were dating after all and she would HOPE that Skylar enjoyed hanging out with her boyfriend; otherwise, perhaps a different talk was needed at this time. Then the dilemma appeared. Ohhhh. Vivian was the third wheel and Skylar felt guilty about it.... Or she was abandoning Vivian... So the fix was to find Vivian a boyfriend? Well wait a second that didn't seem like a good idea..... Yes, at first, Olivia was hesitant.. Finding someone else a boyfriend seemed a little funny but this was for the good of Vivian, right? Plus it could also be fun. She was in. For Vivian. "Okay, I'm in. I really like Vivi and I want the best for her. So count me in," she said with a smile before nodding. "Mum's the word. My lips are sealed." She'd just keep an eye open to it all.
Now Olivia was curious. Eyebrows raised. "Have you found any potential friends for our dear friend?" she asked.

Welp. When you gotta go, you gotta go.
Business waits for nobody. Well, at least it didn't wait for Zoryn. Which was rude, but understandable.
The Gryffindor did her thing, as one often does, and as she was pulling her skirt back up she noticed how bare the stall's walls were. Sooooooooooooo of course she thought to liven them up a little bit.

Could it be? Someone had heard her and actually came in to talk? Myrtle was still hiding out miserably in her cubicle but her heart (so to speak) soared. "HEL-" Another visitor? Myrtle heard another voice. How exciting. TWO VISITORS!
They were talking about her. The stupid little poltergeist had not bothered her. Myrtle had made sure to steer clear of him of recent. Myrtle started to float out of her cubicle. RUDE. THAT WAS RUDE. They were supposed to be talking ABOUT and TO her not about stupid boyfriends.
Myrtle burst through the cubicle door. "I'm SO sorry to interrupt your important boyfriend talk!!!! How INSENSITIVE you are talking about having friends and boyfriends when I have neither.'' Myrtle began to sob dramatically as she hovered before the girls.

Hurries her semi-long legs towards the bathroom, Stephanie walked into the surprisingly empty place. Usually the place was filled with girls cutting class, and gossiping their youths away. They didn't worry about the important stuff, to make their brains grow and all. Steph never really paid much attention to what gossip was being said back and forth. Heading into a stall and doing what she had to, the redhead sighed happily.
Finishing up and whatnot, Steph noticed something written on the wall. Raising a brow, she couldn't decipher who the initials belonged to. Taking a marker out of her bag, Steph drew an arrow from the initials to an open space and wrote:
"WHOS DAT?"
Because clearly there were just too many people in this school to know.

Engrossed in her conversation with Olivia, while simultaneously hoping Myrtle would show and was alright, Skylar had actually momentarily forgot about the bathroom ghost. When Olivia agreed though to her little mission, Sky was about to hug her, when all of a sudden, before she could answer the question about potential friends, Myrtle finally made her presence known. Dramatically at that.
Oops? But hey, she got her out of the stall, which was actually the purpose here, so totally NOT insensitive at all. "Myrtle! Hi, No, no, we were just talking to get you out from hiding........." Sky quickly said. Boyfriend talk with Olivia can wait; she had some corrections to manage. Now how to say this without hurting the SENSITIVE and TOUCHY ghost's feelings? Because throwing a question back at her was probably not the best idea.
"I can be your friend, but friends don't keep friends waiting who are saying HELLO...I visited you a couple years ago, but sadly wasn't able to be by here last year, you remember, don't you?" And she was pleasant then, she hoped at least. But she was also in here with two guys, and looking for information, so perhaps that wasn't the best example? Then again, Hermione Granger a century ago often visited with two guys, so maybe it was okay.

As it turns out, sweet relief only ever lasts temporarily and there comes a time in a young girl's life where she's gotta go once again. At last, the circle of the life. Or maybe just the circle of the digestive system. Either way, Zoryn was back to attend to business once again.
After she finished, the Gryffindor once again took a look at her artwork and got ready to go wash her hands before doing a double take at the realization that there was an addition to her beautiful piece? OMG. This was like real-time reddit or something!!! Bouncing on her heals, the Gryffindor pulled out another marker and drew an arrow from where the latest addition had been made to an empty spot just below.
Quote:
LEVI KENNING AND ZORYN SPINNET, DUH
also, while she was here... She took out a different marker and found another empty space to add something else.
Quote:
OMG i can't believe Professor Myers is married to a tree. He's so WEIRD!!
Soooooooooo maybe that wasn't entirely true. But It felt like an innocent enough rumor to spread and Zoryn needed some more spice in her life. So y'know, what's the harm? The third year took a step back to admire her handy work before quickly walking out, washing her hands, and heading to class.

Vi had almost forgotten the purpose of her visit to the second floor bathroom when she had been talking with Skylar about helping out Vivian. Then all of a sudden the quiet, calm atmosphere of the bathroom had been interrupted and Myrtle had appeared. So this was Myrtle? Olivia blinked. She had never seen her before. She had had stories, of course but never had officially met her. But instead of introducing herself to the ghost straightaway, she paused, realizing that this was perhaps not the best time for such a thing. "Boyfriend? Oh no.. I don't..." Sure, she was dating someone but boyfriend? Erm... Erm.. Vi felt extremely awkward. Not yet....
And then the ghost began sobbing. Olivia felt REALLY REALLY REALLY awkward now. Vi reached her hand out towards the ghost but then paused. She didn't know what she should do to help in such a situation. It wasn't like she could exactly reach out and comfort the ghost..... She looked to Skylar for insight and then followed Skylar's lead with addressing the ghost and making sure not to bring up the boyfriend stuff. Planning for Vivian could wait. In the meantime, maybe they could help Myrtle out.
"I'm sorry... We didn't mean to be rude to you... We both heard you crying out in here and we wanted to see if you were alright which is why we came in here," she said with a nod. "No one should be alone." It was an awful fate and it had been something that had scared her when she was a small child. Being alone for the rest of her life and only knowing people on an acquaintance level and not truly knowing anyone.... That was terrifying. "I'd like to be your friend too, Myrtle." She offered the ghost a smile at that point.
“DON’T YOU LIE TO ME!!!” Myrtle howled. She glared at both girls especially the Slytherin. That one had started talk of boyfriends. Poor Myrtle had no boyfriends. Harry Potter was the closest thing to one and that had been years ago. Handsome Harry Potter.
“I do remember.’’ Myrtle grudgingly admitted to it. “Really? You came to check on me?’’ Myrtle was all smiles and joy. Her dramatics seemed to happen so long ago. “We can be friends. I WOULD LIKE THAT because no one ever wants to be friends with me.’’

OH good, Olivia had gotten the memo about the shift in conversation, because Myrtle was one hundred percent their focus here. Also, was it her imagination or was Olivia playing around to mess with Myrtle about the 'i don't...' because Skylar was almost positive she'd seen something between her and the Gryffindor Prefect. Or well, actually, she had no idea. She didn't talk to Olivia enough to know, but she DID see them in classes and around the castle.
BUT the outburst from the ghost though did catch Skylar off guard and pulled her thoughts away from Olivia and back at the ghost. Was it that obvious that she was lying? Merlin, she had to work on this game clearly. And then the tempo changed; Myrtle REMEMBERED her!! "Of course, yes, I came to check on you. I do have a full course load plus many extracurriculars, but you're always in my thoughts." Surely as a former Ravenclaw, she could appreciate when one put their studies first. "Would it help if I tried to visit here after Arithmancy classes?" It would be most convenient and last thing she wanted was an emotionally sensitive ghost on her bad side.
She offered a comforting smile as well.

Vi froze as Myrtle howled once more at her and Skylar. Well it seemed as if it was mostly directed to Skylar but a good fraction of it still was directed at her. She couldn't help but shiver slightly at it. It was as if spider or something was crawling down her back really slowly and just making the hairs on her skin stand up.
The Gryffindor remained silent watching the ghost's temperament change like a wave crashing upon the sandy beach. One moment upset, the next... happy? Smiles and all. Merlin. She just nodded and offered the ghost a smile, letting Skylar and Myrtle have their much needed reunion. "People are silly," offered Olivia with a nod. Then she added with a genuine smile, "And if people don't wish to be friends with you, then they are missing out." Vi had to learn this the hard way at Beauxbatons... She had gotten into a group of friends that weren't really 'her' people. They didn't really care about her. They just cared about appearances. When Olivia tried to be herself, they didn't like it so the young Gryffindor had turned herself inside out and more to try to fit in. Then one day, she decided it wasn't worth it anymore and tried to be herself. This time it worked and she met people that accepted her for who she was. And the people that didn't? As she mentioned to the ghost earlier, they weren't worth it in her eyes.
Bouncing on her heals, the Gryffindor pulled out another marker and drew an arrow from where the latest addition had been made to an empty spot just below.
also, while she was here... She took out a different marker and found another empty space to add something else.
Soooooooooo maybe that wasn't entirely true. But It felt like an innocent enough rumor to spread and Zoryn needed some more spice in her life. So y'know, what's the harm? The third year took a step back to admire her handy work before quickly walking out, washing her hands, and heading to class.
Stephanie didn't have to use the loo this time. She was mostly just curious as to what was written back. If anything for that matter. Walking back into the way too familiar bathroom, the redhead tied up her hair as always; but into a bun this time. The gossip stall was currently occupied but some older girl, but dear merlin she needed to hurry up. Why couldn't she just got to another stall to do her business? The bathroom was fairly empty and she just had to pick that stall.
After waiting what seemed an eternity, Steph slid into a stall herself just as the girl was exiting. She accidentally let out a loud groan when she noticed. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" She exclaimed, setting her feet up on a toilet seat so she wouldn't be properly discovered. The girl can just think there was a new ghost in the loo. Hearing the faucet open and close, plus footsteps heading out, Steph carefully set her feet back down on the ground and walked out the stall. Handy marker in hand, the ginger headed into the gossip stall.
Quote:
"But didn't he lose the tournament last term? IS HE REALLY GREAT AT ALL? AND WHO IN MERLIN'S BEARD IS ZORYN. MORE LIKE SNORING."
Steph quietly giggled to herself. Hopefully no one would recognize her sloppy handwriting, for she used her left hand to scribble on the stall wall. Her now drew cute little stars around Myers' name because HELLO HEAD OF HOUSE. GREATEST HEAD OF HOUSE, REALLY.
Quote:
'IF IT'S THE WHOMPING WILLOW, THAT'S TOTALLY AWESOME!'
Because honestly, it was. After she was done, Steph zoomed off to her common room.

"you're always in my thoughts." Myrtle was all of a sudden full of suspicion. No one had ever been this nice to her. Was this some sort of a distraction to stop her being dramatic. A trick devised to poke fun at her? "Are you saying this to trick me? BECAUSE IF YOU ARE YOU BOTH WILL PAY!!!!!!'' Myrtles lower lip trembled. She was ready to start wailing again. "You both can visit anytime if you're not tricking me. Just DON'T talk of boyfriends.''
