Tristan asked Zoryn to meet him just outside the barn to serve her detention. He was leaning against the barn door, arms crossed, with a not so happy look on his face. This was the first detention he had to give this term and he was very determined to teach this young girl a lesson.
Tristan looked down at his watch to check the time. She had about 5 minutes to get here or she would be at risk of losing more points.
Let the Games begin!

Zoryn still had five minutes to get down to the barn and boy was she taking her time. Detention wasn't a super big deal anyways, at least she didn't think so. It'd probably be like having her own private lesson, except for Professor W would probably be grumpier than normal 'cause probably didn't wanna take his free time to do more teaching.
Z marched down to the grounds (still with 2 minutes left) and finally arrived in front of the angry man with one minute to spare. "Yooooooooo, what's up Professor W!?!?"
They were just a couple of buds being bros on a fine day outside.
Detention, shhhhmention.

Two minutes to spare. She was cutting it close, but as long as she was here on time it was fine.
It amazed Tristan just how much she really didn't seem to care that she had detention, which told him she wasn't going to take this seriously. He grinned to himself, deciding that he was definitely going to make her task harder than she expected.
"Zoryn," He said with a curt nod and no smile. He was not happy with her and he wasn't going to allow her to think he was. "I hope you are ready to do some work." She was going to be stinking to high heaven by the time they were done. The thought made him really want to smile, instead his lips only twitched a little.

Zoryn wasn't worried about this at all tbh. After Professor W had gotten all of his yelling out earlier, he'd probably be way too tired for this detention anyways. It was a sign of getting older and having a mid-life crisis. Zoryn had looked this stuff up. Mood swings were normal and fatigue was even MORE normal. So, Zoryn was gonna take it easy on him today. He'd definitely appreciate it, she was sure.
"Actually, Sir. With all due respect, I was hoping we could just skip all that stuff and call it in early," she nodded confidently.
AND she even made it look like SHE was the one hoping, when really Zoryn was doing the favor for HIM.
We all knew Hogwart's had ghosts, but who knew they had angels too!?!?!

HA! HAHAHAHAHAHA! She thought he was going to just sit around and talk with her after the stunt she pulled? That was hilarious. He really wanted to laugh in her face for that comment. Her task was becoming even more hilarious to him by the minute, but he made sure that his face didn't give away his amusement.
"I am sure you were hoping that, Zoryn, but you can hope as much as you want. Doesn't mean it's going to happen." He pushed himself off of the barn door then pushed it open. "If you would please hand me your wand, then put your hands in your pockets, do not remove them until I tell you to, and enter the barn." He put his hand out for her wand and waited patiently. What she would be doing wouldn't require a wand.
Oh, sweet vengeance.

Was it still worth a shot? Of course it was.
The worst thing he could say was no. And he did. Which wasn't exactly ideal, but Zoryn would just have to find another way to weasel out of the task. It was one of her talents, weaseling out of things. She'd find a way within the constraints of the detention.
Her facial expression didn't falter UNTIL he said she needed to give up her wand. "Sorry, Sir. My mum says I should never give away my wand." And Zoryn always listened to her mother. Also, how come he wanted her wand anyways? Zor was NOT about to give that away. It was her most PRIZED possession. She had worked SO hard to get the right one!!! Why the heck would she give it to a man who probably hated her at the current moment!??!
Nice try, Sir. Nice try.
But she wasn't falling for it.

Tristan could tell she was going to try and weasel her way out of this detention and it wasn't going to happen. He would sit here all day and watch her until it was done.
Of course. An excuse for everything. Good thing he had a solution if such an issue where to occur. "I'm not keeping it from you. I just don't want you using it while doing your task. You will have to work the muggle way. No magic." He paused and took a deep breath, pointing to a leather pouch on a beam that ran down to the floor. "If you would rather put it in that leather pouch up there yourself, which is where I was going to put it, that is fine as long as it is put away there where you can't use it and it's not on you. Plus, the risk of it getting broken in here is pretty high. I don't think your mum would be too happy if it got broken." He also didn't want her trying anything. But that was another issue all on it's own.
He waited patiently for her to put her wand away. If she didn't...well...there would be more consequences.

"Doesn't make sense that I got to give it up. I won't use magic, Professor. 'Sides, if I did use magic you'd see it so what's the point of even trying?" SEE, she was definitely cut out to be a Ravenclaw. It didn't make any sense that Professor W had to take her wand, what if she just PROMISED not to use it? Couldn't they just do that instead. She didn't trust him with her most prized possession... No offense.
Still, she knew better than to sit here and argue 'cause apparently he was still SUPER grumpy. AND she didn't want to break her wand!!!!! Read: Most prized possession. "What am I gonna do that'll break it?" Z was curious.
And on that note, she went to put her wand away in that pouch, albeit, reluctantly.

Tristan really didn't feel like arguing with Zoryn today, so he was really happy when she made the conscious decision to put her wand in a safe spot.
Now it came down to her task. He pulled out a shovel, and handed it to her. "Your detention task is to scoop the poop from all of the winged horses stalls. There are 20 winged horses, which means there are 20 stalls. I have moved them all from their stalls for their daily flying time, so you don't have to worry about maneuvering around them. Each stall will fill the wheelbarrow once for the Aethonans and Granians, and twice for the Abraxans. There is a pile of manure just outside the back door. If you need help pushing the wheelbarrow, let me know. But the scooping is all you." He was sure he was going to get a lot of protesting but he wasn't going to put up with it.
"Any questions....about your task?" He added that last bit in because he knew if he wasn't specific she would be asking questions he didn't feel like answering. If she didn't have any he was going to take a seat somewhere out of the way. Maybe he would be able to get some good reading in.

Well basically Professor Wayland just ignored everything she said, and Zoryn was not happy about it. R u d e. With that in mind, she only halfway listened to her instructions for the detention and waited sorta-patiently for the man to finish talking.
Blah. Blah. Blaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
“Sounds inefficient, Sir. If you really want all the poop to be cleaned up, we should probably grab some more people to help. It’ll take me FOREVER to clean 20 stalls and since you’re a super busy man and I’m a SUPER busy and important girl, it’d be kinda dumb to waste that kind of time,” she explained.
“I’ll go get some people from next door in the greenhouses.” Hopefully Derf was nearby, ‘cause he loved animal secretions. Mhm.
Ah, the point? Why yes, it's right over her head.
