Once you've given The Fat Lady the correct password, you'll enter the Gryffindor common room. On one side of the room is the game room; on the other are the study tables. At the back of the room are two spiral staircases leading to the dormitories: boys to the left, girls to the right. Two lion statues sit on either side of each staircase. Don't forget to give them a pat before heading to bed; you're sure to get a roar or a purr in return!
The circular space is decorated in the signature Gryffindor colors of scarlet and gold, and there are plenty of plush armchairs, sofas, and beanbags for lounging. The room's most prominent feature is a fireplace; over its mantel hangs a portrait of a lion. A large portrait of the house's founder Godric Gryffindor adorns the back wall. Several other tapestries and paintings depicting animals and famous Gryffindor alumni decorate the walls - who knows? You may even find some of the famous Harry Potter himself! There's also a plaque and a bulletin board on one side of the room. Don't forget to read up on important announcements!
this room is your home away from home during your time heare at Hogwarts. So, relax, take a load off!
Start-of-term Party starts here!
School may have started, but summer is still going strong in the Gryffindor common room! The entire room has been transformed into a tropical paradise.
The sofas and armchairs have been replaced with benches made from surfboards and stools in the shapes of tiki heads, and the floor has become a sandy beach. Several palm trees and flowering tropical plants decorate the room, and there's a row of mermaid fountains that play music as a hidden machine fills the room with bubbles. A swimming pool sits at one end of the room while a cabana at the other end serves delicious tropical fruit smoothies. If you ask nicely, a house elf will whip one up for you!
(OOC: This party will last about 2 weeks OOC. (around May 20). I'll post at the end to close things out.)

The party had officially started once Professor Marchand gave his welcomes. Shay joined in the applause for the prefects and the fabulous job they did in preparing the party. Then it seemed that some of her housemates were going to change into "beach party" clothes. Noelle went off to change and was back so fast, Shay was sure that there had been some magic involved.
When Ava agreed that partying was indeed a Gryffindor thing. Shay laughed. "Well it looks like I have found a home ", she replied. She looked around at all of the fun being had and it felt good. She really did feel like she had found a home. Now, if she could just get to meet more of her housemates.
Shay's head nodded at the idea of Ava showing her the dorm. "Oh I hope so too", she said. It would really be nice to share a room with the two girls. They had been so kind to her and they both seemed really cool. Shay was looking forward to getting to know them better.

Hmm? Char noticed the elf and exclaimed a little. "Oh Im sorry Algamus! But you don't need to sweep the water, we can vanish it later, on and oh, see? Professor Marchand has it under control. You don't have to work! Come swim instead! Char invited. Did house elves swim???
Char looked at Noelle when the other girl spoke to her and smiled. "Definitely fun but it would be more fun if you got in with me! All of you!" Yeah! Come on!

Daniel was just standing there minding his own business, wondering what was the best thing to do when suddenly, he was hit by a jet stream of water, now where did that come from.
He turned around and saw that it had come from a prefect, well now... he hoped the Prefect knew what he was letting himself in for.
"Prepare for war!" Daniel laughed as he picked up a water squirter and send a jet of water at both prefects, yeah if one started on you surely the other was fair game.
He then had a great idea, but he would wait for the Professor to get a little bit closer to the pool.

Oh…yay it was Gryffindor party time. Why didn’t she feel thrilled? What was wrong with the fifth years had that she didn’t want to be here, in the common room with her friends that she hadn’t seen in ages? ”Hey Noelle! We must catch up later maybe have a girls weekend soon?” she offered with a grin…she’d missed her but wait! Was that a pop!
HOUSE ELVES!
She wanted to hug them.
Mel walked right past her best friend after giving him a quick smile after the lei-ing and quickly stopping by Argyle and Tinka. ”Hi Argyle! Hi Tinka! How are you guys?” the Gryffindor girl asked a big grin on her face. ”I have something for you guys, for all of the house elves,” she spoke as she reached into her pocket and put a similar tin to the one she had given Levi and Sammy to the house elves. ”there are boxes little ones for all of you guys in there that you can store things in – oh…oh and food, I made you guys some treats to say thank you for everything.” Mel grinned at the house elves as she placed the gift before them.
THEN she looked over to Matt when he walked in. ”Heeeeeeeeeeeey my partner in crime!” she grinned over so Solo and then walked closer to him. ”this is pretty neat…and weird right? A pool in the seventh floor? I wonder if anyone below us is getting flooded” she half asked and half hoped it was happening…wouldn’t that be funny oh wait no that would be bad! Their friends would be WET and get sick and she didn’t want that not in the least.
It was when Tenacius was aiming at Matt that she felt it. Water. EVERYWHERE….oh man this was…messy and possibly a way to have a good laugh. Looking around she spotted just how drenched Sammy seemed to be. ”Hey Sammy want met to help?” Mel asked as she indicated her head toward their mutual friend and Sammy’s cousin.

Noelle glanced down at Char as she was told to join her. She giggled. "Give me two minutes/" Heading over to Shay and Ava, she grabbed their wrists and started pulling towards the pool. Even if they were fully clothed and all. " Come swim!" If she had a third hand, she'd pull Mel with her, but alas. "Come on Mel! Lets go swimming!"
Everyone! Swim!
Noelle grinned, watching Ace squirt water at people and the Professor getting into it as well. She glanced over at Levi and Aslan, both looking deep into their conversation, maybe she could persuade them to come into the pool as well.
Tenacius' aim was less than true, and thankfully so. Aslan didn't mind getting wet, but a face full of water wasn't exactly a pleasant experience. She stepped a little to the side, away from the fireplace and closer to Levi to avoid the blue splashes of warmed pool water.
she briefly considered changing, but decided against it. She wouldn't be here much longer, and sleep was certainly still calling her. Without a word Aslan bent down, her curtain of dark hair hiding her face, and picked up Levi's flip-flop. she stood upright, and with a mostly impassive face she wiggled the shoe just a little. The accidentally didn't go unnoticed by the brunette, nor did Levi's fair minded manner. Both were decidedly interesting enough to keep her attention. "Yes, he is doing alright, isn't he..." Aslan mused, tucking back her wayward hair. her lips curved into a tiny smirk. "We won't be waiting long, it's already getting..... " Yellow, she wanted to say yellow and orange but doubted, very sincerely that Levi would understand what she meant by that. to be quite fair, she didn't know exactly ether.
The pause carried for a bit longer as Aslan considered her next words with care. Yellow, Orange- Loud, obnoxious, playful- No, more of the-
"Cautionary." she said, it wasn't all that the colors triggered in her mind, but it would suffice. "Are you going into the pool?" Aslan had completely forgotten she was holding the sixth-year's shoe.
Her choice of words wasn't lost and he chuckled into his goblet before finishing his drink. He looked back at Ace, Noelle, Kettleburn and the rest and considered the possibilities. He could stay there chatting with Aslan about Professor Marchand's potential troubles as their head of the house. Or he could go into the pool and leave the focusing on more importantthings part for tomorrow.
The term had barely even started, anyway.
So, pool time for him it was.
Alternatively, he could also go into the pool and take Aslan's with him. She had, after all, being kind enough to pick up his shoe.
Levi looked at her mane of her, his shoe in her hand and her current attire. He stood up, stretched, tugged on the hems of his shirt for a second before removing it. "I might. Maybe." The shirt was discarded over to his previously occupied chair along with his other flip flop. He wiggled his toes. "Actually, I am, obviously." Naked chest and all.
..."Are you against the idea of going in?" His grin was wide enough to offer his dimples for show. "Or would you prefer to stand there with my flip flop? They're acceptable good company, don't get me wrong, but--" He shrugged, perfectly innocent. "We can do better than that."

Izzy was milling around the crowd, keeping her head low and observing. The small amounts of mischief were fun to watch but he was still itching to do something more... diabolical. Her eyes roved over the sixth year boy and the seventh year girl, having seen them around the common room on enough occasions to know who they are but not quite know them personally. Her lips curved into a smile as she considered the possibilities. The girl, Aslan or whatever her name was, clearly wasn't dressed for a pool party. Izzy decided she should at least be scolded for that, and she had the perfect way to do it.
So she made her way to the girl, drink in her hand. She stopped behind the girl, the pool near them both, her eyes twinkling from excitement but her face clean of emotion. As swiftly as she could, Izzy set her drink down on a table, pushed Aslan with both hands and tipped her over the edge and into the pool.

More people had arrived now. Miss Dalgaard-Volkova, Miss Sorin-Ward, and Miss Way each got a hello from the new Head of House. Miss Evans and Mr. Kenning did not go unnoticed, and the pair received a polite nod in their direction. After all, they seemed engrossed in conversation, and he didn't want to interrupt.
Gaston couldn't help but laugh as he watched Mr. Moore jumping around and going on about climbing a mountain. "You most certainly did!" he said, smiling at the first year. "Here's a reward for your valiant effort..." He picked up a flower crown and placed it atop the boy's head like a laurel wreath. Blink, blink. His expression changed at what he said next. "Robin Hood's ghost?" It took him a moment to register who the boy was talking about. "Oh you mean Sir Nicholas? I suppose he does look a little like Robin Hood..." Not that he'd ever tell the ghost that, of course. His eyes darted around the room. "I don't know where he is." Probably somewhere socializing with the other house ghosts...
The professor nodded in agreement at what Miss Kettleburn said to the house elf (Algamus), smiling at both of them. "Yes, i'll take care of it," he said. "Please enjoy yourselves." He beamed at Mr. Salander when he gave Miss Dalgaard-Volkova a flower crown and a water squirter, and another even bigger beam for Miss Morrison as he overheard her say she'd found a home. Her words may not have been meant for him, but they still touched his heart nonetheless.
Then the handbuzzer happened. "Thank you, Miss Burton," Gaston replied when the girl said she'd keep his advice in mind, though he was a bit skeptical that she'd actually do it. Oh well, no time to think about that right now. There was a water fight going on! It wasn't long until he was drenched with a jet of water courtesy of Mr. Salander. He clutched at his chest and staggered back dramatically, pretending to be injured, but he was laughing as he returned fire, first aiming back at the male prefect, then into a random group of students.
But his laughter faded as he overheard his name mentioned in Mr. Kenning and Miss Evans's conversation. Whatever they were saying about him, he doubted it was anything good. But if that shook his confidence, Miss Swynford's humph and Miss Dalgaard-Volkova's widening eyes derailed it. He snuck away from the chaos, ordered a coconut pineapple banana smoothie, and sat at a stool near the smoothie shack. He absentmindedly stirred his drink with his straw, aimlessly watching Miss Summers and a few of the other girls join Miss Kettleburn at the pool as his feelings of self-doubt returned. What was he thinking?! He'd never win these kids over, no matter what he did! He inwardly berated himself for even caring what they thought of him at all. His father was right... he was a weak, pathetic shrinking violet.

So her yearmates and housemates and friends and practically everyone was joining her! That was how it should be! She waved at Levi and Aslan too, gesturing them over before noticing their new head of house going off to one side. Nowww why was he being all anti-social? Wasn't this party for him too?
Dripping wet, Char got out of the pool and half pranced, half skipped over to Professor Marchand.
"Aren't you going to join us too, professor?! You don't want to be a spoil sport, right? Come swim with us!" He was supposed to be one of them, wasn't he? Well he had a chance to prove it now!

Yes, she supposed Levi Kenning was aesthetically pleasing. His features were symmetrical and pleasant and the broadness of his dark shoulders was... notable moreso when he took off his shirt, however, Aslan was not the kind to let something like physical attraction slink in and dizzy her already-generally-busy mind, however, there was nothing unsettling about casually observing the Gryffindor's form. Casually, she allowed her eyes to flicker for the briefest moment to his shirtless-chest. "Yes, obviously." Aslan said in agreement, head tilting to right.
Against the idea? No, she swam often. In private and in public and although the urge was there to dip in, she was also more than eager to slip into her fourposter. She paused, considering the shortest route to answering Levi's question and in that brief bit of time two things happened which caught and kept her attention.
1. Professor Manchard had dejectedly swept away from the festivities and was stooped low over a smoothie with his back to the student body (a dangerous and misguided stance in Aslan's opinion).
And 2.

Aslan Evans was not graceful. You could have asked anyone and they would have told you that while intimidating and clumsy did not often go together in the case of this Romany witch they did just so. The push was all it took, with Levi's flipflop still in hand and a sharp gasp Aslan fell head first into the Gryffindor pool. For a moment there was only grey as the sounds of the party were muffled by the water and her eyes blinked furiously, trying to become used to this new and sudden environment. Her hair was everywhere, a floating brown cloud amidst the clear pool water and the flip flop? Sunk to the bottom.
She kicked up, or tried t, it wasn't easy with her boots and clothes still on. Aslan tugged at her robes the sleeves sticking-
Frustrated beyond frustrated, Aslan tore at her sleeves until they too sunk to the bottom leaving her only in the whit dress shirt and gryffindor skirt she had worn beneath. With a huff and a heave she breached the surface, looking and feeling- every bit like a half-drowned cat.
Argyle noticed Tinka pop into the common room with her, nodding at her purple-eyed companion at her presence. Two elves were better than one. Nodding too at professeer as she was reported in by the other elf. “Argyle here to help,” she confirmed,” make…smoothies,” Argyle added as the man gave his instructions to the two of them. “Professeer welcome.”
Oh look…student master wanted something. Head tilted as the student didn’t give specific request. “All is the best…stuff.” Or she’d punish herself for doing it wrong. Uh huh. Argyle proceeded to make the boy a mango-orange smoothie from the supplies present at the makeshift bar, handing it over once she was done. . “Here…smoothie for Master Student.”
“Hello Mistress…” Argyle said returning the greeting. “Argyle is well.” As for the Gryffindor having something for her, the house-elf looked quite curious about it. “Mistress give…gift to Argyle?” The tin box in her long fingers an answer to her question. She was used to the custom of gifts over her years in the castle but it still caught her a little off guard when it happened. “Thank you, Mistress.” The house-elf returning to her duties once the fifth year moved on, trying to avoid the water being splashed around.

SPLASH!!
First, Professor Marchand sent a jet of water toward her and now Noelle dragged her and Shay to the pool. Now Ava was completely soaked and she's still in her school robes! Eh, but that's okay. She still had another set for tomorrow's school day. They were meant to have fun before they were being burdened with schoolwork. Their head of house had prepared it for them and she appreciated his hard work.
But that man somehow became such a killjoy. Ah, seriously.
Taking her wand out, Ava cast Aguamenti towards him. It also for a revenge earlier. Hehe.

Gaston sat with his back to the students, lost in his sad thoughts. Occasionally he would look up and watch the students having fun or Argyle and the other house elves making smoothies for the students. He gave the elves an appreciative nod in acknowledgement before turning his attention back to his drink. He twirled the little colored umbrella as his thoughts wandered back to that fight he'd had with his father; the happy party noises did nothing to drown out the harsh words echoing in his mind.
He sighed; he just wanted to be alone now! The thought crossed his mind to end the party early, but he decided against it. That would only earn him more disapproval, and he'd had enough of that for one lifetime. He was about to leave Miss Summers and Mr. Salander in charge of the festivities and sneak out the door when Miss Kettleburn came up to him. He couldn't help but smile a little at the way she was prancing and skipping, but that smile turned into a laugh when she mentioned him being a spoil sport. "No, we can't have that, can we, Miss kettleburn?" he replied.
As sad and nervous as Gaston was, he didn't have the heart to turn down the girl's invitation. And besides, he was already wet from the water fight, so there was no harm in joining the students in the pool. He rose from his seat, but before he could follow Miss Kettleburn, someone (Ava) sent a jet of water at him while his back was turned. Who did that?! He wheeled around, wand drawn, his blue eyes searching the room for the culprit. Since he couldn't be sure who it was that splashed him, he settled for sending an aquamenti spell into a group of random students.
The professor approached the edge of the pool just in time to see Miss Evans getting pushed in. He sighed, giving Miss Way a slightly disapproving look. He knew it was all in fun, but really, you could hurt somebody doing that! Well, he should've known it was only a matter of time before that happened... "Merlin's beard! Are you okay, Miss Evans?" he asked, eyeing the girl with concern as she surfaced.

If I could take that second chance, If I could make my life anew, If only dreams came true...
If he'd not been so focused on Aslan, Levi would have probably noticed the younger student roaming in the background with less than honorable intentions. Or completely honorable intentions in the name of FUN! itself, depending on who you asked. But by the time the girl whose name escaped him (or maybe he'd never known it) despite being familiar enough had shown up, and before Levi could offer a perfectly friendly, albeit puzzled smile, she'd gone on and done the deed. And Aslan had taken his flip flop into the water with her.
Levi gaped, unsure if he was allowed to laugh or snort.
In the end, he did a combination of both which he tried to mask by coughing into his fist. Professor Marchand didn't sound particularly pleased, so the boy continued to cough until his amusement was weak enough to be hidden, for the most part, by total surprise. Though before he did so, he did manage to send a crooked grin Miss Way's...way. Ha.
"Good party, Professor Marchand." Levi was being genuine, too, even if he hadn't participated on the water fight or had yet to go into the pool. "Do you ever wish the summer was longer? I never did before, but this summer--it could have used some extra weeks, at least."
He approached the end of the pool, offered a clearly disgruntled Aslan a hand. "Thanks for bathing the flip flop, they needed it. Do you need help?"
Rhibear ~ Madam Solo ~ Dark Brooding Girl ~ Accio Jedi ~ Gryffinclaw ~ Just a doll
Gaston was about to offer Miss Evans a hand out of the pool, but Mr. Kenning beat him to it. The chivalrous gesture earned the boy a very appreciative smile from the professor. His smile only grew wider at what was said next. "Thank you, Mr. Kenning," he replied. "I'm glad you're enjoying yourself." It was nice to know his efforts were being appreciated.. though to be fair, the prefects had done most of the work.
Mr. Kenning's question made his smile vanish. The boy had no idea... If he had his way the summer never would've ended at all! Then he could've stayed with the love of his life and never again have to endure the disapproval of staff or students. Granted, he cared about all his students, even the ones who didn't care for him, but he wasn't quite ready to come back to feeling alone and despised. "I understand, and yes, I've felt that way myself sometimes."
The party raged on, and after a while, Gaston checked his watch. Merlin's beard! Was that the time? It was a lot later than he thought. He clapped his hands to get the students' attention. "Attention, please!" he waited a moment or two for quiet before going on, "Well, this had been fun, but I'm afraid it's time to call it a night. You all have classes tomorrow..." Himself included. "So good night, and here's to the start of a pleasant term!" Or so he hoped. And with that, the professor slipped back out the portrait hole and left the students to get ready for bed.

The blonde had not been spending nearly enough time in her common room... or her dorm for that matter, but really that was no one's business. And if she liked her dormmates she likely would have spent more time there. ALAS! She couldn't have it all, else she would have perfect hair, nails, teeth, and an unlimited supply of chocolate.
Why was life so hard?!
With a heavy sigh to beat all heavy sighs, the girl plopped onto the sofa and put her feet on the table in front of it. Was it possible that she could sit and stare at the fire in her pyjamas and fuzzy slippers and not be bothered?
The likelihood was pretty slim, really. Also, she kind of didn't mind. It was all part of being a Gryffindor, right? Hehe.

Zoryn was HOME AT LAST, with SO much energy.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And of course, AS ALWAYS, there wasn't really much to do. So she just planned on checking the common room to see if there was anyone around to bother to hang out with. Plan B was to go to another Professor's office and ask them loads of questions... But Professor Creatures still hadn't recovered from their last rondevu and she was sure her Head of House had had enough to.
Fortunately for school staff, Dora Umbridge was around!!! Zoryn watched as the older Gryffindor settled onto the sofa, before skipping towards her and and sat down on the very table right across from her. Hi Dora's feet, hi!
"You look tired," she pointed out.
HEHEHEHEHEHE.
HEY.

Opening one eye just let one corner of her mouth lift upward ever so slightly. "Maybe a little bit. You sure don't. " Even her hair seemed to crackle with energy. Heh.
"Who have you been harassing lately?" Because shE surely had been, no? And she could move to she it WITH Dora instead of at her feet. Did she know that?

HEHEHEHEH.
Radiating energy.
Zoryn liked that one. Could she keep it?
"I'm not," she BEAMED at the older Gryffindor. Not even one bit tired, ma'am! "I took a nap in muggle studies so I wouldn't be tired for the rest of the day." It was also a power move.
At Dora's question, Zoryn FROWNED. Hey. She was not harassing ANYONE. But the frown quickly faded into a proud grin because really it was something to be very proud of. "Mostly Professors and some of the chumps from that other magic school." Hehehe. Speaking of which, "You're my favorite competitor." It was a little bit of flattery, but also mostly true. Next to Levi of course, 'cause that dreamy hunk of a wizard was also Gryffindor. Zoryn had more than just a little admiration to go around, okay?

Obvious child was obvious. Heh.
"I noticed," she said with a light laugh. It was, as she had previously thought, pretty damn obvious, really. "Muggle Studies isn't THAT bad. Can figure out some useful information sometimes." Not often, but sometimes. Dora preferred the more practical lessons... the ones who taught them MAGIC.
"They're all chumps." Except maybe that Aurora girl. Dora liked her alright. She was the only one who didn't seem like a loud, obnoxious piece of work. Hmph. "Which professors though? I hope Hirsch was one of them." No love lost there either, to be honest. Not that that was a particularly popular opinion. Not that many of her opinions seemed to be popular lately... or ever.
FAVORITE? Dora felt like that was a bit of a stretch, and she let her face show it. But only with a slightly raised eyebrow. "I don't believe you, but I am flattered nonetheless." And she was flattered for sure. And disbelieving. Heh. "So has your term been going well? I noticed you haven't gotten detention yet. I am slightly disappointed in that."

Was it being obvious or was it being helpful? HMMMMMM???
For the record, it was totally the latter.
Zoryn gave the older Gryffindor an over-dramatic shrug. "For you maybe, but I'm not gonna need muggle stuff when I'm a famous actress," she explained. She was gonna go into WIZARD show-business. Or she'd just have a butler to take care of the muggle stuff. Either way, she wasn't gonna mess with it. "Kinda dumb to do muggle stuff when you've got magic, don't you think?"Duuuuuuuuuuuuh. It'd be SUCH a waste of energy. Dora should know. She was using all sorts of magic for the IMPS. It'd be a total waste of time to do any of the challenges without it, plus she'd come in dead last. And then she DEFINITELy wouldn't be Zoryn's favorite competitor.
Totally inconvenient.
HEHeheheh. "American chumps," she giggled obnoxiously. Was she overdoing it? ALWAYS. And as for the matter of bothering her Professors... "All of them! No Professors left behind," that'd be rude. And Zoryn was many things but she was not-- well, never intentionally anyway. "How come? Do you hate him or something? Was he mean to you?" Professor H was the bestest one in Zoryn's opinion. Didn't even call her out for cheating in the last lesson or anything. What a honorable man.
MHM. Yes. Favorite. Ish. Her face fell ONLY slightly when Dora voiced her disbelief "That's fair," she shrugged. What? It was. "I'm untouchable," she explained. "I'm too cute to get a detention," SHE BATTED HER EYELASHES LOADS. See? C U T E. "Have you ever gotten detention?" She was curious.

Definitely the former, thank you VERY much.
"I plan to work in the Wizarding World, also, Zoryn. It is still a good idea to learn these things... especially if you ever get CAST as a Muggle in a play or film. How would you correctly portray the character if you know nothing about them?" Or fit in when she wanted some coffee and was in London proper or something? "And it is crucial to be well rounded."
She sounded like a professor... or a parent right now.
Definitely wasn't overdoing it. Dora even found herself laughing lightly along with the younger lion. It was kind of contagious, wasn't it? "I wish this thing would end so they could hop in their little car and go back where they belong," she added with a snort.
No seriously. GO AWAY ALREADY.
"Glad to hear that you are making sure to spread the love, so to speak. Heh." She really liked this girl. Liked her spunk. "I am not exactly his biggest fan. And yes, I think he was rude. And has continued to be so," she added softly. And that hurt all the more because she used to favor him over all others... now she held the Groundskeeper and Professor Golden Greek God in high regard. Shame of shames, really. Hirsch was once a great teacher for her.
A frown had dropped her lips slightly as she thought more about the man... but she shook herself from that as quickly as possible. "Well no one is untouchable, kiddo. You have to learn to not get caught because someone sometime is not going to be exactly keen on you." It happened to the best of them.
SCOFF! "Nope. Like I said, I never get caught. I even had to return a boy's wand to his Head of House once... and didn't even get in trouble. And he ended up in the hospital wing." GRIIIIIIIN!

”Well maybe but TWO YEARS is long enough to learn all I need to about muggles,” she nodded matter-of-factly. Plus, Professor Marchand probably wouldn’t let her drop the class until next year, since they were more than halfway done with the term. ‘Cause he was TOTALLY gonna let her drop it. He seemed like a reasonable man. Way more reasonable than Professor Crazyreatures. ”’Sides, I’m plenty well rounded. I can do THIS,” she proclaimed, jumping up from her seat on the table and doing a cartwheel in the middle of the common room.
See, well rounded.
Now back to sitting. Mhm. ”How come you don’t like ‘em?” Zoryn had her own reasons too, but they were limited to crowded corridors and Professors being more up-tight all the time with the added castle traffic. But she was plenty curious to know why Dora didn’t like them, since she was working closely with them or whatever for the IMP stuff. Not fair that Zoryn couldn’t play, by the way, SHE STILL WASN’T OVER IT!!!
”I’m very fair,” she nodded. HmmmMMMmmmm, Zoryn studied the older girl (for like .5 seconds) before wondering out loud, ”What’d he do?” ‘cause the Gryffindor’s explanation didn’t really mean much to Zor. Being rude wasn’t nice, but Zoryn wanted to know HOW he was rude. Not like she was gonna go tell anyone, buuuuuuut she wanted to know!!
”How come?” As in, how come she never got caught. ”Can you teach me? ‘Cause I’m super invincible right now, but I’m not gonna be this cute forever. And I’ve gotta know ‘cause the dungeons are super gross and stinky and I don’t wanna be locked in there.” YUP. Losing house points was one thing, but detention was not something she wanted to get caught up in.
Not yet, anyway.

This child... Dora shook her head as she spoke again, curls bouncing. "By that logic we could all quit school once we learned what we wanted to know. I think I can master fire and destruction without much help, but I still attend my class and study." See. Positive role model status! Or something like that. And now the child was doing cartwheels? How was that a show of being well rounded?
A brow quirk happened.
"So what? I can walk in stilettos. Try that sometime." THAT was hard work, bro. Like REAL hard to master. Any old fool could do some flips. Like probably Dora could if she was inclined to get up and do so? Which she wasn't.
And then the question... that she didn't QUITE have an answer for. Not a logical one anyway. And she wasn't trying to sway anyone's opinion on them, or anyone else for that matter, so she opted for a shrug. Nothing more. Her reasons, whether understandable to others or not were her own. "I have my reasons," she muttered before flexing her wrist to make her wand slide into her hand. Distractedly, she twirled it between two fingers and sighed.
And again with a question that she didn't want to answer, really. Especially because her reason for thinking Hirsch, or anyone else for that matter, was rude was a personal peeve. Like, she didn't appreciate being laughed at. It was patronizing and rude, but that was her THING. So another shrug. But no further explanation or comments were going to be made on this one.
"Because I am aware of my surroundings and get away quickly I guess. And I am honest about it if confronted... which kind of means people have known what I did, but they never CAUGHT me anyway. Anyhow, it is important to be sneaky. Make yourself unseen. I learned how to move around without anyone noticing me a long time ago. People just don't... pay any attention to me. And I prefer it that way," she said with ANOTHER shrug. Yay for shoulder muscle exercise? Or whatever muscle that was. "Best way to learn is to start watching people and things around you. Be quiet and observe. Then you start to learn."
Let your light shine || Be the sun || You're important. Always.
It wasn't often with Noelle's schedule that she was able to just.... relax. She was usually doing something. There were subjects to study, trainings to conquer, corridors to patrol. But right now, Noelle was done.
She had a tiny, knowing smile on her face as she headed up to the Gryffindor CR. She'd been walked up by her boyfriend, of course, and went separate ways once up here.
Heading through the portrait hole, she walked into the common room. The Gryffindor common room was one of her favorite spots. It was comfy, warm, inviting. Home. Noelle headed to a seat by the fire and got comfy in the chair. She even grabbed the blanket off the back of the chair and covered up with.
