| | The Igloo Banner credit: Suziella Behind the Groundskeeper's Hut, right at the edge of the Forbidden Forest towers an igloo. A spell keeps it from melting during the warmer seasons and despite some protest from the Groundkeeper’s side, the students are welcome to enter. This is where Mr. Baldvinsson likes to retreat when the Scottish summer gets too warm or when he needs to reminisce of his many years as a ranger on Svalbard.
Since the Igloo is completely made of ice, inside and out, you’ll notice it’s a clever idea to borrow one of the fur coats provided by Mr. Baldvinsson. Please leave the coat (undamaged, thank you) by the entrance for the next student to use.
Inside the Igloo are several ice statues in the shape of both magical and non-magical creatures that Mr. Baldvinsson found an interest in back home. A large sofa with a warming fur throw is located at one side of the room where you may take a seat and flip through one of the books on how to lure a polar bear, using snow patterns to track down a wolf pack or the quickest way to locate a hot spring. In the evening, a beautiful display of the northern lights is shown with green and blue lights dancing across the icy ceiling.
Any use of heatening charms such as Chaudensis or any fire spells are strictly forbidden, for obvious reasons. Please make sure to leave the Igloo as you found it and don’t let the northern lights make you forget the time for curfew. Mmhm.

He was outside as much as possible anyway, plus it was something that naturally caught his attention being large and new. And it just seemed so interesting that it was warm out yet there was a dwelling built of ice and snow just sitting there.
But it was cold and snowy out now that it was February and the igloo seemed a little more commonplace. Still very cool though, but he hadn't been to see it in a little while. So one day while he was out strolling the grounds and thinking about visiting his granian, Henry started to walk past the igloo and decided to venture in for a little while.
It was pretty empty and he supposed that had to do with the current inclement weather. But he didn't mind it and he walked in further, moving slowly around the ice sculptures as he looked at them. He finally took a seat on the couch in the middle of the dwelling and thought for a moment how this would be a cool place to study or do homework. As long as there weren't a ton of people coming in and out. Eh, maybe it'd just be a better place to hang out in. Ever since the Defense lesson about ice sculptures, Skylar had made a mental note to go back to the igloo and check out the sculptures again, perhaps for some inspiration about them in an effort to perhaps learn a thing or two about control and intent. Although merely observing what had been done before wouldn't help with her control, but it couldn't hurt either, right?
Finally though, the fourth year had the opportunity to head out to the grounds once more, thinking she really ought to check on her baby niffler again as it had been awhile and she felt like a bad creatures mommy. Savannah would be disappointed her. First things first though, she ventured into the igloo, slipping into the familiar fur coats, even though she was already dressed warm thanks to it being cold outside. And she nearly froze at sight of who was inside.
She hadn't really spoken to him since she saw him kissing Charlotte Kettleburn last May and while it wasn't really any of her business who he dated or didn't, it still kind of stung. Perhaps because he played on the under seventeen team with her brother, but she just hadn't really had words for him. And it wasn't that she had been purposefully avoiding him, but just, they hadn't crossed paths and oddly, she'd been okay with that. "Oh, sorry," she almost backed up and turned around to head back out, when she remembered something. "I never really congratulated you on the badge. Congrats." Better late than never? And she should go, before she got more flustered ...

And she should go, before she got more flustered ... How to Lure a Polar Bear. Henry couldn't think of any real reason why he would need to do such a thing, but it was kind of a cool idea, wasn't it? And so he picked up the book with that title as he sat on the sofa and he began flipping through it. Might be a dangerous sort of thing though.
He started to get lost in the reading of sneaky ways to track polar bears that he didn't notice anyone else entering the igloo. In fact, he didn't notice her at all until he heard her voice causing him to look up from the book. "Oh, hey, Skylar," he grinned, his smile slightly fading just briefly. Was she leaving already? It wasn't like she had interrupted him or anything. And he did think it was slightly strange that she was mentioning his prefect badge now, halfway through the school year, even if it was nice of her to do so."Uh, thanks," he said, resuming his bright smile again. "It was quite an honor to be asked." "So, what are you up to?" Obviously she came to visit the igloo for a reason, and Henry was curious, especially why she seemed apologetic for being there.

For a moment, Skylar hadn't been entirely sure she was heard by the older Hufflepuff, as he seemed intrigued by a book. There were books here ? How had she not noticed them the first time she was here ? Smiling at the recollection of her first visit, she realized why....
And then Henry greeted her and seemed befuddled about the congratulations. "Of course. I would have said something sooner, but ... i don't know, i guess, our paths haven't really crossed?" Skylar shrugged.
What was she up to? "I haven't been in here since like September and I wanted to see it in the Winter time? It was on my way to the creatures barn to check on my baby niffler." Had she mentioned the niffler before? No, probably not. "You? Is this your first visit to this igloo?" Not like she tracked his moves or anything, but she was simply curious.
