As you further explore the ship, you are no doubt drawn towards the exciting outpour of sound coming from the Avalon Lounge. Dinging bells and the ringing of slot machines combined with the usual arcade sounds just might entice you to walk into the casino. Here you will find a palpable energy and a lively atmosphere as you make your way through the bright and colourful room.
Games of all types are situated throughout. Rows of Muggle arcade games line one wall, slot machines line another. Take a seat in front of one and pull the lever to play. Line up three symbols in a row and you win! Tables featuring magical and Muggle card games are located in the middle. Though the dealer can deal you into the game at the Muggle tables, the magical tables have self-shuffling and dealing cards.
No money will exchange hands, however, as all games are simply here for your entertainment. You might just get a magical surprise if you win though. The magical games do get awfully excited when their players win, but try not to lose too many times in a row. Every now and then, losing games squirt water at their losing players.
A refreshment bar has also been provided at the casino for your convenience. Grab a refreshing butterbeer or gillywater and find your favourite game to play!

"Let's check out this room!" Rula pulled Rooney by the hand into the room with her. The ship was so huge it was almost overwhelming deciding which places to go first, but this one seemed like a good one to start off with. It was colorful and lively, and those Muggle game things looked like fun. And she wanted to make sure this evening was as fun as possible, especially for Rooney. Cheering up her friend and helping him to feel better was the most important task to her for this event.
"Any particular game you want to play first?" She was up for any of them, even if she didn't know how to play it. She could learn! How hard could any of these be really?

His looks hadn't gone unnoticed. Regina didn't know whether to laugh or scold him, saying that a picture would last longer. So she just let it be, allowing him to look. She was rather positive he wouldn't be the only one looking at her tonight. The tattoos were something she purposefully always had covered up. But the dress was too stunning to resist, and this event was a good excuse to wear it and be human.
Roderik's question amused her though she didn't show it, clearly already playing the game whether he knew it or not. "Genuinely asking," the woman replied, smiling and resisting to roll her eyes at his comment about her wanting to beat him at something. Of course she was going to beat him no matter what. And she knew he wouldn't be able to resist regardless.
Though talk of poker was, for now, set aside as Paul addressed them. She tried not to let the smile waver when he clapped at her and gave her a salute. "Oh, stop it, Paul. The clapping is totally unnecessary." As for the salute, well, he was dressed like a captain. She'd let that one slide.
A short laugh left her mouth the moment he said that he had to look sharp just in case Milton showed up. Was that the trick to making the Herbology professor leave his ponchos in the closet where they belonged? Invite Milton to every major school function? It was tempting... "Really? It is such a shame that he couldn't make it tonight." She rather enjoyed the man.
And ... kiddos? Kiddos? Then ruffling up Roderik's hair? Really, Paul? Really?
"We actually were just --" There was a pause. Regina gave Hirsch a look. Did the old man seriously just invite himself, making their duo now a trio? "-- going to play poker."
Oh, Merlin. This was seriously happening, wasn't it?
Now having a man at each arm, they continued on. "Yes, everyone looks simply ravishing tonight," she agreed with a nod of her head, keeping that poker face of hers going while trying to figure out how long the third wheel was planning on sticking with them. At this rate, probably all night. Merlin.

If she was genuinely asking then poker it is. Though, something told him that this wasn't the right setting for it but it would have to do for the time being. He opened his mouth to ask her if they were going to make this game of theirs more interesting by placing some kind of bet or something for the loser to do but then.....
........ Paul happened.
Kiddos? Surely, they weren't that much younger than the Herboloy Professor? Not student aged. But, then again, it was much better than calling him Hirschys kisses in front of Regina herself. As for the hair ruffle, Hirsch pulled a slightly disgusted face, as if this simple action was causing him some serious pain. On any other day, he probably would've only minded it a bit but seeing as he'd spent quite some time perfecting it for Regina this was putting water to his looks. Reaching up a hand, he tried to straighten it out, but, once again, Paul happened.
Uh.
No.
No.
Green eyes glanced at Regina, exchanging a look that clearly said that he was as surprised about this as she was. Two's a company but three's a crowd. Was Paul not aware of this? "How good of a poker player are you, Paul?" It was then, that the wild imagery of the Hufflepuff Head of House jumping with glee over his cards came to mind.
He shook his head and looked around at the room, instead. There were a few Ilvermorny students not too far away where there seemed to be a yelling match going on. Huh. "Looks like everyone took note of the smart attire part of your notice, Regina."
Paul ceased the clapping shortly and just smiled. "Yes, we tried. Something else came up for him." Something family related. His family, not Paul's. "I just hope he left good instructions for our dog sitter." Milton liked to leave the BARE MINIMUM for the dog sitter, and IT FREAKED PAUL OUT. Like she needed DETAILS, HUSBAND. Not the MINIMUM. And FOUR dogs, all of which had different needs, y'know? Paul suddenly felt the urge to write head-floo Milton and check to see...but there weren't any fireplaces here, and Paul did not feel like making the trek back to his office.
"Poker?" he asked. "I don't think...wait, I think I have played poker before, but...I'm not very good. I bet you're brilliant at it Regina. That face," he smirked. Regina seemed the type of woman who would hide her true feelings very well.
The hair ruffling had gone as Paul had expected; it had ANNOYED Roderik. Oh, it was just a hoot! "I am terrible at Poker. Are you two having a serious poker game?" Maybe he WOULD just leave them be. "IDEA for STAFF BONDING--POKER TOURNAMENT!" Paul ejected the words from his mouth without thinking. But really, even if he HAD thought about it, he would have stated it anyway. "It could be fun! I think I would lose lots of money. Unless...." he smirked mischievously. "We didn't play for money. I would play for the right to have PONCHO THURSDAYS..." Or was it Wednesday? Or Tuesdays? HE COULDN'T REMEMBER.

Argyle appeared with a pop and some items to replenish the refreshment bar. “Castle…boat…castle…boat,” she murmured. Busy…busy…busy. Food and drink was made for castle earlier and now for big party. The Hogwarts house elves working together with the cruise line’s compliment of elves for the occasion. Argyle was more than happy to help her studenteses and professoreses.
Oooo look…. headmistresseses.
Well one headmistresses… It could be confusing for a poor house-elf with the two of them being at the school at the same time. The house elf flittered about working…making everything right.

Ever since Rooney had asked Rula to accompany him to this event, he had felt a lot calmer about being around for all sorts of reasons. The lack of Olivia on his arm could be explained away with him wanting to give a friend a date who couldn't bring the person she was in a relationship with, and it meant that the questions from others were few and far between. Giving the other Head R a hand squeeze, Roo smiled fondly at the blatant attempt to throw fun into his night. However, it was his duty to make her night fun. Right? He had asked her to be his date, and he was all sorts of a gentleman.
"I have no idea how to play any of them... You pick and I'll follow." Let the lady lead the evening and the man lead on the dancefloor. That was etiquette, yes?
After exiting the restroom and feeling refreshed, Melanie kept a lookout for one Regina Hawthorne. The headmistress looked stunning tonight, and as much as she hated to admit it, Melanie was in awe. It was with a stone face, though, that she tried to find Regina in the crowd. It was a room devoted to gambling; how classy. Melanie could have snorted in the stupidity of it. Way to teach children young.
Her cheekbones, surely, would stand out. No one had them quite like Regina. Melanie had grabbed another drink and was sipping it casually as she scanned the crowd. Regina detection was in full affect, and she spotted the woman in her white dress alongside Roderik Hirsch and Paul Myers. As the British would say, bloody hell at that trio. She no more wanted to approach the obnoxious Myers than she did the idiotic Hirsch.
She would watch. She would wait. She would sip her drink silently, to herself.
What an odd place to deliver a package to. A midnight black owl swooped in, dropped a small package atop the woman's [Melanie Williams] head before giving a hoot and flying away.
Melanie was distracted, but she wasn’t that distracted. She took note of the owl immediately and had to wonder...was this what she and Duncan had been waiting for? Before she had time to think about it further, the small package plopped her head. Luckily, it didn’t hurt, but she still patted the top of her hair in a disgruntled manner.
“Gee, thanks, darling,” she muttered to herself before stooping to retrieve the package. Perfect. Now, forget asking Regina to dance. She had to find her brother. Was he still over there, flirting with Kaysha? Melanie tucked the package under her arm and hurried over.

He didn't know how to play them either? This was going to be very interesting then, heh. Unless all these different games had instructions on how to play. But maybe it would be more fun to figure it out as they played?
"Okay, then how about...that one?" She suggested, pointing to a colorful-looking electronic Muggle game that was apparently called "Pac-Man". Whatever a pac man was. Walking over to it, the screen showed some yellow circle going through a maze of dots. Looked simple enough, so hopefully this one wasn't too hard. "I don't know if two people can play at once though?" If not, they could try something else if he wanted!
How did this thing even work though? She pressed a couple buttons...and the screen refreshed. Wait, was the game starting??

Deo found himself almost literally being shoved by his cousin towards the gaming area, probably the only way to keep him from high tailing it back to the Beetle. All the lights, all the sounds-- much needed distraction. Or at least Ace thinks so.
It still doesnt change the fact that Deo knows full well that he is on a BOAT and that if it SINKS he'd be a dead man.
Maybe now he can make his escape.....
Maesi needed a little break from all that dancing she had been doing. It was hard to be the center of attention sometimes, even if she seemed to make it look easy! But her feet needed a rest so she took off her heels and carried them into the casino. It was bright lights, big city in here, but she could probably take a minute to sit down and play some games while she was at it. It looked like a lot of fun in here!
She spotted someone familiar and sidled up next to him before gracefully slipping into an empty seat there. "Hey, handsome," she greeted, giving him a big smile. "What are you doing over here all by yourself? Having any fun?" The games did look like fun, even if she wasn't sure what all they did besides make noise and flash lights. But before she turned to play one, she noticed an owl drop something on Professor Williams' head.
"How weird." Who got deliveries in the middle of a party? And she sure seemed to be in a hurry to rush off. But Maesi could care less. It didn't involve her so it didn't concern her. "Want to play?" she asked Deo with a smile, gesturing to the game.

There was a LOT of things going on in this place-- he saw Madelyn and waved back, there were Professors from Hogwarts, theres this gaming cabinet that made an awful lot of noise-- and of course he still knows he's on a BOAT.
Too much too much....
He started to back away, then felt someone slide up against him. Startled he winced for a split second before realizing who it was. "Maesi! Hey...." well talk about sight for sore eyes. Or sore nerves. "Fun?... Uhm....." he didnt know how to answer that, struggling of not wanting to look so unnerved and basically proving just that.
She commented on something weird and the Serpentine lad turned. Oh good something to focus on other than all these distractions. History Prof gets a package delivered in the middle of the party? What was so urgent about that? Yes he was hyper-focusing on something like that because it was both familiar and thought provoking and keeps the anxieties at bay. For now at least.
Maesi's voice pierces through though "Play....? Oh the machines--" yes lets focus on this. Keep calm keep calm "Have you played any of these before?"
Yeah thats what crazy is, when its broken you say theres nothing to fix++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++And you pray that everything will be okay, while you're making all the same mistakes
