Charlotte was nervous, if she was being honest. In that sort of excited way, but still! Proper duels with adults weren't something to be TOO casual about. And she wasn't sure really what Professor Stewart was like when it came to dueling - Char had watched the one duel, and she knew it had been close, but also Char had felt that they had both kept their spells super super simple, so she wasn't sure if that was something she should expect now herself or if that was just because the Stewarts were the kind of family who went easy on each other.

In any case, Char arrived early and stretched and got warmed up before her duel. READY READY READY. Getting PUMPED! When it was time to start, she greeted the professor excitedly, went through all the usual bowing, saluting, pacing that was the core of dueling etiquette, and then whipped around to start.

A quick one-two to begin with, which was a go-to strategy for her, of course. A stinging hex, and then because Hirsch had been insistent on her practicing, a non-verbal tarantallegra.

When Camilla had saw her name beside that of a students it had made her smile. What better way for the students to learn then to go up against someone stronger then themselves, like a professor. This was to be a true duel so she wouldn't purposely go easy on Charlotte. You don't learn by anyone going easy on you.

The sixth years excitement was enough to make her laugh but honestly she rather have her excited then scared and running away. After the initial greeting, bowing, pacing and turning around to face her opponent, it was a good thing she already had her wand out at the ready. There was definite props to be given for a very confident strong start.

A very simple, "Protego," was cast right away to shield herself from the incoming stinging jinx that she did not fancy getting hit with. However the shield gave way on impact with the second spell that hit it. Immediately her legs began to move one going one way and the other going the other way in a very funny state of dancing. "Dancing is highly entertaining, Charlotte. However I could happily wait until after the duel," she replied with some light laughter, making sure to hold onto her wand tightly casting a very quick, non-verbal Confundus Charm before going ahead and casting a soft, "Finite", on herself to stop the dancing.

Oh one of her spells hit! Char had plenty of reason to be excited about that - she was facing a professor after all.

Thouughhh it kind of felt like professor Stewart was going easy on her. Char also wasn't about to get into conversation - she was too busy focusing on the duel. Duels were serious business to her, which was probably part of why she represented Britain in the dueling these days.

Charlotte didn't know what was being cast at her, but she blocked anyway when she saw that a spell was heading her way. That was easy enough. And...... okay well she'd stay on the offensive then. She cast a non-verbal sticking charm at the professor's feet, followed immediately by a jelly legs curse and a stinging hex.

"Don't go easy on me, professor, I'm not a first year!" She reminded the older woman cheerfully. This was supposed to be a challenge, right?

Right away Camilla knew how serious a dueler, Charlotte was by her lack of conversation. This pleased her to see that the girl was not only focused but doing her very best and wanting that bit of a push in her skills.

The simple charm she had cast was easily blocked as expected. Also as she had assumed there was very quickly several spells sent her way. Quickly she cast, "Armanto", creating a silver shield to which the sticking charm bounced off of and was sent back at Char. Literally jumping out of the way of the following spells, Cami was already casting Loricatus on herself. The temporary armour would be enough to protect her from spells sent her way for the moment.

"As you wish, Charlotte," Camilla replied aiming her wand at the girl and casting a non-verbal Immobulus followed closely by Lapifors.

Char side stepped and cast her usual featherlight charm on herself to make the evasion aspect of her strategy even more effective. Was the professor armoring herself? Well that was interesting wasn't it? That meant Charlotte would have to use a different approach, maybe something that would effect Professor Stewart armour and all and.... yikes!

With the help of the featherlight charm, Char dodged as quickly as she could but the Immobulus hit Char's leg and froze it which was such an odd feeling given the rest of her was just fine. Rather than immediately deal with that, expecting more of an onslaught, she made use of her balance and hopped onto her good leg, the immobile one still and unmoving, and threw a protego up, rebounding the... next spell, the lapifors, back at the professor. If that hit her then it would hopefully dissipate that armour spell.... hopefully not result in turning her professor into an armoured rabbit which would be difficult!!

"Levicorpus!" Charlotte wasn't going to rely on the rebounded spell though, and she cast her own attack, going for a spell that wouldn't be defended or absorbed by the armouring - the goal was to levitate the armoured professor Stewart by the ankle! Armour and all! She followed up with a finite on her own leg to remove the effects of the immobulus, though she would have liked to attack more, first things were first.

If Hirsch was glad about one thing in this duel, it was the fact that Charlotte was doing as instructed and challenging herself by casting nonverbally in a duel setting. It was all good to practice on your own but it was another story to have to try and do it under pressure and here was the proof that she can do just that. It was enough to make the man grin with pride as he watched the duel unfold.

He tried not to chuckle when the Gryffindor gave Camilla a warning not to go easy on her. He trusted Camilla and knew she wouldn't do anything to hurt Charlotte but it was still amusing to hear that warning. Hopefully, they were both giving each other a challenge during the short time in which this duel was taking place.

And speaking of time, it was up!

He struck up a shield between the pair, making Charlotte's spells hit the shield instead of Camilla. You're welcome. "That was great!" he called, making his way towards them, "Really well done to both of you! I'm glad you're casting more nonverbals now, Charlotte, especially in a duel setting. That should help you with the tournaments." Maybe she could be looking at gold now. "And thanks for doing this, Camilla. Hope you liked the challenge."

And they were free to go.
