The prefects have their own compartment at the front of the train. Even if you don't want to sit here the whole time, it's a good idea to check in for a few minutes. Sometimes the Head Boy and Head Girl like to hold a meeting... or there might even be a special guest on the train that needs escorting.
Prefects only, please, unless you have been invited in or need assistance! | |

Kitty boarded the train and slowly made her way into the prefects compartment. Smiling and saying good morning to everyone she passed, the Ravenclaw prefect reached the proper compartment and entered. The doors were open but she was the first.
Taking out her the small hand mirror she kept in her purse, she examined her hair bangs and black lipstick to see that everything was in place. Satisfied, she closed it and began thinking of the Ilvermorny students and how much they were going to be missed.

So this was it. Her last ride on the Hogwarts Express and Rula...was feeling okay right now actually. She was a little sad about it, but it hadn't fully hit her yet, perhaps just because she was happy to be seeing the rest of her family and Max and Bast soon. And then there was all of summer to look forward to, and just the realization that she was a graduate now, and that feeling of accomplishment... All of that was affecting her more than the sadness over leaving right now.
So she made her way to the prefects compartment first, although she didn't plan on sitting here for the whole trip. There were a few others she wanted to sit with too, like Dora and Junia and Abey, but she could search for them later on. Right now, she wanted to be here for a little bit.
Upon entering the compartment, she spotted only Kitty, so Rula wasn't late or the last to arrive at least.
"Hey, Kitty." She smiled at the Ravenclaw as she took a seat. "Ready for summer?"

"Hey Rula," she said smiling back. It was sadness that she realized her co-prefect wouldn't be returning to Hogwarts next year. "I am ready for it, but I'll miss you all. I'll miss not seeing the Ilvermorny students next year. And I'll miss doing prefect stuff with you." Like patrolling and all the other things they did. "Where are you going next? I want to hear all about it."
She put away the magazine to be available to have conversations with.

After making sure that Brinlee and both of their cats were on the train, Rooney had headed straight for the Prefect compartment for the final time. He had used this carriage since the beginning of his fourth year and so this was more of a normality for him than any of the other carriages. He'd taken naps in here, listened to meetings and thought about his future in here. Now it was his future. That was strange to think about...
Curling up beside Rula, Rooney rested his head on her shoulder and listened to her and Kitty talk. He was just going to be here. With them. His favourites of the Prefects, really.

Sad that he wouldn't be her co-prefect and that no one at Hogwarts would enjoy his school theatrics anymore, but at the same time happy that he was going somewhere he probably really liked. "I'm really going to miss you. Lessons just won't be the same when you're not there." But it was not really goodbye, not if they were still keeping in contact. "I'll write so you know what's happening at Hogwarts and you can advise me and everything. We'll keep in touch."

This term has taken quite a bit out of the Curly Top. Granted it was a different sort of hectic compared to last term, but maybe that just proves that brainpower takes way more energy than brawnpower eh?
He slid the door open and saw Kitty, Rula and Rooney. "Hey guys!" he greeted cheerful despite his fatigue as he melted into the seat.

"I'll miss you too! It's been a pleasure working and studying here with you," Rula replied, smiling. She and Kitty might not have been super close, but Rula was quite fond of the Ravenclaw and her opinions. She might not agree with her on every single thing, but she definitely admired the passion and ambition behind it all. "I'll be going to uni, hopefully, if my NEWTs turn out okay. I want to study languages and education." So hopefully things would work out. Some decisions still needed to be finalized, but...it would be okay. Hopefully.
Then, before she could elaborate further, Rooney appeared, taking the seat next to her and resting his head on her shoulder. She smiled. "Hey, Rooney." Another friend that had stuck with her since she'd first arrived at Hogwarts in her third year. A lot had changed since then, but at least their friendship hadn't. She was proud to have him in her class and graduate alongside him.
And then the lovable little male Gryffindor prefect arrived as well. "Hey, Ace." She offered him a smile as well.

Plans after Hogwarts.... its something he's kinda sorta not really thought about. And the only other times its ever crossed his mind was moments like these, faced with older Hogwartians forging onto new paths.
But theres one thing he really wanted to know from the Head Girl.
"Hey Rula...." he started, a bit hesitantly "..... so we got Rooney's autographed headshot..... where's yours?" hopeful starry eyed lookin atchu lady.
Because apparently he's starting to think this is some kind of tradition he was unaware of. Also he just wanted to have the HG's pic ok she's easy on the eyes.

"I bet you did great with your NEWT's," she said with a smile, meaning every word of it. She really liked Rula and always had the feeling she was a better student than she herself was. "We should write to each other. Just because we leave Hogwarts doesn't mean we should stop being friends. Here, I'll give you my address." And she beckoned her quick quotes quill to leave her purse. It floated out with a parchment of paper, which she scribbled her address on.
And then they were joined by her favorite Gryffindor boy. "Hey Tenacius! How's it going?" She suppressed a giggle when he suggested Rula signing herself on an autograph like Rooney. Not that it was a bad idea or anything.

That...was definitely not a response she expected. Hehe.
"I...guess I didn't think anyone would want one from me," Rula replied with a small laugh. "I suppose I could send you one, though, if you like." Assuming Ace actually wanted one and wasn't just being funny. She grinned.
Looking back at Kitty when she replied, she smiled again, appreciating the encouragement over her NEWTs. "Thank you, I hope so." She felt like she'd at least done okay, but there was always that little nagging voice in the back of her head suggesting otherwise. Quite annoying, it was. "Oh, yes, I'd love that!" Writing letters was actually quite fun, and she'd be writing loads of them to people who were in Hogwarts next term anyway, so one more wouldn't hurt! She pulled a bit of parchment from her purse and wrote down her address, handing it to Kitty once she was done.

Etta couldn't believe the term was over already. As much as she looked forward to going home for the summer and spend time with her family, 'cause she really missed them, the girl was definitely going to miss school and the Hufflepuff only had a couple of years left before she'd be off exploring the real world. Hogwarts did feel like a second home to her, at this point. Yeah, no. She definitely didn't want to be thinking about that now. She sighed sadly as she entered the prefects compartment and sat down, glancing at the others.
"Rooney and Rula.. I'm really going to miss you two." She actually had a little bit of a speech prepared but she didn't want to get too emotional and end up.. crying or something. That would be embarrassing to say the least. The girl gave them a smile, hoping she got to meet them again someday. Next, she turned her attention towards Kitty and Ace, the smile on her face widening just a little. "Hi, guys. Ready for summer?"

"Hey Kitty! Didja make sure Peeves isnt on the train this time?" he laughed with his old friend, since the last time they were talking they were interrupted and he ended up with the wrong end of a book on his back.
He looked at Rula with mild shock and bemusement "Who wouldnt want an autographed headshot from you Rula?" he grinned genuinely. "Isnt this some kind of Head Boy Head Girl tradition to give those things away for remembrance?"
Oh hey look its Owlie-bestie "Hey Champ!" he greeted the Hufflepuff Prefect. "Yeah pretty much lookin forward to sleeping in!" he laughed.
