Hogwarts RPG Name: Sophie Flightdatter Second Year | H:100 m:100 f:15 Sophie was worried. Very worried. She had been a little busy lately with her schoolwork, so she hadn't been able to get any practice in before her duel was slotted to begin. As if that wasn't bad enough, she was also going up against a second year who was undoubtedly older than her by at least a year. Talk about first time nerves!
Grasping her wand in a death grip, Sophie stepped toward her opponent. As she readied herself, she suddenly remembered the important rule about bowing. She quickly (and rather awkwardly!) dropped into a polite bow with a tiny smile. There, she thought as she stood back up. Now I'm ready! There's nothing left that can stop me in my tracks this time!
With one of her major problems cut completely out of the picture, Sophie was actually prepared to go. She lifted her wand into the air and pointed it directly at her opponent's shoes. "Colloshoo!" she called, her voice ringing out loud and clear. "With any luck, the Stickfast Jinx will do it!" |

| 150, 150, 15 Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Well, well, well he had the first year for a partner in the first duel and it was a girl. Now some boys would have had issues dueling a girl, but not Blaze. He treated everyone equally and that equality usually was who could get him things and who couldn't. Right now she was on the couldn't end since they were against each other, but if she played her cards right maybe she could be useful to him later on.
Getting ready to start he did the duelers bowl and moved to get set. She didn't take long to get started and Eddie enjoyed that his wand was up as the first spell was cast. "Protego" He tried to think about what he as going to use and gave the girl his nicest smile. He liked to use the smile to adults to show he was innocent and wouldn't bring any trouble. "Serpensortia" the snakes went flying out of this wand. Giving a few seconds he watched before quickly doing the wand movement and sending the babbling curse towards her.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sophie Flightdatter Second Year | H:100 m:95 f:15 A jolt of adrenaline pounded through Sophie's veins as she watched the two potentially dangerous spells fly toward her. The first, Serpensortia, set a - herd? flock? gaggle? - something of snakes slithering toward her. Though terrified of the advancing reptiles, Sophie had more pressing matters to deal with. Specifically, she had to avoid the burst of light from the Babbling Curse. "A simple sidestep should do it," she said in a trembling voice. Moving rather fast for the strange feeling in her legs, Sophie carefully stepped to the side and away from the incoming spell. With the Babbling Curse successfully avoided, she turned back to the rapidly approaching snakes. I can turn this into an offensive strategy, she realized with a devious grin. "Wingardium Leviosa!" With a lovely swish and flick of her wand, Sophie levitated the collection of snakes into the air. "Better be on the watch for air missiles," she called, challenging her opponent with the tilt of her head. She flipped the hovering reptiles toward her waiting opponent, praying for it to work. |

| 150, 100, 15 Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... This girl was impressive even though Eddie would never admit that. He didn't want to give a girl the benefit to know he thought she was impressive, plus that would give an opponent the upper hand. Could he smirk as she sent the snakes back at him? He loved snakes so this wasn't a threat to him. Though could he scare her? "You do know I know how to talk to them right?" It was a lie he had been telling anyone who would listen. He wanted the word out that someone here could speak parseltongue. "Ssssssssss hissss sssss shissss" He pulled his wand "Finte" The spell he originally cast ended and the snakes disappeared. "Don't like snakes?" He walked a bit with his guard up, since she hadn't sent anything else he figured he could do an easy spell against her. "Do you like to laugh?" He did the movements, "Rictusempra" Watching the spell he hoped it would catch her off guard so he could fully disarm. "Expelliarmus "
Lets see how she would do with that.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sophie Flightdatter Second Year | H:100, m:80, f:10 The duel was certainly heating up. Surprisingly, Sophie was actually enjoying it quite a bit. There was something rather exciting about being able to challenge herself against an older and more experienced duelist. The omnipresent sense of uncertainty was enough to set her on edge, but not enough to be overly intimidating or stressful.
There was one thing that bothered her slightly, though. Her opponent - Edwin, was it? Or Howard maybe? - seemed to think that she was five. He was obviously trying to hide a smirk as he bent down and muttered a load of gibberish to the snakes. A twinge of indignation pulsed through Sophie's mind. "Just because I'm only a first year doesn't mean that I'm gullible!"
As she scowled at the boy across from her, he suddenly flung the Tickling Charm at her. Gasping, she dove for cover. Once it has passed over her head, she clambered back up to her feet. "What was that..." Her sentence was cut off the rapid approach of a second spell. By the time Sophie saw the Expelliarmus Charm in front of her face, it was too late. Petrified by what she was sure was her impending doom, she let her wand slip from her fingers. It landed on the floor with a loud clunk just before the impact of the spell slammed into her. Somehow, she stood her ground and wasn't knocked to the ground despite the immense force of the spell.
After leaning down to retrieve her dropped wand, Sophie thought long and hard about what spell to use next. Finally, she came to her conclusion. "Mucus ad Nauseam," she cried, flipping her wand in the direction of her opponent. The Curse of the Bogies would be incredibly distracting, if she was lucky. Hoping that he would be distracted enough to miss her next spell, she lifted her wand again and shouted, "Jelly Fingers!" If his fingers turned to jelly, maybe he wouldn't be able to hold his wand anymore. |

| 150, 80, 15 Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... He just looked over at her and shook his head, "I would never believe you were gullible. I would, however, believe that if you were a real witch and not a mudblood you would know the language that I spoke." How in 2092 they still allowed that kind in here he would never know. Thye had to realize by now how they were killing the wizarding world. Everything that he had ever heard his uncle and cousins say came to his mind.
He watched with a glint of excitement in his face as her wand fell to the floor. His mind raced to find the perfect spell to do her in and end the duel when she was quick to pick it up and send the next spell at him. He hit the ground to avoid the curse of the boogies, no way was he dealing with that one, but he couldn't move fast enough to avoid the next. He felt his fingers flop around and he slowly got to his feet as the jinx did its thing.
Using both hands to palm his wand, it was going to be a two hand effort with these fingers he did the movement "Finite" to get his fingers back to normal. Once he could hold his wand in one hand again he quickly jumped for the next attack, "Tarantallegra". If the girl started to dance it wouldn't be long before she was on the floor because Eddie had a plan. Doing the wand movements he quickly sent the trip jinx towards her.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Alexander River Hirsch Gryffindor Third Year Hogwarts RPG Name: -- x11 x11
| urine trouble | Pat's Strong Confident Other Half | Pees Like a Champion Unicorn Racehorse What was with all the trashtalk? Did it help with the duelling process? Did the duellers feel more fired up and ready to duel because of it?
Because Hirsch failed to understand.
The man watched as the two students started to battle it out. If he was honest with himself, he had initially been slightly worried that Miss Flightdatter's nerves coupled with facing a student older than her might make her want to back down but there was no mistaking that Gryffindor courage. His eyebrows shot up as the girl shot spell after spell and Mr Blaze retaliated with some challenging spells of his own.
Maybe it had been a good idea to pair these two up against each other.
That was, until Mr Blaze started to use words that were rude and unnecessary.
The expression on Hirsch's face dropped and he found himself frowning at the Slytherin. In fact, it wasn't long after that that the Defence Professor struck up a shield, calling the end of the duel. "First of all, Mr Blaze, language. That word isn't tolerated at Hogwarts, and certainly not any of the Defence classrooms." Consider it a warning, kid. "I think it's safe to end the duel there, actually. Congratulations, Mr Blaze, on taking the lead during this round." He still wasn't happy with the use of that word but there was no denying that the boy had done well. "And well done, Miss Flightdatter," he said, turning to look at her with a small smile on his face, "for putting up a great fight. You've both done well." And they were free to go. Stats: Sophie Flightdatter: 64.11% Edward Blaze Jr: 71.11%
