| | House Point Hourglasses Across from Hogwarts' main doors stand four giant hourglasses filled with gemstones. The stones in the bottom indicate the current number of house points each house has earned so far. |

He had just been in the staff room making himself a coffee. He had a coffee maker in his office, sure, but he couldn't very well stay in his Herbology realm all the time. Sometimes he had to venture into the castle! Plus, he spent a fair amount of time in the library. Swirling the sugar around in his coffee using a little mixer, Paul excited the staff room and came to a stop in front of the points hourglasses. Poor Hufflepuff was in third. Paul wondered if people would look back on his time as head of house and judge him poorly because of this. Points are not the most important thing, though, he thought to himself. Happy and healthy and successful students were what he cared about. And for the most part, he thought he was good at his job. Gryffindor was utterly dominating the scene, really, and he chuckled to himself. He watched as a few stones dropped to the bottom in Ravenclaw's. Ah, his old house. It felt weird to feel BUMMED at Ravenclaw getting points.
Hmph.
He sipped his coffee, deep in though.

| HAI PROFESSOR! *waves* ;D YesJess! | Captain Goggles | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers Points aren't the be all, end all Skylar kept trying to scold herself, every time she walked past the hourglasses. You don't always have to win the house cup. Just because your house won your first three terms... And there it goes again. More rubies dropping into the Gryffindor hourglass. Despite her trying to NOT look, the fourth year found herself staring at the hourglasses, hoping by some miraculous fate, her death stare would cause the Gryffindor hourglass to break and the rubies could tumble out.
It was probably the Ilvermorny kids fault. She should have seen it coming from the moment they all partied it up at their Gryffindor table at their welcoming feast. They totally rigged the system and they're probably rigging the competition too. There was just something ... not trustworthy about them.
Distracted, it took a moment to realize she wasn't alone, but rather the Hufflepuff House Head was present too. "Professor Myers, Hi," she greeted. "Just blame the Ilvermorny kids" she said by explanation, as she inclined her head towards the hourglasses. Even though they might have been rooting for different houses in the house cup, at least they could agree on not wanting it to be the current house cup leader.

Sirius had been REALLY playful today. Whenever her assigned cruppy was in a good mood, it automatically boosted Emmeline's mood as well. It was like magic! She wondered if crups had a secret ability to make witches and wizards happy that hadn't been discovered yet, and she was just making a mental note to ask Professor Wayland later when she drew even with the House points glasses. Gryffindor was still in the lead! Yay!
She knew points weren't super important, but it still felt good to earn lots and lots of them for her House if she could, and the House Cup was probably super pretty--
The first year stopped in her tracks when she noticed the other people looking at the points. Miss Skylar always seemed nice in lessons, not that they'd talked much, but why was she alone with Professor Dark Wizard??? She didn't understand why the older kids here didn't take Dark magic more seriously. "Hello, Professor, Miss Skylar,"the Gryffindor greeted them both politely, being super careful to keep her tone nice and even. She didn't want the Dark wizard to know that she was on to him after all. |

Paul felt the presence of some students join him. He continued to drink his coffee and look at the hourglasses. And then he chuckled at the girl's words. He looked over at Skylar, seemingly in a cheerful enough mood. "Why blame them for OUR points, m'dear?" he asked curiously. "Gryffindor is dominating. We clearly need to to do some sabotage--" Paul Myers was COMPLETELY kidding here....right...ALL JOKES. NOT AT ALL SERIOUS. NOPE. NO INTENTIONS TO SABOTAGE THE LIONS. None at ALL.
Speaking of lions...
They were joined by a first year, Emmeline, as well. "Helllllllo, dear!" he said, not at all suspiciously so basically very suspiciously. He winked at Skylar. "What are you girls up to today? Not enjoying the blistering cold weather outside, then?" Because who didn't want to hang outside in weather that could potentially turn your skin blue? Sounded like some true fun right there.

| YesJess! | Captain Goggles | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers It didn't take long before she was joined again, by a small first year, Emmaline. She'd seen the girl in classes and definitely saw lots of potential in the girl; very smart, this one was. "Oh hello, Emmaline," she nodded, before looking back at the Herbology Professor.
Huh, what had said before Emmaline's arrival? Sabotage the Gryffindors? Why blame them for their points? IT WAS OBVIOUS. They were fans of the Gryffindors, anyone with two eyes could see it, so clearly they've rigged the Hogwarts system. But good ideas, professor. Duly noted.
BUT mustn't talk about that anymore, because they had a lion amongst them. Of course they did; Gryffindors were everywhere. Can't talk sabotage with one amidst their presence. "Oh you know, just the usual.... walking from lessons to the castle and back to lessons again, because apparently professors think it's COOL to host lessons outside in the cold when they have a toasty warm classroom inside the castle." There was really no pun intended there, by the cool reference. None at all, except maybe a small amount. "Meaning to say, I need to drop by to talk with you about my recent homework, but you know, all the outdoor and indoor, going outside again when not necessary..." She winked at him, because obviously there was no homework to talk about. Just things to plan, that he had mentioned before Emmaline's arrival.

The Gryffindor folded her arms across her chest. Professor Dark Wizard didn't fool her for one second, nope. He was obviously going to curse the house point glass thingies so that Hufflepuff won, because why else would a Dark wizard be standing here pretending to do nothing? Emmeline hoped that Miss Skylar really was a victim and not an accomplice, because the older girl always seemed so nice! Maybe Professor Dark Wizard had done something to the Slytherin's brain, because they didn't have Herbology homework from last lesson?
But the professor had asked her something before Miss Skylar talked about that. What was it--- Oh. "I just came in from outside, sir. I was visiting the baby creatures."Which he should have NO interest in, because babies couldn't be tricked into helping him with whatever evil scheme he was cooking up.
The first year nodded along as Miss Skylar talked about too many lessons being held outside; why did all of the professors suddenly want to die of frostbite?
Maybe the professor's evil plan went beyond the House points he was staring at, though. She eyed him skeptically before turning back to Miss Skylar, because that reminded her... "But Miss Skylar, I thought he didn't give us any homework last time?", she asked as her brow wrinkled in confusion.
Wait. Was Miss Skylar winking at him?? Oh no, was she too late? She scrutinized Miss Skylar's expression too. Was she under the Imperius Curse?!

Paul had to chuckle at that. "Well, lessons like Herbology and Creatures HAVE to be outside. At least your sleeping quarters aren't out there, Miss Diggory," he said cheekily. He and Tristan and the groundskeeper all had rooms out there. Plus the Americans! He wondered if the Beetle bug was cold? He hoped not, for the students' sakes. "You can stop by my meeting space any time you need, m'dear, for anything. And that goes for you, too, Emmeline," he said with a smile. "What creature are you assigned, then? Did you sign up for it, too, Skylar?" he asked them both. "I thought about doing it---Professor Wayland said we could join if we wanted---but I have way too much on my plate at the moment." With the IMPs stuff and all...and Regina needing his help. For things. And stuffs. Mhmm.
AHA! The first year was clever! HE HADN'T ASSIGNED THEM HOMEWORK. "Of course I didn't, but Miss Diggory needed some help with something else. Some other homework." Why she wouldn't be going to THAT professor was beyond him, she could make that part up if she wanted!
NOTHING SUSPICIOUS HERE.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Kyle Baker Fifth Year | ChanceCoeur/Noelle Summers (and anyone else?)
Almost an entire year here visiting Hogwarts, and Kyle still hadn't extended his social network much wider than it already was (read: not very wide at all). The IMPS competition had, unfortunately, taken up a lot of his time. He studied for it in the same way that he studied for his classes; unwaveringly.
Now, though, there was only one challenge left to go, and only a matter of weeks left of the school year. Things were winding down, and even Kyle had succumbed to the idea of taking an extra break here and there. In terms of the competition, he had of course already faced his two worst school subjects, and despite the importance of the upcoming challenge, he had felt the pressure lessen significantly.
The most Kyle had seen of Hogwarts was the library, and the corridors that led him there. The grounds too, of course, seeing as that the ridiculous Beetle had been stationed out there. Kyle had paid particular note to certain aspects of the castle... the portraits, for instance, steeped in history as they were. But there were a great many things here at Hogwarts that he had yet to devote any attention to at all.
The hourglasses, for instance, the ones that counted house points. The colours were vibrant, standing out magnificently against the grey of the stone Entrance Hall. Today, rather than pass them by as usual on his walk through the castle, Kyle decided to give in to his curiosities and take a closer look, instead. He stopped in front of the four hourglasses and inspected them, his eyes naturally drawn to the one full of red rubies.
Gryffindor House took no prisoners, apparently.

Gryffindor House took no prisoners, apparently. Diet was important to Noelle. Well, her diet. It used to not be. She used to eat whenever she felt like it and then it was usually something sweet or fried. But since she started her animagus training, and Professor Stewart told her she needed to mind her diet and exercise for an easier change, that's what she was doing.
Today was no different. After finishing her meal, Noelle wiped her mouth and headed out of the Great Hall. She was to report to patrols soon, but had a little bit of time before she needed to do that. She headed down the corridor when something... or rather someone caught her eye.
The infamous, Kyle Baker.
Curious, Noelle went to stand by him. She glanced at the hourglasses a moment. A few different questions rose in her mind. Some being more friendly than others. Others were curious that she was sure others wanted to know. Instead, she blurted out, " Do you think you could win the competition?"
Which was rude... because she didn't say hi or acknowledge her existence to him. And they had briefly met once so it was probably weird her coming up to him and blurting that out. " Oh. Um.. yeah hold on. Hi, Im Noelle Summers. So, do you think you could win the competition? Against Levi? Or Brent? or even your own classmate Gray?"
Was that a little better? Probably not.

Was that a little better? Probably not. What with the students and staff of both Hogwarts and Ilvermorny all residing in and around the Hogwarts castle - and with neither of those schools having a particularly small population respectively - encountering other people was not a matter of 'if', but 'when'. Kyle couldn't have been stood in front of the hourglasses for very long at all before someone else had appeared beside him.
Not looking round just yet, Kyle debated with himself as to whether or not he should try to strike up a conversation. Usually he avoided all of that; not because he didn't want to befriend others, but because he wasn't very good at it. 'Awkward' wasn't exactly the right word, it was more that Kyle knew he had a general air of disinterest about him, a vibe others seemed to get from his usually dour presentation. It could be tricky territory, and the harder he actually tried to get on with other kids, the harder he failed at it.
Kyle was still thinking - and, naturally, overthinking - on the matter, when it was sort of taken out of his hands completely. He blinked in surprise at the question and turned to face the speaker, a very familiar girl around his own age with robes accented in red. Gryffindor.
He was about to open his mouth to answer, but the girl got there first and seemed to backtrack. Sort of. Except not at all, seeing as the point of what she was saying was still the same. Kyle waited until she was done - like, for real this time - before he finally replied. "Kyle." His name, not his answer. Obviously. "Well... I mean, it's within the realm of possibility. I could win. Doesn't mean I will, but I could. Any of us could." He looked back at the hourglasses once more, at the Gryffindor one. They really were way out in front and, in stark contrast to his own house, it didn't appear that that was likely to change so late in the term. Turning his attention back to Noelle Summers again, Kyle added. "I intend to try, at least."
