| | Front Desk Welcome to the Front Desk! This is where you can check out books, get information about the Library and have a chat with Mr. Kennedy if you wish.
You might notice that the front desk is made up entirely of books, Kalen chose each and every one of them to make up a desk for him and if you ask for a recommendation don't be surprised if he takes a book from his desk and hands it to you.
Please make note of the Library Rules and have fun! But be respectful please! |

She was in his world now, and just that thought made him happy for a reason he didn't understand.. or want to understand. "It really is, I'm worked in more spectacular libraries, but this one has always been home." It really was a dream come true for him to be back here and working here.
His green eyes rested on her for a moment as she flushed and he pushed away something as she spoke again.."I thought you did well, even my niece who is A Ravenclaw here at the school was having trouble with those riddles." Azura had had him send her the riddles so she could see if she could figure them out.. So far she hadn't been having much luck..
He tilted his dark head as she spoke and pushed his bangs out of his eyes as he looked back over the library shelves in thought.. "Riddles and linguistics hmmm?" He put a hand on his chin as he turned back to her.. "I think we have a few things, would you like magical or muggle books? I can provide both. " He asked her with a smile. Louise found herself lost in his words and it took a moment to regain her center of balance. So he was a Hogwarts native and a part of her wondered how many of Hogwarts Professors attended this school? She knew that Hawthorne didn't, the woman having taught at Ilvermorny in her first five years. But then the other part of her, didn't really care where Hogwarts Professor and Staff received their education; they weren't her professors and after a few months, most of them would be gone from her path. And yet, standing here, in Kalen's haven, made her realize she didn't want him to be gone from her life. "Nothing like home," Louise said quietly, thinking that while she enjoyed her seven six years at Ilvermorny, she was ready to move on. Maybe in few years she might regret it, but the real world was calling.
Ah, he was being rather kind again, but niece? That made her wonder again how old he was, and yet, there were people who were teenagers who became aunts and uncles. So really, having a niece who was old enough to attend Hogwarts had no bearing on how old he was, right? She didn't know much about the Hogwarts Houses, which made her regret not trying on the sorting hat as some of her counterparts had done, but she did know Ravenclaws tended to be witty much like the Horned Serpents that Kyle and Aurora were. "How old is your niece?" Because if she was eleven or twelve, maybe that explained the trouble? And yet, she was pretty sure she knew twelve year olds who could have figured the riddles out faster than herself, so ... maybe not.
Tucking her dark hair behind her ears, she followed his gaze to the library shelves before back to him and nodded. "MM, yes, riddles and linguistics. Both would probably be good." Merlin, he was cute.

Merlin, he was cute. Kalen regarded the girl for a moment as she stood in front of his desk. Despite not knowing her for very long, he found her presence in the library comforting or perhaps.. exciting? He wasn't sure what the feeling was.. but he had to ignore it for now. For a couple of months at least. Though she would be off back to America and the chances of...
He stopped those thoughts in their tracks as she spoke again. "Mmm, nothing like it. Are you missing home Miss Hamilton? Or are you glad to have an adventure this year? " He asked her rather curiously. He wouldn't know how he would have felt leaving Hogwarts for another school in his last year, but he wasn't super adventurous.
Unless the school had a good library that is.
Oh! She was asking how old Azura was. "She's 16 actually, she's my eldest brothers daughter. " He explained a bit, and he was the second youngest, but really he didn't need to go right into the Kennedy family history right at that moment. She didn't need a full blown run down of everything that had happened, yeah?
He smiled at her as she spoke and he nodded. "Both it is. " He inclined his head as he turned and waved his fingers at the library shelves and almost instantly several books came flying across the library towards him, he deftly caught them and smiled as he arranged them. |

Who would have thought that on her adventure abroad this year she would have found excitement in a staff member? Sure most of her peers were interested in seeing what the Hogwarts boys had to offer, but to Louise, they were really the same as Ilvermorny boys. Just that.... but brushing those thoughts aside.
Was she missing home? "Of course, I miss home," Louise smiled, shaking her head. "But, I'm also glad to have gained this opportunity to see another school. And most importantly, another country. If I don't get the scholarship," which she didn't need anyway, "I've actually been considering taking an off year for some traveling." Which might include more of Europe, depending...
Hmm, his niece was sixteen? Eldest brother's daughter? Which meant what as far his own age? Yes she could have just asked him, but this was more amusing to the Thunderbird to try to deduce it. Also, sixteen and had trouble with the riddle, which definitely made her feel better about the challenge. "Oh, almost graduating soon." Well, in two years, but that was closer to when she started school....
Smiling when he retrieved the books, she pulled them toward her. "Thank you. I'll have them back by the end of the month." And she was monopolizing enough of his time. "So I guess, I'll see you."

Somehow the encounter seemed a bit too short for Kalens taste, but he nodded as she pulled the books towards her person. "You are most welcome Louise. " He said, letting her name slip out.
Eh.. it wasn't like he was her teacher and they weren't in class, it was just the library. "That sounds perfect, I hope they help you in what you are looking for. " He said as he he pushed some of his hair out of his eyes and nodded. "I'll see you around. Good luck in the next challenge. " He said with a warm smile at her. |
