Dungeon Corridor
|
Cobwebs and mold might be the death of Sylvia. The dungeon corridor was one of her least favorite places to clean but someone had to do it and that brave and hardworking someone was her. There was a soft duster in her hand as she tackled the cobwebs as she sang a happy tune. There was nothing quite like a song to help with chores particularly if it involved this dark corridor. One of her kneazles, Melody who had accompanied her, brushed gently against her ankles. Soon she was forgetting that she was working in this creepy corridor. |
open post!!! Dude. These dungeons were SO drab. Every time Zoryn had to go to Potions she had to walk by the ugly dungeon walls. It was awful. Felt like a prison down here, which was probably why they kept the detentions down in the dungeons, but STILL. Why did she have to walk by this gross place on her way to class almost every day? It was a TRAVESTY. Truly something she had been meaning to talk to the Headmistress about, but she had quickly learned the value in begging for forgiveness rather than asking for permission.... Which was why she didn't ask before taking this revamp matter into her own hands. Own hands meaning she stole some painting supplies from the Creative Practice Room in the Charms classroom... Because today, she was painting the dungeon walls full of LOTS of happy, bright, AWESOME colors. Ew, was that a spider web?!?! The caretaker REALLY needed to work on that. Anyways, she dipped her paintbrush into some bright red. First things first, she was going to paint a rainbow across this door. Roy g biv. Red came first. With one swift motion, she painted a LARGE red arch across the dungeon doorway. The people who got stuck in detention were SO gonna thank her for this. |
With spring settled down nicely outside, making the grounds look green and flowery once more, it was harder and harder to spend any unnecessary time locked in the castle. Particularly the dungeons. As a Slytherin, she had some degree of appreciation for them but really, the only good part was the common room. And the secret passage, since it made life easier in more ways than one. But yes. The outside. Flowers and green grass and birds chirping and the sun. The Scottish sun but beggars couldn't be choosers. She nearly walked past the peculiar scene, focused as she was in her own thoughts, but -- well, paint had a very strong, characteristic smell, didn't it? The Slytherin stopped in her tracks and turned around, in one movement. "What the--" Frowning, she slowly approached the girl and frowned, confused. "What are you doing?" Was this one of Myers' plans to brighten up the dungeons or something? Did Hawthorne know? |

The red wasn't as pigmented as the first year had hoped, so it took several coats to get the DESIRED effect. But after redoing it over and over again... IT WAS SO PERFECT!!! Zoryn was PUMPED. The success of her first layer of color only encouraged her to continue her work. Next she dipped a brush into some BRIGHT orange paint, and continued on with her rainbow work. LA LA LA. Man, Professor Potions would LOVE this. Would it be a good idea to prepare herself for all the service awards Hogwarts would award her for her hard work? Probably, yes. It was only then when Zoryn's thoughts were interupted by the sound of someone's voice. And not just any someone's... IT WAS LEVI KENNING'S GIRLFRIEND AND QUIDDITCH SUPER STAR DAISY. OMG. Zoryn flashed the older girl a CONFIDENT smile. "Bettering the world with my artistic vision," she nodded. Mhm. "Wanna help?" She held out a brush. |

Yes, it was a very boring common room, indeed. What wasn't boring, however, was whatever was happening right here! Bettering the world. Surprised, Daisy laughed unabashedly at that and approached the girl, eyes squinting at her, in her own words, 'artistic vision'. "I have to say, I rather like it, Miss Spinnet." Yes, she still didn't know her first name but that was what the professors called her. Eventually, she would figure out her first name without having to ask and, hopefully, without having to admit to not having listened to her commentary to the third challenge at all. Priorities, and all of that. But yes, she wanted to help. Duh. Smiling widely, the Slytherin took the brush on offer and studied the colours once more. Red. Orange. Was this random or was she painting a rainbow? "Alright, you're the boss. What do I do?" |

Zoryn let out a LOUD giggle. "You sound like a Professor," no one except Professor's called her Miss Spinnet... Though, she had to admit... It had a nice ring to it. Made her sound all old and official. COOL. "It's part of my initiative to beautfy the school," she nodded. "Just 'cause this place is ANCIENT doesn't mean it's got to LOOK ancient." Plus, if Zoryn was about to continue attending classes and walking around these corridors everyday, it was about time that they started looking pretty. She couldn't just stare at ugly walls. That would be TRAGIC. The Gryffindor's smile grew even BIGGER at Daisy's offer to join in. YEEEEEEES. Ahem. "Well, I'm working on a big rainbow," as the girl could probably see. Red and orange, Zoryn was VERY systematic. Sort of. "Soooooo... You can take a brush and uh.... " She tilted her head, as if inspecting the wall to see what would look best for the area. "Maybe some landscape? Or a mural of me, you, AND LEVI." Zoryn liked the latter option best, but she wasn't quite sure how well Daisy could paint. "Are you good at drawing stuff?" This was a very important project they were working on here, after all. |
