It might come as a relief to notice that the location of the Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson is in its usual place. After all, trying to do a lesson outside in the April showers just wasn't worth it.
Despite the weather, the classroom looked bright and well-lit, giving you the chance to notice the things that were in the room and the things that weren't. No desks, no chairs and not even Hirsch's desk stood in this room. In fact, it was lacking so many pieces of equipment that it almost made the room look bigger.
Something that might surprise you is the lack of mats or cushions in this room as well. Instead, the floor of the classroom seemed to be softer than usual, as if extra padding had been added to it and thereby making it comfortable enough to sit on.
But the biggest change in the room? Rocks.
Standing on the other side of the room and where Hirsch's desk should've been were an array of rocks. The rocks ranged in size: from the smallest ones that you could hold under your arm, to the larger ones that were almost the size of an average fifth year. The largest rock was a gigantic one that had the smoothest exterior by far and almost reached up to the ceiling itself. The more observant people might notice something purple sitting at the very top of the rock but that's not something to concern yourselves with now.
Hirsch himself can be seen leaning against the largest rock, looking as cool and collected as ever and waiting for, well, you.
So come in, make yourselves comfortable and wait for the lesson to start.
OOC: Please make sure you're familiar with Hirsch's rules as well as the SS site rules before posting. Class will continue tomorrow (eveningtime GMT+1) Hope you have fun! ^^

Ava couldn't help but glared at Zoryn and the unknown Slytherin guy. Seriously, were they currently in lovers quarrel or something? She could feel that there was such a bad vibe between these two. Like she had suspected, there must've been something behind why this guy wanted to join the team.
But eh, whatever. She would just ignore it.
But the Gryffindor rolled her eyes when snakey guy asked them what should he do. Didn't he listen to Noelle's words? Goodness. "Basically we're going to make holes on the rock, buddy. A good one so our climber could make it as a grip for the climbing." She answered coolly. Let's see if he could be useful for their team or not. Still they needed to decide who's going up that. Ava still thought to not letting the young students to climb there due to the safety, but using the small person could be an advantage too because smaller person usually quicker, right? Her mind then changed because Stasya didn't seem mind to climb the rock. "Okay, Stasya. You will be the climber." She nodded agreeing. "Don't forget the helmet and gloves... and tell us where should we cast the spell." Because the young lioness would've known where exactly they should set the rock grip.
Okay, maybe she sound like she overstepped the prefect's words now but well, she's just pumped and wanted to help more.
"We should start making holes for starters. We're already behind, guys." Because the other groups had started climbing. Taking her wand out from the holster, Ava cast the bludgeoning hex about three feet tall from the ground because it seemed good for Stasya's left foot to start the climb. "Labefactum!" Until there was a nice hole that would fit the climber's foot. "Noelle, I think you should make the hole like.... There." She pointed to a spot, about five feet tall from the ground because it seemed reachable for the climber. "And you too, snake guy. Only you cast it on the left above mine." She just suggested.

Okay good. Things were going better than what she thought they would be going.
Noelle looked around at the ground and was about to tell Ava that she thought it would be better if the ickles went up. For multiple reasons. One being that they were smaller and could climb faster. Two being because Noelle, Ava, and maybe even Jonas (seeing as she didn't know how well of a caster he was) could handle if she fell. Arresto Momentum was a spell she didn't know if the younger years had together yet.
But she didn't say anything because Stasya was already okay with going up. "Right then, Stasya while youre getting the helmet and gloves, we will start making the holes."
Noelle glanced at Little Z who had promised she could do a hole. "Alright Z. Let's see your skills. Key is to focus on your intent." She said giving the girl a hopeful and proud grin. She could do it. Noelle believed in her. Besides, it was good practice.
As much as Noelle wanted to do it nonverbally, she figured saying it out loud the first couple times would probably prove more faster than straining to do it nonverbally, and since they were all working on the holes, it would be faster and they could get Stasya up the mountain and WIN! ahem..
Noelle pointed her wand at the spot that Ava had said, she waved her wand in the correct fashion and then said, "Labehfactum" with a clear intent on what she wanted to do. A crack appeared in the rock. Noelle said it again, spreading the crack until it was a nice sized hole. She knew once you did it once, it gave you that confidence you needed to do it.
She pointed her wand higher, starting to make a path that Stasya could climb. This time she tried nonverbally. It took a few times to make the hole but her confidence was growing.

Yay! Vivian beamed at the two older Slytherins, because now she had their blessings to part of their cool Snakey squad. And of course, this blonde was always with Sky. Just sayin'. On top of that, she didn't mind that Sky was their climber. Though it would have been fun to be the one climbing all the way up, she smiled and eyed the rock. "Careful, Sky," the fourth year said with a wink. Wouldn't want Brent to cry over his looooove, right? The floor was soft, so there's that. There will be no injuries in this lesson, thanks.
Vivian looked over at the older Slytherin girl. She was sure she had seen her in their common room. Just that her name had escaped her... so the fourth year was going to try to avoid any use of names for the moment. "Okidoki," she said, beaming at the older blonde and then focused her eyes on the rock this time, about two feet above the ground as what the girl had said.
Yeah, she got this. "Labehfactum!" Vivian said, with the clockwise circular motion and flick of her wand. There was the first foothold, so Sky could step on that one first. "Labehfactum! Labehfactum!" And a few more after that. Go on, Sky, climb and reach for the... err... sky.

Jonas rolled his eyes at the girl who glared at him. Yeah. Love quarrell huh? No. Not really. Just that Jonas loved making people annoyed. Especially Zoryn because she was a bratty little kid. But he didn't say that. Insteaid, he just looked at Ava.
"Yeah. I got it now." He said. "Jonas. By the way." He said.
Pointing his wand left above Ava's rock hole, he decided to use verbal spells. It would be a lot easier in the long run then concentrating as much. Moving his wand in a clockwise circle, he called out "Labectum!"
Aha! See? It was easier!
There was no use learning something she didn't practice. Vivienne took her rock and backed up against the wall. She then cleared the space in the middle.
Next, she was going to... rock climb? Oh god no! She split up into a group of four. She was going for gift cards or sweets for sure. She wanted it now!
She cast the Bludgeoning Hex on the rocks to create footholds. But she couldn't use Accio? No fair! She didn't need to cast a single spell! She had to wear a helmet and gloves which she got from the professor.
Vivienne was doing the climbing and Nicholas was going to do the spell casting. She sure needed lots of accuracy and control for this! She didn't want to break her back! But then there was the floor...

There needed to be some pattern to this, some structure and form. And Skylar was their climber.
"You focus on climbing, Skylar, or you'll end up getting in our way and we'll take off some toes or something." Not really, but she wanted the girl to be careful. "Vivi, why don't you work on some footholds starting about two feet off the ground. Um... Lupin, you work at the middle, and I'll start right above your spot."
She pointed her wand about mid-way up. "Labehfactum."

Huh? What did Katy say now? Focus on climbing? Oh ... oh ... Well she supposed she could do some stretching while she was waiting for the first couple footholds to be ready. Because there would be nothing worse than being stiff as she was trying to reach for the next place to grab; not that she was usually stiff at age fourteen but best to be prepared anyway. Stretching her arms in particular, behind her head and across, she wriggled her fingers a little too for good measure.
Okay, she was nice and loose.... was it time to start climbing?
Vivian had made some cracks, as had Oliver and Katy ... they could make more while she was climbing, yes?
"Shall I start?" A question more for the older snake female, who seemed to be the ringleader in their group.
And yes, Vivian, she was always careful. Except when she wasn't.

Kitty beamed at the newest member in their team, a fourth year from her own house with an excellent idea for their team name. "Team Avenger? Cool. Welcome to the Avengers, Kirk." Yep, she watched Muggle superhero movies too.
As Henry went off to collect his supplies, she took a stab at planning a strategy with Kirk. "Hirsch never said we had to perform non-verbally for the game, so I think we should go all in verbally. Personally I was only able to make a few cracks doing it non-verbally, so we'll be last if we try that." Not that the Ravenclaw prefect was overly competitive, but she didn't see any reason for complicating things.
When Henry came back with the gloves and other supplies, Kitty smiled and said, "Let's try this. Hang on, I'll do the first one." She pointed her wand at an area of the rock about four feet off the ground. "Labehfactum!!!" she pronounced loudly and clearly, twirling a little more than needed for affect. The area she hit was shoved inward a good inch and a half.
She beamed. That would be a good start, and then Kirk could make the next hole for Henry.

"Labehfactum. Labehfactum." Katy focused on those handholds she'd already created, trying to make them deep enough so that Skylar could get a good grip as she climbed. The higher she went, the more important it was that those handholds were enough to get Skylar to the top. And fast. Move it, Skylar-kiddo.
She gave the kid... Vivi? She gave Vivi a nod at her good work so far. Excellent foothold work so far.
"Get on with you, Skylar. Go slow but don't stop. And don't look down." She didn't mean to be especially bossy, but there was a great lack of focus at the moment. Katy turned her attention back to their great stone wall, which was looking much less smooth now that they'd started to attack it with gusto. Another handhold, then? "Labehfactum. Labehfactum. Labehfactum.." Nice.

Neat. They were a team now, a small one, but one nonetheless. Kirk glanced at the others around the room, but decided to keep focus on the task at hand, getting to the top. Shooting the spells at the wall, he could do that. Henry was gonna climb, makes sense. "That's cool, I imagine you'd get up there faster with your height." He had him by a few inches so there would be a difference. "I guess we'll be going double time then." Had to keep up with the climbs.
Anyways, now it was time to get to work. "Right, we got this." Kirk nodded at cleared his throat for a moment, before aiming slightly higher and over to the side for his other foot. Repeating the proper wand movement while concentrating before repeating, "Labehfactum!" It took a few moments until the crack appeared before it pushed itself inward enough space for support. Now for another one for his hand to grip. "Labehfactum!" Repeating it for another handheld spot. At this point it was just keep aiming and shooting the spell.

"Okay team! Let's do this!" He laughed. She told him the instructions. He narrowed his eyes slightly. He knew that that wasn't the actual instructions. But, he shrugged and started with the hand holds. Pointing his wand, he concentrated at the rocks. He half wondered why they didn't use defindo. But he shook his head. He needed to focous.

She didn’t see how she could contribute when she pretty much hadn’t been able to make a decent crack in her other rock. Little baby cracks weren’t good foot or hand holds, so maybe she ought to just sit the activity out. She could ask Professor Hirsch if there was something else she could do. She could hang out with Liv…but she really sort of wanted to get to try to climb the rock.
And then she’d heard her name and looked over at Noelle. “Okay,” she said, walking over to where the prefect was, along with Ava, Zoryn and the Slytherin boy she didn’t know. Maybe she should tell her that she’d failed at cracking her other rock. Except then maybe they wouldn’t want her on their team and that was sad to think about. She didn’t like failing at things, and she really didn’t like failing at competition-like things.
Listening to Noelle’s plan, she’d just quietly nodded. That sounded like a good plan, since she figured the prefect and Ava could manage the spell and Zoryn had promised she could too. She didn’t know anything about the Slytherin boy, except he already looked like he was ready to cast the spell too. Maybe that left her to climb, and she knew she could. Even if, now that she thought about it, the rock was awfully big and it kind of reminded her of the tree in the forest Emmeline had fallen off.
Except the floor here was bouncy and she totally trusted that Professor Hirsch wouldn’t let her fall. Maybe. “I can climb. Really,” she tried to say when Ava had doubted it. She could. Even if technically she’d never tried before. “And Professor Hirsch said he has helmets and stuff.” She’d be okay. She was determined. And she had squirrel knowledge and squirrels were really good at climbing.
But there might’ve been a quick glance in Emmeline’s direction too. Maybe she remembered the forest too.

Zoryn nodded loads when Noelle spoke. Mhm. Intent. Focus. Yeah. Okay. Got it.
Not really.
Zoryn definitely did not know what she was doing, nor was she confident in her spell casting abilities. However, she had just announced to her whole team that she was really good at the spell. Soooooooooo.... It would definitely seem as if she was in a predicament. Well. This was bad.
There was also no turning around at this point. HA HA HAHAHA HA.
Good. This was GREAT.
She noticed the others beginning to make the holes in the rock, and watched them curiously. Annnnnd that's when the lightbulb went off. All she had to do was perfectly time her own spell with that of someone else's. That way, it would appear as if hers actually worked when really it would just be the successful result of someone else's spell.
Did someone say, Ravenclaw material?
Timing her own spell to that of the Slytherin boy's she spoke loudly, "Labectum!" HA. His spell worked. Aaaaaaand it sort of looked like it could've been hers too? She tried to time the next one with Noelle's, "Labectum!"

"Ava Burton, welcome to the team and let's get down to business." Ava said to the Snake guy (and probably would still refer him as snake guy until the class ended.) She watched Noelle casting the spell confidently and a smile appeared on her face. Sure that Ava wouldn't doubt her bestie performance since she was like SO GOOD in Defense Against the Dark Arts and had become her personal non-verbal coach. Then she observed how Zoryn and Jonas did that.
Woah woah woah.... Wait.
What did they just say?
"Guys, it's Labefactum. Not Labectum." The older Lioness reminded them. How could they successfully perform the hex if the incantation was wrong?? Lucky that she was still being patient teaching these two. "Like this. Labefactum!" Ava made a clockwise circular motion and flicked her wand to the point where Jonas had cast the wrong charm before. There. A crack appeared on the rock and hopefully it's good enough for Stasya's grip. She did the same at Zoryn's point of crack too.

They were starting to make a path up the rock. Noelle grinned proudly at her team but yes....she did see some lacking. Ava set the younger students straight about the right wording for the incantation. They needed that to be able to do it the right way.
And yes, she saw you Little Z.
Noelle quirked a brow and gave a little amused but 'I-see-you' look to Z while everything was going on. "Confidence is key." Noelle said as she said the incantation out loud for them and made another hole for Stasya to be able to grab. Demonstration.
"That and practice." Which meant that they actually needed to at least try to do the incantation. Ahem. Little Z.
But she couldn't help but giggle at the little lioness. Her tactics. Her and James would get along splendidly. They reminded her of each other in little ways. Total Gryffindors though.
"Alright team! We can do this!" Noelle said taking a look around the room and seeing people making headway. Did Noelle mention that she was competitive?? "Lets concentrate on making these holes for Stasya! Confidence. Intent. Focus!" Noelle concentrated on her nonverbals again. The cracks were getting a little wider with each nonverbal she practiced.
Surely Stasya would be back shortly to start climbing!

"In this case, hitting them is probably the best thing you can do, apart from running away. And is the basis of the lesson today so well done!" Smile. "And good inclusion of the rocks here." Was the setup starting to make sense?
Hitting them? But Derf had like...REALLY tiny scrawny arms, professor. Or maybe the Hufflepuff was taking the man too literally. That was entirely possible. He was pretty decent at throwing - he could be a chaser, you know? - so MAYBE he could throw a rock or something at a troll's head and do some damage. LIKE if he hit them in the EYE. Other than that...yeah...running seemed like the best option.
So Derf simply smiled and nodded. Smiiiiiiiiled and nodded.

"Today, we're going to be practising that spell on," He paused dramatically to gesture around him. "rocks! I want you to grab a rock, any size you fancy, and start practising the spell on it from a distance. The larger the rock, the harder it'll be to break and so, the more determination you need to make the spell work." Something to keep in mind. "You'll know if it's working if the spell causes the rock to crack and, if it's more powerful, maybe even break apart completely."
Was he missing something? Er.
"NEWT students: I want you to try and cast the spell verbally and then non-verbally. That goes for fifth years if you're already trying non-verbal magic or you want to start trying." The option was there. "Everyone else: verbal magic, please. I'm going to give you......." He paused to glance down at his watch. "10 minutes!"
"Ready? GO!"
SPELLWORK!
The giddy eager expression on the second year's face quickly faded when he saw that it was a fourth year spell. Uuuuuuuuh. Fudgesticks. The only "advanced" spell Derf had managed to somewhat master was Slugulus Eructo - although he had YET to get that to actually hit anyone come duel time. BUT HE WAS OPTIMISTIC. So...just to be safe...the Hufflepuff wasn't going to even try performing the spell properly. Not entirely giving up exactly, but accepting defeat rather. He knew his limitations and a fourth year spell as a second year (arguably with the casting ability of a first year) was just not going to happen no matter the determination, you know?
"La-be-h-fa-c-tum," he enunciated, most likely incorrectly. "Lab-eh-fac-tum...Labeh-fact-um..."
He even pocketed his wand at this point.
"LabehFACTum..."

"You have....." He glanced down at his watch, "twenty minutes. Ready? GO!"
Aaaaaaaand they were moving on. At least he felt SOMEWHAT confident in the incantation, which was more than he could say with some other spells he SHOULD know for his age. The Hufflepuff's apprehension had him lingering in his seat a little longer than anticipated...long enough that most people seemed to group off and tackle the task with impressive efficiency. Sigh...he wished he could be of USE this activity. Just...standing watching was really embarrassing. Surely there was some way he could help...
"I'll group with you," he grinned when he heard Emmeline. He hadn't really been paying attention as to whether or not SHE could perform the spell - he assumed not, no offense - and then his blue eyes darted around until they fell upon Dora's friend Sam who was like...SUPER impressive herself, you know? She had been in that CAGE thing for Dora's sake and stuff and like...it was really really neat and inspiring to have a strong enough connection like that with someone. Made Derf wonder who would have been in the cage for him. Infatuation told him Valerie Gray but his Hufflepuff heart said otherwise Abey. "OH OH OH SAM! Join us?!" he pleeeeeeeaded to the older Ravenclaw. "Uh...can I climb?" Since he was rubbish at the spell. "I'm a great climber. Do it all the time with the trees-s-s on the Golden Snidget reservation Hazel lives!" And only feel out of the tree once.
Okay twice.
Okay...three times.
Maybe four.
BUT TOTALLY A GREAT CLIMBER BECAUSE EVERY TIME HE FELL HE GOT RIGHT BACK UP AGAIN!

Vivian tried to avoid sending the bludgeoning hex at places on the rock that were near Sky and the other students. Though, well, it was a little hard considering she needed to focus on a certain spot to make sure nobody got hurt. This blonde didn't want that to happen, oh no. So whenever Sky went up, she tried her best to find a convenient spot for her that didn't have to put her at risk of getting injuries.
"Lahbefactum!" She sent another one with the clockwise circle and flick of her wand, just a few inches above Sky's head. Phew! But the more her dorm mate went up higher, the more Vivian got nervous. It met she was higher up the ground and, even if the floor was cushioned and charmed thanks to Professor Hirsch, she still didn't want anyone falling off the rock any time today...or ever.
Hmm. Chill, Vivian. "Labehfactum!" The blonde sent one last hex, making sure Sky had enough deep footholds to reach the middle of the rock, where the male Slytherin -- she heard the older blonde call him 'Lupin', like the wolf -- had his footholds. He wasn't assigned to the middle, yeah? "I... I think that's good enough for my part, at least." She'd just be vigilant to add extra footholds in case accidents happened, so her hand still gripped around her wand.
The blonde bit her lower lip. C'mon, Diggory. Ya got this.

"Oh yeah. Right. Thanks." Jonas said.
He sighed and looked at the progress so far for a bit. They were all doing good. Jonas tried again.
"Labefactrum!" He called out turning his wand at a point above the hand/foothold.

What Hirsch found amusing more than anything else was the fact that a large number of these students were teaming up based on houses. It didn't bother him and he certainly hadn't clarified but he almost expected there to be a bunch of first and second years teaming up to take on the rest of the school.
But was that the case? Not at all.
As always, the man wandered around the class, occasionally pausing to look at the way a team worked. This was a test of teamwork as well as spellwork, after all. There were also shouts of "Be careful of the falling debris!" and "Make sure to flick your wand at the end." but no other interruption was made.
Noelle Summers did, however, earn herself a proud grin and a thumbs up from the man when she mentioned intent.
But no interruptions. Nothing apart from a quick glance at his watch which led to......
"You have five minutes left! Just the five!" So it wouldn't be a bad idea to start climbing, if they haven't already.
OOC: You guys are doing such a great job!
You have roughly 6 hours left! Keep up the amazing work! <3

He glanced at Zoryn again.
"Just concentrate, make sure yours pronouncing the incantation right too." he said.

Zoryn was secretly thankful that Jonas was being nice BUT ONLY SECRETLY 'cause she was still holding a grudge from CoMC last year. Mhm. Get the incantation right. Okay. Yeah, EASY. Again she did EXACTLY as Jonas, "Labectum!" Pointing her wand where, of course nothing happened. A) Because it was the wrong incantation entirely (though she wouldn't know because she was copying everything the boy was doing) and B) She hadn't actually gotten it to work a single time throughout the whole lesson, even when she did say it correctly. lol.
Then Ava happen.
Oopsie???
HOW WAS SHE SUPPOSED TO KNOW IT WAS WRONG???? SHE WAS ONLY COPYING EVERYONE ELSE!!!!
And that's what you get for cheating, probably. Was it a lesson learned? No, not exactly. 'Cause right when the older Gryffindor turned to create more holes in the rock, Zoryn began doing the same thing as before. Only with the right spell this time.
She held out her wand right when Noelle held out hers and went, "Labefactum!" (With no result, mind you). But if one weren't paying super close attention, maybe they'd mistake Noelle's newly made hole for Zoryn's. Mhm.
Perfect plan was PERFECT.
She hated this a lot.
Like she LOVED DADA. But this was soooooo hard!!! She coudln't get the spell right, which typically wasn't a problem when they were doing individual work.. But Ava kept yelling at them and Noelle was super competitive (albeit, MUCH nicer than the other girl). Had Zoryn not been too caught up in pretending like she knew what she was doing, she would've burst into tears instead.
But she was occupied with acting. So no crocodile tears, fortunately for Professor H. "Labefactum!" Again, she timed it with Ava's spell.

Once he returned to his little group, Henry strapped on his helmet and pulled on his gloves as he listened to his teammates' game plan. Okay... should he wait for them to finish with all the footholds and hand grips before he got started or...? Maybe not. If he waited too long to get climbing, the other teams would surely beat them. But he didn't want to get hit with any misdirected spells or falling debris.
"Okay, I'm ready," he informed them after they blasted a few spots in the rocks for them. "Just, uh.. be careful not to hit me, okay?" he added with a chuckle.
Alright, this was going to be awesome. Henry eagerly bounded over to the rock pile and reached his hand to the first blasted crevice, testing it a moment before pulling himself up to the next one. One more, and then he'd have to wait for the rest of his team to keep blasting at the rock before he could get much higher.

Unsurprisingly, Olivia was pretty sad about not being able to participate. She'd pushed herself off to the side of the room, watching as her friends and other assorted peers shot magic and climbed. Nah, climbing didn't seem that strenuous, but Healer's orders were Healer's orders. Besides, they were already following her around the castle and keeping and extremely close eye out. It seemed less of a headache to just concede.
Of course, this wasn't to suggest that she hadn't snagged a few rocks...which sat in front of her now. Performing magic wasn't the issue. Liv was still capable and talented with her defensive spells, but she had to take it easy. So, creating indentations in the small rock seemed....safe enough....Without being in the fray of her peers. Also, climbing probably wouldn't have been that fun for her head. Considering her dizzy spells. Helmets or not, it would've been a lot of getting unnecessarily knocked around.
Making sure her notes were complete, the blonde started focusing on the actual spell. Labefactum. Could these incantations get any funkier?
It was just practicing. For now. Enunciating out the incantation and shifting her wand around to mimic what Professor Hirsch had done with his. And since it was supposed to be more complex in the difficulty department, she didn't think the extra practice went amiss.

Jonas snorted at the fact that he was pronouncing the spells wrong the whole time. He shruggged. Oh well. Five minutes to finish huh? He blinked and nodded
.
"Oy! Be careful up there!" he shouted to the climbers.

Honestly, Stasya had expected more of an argument about who was going to be doing the climbing, but instead, it all seemed to just go her way. At least, Ava had taken back her thought that it ought to have been her or Noelle doing the climbing, and she was secretly grateful for that. She still wasn’t sure she’d be able to contribute, besides climbing, so as she’d been given permission, she had ran off to get a helmet and the gloves that Professor Hirsch had said they had to wear if they were climbing. That only cemented her theory that he really wasn’t going to let any of them get hurt, too. She knew he was like that, no matter what others might think. Just like she knew her parents weren’t dark just because they’d gone to Durmstrang.
She’d noticed Derf joining Emmeline in a group as she’d made her way back over to her own group, too, and she’d given him a big grin. Yay for Emmeline not being left out, even though she still wondered if her best friend was remembering the tree. Even she had a little bit of worry, but she was trying not to let it hurt her or her group.
“Okay, I’m ready!,” she said as she got back to the side of the big rock the others had gathered at, getting excited again when she saw the holes they’d already managed to make for her. Now it was time for her to be like Dobby, and she’d started to climb even as Professor Hirsch had spoken again, telling them the lesson was almost over. Nooo. She wanted to climb. Therefore, she just kept on climbing, although she also listened to the advice to avoid any falling debris. Climbing, climbing, climbing. Was this really what it was like being a squirrel?

Hirsch glanced down at his watch every now and then. Though his face didn't show it, he was feeling a mix of both nervousness and excitement as the time ticked closer towards the end of the lesson. He almost considered letting them stay here to continue if they wanted to but something told him that, once the bell rung, no one would want to stand around rock climbing when they could be eating lunch, instead.
Olivia Phillips deciding to stay out of the way and not participate in the activity hadn't gone unnoticed, either. He shot a smile and a nod at her, silently glad. Besides, he had no doubt that she would master the spell.
Time ticked on and, before he knew it, the last five minutes were coming to a close. Putting his thumb and finger between his mouth, the man let out a loud whistle in an attempt to get everyone's attention.
"Time's up! Please lower your wands and stop casting. If you're in the middle of climbing, start climbing down again." He waited a few moments for the climbers to do just that. When there wasn't anyone near the top of the rock, the man pointed his wand up at the basket sitting at the top and summoned it. The basket flew and, with a small OOMPH!, landed in his arms.
"That was an excellent display of teamwork as well as spellwork. Well done to all of you!" Smile. "That's all we have time for, I'm afraid, so if you've taken a helmet and a pair of gloves, please return them to the box. And since we don't have a winner......." He placed the basket down on the floor in front of him before taking a step back, "you're all welcome to take whatever you want from this basket of treats." Just don't be greedy, okay?
And with that, they were allowed to go.
OOC: EEEEEEEEEEEE
Thank you so much for coming! Whether it was for one part or the entire thing, it still means a lot to me that you came so thank you! I hope you enjoyed it
The basket has magical sweets in there as well as gift cards and coupons for Hogsmeade so feel free to pretend whatever you want. Just make sure it's something suitable for underage students.
I'm going to leave this thread open for 24 hours in case you want to post your charrie leaving. Thank you, once again! ^^
Jonas stopped casting and looked up to make sure everyone got down safely. He knew that Zoryn might not accept the treat but he just shrugged and went over to the basket. Taking a couple pumpkin passys and a gift card from hogsmede which had five sickles worth of money on it. He went up to Zoryn and held out a passy hoping she would take it.
Ooc:That should be right right? I looked it up and one sickle is about six dollars sooooo five sickles would be thirty dollars.

Oh, so now she was supposed to get started? Go slow and don't look down. Reaching up, she found herself easily able to grab hold of the first crack and pulled herself up carefully. And sideways glancing up and to the left and right made it easy to see where the rough parts in the rock were, making it easier for the fourth year to reach and stretch to get to the next one ...
... and the next... closing her eyes momentarily when bits of stone crumbled from overhead. Well, that was going to be a lovely look for her hair. Not. But she played quidditch, so bits of rock in hair would be nothing, right?
Just a slight jump to get to the one northeast of her and .....
"Time's up! Please lower your wands and stop casting. If you're in the middle of climbing, start climbing down again." She might have heard the five minute warning, but had sort of tuned that out as she was so focused on climbing and was ALMOST to the top, when she heard the definite "Time's Up!" which for some reason she couldn't tune out. And for some reason she looked down to see if time was really up or if she could make it to the top, but that brief second of looking down and that brief startling of Hirsch's voice, as she reached for the next holding, she misjudged and found herself falling backward ...
... falling until she reached the cushioned floor in which she found herself sprawled on her back. For the brief moment in paralyzed shock, before she smiled and sat up, laughing.
Could she do it again? And no, she didn't want any treats! She was kind of on an adrenaline rush from falling right about now.
