It was a week or so into term, and Paul hadn't held any sort of beginning of term party. He hadn't felt it was necessary, especially with Ilvermorny coming soon enough. They could have a gathering then. He had two ideas in mind. A tea party, or rather, a tea TASTING party (which...could very well still happen at some point) or...well, the second option.

Which Paul thought could be fun.

He took his wand out and gestured wildly at the common room. "DETRAVITAS!" he cried.

If this were a movie, there would a cool sound effect at this moment. However, Paul merely felt a jolt and...then light. Like, FEATHER LIGHT. And that was because this CHARM invented by none other than Airey Flamsteed took the gravity away from a room. All of the desks...chairs....everything started floating upward, but not at any fast sort of pace.

Everything was, exactly, weightless.

Including Paul. And his wand. And the his idea about letting loose SILVER GLITTER DUST, he suddenly realized, was a BAD idea, but the contain had slipped out his pocket. Paul made a swimming grab at it with his wand, and not only did he BLAST the thing open on accident, but his wand SHOT out of his hand. Wandless, and GLITTER billowing into the weightless air like squid ink under water, Paul was stuck. Because without his WAND he could not reverse the spell.

Well. Welcome party or not, the students would be returning soon, surely. Paul drifted in the opposite direction than his wand. Swimming towards it would do nOthing. THERE WAS NO GRAVITY TO HELP THE SITUATION. Paul wished he had a book...or something...Merlin. A chair bumped into his bum, and he attempted to twist around to give it a kick.

EVERYTHING WAS FLOATING WILLY NILLY IN THE COMMON ROOM CURRENTLY ALL RIGHT? THIS WAS DIFFICULT. ABORT. PAUL REGRETTED EVERYTHING.

Classes were over for the day and Henry was headed back to the common room to drop his books and things before he did anything else. Once he tapped his wand on the barrels, he headed in through the hidden corridor, but stopped just before fully stepping into the common room.

"What the-- ?" Everything that normally was on the floor or shelf or table was now floating in the air., including their head of house. "Professor, what's going on?"

Without giving it much thought, Henry took another step into the room and was swept up by the anti-gravity spell. "Oh, cool!" He laughed as he began to float and tried swimming through the air. Yes, of course he had done this in class before, but he wasn't completely sure why he was also doing it in the common room...? But it was a fun, unexpected surprise to greet him today.

Kimi entered the common room and saw that everything was floating even Professor Myers and then he remembered that he had read about an anti-gravity spell and thought that it looked cool and laughed out loud as he began to float like a balloon

George thought this was amazing! He just walked into the common room, (thought he'd have a read of fantastic beasts and where to find them) when he found he was flying! 'wingardium leviosa, I think' thought George 'that's the spell.' He really was a magic - nerd (well, that's what the slytherins called him anyway)!

Finally, when the magic had worn off, he sat down to read his book. Most of the other kids were off playing with their friends. Not George; his only friend was an owl called Quidditch, his Hogwarts pet. But Quidditch was out sending a message to George's mum all the way back in Wales! Then George was something drawn on the back of his book, a golden snitch. 'Must've been my younger sister, Truth' Speaking of golden snitches, how George longed to be a seeker when he grew up. Maybe his dream would come true one day.

Well!

Paul was waiting for his wand to come back to him, or for one of the students to help....but LOL. Henry stepped inside and was SUCKED into the anti-gravity spell, as well as Kimi. "Hello you two! As you can see...I um...I have provided some...floating fun for you all...totally on purpose...of course..."

Ahem.

"Please, if anyone can help me retrieve my WAND...that would be great." It would take some problem solving skills. "IT's...OVER YONDER!" he gestured wildly at the other corner of the common room. Paul was currently hanging upside down, only it didn't feel like it since GRAVITY was gone, and sitting in a yoga position. He might as well try to relax while he was hanging around.

"Ah, good evening, young George! It is good to see you, m'boy!" he smiled. "Come to join the fun?"

"Flying is pretty much my favorite thing, Professor," Henry told him with a grin as he tried to maneuver himself through the room. "But this is a little harder than steering a broom, even if it's just as fun," he added with a chuckle.

He took note of Kimi and one of the new first years (George) entering and floating up into the room too, and gave them a wave before turning back to their Head of House. Wait.. how did he get in that upside down position?

Henry was just about to try that himself when he heard the man's request. "Oh, uh.. sure.." He looked over to where he had been gesturing and did his best to start swimming through the air towards it.

How was George's heels over his head? I mean, George thought he new what spell was over him but he didn't know how to control it! He let a hyena-like giggle burst from his mouth. He could tell Hogwarts was definitely the right place for him! Then he saw a sixth year boy, a prefect Henry, wave at him. George waved back with a grin.
