| | Comfy Chairs by a Window Near a window on the far end of the Library, Kalen has placed several chairs and a few tables in case the students want to take advantage of the natural light. These windows, like the stained glass window have been charmed to remain light, no matter what the weather is outside..
Rain, sleet, fog or snow, these windows will be bright and sunny, so if the dark winter days are getting you down, come on in and settle down for some sun..
Again the warm sunlight may make one a bit sleepy, no one will wake you up, but be warned you might wake up with semi-permanent green or blue freckles..
Just sayin'
Happy Reading! |

"Ancient Runes? Yuck. I don't blame you for putting that off. I'm glad I don't take that class." That also meant, don't ask him for any help because he would be hopeless. "Potions," he answered. "It's not too hard I just needed a place where I could concentrate and finish it. Have you done the extra credit yet? I'm still deciding what exactly I want to do." Yuck? Hehe, she knew that not many students enjoyed Ancient Runes. But it was a quiet fun subject, a little difficult though. Not to mention that the headmistress was the one who taught the subject and she was amazing. "You're missing the fun, Olly. Also Headmistress Hawthorne is a good teacher for this subject." Ava admired that woman.
Ah yeah, the extra credit assignment. "Nope. I'm still deciding too on what potion should I brew. I wanted amortentia but I just want to know what would I smell, though. I don't need to test that potion to Phillip." The Gryffindor girl chuckled. Also, didn't the effect of love potion was not real? So why she had to use that to get some fake love if she already had a real one? Yeah, Ava is being cheesy again. "Maybe an elixir to induce euphoria? I know a perfect person to be a test subject for this."

Maybe he was onto something about the thinking on their toes, bit though. Maybe. It would kind of prove who was more... worthy or some such since they seemed to have thrown that word around a bit. A word that Dora, personally, didn't have much use for.
"That's true I guess. So long as I can concentrate on classwork, too." And the mention of Casper sent her all heart eyed again. Seriously, that boy... HER BOY. "Well... I don't know that we would get much work done," she said with a giggle. Because they would like be staring at eachother all love stricken like. Ahem. She was completely besotted with him, after all. "Are you finding your NEWT level classes pretty doable? I mean, they are harder, but not unbearable are they?"
Smiles! Henry got them. She liked that he was so happy and so was Char, ya know. Two people she liked were happy! YAY! And what was this? A double date? The blonde cocked her head to the side as she let it play out in her mind. Not too awkward. "I'll mention it to him, yeah. I am avoiding Hogsmeade for the time, but I could definitely make an exception for you lot," she agreed with a nod. "So what do you think of all of these AMericans around here?" Henry nodded a bit as Dora talked about what she knew of those similar historical tournaments. He couldn't really add all that much more to the conversation since he wasn't exactly a history buff and had already said all he knew on the subject. Or thought he knew. It would just be more speculation. "Yeah, you're right," he nodded. "It would be helpful to at least get an idea from past ones... but maybe you could look at the Tri Wizard tournament challenges for even just ideas." Even if this was a different tournament, it might still be similar in some ways. If he had been selected, it's probably what he would have done.
The sixth year had to laugh along with Dora's giggle. He was trying to be helpful with his suggestion, but he knew he'd likely have a hard time trying to focus if he was doing the same with Char. She was very distracting. "Okay, so maybe not my best idea. But I tried," he added with another little laugh. "Yeah, no, they're fine," he said about his classes. "A little harder, but nothing I can't handle. Plus, I'm not taking everything at NEWT level so it frees up my schedule a bit anyway."
Avoiding Hogsmeade? Henry wasn't completely sure that Dora was all that keen on the idea, and that was okay. It was just a thought. "Why are you avoiding Hogsmeade?" He was very curious about that. "Oh they seem alright. The ones I've met seem nice at least." They were much louder than his own classmates, but he didn't mind that energy at all. And they mostly kept to themselves anyway with their classes held in their own space.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Jesús Rodríguez Sixth Year | Levi. In the short amount of time that he'd been at Hogwarts, Jesús came to realize just how lacking the school really was. There was nothing of interest outside of the castle (save the hot springs and the igloo,) and the interior was just as lackluster. It's not that the sixth year made it a point to compare the two schools but, if he were completely honest with himself (which he most certainly was,) Ilvermorny surpassed Hogwarts in every way. Even the Beetle was far superior.
This only made Jesús frown, as he explored around the lower levels of the castle only to make his way up to the fourth floor. He hadn't meant to get that far up as he had been wrapped up in his thoughts throughout his walk. Jesús had also conveniently ignored any and all homework assignments for that week, because he was protesting half of his professors for some trivial reason that even he couldn't remember. It was all about the principle of the matter, though. When he paused in his gait, Jesús noticed that he was near the library. Surely, they would have a decent collection (something that would keep him preoccupied until he decided to acknowledge the unnecessarily large amount of work that he needed to finish) inside.
Jesús made his way inside, had spent a good amount of time searching for books, and made his way over towards the back. He was always grateful for secluded areas where he could sit in silence in order to think (and plot, mostly.) After placing the books on a table, he sat down and had decidedly plucked the first book from his pile and started to peruse through the table of contents.

He was always grateful for secluded areas where he could sit in silence in order to think (and plot, mostly.) After placing the books on a table, he sat down and had decidedly plucked the first book from his pile and started to peruse through the table of contents. Even if he had actually sort of missed the newness of his relationship with Daisy, Levi thought his break had been a pretty good one. He'd slept and eaten better than he'd had in months, and though there were some hiccups to his general happiness here and there (Takeru's pessimistic attitude, mostly) the sixth year couldn't say the bad outweighed the good. The break could have been at least a week longer, sure, but it'd come at such an opportune time that Levi had returned to the school in particularly good spirits.
Probably aided by the fact that his seventeenth candles were just around the corner, too, but. It wasn't like he had any specific plans, but it was certainly something to look forward to.
But the second challenge loomed in what was almost an immediate future and the day after returning from home, he found himself in the library. Levi collected several tomes before heading over to the nearest window, and the boy set them down on an already occupied table. A totally conscious move, to be sure; he'd been meaning to get to know some of his competition and Jesús was more or less at the top of the list. He appeared to be always contained and in total control, yet there was an intensity to his stance that had intrigued the Gryffindor boy. It was also possible that his interest was rooted on the fact that, along with Tejashree, the three of them were the splashes of color in the competition. But, who was thinking about that, really? "Hi, Jesús." Levi's Spanish was at an intermediate level on his very best days, but he'd practiced the name a few times. And the name came out in the same inflection someone from the Iberian coast would. "You don't mind the company, surely?" He didn't look particularly pleased at the moment, but Levi sat down anyway, hands automatically reaching for his books. "I'm Levi, by the way. I've been meaning to talk to you."

He didn't look particularly pleased at the moment, but Levi sat down anyway, hands automatically reaching for his books. "I'm Levi, by the way. I've been meaning to talk to you." He didn't know why but as he continued to scan the table of contents, Valerie came to mind. It had something to do with one of the chapter titles and it was something about how it reminded him of something she once told him a long time ago. Why he was remembering it now, he really couldn't be bothered to figure out. It made him frown again, and he sighed in frustration at the current state of his thoughts. Messy, messy, messy. Indeed. Jesús did not stir when he felt the table move slightly; he only looked up after a long moment (because he felt like it) and his frown was replaced with a smile at the sight of one very peculiar Levi Kenning.
The Thunderbird blinked a few times, trying to figure out what the boy just said, until he realized that Levi was actually pronouncing his name. The corners of his lips twitched upwards, and while he refused to laugh at the other boy for the how he pronounced the s in his name, his eyes could not conceal his amusement. "I'd like to say it's an honor, but," he slammed the book shut (dramatic was his true middle name) and placed it to the side, giving Levi his full attention, "it really isn't." He'd meant nothing by the comment, he just didn't want to give Levi the impression that he was putting on any airs during their conversation. Usually, he had just a little bit more tact than that, but the sixth year (Gryffindor, he was certain) didn't strike him as someone who would enjoy any sort of forced niceties.
So Jesús opted for a frank, unadulterated conversation.
"You've been meaning to talk to me," he repeated, rolling the words around in his mind. "Only after you assessed that I was actual competition, right?" He watched Levi carefully, a smile still on his lips, still very much amused by their light conversation. "Funnily enough, I've also been meaning to talk to you." There was something to be said about being one of the few students of color in the competition; Jesús thought it was extremely odd at the lack of diversity, but that was a battle he hoped to win on another day.

His eyebrows rose in slight surprise but his full mouth continued to tried to make his amusement obvious. Levi settled for biting down on his lower lip, and looked down to fetch a book on Egyptian curses and looking for its index. "Perhaps it'll be an honor by the time the conversation is over." He offered the other boy a one shoulder shrug and laughed, perhaps a little too loudly for the confines of the library. "I'm told I can be charming, or whatever. Something like that." Surely there was charm to be found in honesty, however brutal it might be.
And if Jesús Rodriguez could offer him the honesty Levi preferred, the least he could do was return it in kind. He looked up from the book, openly studying the American boy. "Yes." There was not a drop of shame in his tone. "There were sixteen of us before the first challenge, you see," He continued, allowing a small smile to curl. "I was not about to waste my days studying the other fifteen--not when I knew four of us would be cut out immediately." It was unfortunate that three out of four had been Hogwarts students but that was a story for another day. "Surely you understand."

Jesús watched Levi carefully; he was insanely curious about the other boy, and didn't actually know how or where to start dissecting. He studied the slight change in his expression, and chalked it up his own blunt way of speaking. At Levi's response, Jesús offered him a toothy grin. "I can see that," he remarked casually, leaning back into his chair. "It's almost always the attractive ones that are constantly told that." Again, he regarded the sixth year carefully, but in reality he felt that Levi was the most interesting person he'd encountered in Hogwarts so far.
Books forgotten, for the time being anyway, Jesús decided that he would focus his attention solely on the boy across from him. Because it was very interesting that Levi felt the need to track him down. He supposed Valerie would also find this exchange funny, and then wondered if Levi had sought her out as well. "What do you hope to gain from having a conversation with me?" A genuine inquiry. He didn't think Levi had any sort of malicious intent (and if he did, the conversation would've ended as soon as Levi greeted him,) but he didn't think that the other competitor was here for idle chat. So, what was his angle? "Who else do you have your eye on?"
