It’s a lovely afternoon in early December, snow is falling gently outside and despite the winter going on outdoors, the room you walk into is nice and warm due to a few heating charms Kalen has put into place.
You are greeted by blank wooden floors with a large wooden wardrobe at the far end of the space, completely overtaking the rear wall. A desk sits just to the right of where you enter and there are long, cushioned benches lining the left and right walls of the rectangular room.
The Librarian himself is leaning ever so casually against his desk, waiting for people to arrive with an easy grin on his face.
There is a blackboard behind Kalen that reads:

OOC: Welcome to the first book club of the year! Come on in, say Hi and we will continue in about 24 hours.. ish! Also please keep the noise down to minimum levels, this is still the library. Not to mention Kalen gets cranky when it's loud. Class has officially started! Feel free to join in as if your character was already here! Late arrivals will face IC consequences

Book Club Meeting! She was in.
Last year Olivia would have scoffed and sworn off ever venturing into the library but this year Olivia had learned that those thoughts were just plain silly. With her backpack slung lazily over her shoulder, she walked into the room to find cushioned benches on either side of the walls in the room. And there was Mr. Kennedy. She noted the blackboard's instructions and decided to deviate from the instructions a little to go say hello to the Librarian. It was only polite to do so.
"Hello Mr. Kennedy! I hope you are well," she grinned. Her eyes dropped momentarily when she saw something covered in a black sheet. Interesting, she mused, and then made her way over to the cushioned benches.
Despite not really having much time these days, Althea had been looking forward to the Book Club. As hectic as her life was, she would always find a moment to read for leisure. She did wonder the librarian had in store for them. The fifth year was grateful for the warmth of the library, even tugged her scarf away from her face, and made her way towards the area that Mr. Kennedy had sectioned off for them.
She was surprised to see that she was one of the first to arrive, and she took a glance around the area, still puzzled over what they were going to do. The Hufflepuff felt that Mr. Kennedy had done right by the library (she was really impressed by the book maze,) and so she smiled and greeted him with a, "Good Afternoon, Mr. Kennedy," in her indoor voice, of course. He was another staff member that she thought was very interesting and certainly impressive. And with that, she sat down and was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the bench was.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
The first IMPS Task had taken place a little more than a month ago but the Ravenclaw ex-competitor still felt terrible about his quick elimination and hadn't been able to focus much during classes. It was therefore that he felt a bit cheered up when the first book club meeting was taking place. Especially because it had been books that had saved his life when he and the old man from the task had been in danger of getting there souls sucked out. Well, seeing as the old muggle had been a dummy all along, HE had been in danger.
When the day arrived, Mason had entered the library an hour before it would start to spend some time studying for his exams at the end of the year.
When his watch alarm had gone off, the seventh year had gathered his stuff and walked over to the area where the meeting would take place. Once there, Mason had been surprised by the setting of the room but said nothing about it. Instead, he focused his eyes on the librarian, whom he now knew could also play the violin, how cool was that?, leaning against a desk. "Hello, sir" he greeted with a nod of his head and then looked at the black sheet covering....something. Then he turned and walked over to one of the benches to sit down, greeting the two other students (Althea and Olivia) who were already present.

A book club?
In all due honesty, Vivian wasn't in any way a book worm. That had always been her mum in the family. However, because she had nothing to do today (she had finished her homework last night since she felt really productive), the Slytherin found her on the path towards the library. She had seen the notice at the common room and thought... why not? The main reason why she came was because of her curiosity, as this was the first time she'd be participating in such an event.
With a sweater on top of her shirt, Vivian tugged the sleeves so that they could cover her fingers. The month was so chilly but when she had stepped inside the library, she was quite shocked to find that it was warm. Ah, the librarian probably made a few adjustments. "Good afternoon, Sir," the blonde greeted Mr. Kennedy. Vivian saw the Gryffindor she had partnered with during Ancient Runes, and waved at her with a smile. They were automatic friends after that lesson. They did so well; how could Vivian forget her?
The Slytherin took a seat close to Olivia since she was the only person she knew, and patiently waited for the others. Also, what was that thing under the black sheet? Vivian fought the urge to open it before the meeting started.

Melbourne stifled a yawn as she made her way to the library for what happened to be one of her favorite clubs. Book club, the place where she could openly stare at books for hours and maybe even nudge the Librarian about any good book suggestions…or maybe just quietly ogle his face. Sure, sure part of the time she was just mentally drawing a villainous mustache on his face but those times were often noticeable with the way her fingers would flex as if they wanted to draw the ‘stache that she had been imagining.
Normally it ended up being the wire-thin ones that henchmen and evildoers in movies always seemed to twist as they divulged their plots to the hero of the story. Really, if evil doers knew anything in those movies it would be to never, ever get that mustache it just screamed I am a suspect citizen…please, suspect me of something. Yep, that was where the mystery loving girls head was when she made it to the room.
”Hello Mr. Kennedy…did you get any good mystery fiction books in recently?” she asked as she glanced at the older man before glancing around and giving a greeting to Olivia, Althea, Mason, and Vivian…where to sit? FINALLY deciding on a spot she quite nearly plopped down on a bench near Althea.

Book club! Etta had been looking forward to this for a long while. She enjoyed leisure-reading a lot so this was rather exciting. She entered the library, wondering what the librarian had in store for them. She hoped he'd suggest some new books to read, maybe? She gave the librarian a smile first, nodding her head in greeting. "Hello, Mr. Kennedy. Hope you're doing well today."
"Hey!" She found a seat next to Olivia, curious to know what was hidden under the black sheet. But since the suspense would be unveiled only after class started, she pulled out her parchment and quill and gave her friend another smile.

Camilla had known about the book club probably longer then the students did. With all the duties of a staff member she still found some downtime here and there and reading was something she enjoyed from time to time. Having finished off grading most of the students papers before hand she had some free time to attend the meeting.
Making her way towards the library, Cami went straight for the room where the meeting was to be held. Being late wasn't something she liked doing and was very unprofessional for a professor. With a warm smile she entered the room taking note of the layout and giving the man in charge a curious look. "Hello, Kalen," she greeted with a nod of her head. "Hello, everyone." A warm smile was sent to all the students already sitting down.
So far she was the only staff member here but that didn't mean much, surely someone else would be showing up soon? Even if they didn't it wasn't a big deal, reading was for everyone. Selecting a seat, the brunette sat down quietly.

A book club? How could she resist that!? She heard about book clubs that Kitridge had done, although she couldn't remember if he did one in her first year or well, perhaps after the monster incident, everything was just a blur. Either way, the fourth year was ecstatic about this. She might not have been a Ravenclaw, but she did still enjoy books and perhaps it might even help prepare her more for OWLs, which were still not until a year and a half away, but preparing early and often was of best interest.
"Hello Mr Kennedy," She greeted, as she glanced around to see who was present. Quite a few fifth years; Mel and Olivia H and Althea and Etta. See even they knew the value of books in OWL preparation. Oh look, and there was Vivian. Dormmate got a wave and a grin, as she found a seat. Oh and C Stewart was there too.

What was her favorite thing to do in the cold of winter? Curl up with a good book in front of a warm fire. Cass supposed talking about books could be another pleasant option, so when the notice about the book club meeting was posted, the Ravenclaw took notice. It seemed as good a thing as any to do on this blustery day during their free time. She entered the library and found herself directed to a specific room where they would be meeting for the group.
“Hello Mr. Kennedy,” Cassie greeted the librarian with a smile as she took notice of his presence. Then her gaze passed over her surroundings and spotted the cushioned benches to sit upon as well as her housemate Mason, a few other students and the Transfiguration Professor.” Hello Professor,” she added as she moved to claim a seat off to the left to await what they would be talking on, the girl taking a quill from her pocket to be ready.

Rooney Bronwyn had made a promise to be here and he never went back on a promise. So he took a seat quietly and kept his eyes on the ground. There was no attempt to make eye contact with any of his peers, nor the librarian who he honestly saw in the library every day. But right now... Roo wanted to not be himself and have reason to keep himself busy whilst his mind did overtime assessing the exact status of his relationship. Thumbs twiddled, and the boy just sat. Could this get started already? His head was swimming...

"Hello Mr. Kennedy, Hello Professor," The brunette greeted quietly after performing her usual curtsy. Her gaze shifted, in search of Samuel, and when she didn't immediately spot him, Junia moved towards an empty seat and settled there.
After clasping her hands and gently setting them in her lap, the fourth year trained her eyes on the librarian and waited while the warmth of the room washed over her.

Far be it for her to miss a book club meeting, not when she was such a mega fan of books and the few gems she could usually pull from them. There was nothing like a good book to take you on an adventure somewhere else entirely.
As it so happened, the Ravenclaw had just gotten done one of the adventure books she'd found in the mini library the Ravenclaw Common Room sported and was in the perfect mind to focus on literature....sorta....for the most part. Basically, she'd just gotten through a book and felt a whole lot smarter and more sophisticated for it, OKAY????
"Hello." She said by way of general greeting to everyone already present in the room, Professor and Librarian included.
Despite the cold temperatures outside the air about her just seemed...light.....kind of airy. She couldn't explain it and was sure it was all in her head but there it was. Jessa took a seat along the wall, eyes locked on the wardrobe that saw fit to occupy an entire wall. Would the Librarian have book characters popping out of it occasional? Was he storing something else in their entirely?
Questions, she had them but would wait for the club meeting to begin.

Tristan walked into the library clad in boots, a grey t-shirt, jeans with holes at the knees, and his favorite leather jacket. He was sure he should have been more appropriately dressed, but there were a lot of creatures he worked with so it was basically impossible for him to wear anything else.
He promised Kalen he would come to book club. Tristan did love to read, and couldn't wait to see what his friend had in store for everyone. "Hello, everyone." He said with a small smile to all the students. "Hello, Cami." He grinned and gave her a wink. "Kale." He smiled ruefully, giving him a wink and two thumbs up.
Yep. This would be fun for sure.

Kitty had liked the previous book clubs she'd attended (though unfortunately there hadn't been one last year), and for the sake of politeness and old times she was attending. Yet she was in a black mood and not entirely sure it was a good idea.
"Hello Professors," she said, smiling thinly (which was the best she could do under the rotten circumstances) at both of them before sitting down without glancing at anyone else. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed Rooney, Jessa, and Skylar were all here. Okay. Ha. Ha. Ha.
What book would they be talking about? The wardrobe reminded her of the Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe.
She'd been doing a lot of reading of late, but not much that she would consider as being for fun. So she figured heading to the book club might be just the ticket. Or a distraction, at least.
And talking of a distraction, it looked like she wasn't the only one who needed one. She quietly slipped into the chair next to the Head Boy, though didn't see the need to break into whatever he was thinking about. It looked like he was grappling with something difficult, whatever it was. NEWTs perhaps?

Ahh and here came the first one to book club, Kalen had been nervous about it actually, he had been wondering if anyone was going to show up! His smile grew wider as he saw who it was. "Hello Miss Holden, I am indeed well, and you?" He asked as she made her way to her seat.

Kalen grinned at the next entry through the door and he smiled warmly at Melbourne. "Hello Miss Sorin-Ward, and I've gotten some new Sherlock Holmes novels in if you would like them?" He asked her, and by new he meant new to the library. He was trying to expand muggle fiction in this place. And doing it extremely slowly and subtly.

As for the wardrobe? Nope, she had nothing.
Ahh yet another quiet Ravenclaw.. Yeah it seemed like The Angst was going around then.. "Hello Miss Tyler, " Kalen said softly as she moved past to sit down. Huh..
Kalen glanced at his watch and nodded as he stood up from his leaning position on the desk. He peered out the door and then not seeing anyone, He waved his hand at the door and it shut, club had officially started!
Kalen grinned as he rounded his desk and clasped his hands in front of him, looking excitedly at everyone who had gathered!
”Hello everyone and welcome to Book Club! I'm so glad to see you all here and ready to learn about books.” He smiled as he started to walk down the middle of the classroom glancing left and right as he did so..
“Now! Before we dive into the book we will be discussing today. I have a few questions for you." Kalen reached the wardrobe and spun around to face the class. He leaned against it and tapped the large thing gently.
”I noticed a lot of you eyeing what's on my desk, and we will get to that soon.. this.. however." Kalen said as he tapped the wardrobe again..”This is a big clue as to what we will be studying today, Does anyone have any guesses as to why something like this would be a hint to today's club? Does anyone know what this is? Or what we could be studying?” The Librarian asked with a grin. Only two people seemed to notice the wardrobe and he was excited to hear what everyone's guesses were.
OOC: Hello all and thanks so so much for coming! Class has officially started and I'll be moving on in about 24 hours or so! Feel free to answer all the questions Kalen posed to the kids or just one.
Melbourne grinned at Librarian as he brought up Sherlock Holmes. ”Oh! I’d love to…my owl is even named Moriarty” she explained with a bright eyed smile, really she was obsessed with the curious man with his quizzical manor of solving mysteries. Kalen Kennedy began the club she couldn’t help but smile.
YAY BOOKCLUB WAS STARTING.
Raising her hand Melbourne just grinned. ”Professor, I know a part of me is saying something about the idea of transporting you to the world of the character…but another part of me is really curious if its about us using the contents of the wardrobe to visually create what we visualize a character to be like when it comes to how they look, sound, and feel to us” she paused for a second before adding ”like for example with the wizard of oz…how they portray Dorothy as having ruby slippers in the movies but silver slippers in the books” she explained, ”or better yet how Lihn Cinders looks in the Lunar Chornicles” hello who wouldn’t want to end up looking like a cyborg mechanic?

Okay... so they were supposed to guess what was the thing on Mr. Kennedy's table. Uh, she didn't really know. It was a pile of something, for sure, so the Slytherin thought it was just be a pile of books about something. Because it was a book club after all, right? And since it was a big clue, she supposed it was an important part of the meeting today.
And oh, look at that Gryffindor (Melbourne) just letting everyone know about her take on the hidden pile. Vivian blinked, because she obviously didn't know what she was talking about. To be frank, the only books Vivian would ever read were picture books and her text books, though the latter was a rare occasion when she studied. It had dawned on her that she was no idea why she came. She hoped her curiosity would suffice her participation in this meeting today. The blonde raised her hand to share. "Because it's obviously hidden, Sir, I'd say we might discuss the mystery genre?" That was Vivian's logic, apparently. "You're making us guess what's underneath the black sheet, and we only obviously have inferences about it. So yeah, just like the mystery genre, we'll never really know until it's revealed." Just her two knuts on the subject. Perhaps someone else had a better and logical interpretation of the hidden pile.

Etta looked extremely curious when the librarian tapped on the wardrobe. That had something to with the book club meeting?! Hmm. Perhaps they were going to learn something about arranging books.. nah, that would be too weird and not exciting at all. She narrowed her eyes in thought, trying to think. Wait.
"Sir.. just like Mel partly suggested.. does the wardrobe have anything to do with transporting you to another world? Like, how it happened in this book called Chronicles of Narnia? The characters discover a whole new world inside the wardrobe.. maybe we'll get to go somewhere exciting as well?" Now, wouldn't that be AWESOME? It was only a suggestion and she seriously doubted if that was going to happen but you know.. she hoped. Ahem.

There was no way Gaston was missing this! Maybe it was growing up in isolation or maybe it was because his mother was a librarian, but he had always been a bookworm and probably always would be. The normally sad professor couldn't help but feel a little excited for today's book club, and there was a spark of life in his bright blue eyes that had been long missing as he entered the library.
He'd given Kalen, Cami, and Tristan each a smile and polite nod in greeting and said hello to the students upon arrival. His eyes kept flicking toward the wardrobe at the end of the room. Did that mean what he thought it meant? The meeting started, and Kalen all but confirmed his suspicions when he said the wardrobe was a clue to what they were studying today. Gaston had a pretty good idea where this was going, but he decided to keep quiet and let the students answer. He sat back in his chair, listening to everyone's guesses. He thought Miss Kramer was on the right track with her answer, but only time would tell.

"I'm glad I was able to make it, almost thought I was going to be late," she admitted giving Kalen a smile as she settled herself into a seat. The entrance of several most students each of whom got a warm smile from her was nice. Oh, look, there was two of more colleagues showing their support. Hello gentlemen.
Camilla kept silent as Kalen started the meeting bringing everyone's attention onto the wardrobe that was in the room. Really the thing couldn't be missed? His questions brought about a brief moment of wonder to her but she remained silent allowing the students a chance to speak. In the world of magic and being a women who enjoyed reading many ideas came to mind. Only time would tell if any were correct.

Noelle had a little more time on her hands this year, which she used to train and study. But when she heard about the book club, there was no way she was going to miss it.
Plus she heard that some of the professors were going to be there. Not to mention, Mr. Kennedy was running the club. There was really no reason to miss this opportunity.
Making her way in, Noelle looked around before finding a seat next to Olivia . She wiggled her fingers in hello before the librarian had started speaking. While he was doing that, Noelle took a look around at everyone else. Oh... yes. Wayland was here. Noelle quickly turned back to the front.
Mr. Kennedy's clothes were peculiar. She tilted her head but agreed with Mel and Etta. "I'd agree with Etta. The Chronicles of Narnia. Being in another world. That world different from your own. Like Hogwarts to the muggle world." It was a great little story. And the four siblings did remind her of the four houses of Hogwarts.
Another glance around the room, Noelle was happy she came to Book Club.

Oh Professor Marchand was there too and despite him having looked sullen for a few weeks, he looked much better today. Which naturally, delighted the fourth year. But back to the book club, because it seemed they were starting and Mr Kennedy asked what this wardrobe would have to do with the book they were discussing.
Chronicles of Narnia, as Etta suggested.... although Mel with the transporting you to another world, well, that was a brilliant suggestion! One of those was on the right track, maybe, or they were all completely wrong?
"Wardrobes are used to hold clothes," and boggarts, but this wasn't defense class, so she hoped that Kennedy wouldn't have a boggart hidden in there. "So what if we're going to dress up and act out the scenes of a book? Chronicles of Narnia, like Etta suggested, perhaps."

Mr. Kennedy was always kind. She had appreciated his help with getting the books from the top of the bookshelves without his wand. It was incredible. "Very well thanks! Excited for the meeting," she said with a grin as she took her seat. Then she waited for her fellow classmates to come in. Everyone who walked through the door got a nod.
And soon enough, there were a lot of people she knew here! Wow. Book club was the place to be for sure! Olivia gave Vivian a wave when she came to sit near her. A wave for Melbourne too, and Skylar, and Etta, and Noelle. Then the Head Boy caught her eye. He was very... quiet. She frowned a little, wondering if he was alright. Maybe a bad night's sleep or something? She hoped that he was alright. Ooh! And there were a couple of Professors and her Head of House. She beamed. Before she could talk to either one of her friends, Mr. Kennedy had begun the meeting.
She remained silent as he pointed to the wardrobe. Hmm... The lion and the witch and the wardrobe.... That children's novel certainly sprung to mind as she had loved that series (and still loved it). Then when Mel and Etta both mentioned visiting another world, Olivia's sat up a little more. VISITING ANOTHER WORLD? That would be incredible. She was just a little bit excited about that. "I also agree with the idea of transporting yourself to another world." Though Vivian's idea of something being hidden like the mystery genre was something that could be explored more.
She eyed the wardrobe. "Though speaking of something being hidden as Vivian mentioned. Maybe the wardrobe is used as an escape to a different world like Mel and Etta had mentioned...Maybe it's like a vanishing cabinet?" Olivia didn't even know what they looked like but she had read about them.
