Welcome to your second duel!
This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Curse Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE.

Professor Hirsch will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.
Please remember to adhere to the Dueling Club rules, the DADA rules as well as the SS Site rules.

OOC: This duel must be completed by the 17th of July by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting me about them or posting them in the Dueling Club Rules thread. If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out.
Please note that you do NOT need to keep a note of any points used, gained or lost during this duel. Simply carry out the RPG process as normal.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.
First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel.

Another Auror duel this term. Should be fun! The one against Bast's family member last term had been interesting, and though Rula didn't really know this Auror very well, it would surely be interesting too.
Giving the woman a smile, she took her place in the dueling arena. "Thanks for coming today," she said, before following the usual rules of bowing and taking a certain number of steps.
And then, as she tended to enjoy doing, she started off with a fairly simple spell directed at Alexa, just to get a feel for how this unfamiliar opponent would react. "Cantis!"

The thing was, Lex liked doing these Auror duels with the kids over at Hogwarts. It wasn't to say she didn't have anything better to do (ugh, hardly, her desk was a mess right now) but because it offered something...light. The fast life of constant danger and constant vigilance were amazing, but every now and then, it was nice to have a duel that was just for fun. Not for marks, or promotions or saving the wizarding world but fun. Where she could kick her feet up and do spells or that otherwise wouldn't cut it out there if she planned to go home to her tiny blonde terror.
She nodded at the girls words, even offered a smile before bowing and counting out her steps. As a courtesy, she sometimes tried not to block EVERYTHING both because she hated shield charms and because it could be demoralizing but on that note, Alexa Christina Cambridge did not sing.
She's hardly turned around when the spell was cast, leaving her to pull up a shield with wandless magic on impulse.
Would she have to remember to do everything verbally? Hirsch did say he wanted them to understand what it was like dueling an Auror and Lex seldom cast aloud anymore unless it was a particularly powerful spell that required more of her. They could handle it, yes? This was a Seventh Year afterall. Head Girl from what she'd heard. Giving it very little thought, Alexa non-verbally cast Deprimo but a lighter version, one not intended to damage the poor girl's spine.
In that same breath, a wandless jelly leg curse was cast, just to make it a little harder to run while she got a feel for this one.

Trying to remain extra alert, Rula cast a quick "Protego!" when she saw the light of a spell. A nonverbal one too, apparently, and that thought kept her from deflecting the spell back, only stopping it instead. Spells done nonverbally would definitely be a challenge, and that excited her.
But then her legs suddenly collapsed under her as if...as if they were made of jelly. The Jelly-Legs Curse? But she hadn't seen the Auror's wand move...
Interesting.
"Orbis!" She cast aloud at her opponent, before following it up with a nonverbal Tarantallegra, one of the spells she'd been practicing this term. She didn't have a ton of successful nonverbal spells yet, and the ones she did have were mostly simple first or second year level ones, but she was determined to use them as much as she could here.
Including a nonverbal Finite to undo the spell on her legs and quickly get back on her feet.

Hirsch liked that he could always rely on Auror Cambridge to come down and take part in a duel. She knew the drill by now, so there wasn't a need to worry about her possibly messing up or hurting the students. Plus, she was bound to put Miss Botros through her paces, which was exactly what would help the girl when she graduated.
Though, considering, it was sad to think about that just now.
Adjusting his glasses slightly, he, instead, concentrated on the duel taking place. A smile spread across his face at the use of the nonverbals, especially from Miss Botros herself. This was exactly what he was talking about! He couldn't help but wonder if she knew how to do some more defensive spells nonverbally. What was her shield charms like? Anti-jinx? He had questions.
But, apparently, this wasn't the time or the place to ask. Instead, he struck up a shield between them, idly wondering what that that penultimate spell had been. "That was short but sweet. Really well done, Miss Botros. I hope duelling against Auror Cambridge has helped you with your duelling abilities." Though, considering, he wasn't entirely worried about her duelling abilities. "And thank you for coming, Alexa." Smile.
