It was a cool mid-October night, the moon was hanging high in the sky and reflecting over the lake. Walking into the classroom it looked a little different than last term, Keiyona kept some posters of the solar system on the walls but she also added some posters with quotes from some of the best Astronomers throughout history. Professor Berkovich charmed the ceiling so her and the students could see the constellations, the desk in the classroom were formed into a circle to attempt at getting everyone involved in the conversation for the night's class.
The Astronomy professor leaned against the front of her desk waiting for the students to start piling into the classroom. Each desk had a piece of paper and a nameplate that was charmed so when the students sat down their names would appear on the nameplates. As for the paper there were instructions on the blackboard.

Okay, so ten minutes to research one constellation? At least they only had to do one constellation, but how, in the name of Merlin was ten minutes enough time? Skylar needed ten minutes to just read the chapter about constellations. Though she guessed it didn't have to be a full parchment length research paper, but just a few notes would suffice, still though ...
Might as well get started, for no other reason than she was wasting time just sitting here thinking about writing the paper. Andromeda, because it was first on the Professor's list and thereby should be first in the textbook, which meant less reading and flicking through the textbook to find the part about her chosen constellation.
Finding the paragraph, she read the chapter and took out a blank piece of parchment for which to take her research notes on.

Andromeda
In Chinese Astronomy, the stars were members of four different constellations that had astrological and mythological significance
known as "the Chained Lady" or "the Chained Woman" in English
One of 48 constellations listed in the second century by Ptolemy
Remains one of 88 modern constellations
Alpha Andromedae - it's brightest star. a binary star that has also been counted as a part of Pegasus
Gamma Andromedae - a colorful binary and a popular target for amateur astronomers
Beta Andromedae - a red giant star, its color visible to the naked eye
Setting down her quill once she had at least five things noted down from the book, she waited to see what was next in the class.

Henry was already growing bored and he had just barely gotten started on any textbook reading. He had finally found the section on the constellation Pegasus, and he read over the same paragraph a couple times as he was quickly getting distracted.
Someone had an active imagination though, when they determined that this grouping of stars looked like a winged horse, Henry thought as he looked at the diagram. But he began writing down some facts in his notes as he read them, hoping that they'd move on to something more engaging soon. The myth, of course, was the most interesting part, but he wasn't completely sure what that had to do with the constellation, other than someone thought it resembled Pegasus.
SPOILER!!: Henry's Notes
Pegasus
A large constellation easily identifiable due to its bright asterism (groups of stars) known as "The Square of Pegasus"
Pegasus is visible in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres
In the Northern hemisphere, Pegasus can be seen from July to January
In the Southern hemisphere, the constellation can be viewed from August to December
In the Southern hemisphere Pegasus will appear upside down.
It contains the first planets outside our solar system to have been directly observed by an Earth based telescope
Pegasus is a winged horse from Greek mythology, who brought forth springs from the Earth wherever it walked. Pegasus was also a servant to Zeus the King of Gods, obeying his every command.
After the Greek hero Perseus defeated Medusa, the monster’s blood from her decapitation mingled with the sea water resulting in Pegasus being born from the cave floor along with his brother in the form of a young man named Chrysaor. Pegasus’s mother is therefore considered to be Medusa and his father Poseidon God of the Sea.

One constellation? Olivia eyed the list presented on the blackboard and was intrigued by Lacerta. She had never heard of that constellation before! So she flipped through the pages of her textbook until she got to the index and then she searched for the name of this constellation. Ah! After finding the page number, she began scribbling down facts about the constellation. Hmm.. She read the section once before reading it again and taking notes.

Notes on Lacerta
-Lacerta means lizard in Latin.
-It was defined by Johannes Hevelius.
-The brightest star forms a "W" like Cassiopeia. Sometimes referred to as "Little Cassiopeia"
-Located between Cygnus, Cassiopeia, and Andromeda
-Lies in northern Milky Way
While the students were working on their research Keiyona had walked to the back of the classroom and pulled out some black construction paper, white and silver paint with some paint brushes. She also had gotten out some other art supplies that would be able to help the students out. As the student were working on their research portion Keiyona was walking around the classroom observing all of them and would aid them if any of them needed some help. The Astronomy professor came upon a student (Eddie) that wasn't listening. Kei stood in front of his desk. "Mr. Blaze, don't you have some research to get to work on?" her tone was still just as cheery as it was at the beginning of class. "If you don't do your research and get your final project done I'll have no choice but to deduct house points from you." she wasn't one to be strict and she wasn't a fan of taking house points away from students but if they weren't listening or doing what they were told she had no choice but to take some house points away.
The woman walked back up to the front of the classroom after the ten minutes were up. "Now that all your research is done and you know the basics I would like you all to grab some paints, black construction paper and create your very own constellations. With the research that you all gathered this should prepare you for naming your very own constellation, creating a short paragraph for a myth and creating a shape." she paused for a moment to allow the students to take that information in. "If you want to name your constellation after yourself go ahead. I just ask that you all be creative and have fun! If you need any help just call my name." with that Keiyona smiled at the all and sat back down at her desk.
OOC: The only requirements that are needed; Constellation name, short paragraph of the myth and what shape your character chose for the constellation. NO GRAPHIC MAKING IS REQUIRED FOR THIS. You can however make a graphic if you want. You have until Wednesday May 24th, 2017 at 11:00PM EST to get the main project done.

Henry had just finished writing about Pegasus when apparently it was time to move on. And that was fine with him because reading and writing only held his attention for so long, and that was when it was something that interested him. Hopefully they'd be doing some sort of stimulating and, of course, related activity, but... oh.
The sixteen year old's face fell a bit at the mention of the lesson's activity. Their last teacher was all about art projects too, and he just didn't get the correlation. Wasn't Astronomy more of a scientific class? Where they could do cool science experiments? He kind of missed that. Plus, he was not an artistic kid at all. Huh. Who'd have thought he'd ever be longing for something more academically challenging, even if he wanted it in an interactive activity type of thing. Those could be fun while learning at the same time.
But Henry was not one to complain to a teacher about their teaching methods and he dutifully got up to retrieve supplies, even if he was left wondering why he elected to take this class at NEWT level when it felt a little juvenile to paint stars on construction paper. Still, he resolved to just relax and have fun with it then. He didn't really have an idea in mind for creating a constellation, though he did smile to himself, recalling a recent date in the Astronomy tower when they did create a few of their own constellations. He wasn't so sure he wanted to share that here though, so he simply dipped a brush into the paint and flicked it at the paper. He could use some of the random splatters there as basis for his constellation.

Oh. They'd be making constellations. Oh. The Ravenclaw glanced up at the twinkling night sky through the wide windows of the Astronomy tower, unable to shake the thought that it'd been a waste having a night class only to spend in staring at a black sheet of paper and a bunch of art equipment.
She'd thought that at the very least they would spend the night finding constellations or staring into the vast openness of space looking for galaxies far far away. That wasn't the case.
Perhaps next time. Who knew, maybe they'd get to pull out there telescopes--or learn one of those cool spells that help you see space better or...or....well the possibilities were endless she supposed. For such a heavily theory based lesson, it also had the potential to be practical and that was the best for her. Jessa thrived in environments where she could get a real hands on approach--like if they'd made their own constellations with different compounds and gases or something along those lines.
Using glitter and pens and paper could hardly compare once the idea was in her head but she needed to get to work. Jessa collected a few supplies and headed back to her seat.
Her own constellation with its own myth and such. Hmmmmm.....
Jessa made a few white dots, one there...another over there....at first, she didn't really know what she was making but the more dots she added was the clearer the picture became. She connected the dots, being sure they at least looked like something when together before turning to begin her paragraph.
SPOILER!!: Constellation
Constellation name: The Spiral
Shape: Inward spiraling figure
Myth:
The king of this very well known kingdom had a daughter who was curious about everything and asked questions liberally. One day she met a powerful wizard who told her he could grant her the power to find out absolutely anything she wanted to know in the entire world. Naturally she took this deal, looking forward to all the great discoveries. Everything went well at first, and she found herself fulfilled by all her studies. Eventually, however, her studies consumed her. Deeper and deeper she fell into her studies until others started to wonder where she was. For days on end she would go missing. A day came where not even a trace of the princess could be found. The king sent many knights in search of her, searching high and low in the kingdom. Years later, they found the princess at the bottom of a chasm she'd fallen into while in the middle of one of her studies. The king was both livid and relieved and made her promise to never go off on the deep end like that again. As a reminder, he arranged a set of stars in the sky in the shape of a spiral, a reminder to her and everyone else not to fall into the spiral of knowledge and discovery again but to use moderation in all things.

While waiting for class to continue, Skylar was idly doodling her own variation of constellations. Or at least that's what she would have told the Professor if asked about her doodling. That was when she heard the Professor scolding - the most cheery of scoldings too? - a younger slytherin boy about doing his research and then explained the next part of the assignment.
"Professor?" she called her over to address just her, so as to not call attention any more to the situation. "Perhaps Eddie doesn't know how to research? I'd be happy to work with him, if you'd like and if he agrees?" He was only a second year, after all.
As she was waiting for the Professor and Eddie to maybe agree, she began thinking about her own constellation and what she might name it. Diggory just didn't sound right as a constellation, but somehow her first name sounded like it could be a constellation. Yet she didn't think that's where the name came from?

Creating a constellation.. right. Etta wasn't really THAT imaginative a person so having to make up a myth was going to be incredibly painful and difficult. She'd assumed they would be doing something a little more interesting for their activity but oh.. well.
She sat at her desk, absently staring at her parchment, no exactly sure where she should start. Why kind of a myth did she want to write about? She was already starting to her a headache. Sighing softly, she tried to focus once again and started with the first task- name of the constellation. A star. Okay, moving on to the next one. The shape-- In the shape of a star obviously.. so that made sense. She picked up her quill and started to draw slowly. She connected the dots in the shape of a star, which was rather simple enough, before moving on to write about a myth.
SPOILER!!: parchment
Quote:
Myth - Once upon a time, there was a King and Queen that were very happy together along with their beautiful children. They ruled a small kingdom but they were happy with what they had but eventually all happy lives had troubles. The neighbouring King made plans to capture their kingdom to selfishly extend his empire. The good King found out about this and tried to do what he could to save his beautiful kingdom. He sent his family away to a safe place and fought bravely against the selfish king. They fought long and tiring battles until the selfish king realised that he couldn't win. He eventually surrendered and good King got to keep his kingdom. For his bravery and for being a very good ruler of his small beautiful kingdom, the neighbouring King awarded him a small, silver star. And even to this day, this King is still a alive in the form of a 'star-shaped' constellation in the sky.
Nose-scrunching was happening. Actually Abey had maybe anticipated this, though. Research meant reading and reading meant writing and he didn't want to do EITHER of those anymore. As in... actually he was already mega tired of all of it, and that headache was not going away.
Well, at the very least he could make a shape of a constellation, couldn't he? And name it. And MAYBE think up a story or a myth for it, but that part was probably going to stay in his head. Evening classes were GREAT and all but it turned out that, as his brain was all buzzing from information during the day and his eyes were tired and everything, it made words about ten times harder thant usual. So, uh... no thanks.
Art supplies, then. Abey went ahead and grabbed a large thingy of that black paper, and chose silver paint for his constellation because silver was so many amazing colours and he loooooooved to look at it. Once he had everything, Abey sat back down, looked over his supplies...
... and realised he had no idea how to think up a constellation. Like, at all. And didn't the stars half the time join up to look like nothing like what they were supposed to? Like Ursa Major; it was meant to be a bear, but without the drawing on top of it... Abey couldn't see it.
Sooooooo... maybe just some random splodges? OOH! YES! And then he could join them up in a fun way, and then make the name, and THEN the story behind it! Perfect idea, just working backwards.

Wait...so...first, they were given just ten minutes to research a constellation? ...What...kind of thorough research could be done in ten minutes? What about multiple resources? Fact checking? Cross referencing? What kind of quality did Professor Berkovich expect of her students if she thought they could do research in just ten minutes?
Lucy quickly dove into her textbook. She didn't even care which constellation she looked up, as long as she was able to complete the assignment. The first she came to was Piscis Austrinus. So...she began jotting down notes from the paragraphs given.
Text Cut: Parchment
Piscis Austrinus
- Fish
- Greek and Egyptian mythology
- Greek
- drinks water from Aquarius
- Egyptian
- saved goddess (Isis), rewarded by being put in sky
...So the text didn't delve too much into the actual mythology of the constellation...which was why she needed multiple resources and cross-references. For. Goodness. Sake. It panicked Lucy to not be able to research well.
Even worse, Professor Berkovich didn't even collect their work. Was it worth it, then? Was it necessary? What was the point?
WOULD IT BE ON THE OWL???
Now they were to make up their own constellation? Again, what sort of learning did that provide, she implored. Would her own constellation be on the OWL? No? Then, honestly, Lucy couldn't afford the brain power to do this.
However, in order to do well in the class, she had to. So the girl fetched her own construction paper and paint and half-heartedly made something up.
She drew out two waved lines, parallel to each other, and planted stars along them. Then wrote the accompanying paragraph.
Text Cut: Parchment
Movement
The constellation movement represents how everything goes on. It's paired together as a reminder that sometimes, help is needed to continue. Yet, life is always moving. Different cultures perceive it differently. While the most vague symbolism is 'life'. Others claim it represents more specific themes within life, such as love or growth.
That...wasn't exactly a myth, but Octans didn't have a proper myth along with it, either, Lucy knew. Plus, she was bitter. So, here's what you get, Professor Berkovich. Sorry.

They had to do MORE work? Emmeline was sure that researching things and writing things down would have been the end of it. In fact, that sounded more serious than making up her own constellation. She retrieved a piece of the black paper and silver paint with a well-disguised grimace; she liked drawing creatures, and she could do simple pictures, but she wasn't exactly creative or particularly artistic. Everything she drew really existed after all, and it was more doodling than actual art work anyway. She supposed that would have to be good enough for this too.
Coming up with a story about her constellation and naming it would be harder. She figured that the best way to escape this assignment was to keep it simple; the professor hadn't said anything about losing points if their constellations were bad, just if they didn't do the assignment at all.
Slightly comforted by that thought, Emmeline used the pretty silver paint to make a circle with a triangle on top of it. She spread these shapes out to make them look like connected stars, so that the "circle" really resembled more of an octagon. Close enough. Picking up her quill, she began to write down the myth part reluctantly...

The Wizard
Once upon a time, there was a famous wizard's hat. The hat was pointed just like all ancient wizard hats are today (like the Sorting Hat). Anyone who wore the special wizard's hat could grant someone else 3 wishes. One day, a wizard called Merlin obtained the hat and made it famous. He had granted wishes to King Arthur using the hat, and given the king lots of good advice and the help of his magic for free. King Arthur was the best king Britain ever had because of Merlin. When Merlin grew REALLY old, he died of dragon pox and everyone was sad. Even the gods were sad, so Zeus called Merlin and his special hat to be a constellation in the skies forever because only Merlin was worthy to have his wizard's hat. The End.
Emmeline read back what she'd written to herself. Constellation name, check. Picture, check. Story with the gods to make it a myth, check. Yep, this would have to be good enough. If not, well...maybe this sort of thing was why she wasn't so great at Astronomy. Oh well. Emmeline mentally shrugged these sorts of thoughts off, and returned to doodling creatures in the margins of her Astronomy notebook. She really hoped this was the end of their work now, because she was getting just a little sleepy already.

The research part of the lesson hadn’t bothered Stasya too much. It had been awfully interesting reading about Capricornus, mostly because of the goat part of the constellation. But she’d also found herself watching the others around her, noticing that it looked like maybe Abey was having problems or something. And also, Emmeline seemed almost disappointed by the assignment, as they’d been told they got to create their own constellation. She actually was kind of excited by the idea that she got to make up her very own constellation, even if she knew that there was already at least one goat constellation. That didn’t mean she couldn’t still do a creature-related constellation.
After collecting her supplies, she set about figuring out what it would look like. Coming up with a believable idea was actually hard, at least when it came to stars. She knew the myth she wanted to borrow, because it was sort of one that she’d been told by her grandparents when she was tiny. Even if it wasn’t actually Icelandic, she’d liked the story and now she actually had a real one. Plus now she’d have her pretend constellation, so that made it even better as she tried to write down something that worked with her idea.

One day one of the gods got so angry he killed Ratatoskr, but the other gods were sad so they made him into a constellation so he’d be remembered.

Research? Booooooring. But he got to read about myths and stuff, so that was kind of cool. Kane liked reading about mythology, so he tried to think positively about this as he flipped through his book. He found his own horoscope sign and decided that was as good as any to go with!
SPOILER!!: Research notes!
Sagittarius:
Southern Hemisphere constellation (the largest one, in fact!)
Means "Archer" in Latin
Might contain a black hole (SO COOOL!)
Contains "Pistol Star" one of the brightest stars in our galaxy
The myth - a centaur type creature, the Sagittarius constellation is holding a bow and arrow, which is pointing at Scorpio. Legend says Scorpio was sent to kill Orion (another awesome constellation) so Sagittarius is sent to kill Scorpio and save him
Onto the next bit - making his OWN constellation and backstory. Kane pursed his lips and tapped his quill on the tip of his chin, trying to think about what he wanted his constellation to look like. He knew the shape - it would look like the shape of California, OBVIOUSLY - but what would the name be? Hmmm. He wondered if he should do something related to Brent too. Maybe that was what his legend could revolve around? The wheels started turning his brain and he started scribbling on his parchment.

They were just too cool for the monster to handle. They lived happily ever after as the saviors of the castle and the princesses, and were forever immortalized in the sky.

The research and note-taking weren't strenuous, nor did they drain her like other activities from other classes. She listened carefully as the professor began giving a different set of instructions. Oh. She should've guessed that their next assignment would have something to do with mythology; a smile crept onto her face. She was terribly excited for it. Althea made her way over to where the paint and construction paper were and procured enough to complete the project.
As she sat down, she thought about what sort of constellation she should make, and what kind of myth would be attached to it. After a few minutes, an idea popped into her mind, and she set to work. Very carefully, she painted several points - stars, in this case - along the construction paper. Once she was done, she connected them all and then moved it a little bit away so she could see her handiwork. It was a simple spiral that took up a good portion of the construction paper. She liked it; it reminded her of a seashell. Once she was done, she began writing down her myth for her new constellation.

Althea Kenning
5th year - Hufflepuff
Constellation Name: Nox.
Meaning: Darkness.
Myth: Emilia was the sole daughter of a wood nymph, Clio, and the god of wind, Zamir. She would spend the better part of her mornings exploring the area surrounding the forest that she lived in. Her mother had warned her to not stray too far from their home, or else she would be lost forever. Not heeding her mother's words, Emilia decided to seek out an adventure beyond the forest's limits. After a day's worth of walking, she found herself near a beach. She'd never seen the ocean before, so she happily played around on the sand and in the water until night had come. Emilia was certain she walked back the same way she came, but she kept getting turned around in all of the darkness. In a panic, she called upon her father. She begged him to help her, and he agreed under one condition: that she serve as a guide for the lost wanderers of the night. Once she successfully shepherded all of the wanderers, she would finally be able to return home. Using a large burst of wind, Zamir whisked his daughter up into the sky, and rooted her in place so that she would watch over the area. In her anguish, she curled within herself, twisted and distraught her father's trickery, and became the constellation Nox. Despite her despair, she still serves as a guide to those lost near the ocean, all in the hopes that one day she would return home.
Althea was surprised by how much she'd written, and hoped that it wasn't too long of a paragraph; she really couldn't help but be long-winded, especially not in her favorite class.

There…Cassie figured she was just about done with her work on the constellation of Cassiopeia. The star formation that almost shared a name with her though she was nothing like the vain queen of Phonicia that donated the name to the constellation. Vain and willing to sacrifice her daughter…Merlin! The Ravenclaw shook her head even as she copied all that she had learned into her notes regardless, the information awaiting whatever purpose the professor might have them need of it later on.
SPOILER!!: Notes
Constellation: Cassiopeia
Myth: Boastful queen that angered the sea god Poseidon into threatening her kingdom. When she and her husband tried to sacrifice their daughter for protection and escape, the god trapped her in the sky in a chair that served as payback and a reminder of what she had done to her own blood.
Which looked like it was to be soon rather than later as Professor Berkovich was speaking again. Moving them into another project.
Oooo art and creation.
They were to make up their own constellations…including the myth related to them. So very cool, but also could be a lot of work. Cassie dove deep into her thoughts as she tried to come with something, finally opting to go along with an idea that connected to her father and her uncle Ryan. The Ravenclaw started first to paint stars of various sizes in the rough shape of a large dog. In her eyes, reminiscent of a Great Dane, her father’s animangus form. Then she took up another sheet of parchment and proceeded to write down a made-up myth to go with it, adding other information about her constellation.

Before the Professor had even completed her thought, Olivia already knew what she wanted to do for this assignment. Something symbolic to her and one she loved very much. Forbidden love. Mmmhm. Scandalous!
A Mermaid, to represent The Little Mermaid...but her tale would be much different in comparison to the happy-go-lucky story of Ariel and her father, King Triton. Nah, that happy stuff wasn't true to the nature of myths. Literally, every stories she'd ever read had been plagued with death and destruction. Murders, adultery... The Gods and Goddesses were messy people. So messy. Messier than teenagers, to be quite honest. But her story wouldn't be about a teenager. That was TOO Disney cliche for her at the current moment. Besides, she could do better than that.
Putting her head down, Olivia was silent for ages after; working on her own constellation and trying to figure out the logistics and technical information. Many of the specifics had been taken from her book and other star systems found there. Ahem, but that wasn't cheating. It was simply going from example. Liv worked best with an example. Yes, but who didn't? After she'd hammered out the specs, she got to working on a small visual aid. Others might have been fed up with artistry in this class, but the blonde Gryffindor found she didn't mind it at all. In fact, she thought an added depiction gave her overall project a little something extra.
Merlin, and people knew how extra she could be. Not sorry, really.
SPOILER!!: Syreni, the Mermaid!
Technical Information Name: Syreni Symbolism: the Mermaid Right ascension: 17 Stars within 10.00 pc (32.62 ly): 7 Brightest star: Amor Manus Stars:Pisces Caput (fish hair), Syreni Cubitus (mermaid elbow), Amor Manus (love hand), Cauda Syreni (mermaid tail), Amor Stella (love star), Melodiam (melody), Rithimus (rhyme) Most Visible: From May to August.
The Myth
Syreni lived beneath the sea within the kingdom of Poseidon, possessing no titles or prominence. Though she lacked these things, her inner beauty was great and many a merman and mermaid fell in love with her for her shining kindness, humility, and self-sacrificing nature. Love, obsession, deep fascination... She inspired all these things in others, to the point that others could barely contain themselves in her presence. It was the strangest thing.
But the Gods and Goddesses had taken notice of her, for the way she suffered in silence during the times when others took and took too much from her. After Syreni birthed her children, who had different fathers... she'd prayed to the deities to take her and her children away from the pain and the anger. Away from the people who would hurt them to take more from her.
Hearing her plea, Syreni, along with both her daughters were granted a place among the stars, where they could enjoy an eternity in peace.

Working backwards through this task was absolutely definitely the best way Abey could think to do it. Creativity! Improvisation! STARS AND THINGS!
Having closed his eyes for the job, Abey had used a paintbrush to carefully and randomly dab over the black paper, until he had six stars ready to be joined up.
Oh, uh... five stars, actually; once he had opened his eyes, Abey noticed that the sixth had managed to miss the paper entirely and now decorated the desk insted. WHOOPS. Well... at least it was silver and therefore pretty and therefore an improvement. Abey decided to let it live, and instead focused on his constellation, wondering how best to join up the stars.
Uhhhh... okay, so maybe this part was a little more difficult than he had been expecting.
WAIT NO! This was perfect; he had two stars close to the top of his paper, one lower down in the middle, and two at the bottom. Perfect for an HOURGLASS SHAPE. Or, no, to be EXTRA fancy, it could be a TIMETURNER. Abey had always wanted a timeturner.
Being extra careful to use a thin line, so the actual 'star' splodges wouldn't be covered up and totally hidden, Abey made his hourglass/timeturner shape before setting his painbrush to one side.
Beautiful! Now... okay, so a myth? A name? Uhhhhh. Okay, name was easy, and also technically as Abey had no plans to write a fake myth down, he could techically skip thinking one up at all, but it DID sound sort of fun, and there was already a story forming in his head actually about someone using a timeturner to go back and stop things from happening or make things happen that ultimately actually caused GREAT BIG GIANT PROBLEMS when they went back like that everyone he knew before didn't know him anymore and he was all alone and sad and stuff until the gods (OOH, OR MAYBE MERLIN) took pity on him and changed things back to how they were before but took his timeturner and threw it into the sky where it became a constellation, and that constellation would be a reminder not to mess with time.
Yes. Perfect. Good.
But staying in Abey's brain, actually.
Though he did write his own name on his paper (sort of), and also a name for the constellation too, in the same silver paint he had been using earlier.
'A.B.
The Remindur'
Aaaaaand done. Sort of.

They had to create a constellation, a myth, and shape now? Olivia liked the sound of that. Without anther thought, she turned her gaze back to her the parchment and began writing about the constellation that she would create. What could she easily construct a story from?Ah. She had it. The constellation would be a seashell and the myth would be about... She blanked on who it would be about. A girl? A boy? A sailor? A family? A ship filled with pirates? The possibilities were endless. She let her imagination and pen run wild.
SPOILER!!: parchment
Olivia Alice Holden
Fifth Year Gryffindor
Constellation name: Sliogan
Shape: Seashell
Myth: There once was a girl who lived in a small fishing village. She wanted to see the world but was promised to marry the son of a wealthy man. The son was a nice guy but she didn't love him. She had no interest of marrying him nor anyone at the time. One day, she saw a ship dock in their village. It was a magnificent ship decorated in so many beautiful, rich colours. The crew ran up the streets, telling wild tales of treasure and adventure. This grabbed her attention. She left the village and went to her home (located on the outskirts) and cut her hair so she could dress as a boy. So at night, she snuck onto a ship that headed out of her village. However, before she left, she found a seashell (a fan shape shell- the shape of this very constellation) and brought it with her as a reminder of where she came from and where home was. She took a piece of twine and bound the seashell to it, making it into a necklace.
The crew found her the next morning; however, it took them a while to realize that she was a girl. When they did find out, the captain stood up for her, informing the crew that she was his daughter who he had promised many moons ago to come and adventure with them. THe men respected this and the girl was treated with respect. Over the many months, she learned the ropes of the ship and became a valued member of the crew.
This girl grew up to be a great navigator and explorer. She sailed the seas fearlessly. She was kind to those that had nothing and kind souls alike but to those who weren't, they quickly became enemies of hers. However, she lost her seashell necklace during a male storm and her luck went sour.
Eventually her past caught up. Her fiancée tried to take her back to the small village for them to be married. She was captured and brought back to the village. On the day of the wedding, she escaped. No one knows how but apparently the captain from the ship came to save her. Though he wasn't a mortal man. He was the god of the ocean who was actually her father. He returned the necklace to her and let her go about her ways. Sailing the seas for eternity.
The seashell constellation is a reminder of this great story.
Taking her quill away from the parchment, she glanced down at the paper and nodded a few times. She was happy with the outcome of this. Good.
Keiyona looked at the time on her watch as she walked around her classroom. She loved observing her students as they worked on a project. She wanted them to be creative with their work tonight, she knew how hard it was to be in a class this late at night but she still wanted to see all of them trying at the very least. The Astronomy professor walked over to the classroom door and opened it. "Times up!" her voice chimed. "Please place your projects on my desk, make sure your desks are all cleaned up and you're all welcome to leave after that." she smiled at them. "Lastly, have a great night!" With that Keiyona made her way back to her desk to look over all the projects.
OOC:I'll be leaving the lesson open for a couple hours if any of you want to RP your characters leaving. Thank you everyone for attending my lesson! Hope to see you soon!

Time was up.
She rested her quill down on the table, admired her work for a moment (checking for spelling errors), and then set about packing up her items. Alright. Class was over. She enjoyed the activity a lot. Olivia loved having creative activities. Slipping her notebook and quill in her bag, she zipped it up and then picked up her project. Table clean? Check yes. "Thanks Professor!" she said as she placed her project down on the table. "Have a great night!"
