A bit confused about the plot? Housemates talking about a mysterious something going bump in the night? Here's where YOU can post and catch up on happenings around the castle and in Hogsmeade -- out of character, of course.

This means that unless your student character heard this stuff from other students or witnessed the actual event, your student character doesn't know about it.

Also, this is a reminder to everyone to only post updates on the school plot here. Please do not post the happenings of your student character in here; that kind of chat goes in the school chat thread.

The monster has appeared on the second floor!

Monster has also reached the third floor

They were much bigger than some of the others. Not as big as the man it had just seen the floor below, but they were big enough to make it move away nonchalantly.

Perhaps the girls would have caught sight of it as it crept away...

The monster is on the forth floor at the tapestry looking for children to eat

The monster has reached the fifth floor! It's caught someone!

Voices caught its attention the moment it stepped onto the fifth floor, or rather made its way onto this level of the castle by ceiling. There were two adult voices, but it was the sound of the other two that made it decide to cautiously investigate further. They sounded young ... the owners of those voices sounded like they would make for a tasty meal ... they were now its prey.

The creature's head peeked down the corridor from the ceiling. Right away it saw the two older figures walking down the hall and turning a corner, leaving two boys on their own. They were heading its way. Slinking back ever so slightly so it couldn't be seen, the beast waited, getting itself ready. Its mouth was filling to the brim with saliva, its adrenaline pumping.

When the boys came into view, the monster pounced down from the ceiling and latched its long fingers on both of them and started dragging them down the corridor and out of sight. It was now time to return to where it had come and enjoy the feast it had caught for itself.

The monster is on the sixth floor attempting to drag it's victims back into the portal with it

There were two ways the students could be of use. She knew there was no time to wait to call in the Ministry, and she knew the students wouldn't want to wait either. Hogwarts needed to fight back before ... well ... Regina didn't want to think about that.

And from the portal on the sixth floor:

"To make sure that everyone remains safe, a handful of staff members will be going through the portal while the rest of the staff remains here in the castle. If you are an older student, meaning you are a fifth year or above, you are welcome to accompany us because you have learned enough magic at this point to aide us in fighting against the monster and retrieving the boys. If you are a younger student, meaning you are a fourth year or below, you will remain in the castle. Your job is just as important. We, according to the research many of you did in the library, need to find the poltergeists." The one that was the source of the energy causing the portal to be there, to be exact.

Were there any questions? Now was a good time to ask before they put their plan into action.

OOC: Feel free to play as if your character is already here, or have your character arrive while Regina is giving instructions.

Under no circumstances was there Plan A going to be a handful of students dangling themselves in front of the beast like a piece of meat. It was bad enough that two innocent first years were being treated as such now.

The woman did not her head as the other suggestions started rolling out, contemplating which would work in their favour best. The fact that magic was weak in the alternate world was something that worried her, but there was hope if they all worked together as a unified force.

"I agree with those of you that are saying we should use runes and collective magic to, at the very least, stall the creature so we have enough time to get Mr. Botros and Mr. Rockefeller and get out," she stated, backing up some of the things that had been said. "We can try disillusioning ourselves before we leave, but I cannot say for sure if the effects will last long. It is something we will have to try, but we must not rely on it working. I do think we are on the right track though with casting a series of ropes on the creature and trapping it in a cage -- using runes and collective magic to make sure our efforts do not go to waste."

With that said, the headmistress turned to face the portal. They needed to go through it. Now. "Summon what you need, cast spells on yourself before heading through, listen to orders exactly as they are given, and keep your wand at the ready at all times. It is important that we get in and get out, all of us," she stated to the group. "Always be vigilant."

OOC: Sorry for glossing over everything, but we are ready to move things along. You may now post in the Alternate Hogwarts. Feel free to casually wander about and search, but please pay attention to posts made by the Narrator and the Monster.

Though individual magic in this world is practically a waste, the combined forces of the professors and students was not. Piece by piece, the protective barrier grew stronger and stronger. Some bits of the barrier faded, but it remained in tack nonetheless. With more will power, the barrier will surely stick long enough to free the boys and make a run for it.

Speaking of the boys, tendrils still died them up. Some rapid Severing Charms, casted by two or at most three people, would be enough to break them free.

Unless something were to go wrong ... STAY POSITIVE! CONSTANT VIGILANCE!

OOC: With the term quickly coming to an end, please feel free to move things along at a quicker pace. Remember the plan: set up a barrier, free the boys, escape. :)

If it was a fight they wanted, it was a fight they were going to get. And it was determined to win the feast of a lifetime.

Then without warning, when there was a slight pause in spells being casted, it latched itself onto the wall inside the room and crept along the top of the doorway upside down. It saw that the humans were running now, so the beast followed after them with rapid speed, ready to dodge whatever they threw at it.

OOC: You have roughly 12 hours to get through the portal.

"Good evening," she greeted the masses, her voice suddenly echoing throughout the entire hall. She stood there for a moment in silence to wait for the voices to quiet and for hundreds of eyes to gaze up at her.

"In all of my years in education, I do not think I had quite an eventful term like this one," Regina began, a smile on her face as she kept matters rather lighthearted. "While plenty of school rules were broken and some acted rather foolishly, I cannot let that overshadow how impressed and relieved I am that all of us are sitting in this room today. Because of the great perseverance and team work we all displayed this term, I feel that a deserved round of applause is in order for surviving the mysteries of the portal. Remember the lessons you learned this term and always stay vigilant."

The woman clapped her hands together. After a few moments, she stopped and looked over at the Slytherin table.

"Slytherin house also deserves a round of applause for, as I understand it, once again claiming the House Cup and keeping it in their possession. This term, the snakes have earned a total of three thousand and sixty points, winning the house-point championship title by a landslide. Congratulations, Slytherins, for your hard work over the course of this term. You have raised the bar even higher and have astounded us all with your house pride."

Again, the woman led the hall through another moment of applause. She searched through the table of students, mentally identifying the good apples that had helped their house make such a great accomplishment. This applause specifically was for them, not the bad apples that wanted to turn her hair grey.

"Lastly, I wish to recognize our graduating students and wish them luck as they venture off into the adult world," Regina continued, this time taking the time to glance at each table independently to glance at those who would soon be leaving the castle for the last time in the morning. "Please remember the lessons you have learned here, within and beyond the classroom, and take what you learned to do phenomenal things in the world and make us prouder than we already are."

One final applause was cued, this one lasting slightly longer than the others. The woman waiting for the hall to grow quiet once more for she had one more thing to say before it was time to eat.

"With all of that said, let us enjoy one last feast together before we head off to enjoy summer!" she said with a grandiose movement of her hand. Food from the kitchens suddenly appeared on all of the tables while the headmistress returned back to her seat.
