At exactly ten to two as per usual Professor Stewart was waiting for her students to arrive sporting her usual bright smile. Thankfully it's a gorgeous day outside with the sun shinning bright and a slight breeze to ruffle your hair since the day's lesson is being held out by the lake! You did remember to wear comfortable clothing and sneakers, didn't you?
Professor Stewart is waiting patiently beside a large blackboard that reads...
Quote:
Good Afternoon everyone!
Please take a seat on the grass or one of the mats I have provided beside me.
Before you sit please come pick out a one of the small tanks and bring it with you to your seat. You may play with what's inside and talk among yourself until the lesson begins.
Sure enough right beside the large blackboard was a stack of different colored mats to choose from should you not want to sit in the grass. On the other side of Professor Stewart are many small travel sized tanks each housing a toad. So come on up and collect your favorite one and go take a seat.
If you were one to be looking around you should've also taken notice to the four large tanks that were on the grounds. One at each corner of the perimeter. What might those be for?
OOC:Hello! Welcome to the second OOC lesson of the term! Have your kid grab a mat and a take before taking a seat! You're free to choose the color/style of the mat as well as the toad! All are common harmless toads. The lesson will begin in about 24 hours! The lesson has begun! Feel free to still jump on in and play as if you kid has been here all along!
***NOTE! Also I just realized in this post that I made an error when I posted the lesson on the noticeboards... Not only should they all be wearing comfortable clothing but clothing they don't mind getting dirty! You may edit your first post if you like or just add that bit into your next post or even act like your kid forgot! It's completely up to you! I'm really sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.

Skylar was listening, as the Professor started the lesson without wasting any time and asked them why she asked them to wear comfortable clothes that they wouldn't mind getting dirty. As if that wasn't obvious? She wanted them to be comfortable, because it was proven that when one was comfortable, they performed better. Actually, Sky didn't know that for a fact, but it sounded plausible. But Sky didn't raise her hand and offer up that suggestion, instead she merely jotted down a few notes of things her peers had said.
Time to practice, again Professor Stewart wasted little time, which was a good thing. More time for practical knowledge which was what they were here for; ah, conjuring cages! That was kind of cool, though the incantation sounded a bit like a tongue twister....
"Incarvolvo, Incarvolvo... Incarvolvo" she whispered a few times under her breath, not realizing she was mispronouncing the word slightly. She was ordinarily rather adroit in figuring out she was mispronouncing something; especially once she got to putting the incantation and wand movement to use and figuring out why it didn't work.
But before she could practice, the Professor asked another question, about how to make more toads. Reproduction, but that took time, didn't it? Though Charlotte's answer was definitely the more correct one. "The doubling charm, yes," she agreed nonchalantly, interrupting her incantation practice focus.

Having focused on taking notes and then practicing the spell, Rula hadn't paid a lot of attention to who was sitting around her until the boy next to her - who turned out to be the Gryffindor guy from the library research group - asked an interesting question. And, at that memory of the library, an idea struck her. The professor then sort of confirmed her idea with her answer.
Of course, someone needed to be very advanced with the spell to accomplish it, but could the monster from the portal be trapped by this spell? Considering all the discussion that had gone on with the library group, with the poltergeists and a portal in other places and the monster possibly not always having been a monster...could they trap it in a cage with this spell, and then it could be studied by the Ministry or whoever could figure out what exactly it was?
Maybe. Maybe not. It was only an idea.
Didn't seem like the kind of thing to bring up here either, so she mentally filed it away for another time and focused on the lesson again.
So Geminio was what they were going to be using next? Duplicating a lot of toads? Hmm, interesting.

Juno wanted to wait and see how long it took the charm to wear off. She was just interested in things like that. It wasn't hurting the toad at all. He was safe in the cage.
Juno listened to the question asked and absolutely agreed with everyone else's answers. Nodding her head, she raised her hand and said, "I also agree the doubling charm, Geminio, would be best to create more toads." She looked down at her toad, it was still in it's little cage.
Interesting...so very interesting.

So far everyone was saying the doubling charm but no one was trying it.. Leon wasn't even sure if that was the charm they would be using, but the Ravenclaw couldn't think of another one that would work..
Lest they were going for the rare human to road spell and quite honestly..
He would prefer to stay a human..
He kept silent, everyone else was saying the same thing.. no need to repeat it.

As each student gave their guess of what the lesson might have in store for them everything appeared on the board beside her. All it took was a wave of her wand for this to happen. The students didn't need to write any of this down just yet but she wanted them all to be able to see what each other had said.
"Amazing answers everyone! I would like you all to focus on a few details for me though before we get to our first little task of the lesson. Mud. Water. Those things make our little toad friends slippery. Not to mention they can jump all over the place. If our toads got loose and were hopping all about we would need to get a hold of them which might not be so easy here outside where it's an open area." She paused taking a moment to let them all think about that before continuing.
Was anyone catching on yet? "Rather then trying to catch them with your hands it would be much easier to capture them in a small cage. Which is what we will be learning right now. It's fairly simple and easy to do. The incantation is Incarcolvo and the wand movement is just a jab of your wand at whatever it is you're aiming to catch. If done correctly a mesh-like net will burst from your wand tip and around your target. On contact with the ground the netting will transform into a proper cage which you can easily pick up carry." Did that make sense?
Professor Stewart waved her wand on the board making the words appear..
Just so that everyone got the proper understanding of it Cami knelt down and removed a toad from one of the left over tanks. She set the toad down and aimed her wand at it. "Incarcolvo!" she cast the netting bursting forth from the tip of her wand and around the toad just as he went to leap into the air. As the toad and netting hit the grass the netting changed into a perfect cage with the toad inside.
"For the next couple of minutes I would like you all to give it a try on your toad friends. Remember it's pronounced In-car-col-VO." She would be walking around in case anyone needed help.
Carlton let out a little sigh of relief when professor Stewart assured him the toad wasn't his neighbor. He'd get into a lot of trouble trying to catch his neighbor with a net.
He practiced the incantation a few times out loud. But as soon as the professor told them to start the activity he got stressed. He didn't want to be the last student standing.
"Out you go, little toad." He murmured as he gently tilted the tank so it could hop out. There was a quick moment of peace between the toad and the young boy before the toad that reminded him of his neighbor decided to break the peace. In one swift movement it was off, running from captivity as fast as it could.
"Hey- WAIT!" Carlton reached for his wand and aimed it at the hopping toad. "Incarcolvo!" Yeah, nothing happened.
The young boy sprinted after it. "Incarcolvo, incarcolvo, INCARCOLVO!" A net shot out of his wand and landed somewhere in the distance. Carlton ran towards it and peered inside the cage only to see-
...
A rock.
He'd captured a rock. Where was Bertie the toad?! Carlton picked up the cage and looked around him on the ground in search for the animal but without any luck. Bertie had officially slipped away from him.
"I lost Bertie, professor." He said, slightly out of breath as he held up his cage. "I captured a rock."
SPOILER!!: 2nd mini-activity!

"Go ahead and do that now if you like or you may leave your toad in the cage for now."
"Before we move onto our main activity there's something missing. We need more toads." Hint hint. Professor Stewart looked at all her students before her. "Who can tell me how we can fix this problem? What transfiguration spell can we use to create more toads?" She was sure that most of the could already. "Tell me the name of the spell, what it does and if you like go ahead and give it a try on your toad." Yep, another mini activity before the real activity. Only this activity was attached to questions they all should know the answer too. There was a small smirk playing across the professors face indicating that she was asking this particular question for a good reason.
OOC: Here we go guys! So there's a few questions here along with a small activity. You can have the kids answer the questions and try out the spell or just have them answer the questions or do the spell itself! It's up to you. Those that do the spell can fail, can make more then one copy  or whatever else you like! I'll be moving on again in about 24ish hours!
Carlton listened to the other students mentioning the doubling charm as he looked at his little rock inside the cage. He wondered briefly where Bertie the Toad had run off to... He hoped he was enjoying the summer sunshine somewhere.
In the meantime, Carlton waited for the cage to release the rock inside and for the lesson to continue.

Oh? OOOOOOOOOH!
N E A T!
This was going to be an incredibly useful spell to have in his creature arsenal! Not that he disliked using his hands to catch and collect creatures though. He was a bit more of hands on person BUT!!!!!
Wand out, Derf was EAGER to give this one go...but just not on his toad. Because what if he ended up conjuring something not a net or cage...or it was too small and squished his toad? Nah, he was going to practice on...HIS TEXTBOOK!
"Incarcolvo...Incarcolvo...Incarcolvo...Incarcolvo. .." he chanted as he rummaged through his enchanted suitcase for it. Moving his other textbooks...and a spare pillow from his bed...and some jars of dirt...and, oh, well...no one needed to know he had that...and his fireseed from Herbology, Derf finally found his Transfiguration textbook and set it on the ground with a GRIN at his toad.
Feeling strangely confident with this spell, Derf flourished his wand at his book, "Incarcolvo!"
In the next instant, however, Derf found himself not in the presence of an caged textbook. Rather than go AROUND the book...the net and accompanying cage had gone right THROUGH it. Well...half of it.
Um....
So he had a half caged book. Hold flaming salamanders thank GOODNESS he hadn't tried this out on the toad first.

MAGIC ON THE TOAD?
The first year glanced nervously at his failed attempt at a CAGE and protectively reached into his tank for his toad. Nope. Not...nope.
Silent protesting was happening over here. How would he get more toads? Well...he would just go find them. And then catch them with his bare hands because this cage thing was just not happening.

Nat had been practicing while they were doing so. She had gotten the spell pretty easy so she started working on trying it nonverbally. That had been her practice since the beginning of term. She was finding the nonverbal a little more challenging which was causing her mind to really focus. Something that she welcomed greatly at the moment. So with her focus on her wand and the spell she practiced and practiced until her concentration was taken by the professor's voice once again.
Turning her eyes to the woman she sat quietly. Everyone kept saying the doubling charm, but they were in transfiguration so wouldn't it be that they would be transfiguring something into toads? Nat was curious at this and wondered if there was a transfiguration spell that could do this. She assumed the charm was correct though since it was the only thing she could really think of that would make more toads. "We could just go to the lake and search for more." It wasn't a spell, but it was a safe way of finding more toads. It was the only thing she really could think of that could help get more.

And honestly.... she wasn't so sure she'd be able to do that good of a job at it. Like she knew the charm and could cast it and everything, but what if half way through the activity the copied toad just disappeared or something?
Oh and she had better actually practice this cage thing. Phew. Got a bit sidetracked by her toad there.
"Geminio! Very good! That is quite alright, I do think that if the copied toads began disappearing it would make out next activity all that much more interesting." Cue knowing smile right now.

"Also, aim away from me if you think you'll throw up." ...Mostly helpful, anyway. She'd done that when she'd hit her head during a duel and it had been gross.
...
The spell they'd be using seemed easy enough and the Slytherin figured her toad would cooperate now that it wasn't going to be transformed into something. "See, this will actually be fun for you. You get to be free." If only for a moment. Really depended on how good she was at this making a net thing.
"Incarcolvo...Incarcolvo...In-car-col-vo...Incarcolvo." Mouthful, that was. Yikes. She said it fast, she said it slow, she said it while clapping out the syllables. She wanted to be comfortable with the way it rolled off her tongue before moving on and eventually, she was.
Letting her toad free, the brunette trained her wand and said clearly, "Incarcolvo!" Ugh, not fast enough. "Work with me here, okay? Please?" The toad was still moving, probably as fast and as far from her as possible. They really didn't seem to be a good match. "Incarcolvo!" ...Merlin. "Toad, I said, Incarcolvo!" HAH! Got him!
The thirteen year old skipped over to the little cage and peered inside, a smile in place. That was--
Oh, they were moving on.
...
More toads? Junia eyed her own for a moment, wondering if having more of him around would be wise. Hm... "I was thinking of the doubling charm, too. Just like Charlotte said." Wasn't that spell rather tricky and couldn't you make lots of copies or just one, depending on what you wanted?
"Good job!" Cami smiled watching as Junia went and collected her caged toad. "And you would be correct in your thought, Miss Botros."
SPOILER!!: Brent!

Brent scurried around until he finally came upon a loose toad that hadn't been caught. "Incarcolvo!" he shouted at it, giving a jab of his wand. It hopped away, causing the fourth year to hurry after it. He caught up with it quickly and gave another jab of his wand. "Incarcolvo!" he said again.
This time, it worked.
The mesh-like net burst from his wand and closed itself around the toad. When Brent spotted the little cage, he picked it up. So...about that next question. "I'm thinking Geminio, too," he said, raising his hand. So was that what he needed to cast now?
This was what she wanted to see as well. The students not giving up and going after their toad should it have tried to hop away on them. She smiled and nodded her approval, "Nicely done, Mr Westwood and yes you would be correct also."

Others were answering too. Noelle nodded at their answers because they were the same as Charlottes. Instead of following suit, Noelle just nodded and kept quiet.
She wasn't surprised that a couple of the students had chosen not to repeat their friends with the same reply. What she was a little disappointed in was the lack of anyone willing to give it a try. Cami smiled anyhow and moved onto the next person.

After several minutes of trying out the spell, the Ravenclaw had finally managed to catch the toad in the new cage within the tank. And then she waited…waited until she was aware of how to reverse it.
Finite…nice and simple.
Then she didn’t have to wait to move on or try again. “Finite,” she cast, the cage fading away and her toad friend free to hop around again. As for the issue about needing more toads…Cass had to think on the spell options. The doubling charm or Gemino curse others were saying made sense but wasn’t it considered more dark magic?
Another quiet one. That was quite alright.

When one of the younger ones had gotten up and chased after his toad, Camilla said nothing having full faith in the boy. It wasn't at all long before he returned holding up something inside the cage he had created. He had lost his toad and caught a...rock. Alright. "That's alright, Mr Lewis. Bertie the toad couldn't have gotten very far." There was an invisible boundary charm on the area already in place which she'd mention later. "You did get the spell to work and that's what really counts. If you would like to find Bertie you may or you can come up here and get yourself another toad." It was up to him.

Good. Very good. Camilla was glad to hear that he was alright and didn't need an ice pack or a trip to Healer Reed. "If you're sure then." She smiled watching as he was the only one to not attempt the spell on his toad but rather a textbook. The results of his half caged book were rather funny but the women didn't laugh instead she nodded her head. "Very good try. Remember your focus and intent. You'll get it soon enough," she smiled softly.
SPOILER!!: Nat!
Go and find more. Well this wasn't a spell but it was an answer and different then what the others were saying. "We could very well do that if we had more time." Right now they would be getting on with the activity.
Interesting. This was very interesting. Professor Stewart was rather surprised that not even one of the students had given the spell a try. "All of you that answered Gemino are correct. Gemino, the duplication charm. Nicely done everyone. The thing with Gemino is it's all about focus and intent as well as your own abilities to cast it. One copy can be made at a time or many many copies can be made. The time in which a copy lasts can also be greatly affected. For example should a first or second year cast it chances are they may not be able to and should they mange it," she paused for a breath before continuing, "the copy probably won't be exact or last very long at all. Probably only seconds."
Once more she looked around a small grin forming on her lips. "Maybe a third or fourth year would have better luck. They might very well end up with many many more copies if their attention was lacking. Some of the copies could last minutes or even hours."
"Now if I was to give it a try...," Camilla removed a toad from one of the cages behind her and set it down on the grass. Taking out her wand she flicked it in the direction of the toad, "Gemino!" one exact copy of the toad appeared beside the other. "That would happen. This one won't last very long at all as it wasn't intended to." Sure enough the copy disappeared. "If I wanted to though this could very well happen," once more the women flicked her wand at the toad casting, "Gemino!" Rather then one copy the toad seemed to keep multiplying. It wasn't long before these toads took off hopping about the area.
"If anyone would like to give it a try, you may do so right now but it's not required as we'll be moving on to the ACTIVITY!" Were they all excited yet? They should be. Camilla took a look around. "If everyone could gather their things away and bring it all up here by me along with the mats you were sitting on please we'll get started."
She waited a moment until everyone had done that. "Go ahead and remove your toads and set them down on the grass now. The cages can be put aside." Another minute or so was given for this. Lifting her wand then Camilla gave it a wave lifting a previous transfiguration spell that had been placed earlier.
The surrounding area was no filled with knee-high patches of grass, different sized puddles of water, patches or dirt/mud. There was flowers and lily pads in the puddles and many more toads hopping, laying about. Lets not forget the four very large tanks. One set up in each corner now glowing a different color to represent each house (red, blue, yellow or green).
"For the rest of the lesson we will be catching toads! I want you to use the Incarcolvo spell! You will be working together with your houses to get as many toads as you can into your houses tank. This might sound simple but it won't be...not all of these are real toads. Copies are everywhere and can disappear at anytime. House points will be awarded at the end of the lesson!"
"Does everyone understand?" It was fairly simple rule wise. Capture the toads and put them into the house colored tanks. "On the count of three... One. Two. Three!" Go! Go! Go!
OOC: It's time for the Main Activity! The rules are very simple. Capture a toad (no more then two in a cage please!) using Incarcolvo OR their hands if they really want to and put it into your Houses glowing tank! There is copies of toads that will disappear so go ahead and let that happen! There's puddles or water, flowers, grass and dirt all over the place so many chances to get muddy or lose/find a toad! Work with your housemates too! I'd like to see at least 3 labeled posts (house and whether or not the toad made it into a tank!) Professor Stewart will be around and she might even help/or hinder the progress!

Holy. toads.
Junia's eyes widened slightly as Professor Stewart made many, many, many copies of a toad. Merlin's beard, that was impressive. Also excessive. She decided against trying the spell on her own toad, as how many defiant toads did you really want around during an activity like this? Plus, she was starting to fear that she would end up stepping on the poor things while running around trying to catch them and that-it made her stomach flip-flop. It didn't help that the tall grass and puddles of muddy water where now all over the place. Should've worn her wellies.
Taking her small toad out of its cage, the third year held him in her palm for a moment. "Be fast out there and stick to open areas where people can see you. You don't want to get squished." She paused and then added, "And if you're going to get caught, try to be caught by a Slytherin, okay?" Like, that wasn't too much to ask, right? She set the tiny creature free and then readied her wand. Game on.
Deciding that hanging around the patches of dirt might be her best bet, Junia crouched down and made herself very still. Any sudden movements would surely scare the toads more and she wanted to catch one off guard. That was her plan, anyway. So even when her classmates passed her by, getting mud onto her soft trousers, the thirteen year old didn't make a peep. She simply wrinkled her nose and willed herself to concentrate.
...And all her waiting and concentrating seemed to pay off.
A rather large and slightly intimidating toad hopped right in her path, causing Junia to hold her breath for a moment as she trained her wand. EEP! ""Incarcolvo!" The sound of her voice made the toad jump, but it was too little, too late. Her net closed around the creature, hardening into a cage. It was a victory. A small one, but one nonetheless.
She hurried over to her team's large green tank to deposit the toad, hoping it wouldn't disappear before she got it there. Seemed luck was on her side this time as it didn't, not yet. One down...many, many, many toads to go.

That was a whole lot of toads hopping around everywhere! Leon blinked his grey eyes as he looked around..And they had to catch them and put them in tanks? Leon would actually much rather help out the Hufflepuffs, cause of Juno. Even though there were a lot of Ravenclaws around, sometimes he felt like there were only three or four of them.
Ahh well..
Leon released his frog from his cage and watched it go hopping away, trying to keep a mental note of where the frog was!
He moved to the front of the class and put his mat away as he was instructed, and then as the Professor spoke and said GO! He started to head out into the swamp like thing and look around for a frog!
Ohh! There was one!
Hopping through a puddle! Leon grinned and got out his wand and said "Incarcolvo! "
Yessss!! Froggie was hisssss!!
Leon picked up the caged toad and then headed over to his teams tank and dropped it in..

Olly could try the duplication spell, or he could just go have fun with the main activity. The second option sounded much better so that's what he was going to do. It was a competition, which he always liked because he was very competitive. Sorry Noelle, but this is where they must part ways. He jumped up and headed into the tall grass and murky swamp. For now Olly was just heading toward the Slytherin tank. He figured he'd probably run into a few toads along the way. They were all over. Sure enough, one almost jumped right over his feet. Olly's first instinct was not to use his wand, but to reach down and grab it. Unfortunately, as soon as his fingers closed around the toad's body it disappeared. Dang it, just a duplicate.
No matter, he was sure he'd be able to find another one around somewhere. He crouched in the grass and listened quietly. Come on toads, come out come out wherever you are. Olly looked around, and eventually caught sight of a toad hopping a few feet to his right. He aimed his wand. "Incarcolvo." The net shot out of his wand and made a cage around the toad. Olly waited a few seconds to see if it would disappear and was pleased that this one seemed to be real.
Olly grabbed the cage and turned back toward the Slytherin tank. He hurried that way and deposited the toad. That made two total now, but there would be a lot more than that if Olly had anything to do with it. He turned and hurried back into the grass to look for more toads.

Of course it was the duplication charm; it wasn't as if there were many more options that Skylar could think of in terms of rapid duplication of toads or anything really. And it wasn't required for them to practice it, so for now, Skylar just left that incantation alone, figuring she would have plenty more time to practice it down the road in her education.
Time to catch some toads with a cage, as that was the main point to the activity, not learning to master duplication spell. "Incarvolvo!" Skylar said clearly, as she practiced... but as she said it, well there was nothing except for the toads hopping out of the way. And a pebble rolled her way? Just coincidence, probably.
Huh? Listening to some older students nearby and watching as they deposited toads into their house tanks, she trying to focus on what she had been saying. She hadn't THOUGHT she was saying it wrong, but when nothing happened, she really tried listening to what her classmates were saying.

No sooner had Junia returned to her hunt than she found herself tripped up by a toad. The third year had been minding her own business mostly, avoiding a rather large puddle in her path, when a toad hopped RIGHT where she was going to step. It all seemed to move in slow motion from that point on, the thirteen year old giving a SQUEAK and then stutter stepping on to some wet, slippery mud. Her shoe slid and she lost her balance, arms windmilling in the air as a last-ditch effort to balance herself. It didn't work, though. It was like the slug pit from the beginning of the year all OVER again! Down she went in a rather ungraceful manner, onto her side and right in the mud.
Another toad had joined them at this point and Junia felt the creature hop onto her leg. She wrinkled her nose and reached out to grab it with her hand but just as she closed her hand around it, it disappeared. ...REALLY?!
Let your light shine || Be the sun || You're important. Always.
Noelle watched as the professor made copies of the toad. Wow. That was neat. She'd have to try that out. Oh? They could?? Noelle grabbed her wand and tried out the spell. Only.. the toad was a little deformed... and it disappeared seconds after it was conjured. She tried again. This time with more confidence. The copy of the toad was still different.. but it wasnt bad. And it stayed a little longer.
Oh yay! Activity time!
Noelle got up and left Olly's side to go put her things over to the side and then take the tank over as well. She wasted no time in casting her net again. "Incarcolvo." She said with confidence. Hirsch taught her confidence was key. She picked up her toad that was now safely in a cage.
Heading back over to her tank, she dropped the toad in.

Realizing her error and feeling slightly embarrassed by her mispronunciation, Skylar said it correctly a few times under her breath, to try and enunciate it correctly. "Incarcolvo. Incarcolvo. Incarcolvo."
She could do this. How hard could it be to catch some toads and deposit it into the tank? Treading carefully through the muddy grass, the third year paused, took a deep breath, before confidently saying "Incarcolvo" and hoping for the best. Except all that was in the cage THIS time was just grass.... NOT a toad.
Scrunching up her face in determination to do SOMETHING, she thought quick and flicked her wand in haste, "impediamenta!" And as the jinx was supposed to do, it slowed the toad down just enough for her to reach down and pick it up with her bare hands and deposit it into the Slytherin tank. Okay, so it wasn't a transfiguration spell, but she HAD caught a toad, which was part of the activity, wasn't it? To catch toads?

Cool. He had the right answer AND a toad in a cage. The lesson was starting to look up for Brent. Which was probably a good thing, though, because apparently the lesson was moving on to the main part. He watched in fascination as the professor first copied one toad then pretty much produced an army of them. His eyed widened as the professor invited EVERYBODY to do the same. Duuuuuuude. Do you know how many toads that would be?!
Brent followed all the instructions then suddenly found himself standing right smack in the middle of a toad habitat. Pretty cool stuff. He then set about the task of catching all the toads he possibly could. This was pretty important, because the end of the year was coming upon them, and apparently they were getting house points for this. This could easily help Slytherin WIN!
Wand in hand, he took off after the toads. Finding one, he jabbed his wand forward. "Incarcolvo!" he shouted out. The mesh net shot from his wand and surrounded the toad. AWESOME! That was one toad down and about 40 million to go it seemed.
Levi had been taking turns between staring Professor Stewart and taking notes when he realized they were giving permission to cast the duplicating spell. Which he did for quite a while, with varying degrees of success; it was much more difficult to duplicate lasting toads than just Charm notes for Blaise Bellaire. He supposed it had something to do with toads being living things, and all.
Anyway, some of them had disappeared within seconds. Others had lasted for over a minute and then a couple just happily hopped away. He had no delusions about his duplicates being permanent, but he had to see the positives. Focus on those. Otherwise he'd give himself a stress induced rash because if he failed at THIS then what did that MEAN for his future Transfiguration OWL marks?
Anyway.
Levi began casting "Incarcolvo!" all over the place because surely at least one of the frogs would fall. Which, one did. Happily the boy, headed over to his toad and shoved it in the Gryffindor tank.

Brent was on a roll! Well, he had only caught one toad, but he wasn't toad-less, so to him, that was on a roll! He ran after a second toad with a newfound energy rush from catching that first toad. He was going to get another...and another...and another, and then maybe it would help Slytherin would win this thing, and it'd probably secure that house cup! His first year here, and his house might win that cup!
"Incarcolvo!" he called out, jabbing his wand at a second toad. He was so sure he'd catch it, that he almost dashed forward to pick it up just as it hopped away. "WAIT...WHAT?" he called after it. It couldn't just get away. Frowning, he took off after it, mud slinging up on his pants as he did so. "Incarcolvo!" he called again, but with no such luck. Okay, now the toad had made him mad.
"INCARCOLVO!" he said, jabbing forward. Still NO TOAD. Okay, this was ridiculous.

The looks on her students faces as more and more toads appeared around them was...priceless. That was exactly what she was going for. Toads were EVERYWHERE! Hopping across kids feet, landing in puddles, hiding in mud and dirt.
Professor Stewart was walking around not at all bothered by the mud that was splashing up on her pants as students and hops went passed her. Oddly enough the women appeared to be somewhat in her element as she looked around. "Amazing job so everyone! It looks to me as if Slytherin is in the lead...will it remain this way or will one of the other houses take over?!"
Quote:
What was going on?
Did that toad in front of you just disappear? And that one...and that one too?!
Surely even with all the running around you're doing you would notice that toads everywhere started began to disappear.
There seems to be about quarter fewer toads then there was before!
OOC: From now until the end of the activity I will be making random posts! Keep your eye for them to see what's going to happen! You have about 30ish hours left for the activity!

Olly was approaching another toad when it disappeared just like the first one. Dang it! He looked up and noticed that there were way fewer roads than there had been just a minute ago. Had they all been caught? We're the other teams that quick? A quick glance at each of the tanks revealed that no, the other toads had not been snatched up by the other teams. He was also delighted to find that Slytherin seemed to be in the lead at the moment.
Olly was determined to help them maintain that lead. He changed directions and crept through the mud quietly. It wasn't long before he spotted another unsuspecting toad. "Incarcolvo!" The net shot out of his wand and quickly formed a cage around the toad. Olly picked it up triumphantly and added it to the Slytherin tank.

This was going to be interesting. Natalia couldn't even help but smile a bit. She was kind of looking forward to this little game. It was just what she was needing to help get her mind off of other things. Getting up and taking her things to where she was told she watched as everyone started and the toads all started hoping away.
Where they disappearing?
That was interesting and Nat went off looking for one. Was there a way to tell the difference? She started to study the toads a bit trying to see if there was anyway to determine if you could make out which was real and which was fake. At this moment she really couldn't see a difference so it was just a go after whatever one was closer.
""Incarcolvo!" Her wand movement went as told and the net went shooting out towards the toad. A cage moving around it she smiled. [b] "Well hello there. I'm going to say you are the real deal now aren't you. She took him and put him with the other Slytherin toads.

Skylar had been frolicking around in the mud, rather enjoying the feel of the squishiness beneath her shoes and not caring - for once - about the mud that was getting splashed on her trousers. Her gray-blue eyes surveyed the scene for toads hiding about and for ones she might be able to capture. She was determined to use the cage spell at least once with great effect, rather than using other spells in her arsenal.
Focus, Skylar, focus. Closing her eyes, she felt mud splatter up on her, which must have been from someone else walking by her. Her eyes flung open as she glanced around to see who might have just rudely ran through splattering mud - or worse, someone was FLINGING mud and wanted to start a mud fight?? Whatever the case, not cool, and just made the third year want to see Slytherin tank with MORE toads than the other houses.
"Incarcolvo!" she cast, as her wand jabbed towards an unsuspecting toad. The cage worked perfectly, only there was no toad, because someone was definitely playing a trick on her, as the toad suddenly disappeared. Strange. And wait, there was another one that disappeared? And another? And another? Were these the charmed duplicated toads? Or was someone just THAT good at snatching toads right before her gaze. A quick glance at the four house tanks told her no; they were just disappearing from the opportunity to be caught.
Scrunching her face up in more determination now to keep the Slytherin lead, Skylar called out "Incarcolvo!" on another toad that seemed to have taken a liking to a leaf. The cage flew from her wand and around the toad. Hah! She knew she could do at least one. Now to carry it over to the Slytherin tank.

Working with members of his house was something that Rooney both enjoyed and disliked. Team work, he loved. Having to maybe communicate, he did not. Luckily, this task didn't require too much of the chatting between members of his house and so he could just power on through the activity how he needed to. Through the gross grass and all. Lucky that he had paid attention to the class instructions and worn clothes that he was okay with completely ruining. Perhaps something light and easy would help him get to terms with using this new wand of his. The first toad he lunged after disappeared just as he got near it, which made him groan in annoyance.
Rooney had initially wanted to use his hands just out of new habit, but having the toad literally just disappear in front of him just sparked his NEED to do well. Maybe it was a good thing... Maybe it was the thing he needed.
Getting up, he crept up carefully on the next toad he saw and pointed his wand. "Incarcolvo!" As instructed, the wand did as told and a net closed around the toad so Rooney was able to add it to the Ravenclaw tank and be on his merry way. Really merry because a spell had actually worked with this new wand. Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!

After getting his first toad in the tank, Leon turned around to find another one when..
Chinese Fireballs! They were disappearing! He started to move through the watery land trying to find a road that would actually stay but.. every single animal he pointed his wand at..
Vanished!
The seventh year sighed and ran a hand through his hair as he looked around, his grey eyes scanning to find a frog that wasn't going to up and pull a disappearing act on him!
Finally the tall boy found a toad that was seeming to stick around for now, and he moved through the tall grass to get it..waiting for it to stop hopping just long enough.. there! He waved his wand and said "Incarcolvo! " Netting burst from his wand and then formed a cage around the toad..
Phew!
Leon picked up the cage and then slogged through the swamp type land towards his tank..
Henry felt some sort of sense of relief when they were told that they wouldn't be actually transfiguring the toads into anything. But he wasn't sure why. Because they certainly didn't feel anything or get hurt when they were transformed, right? He didn't think so at least, but he didn't dwell on that though for long. He did get distracted playing with the toad once he had practice the spell a few times and took him out of the tank.
His little toad didn't seem to want to hop to anywhere once he was on the ground, just preferring to chill where he was. Henry thought he could relate to the little guy. He felt like that sometimes, especially lately. But at any rate, even though he did want to join in on his activity, his toad was making it a little too easy to be captured. He kind of prompted the toad's back end with his wand to get him going a little bit before he could try to capture him... or any other toad.
It seemed like there weren't as many toads left once the Hufflepuff finally got into the game. Did everyone really catch that many or... hey, wait, did that toad just disappear? Must have been a duplicated one. Henry looked for another that he could capture. Ah, there was another. Henry took off after a hopping toad and pointed his wand. "Incarcolvo!" A netted cage sprang from his wand and around the little toad. Success! Or... not, as the toad promptly disappeared.
Okay, that was slightly frustrating, but he looked around for another toad that hopefully was real this time. Henry looked suspiciously at one hopping towards a rather muddy patch of the grounds. Would this one disappear? Only one way to find out. "Incarcolvo!" Another netted cage captured this toad and Henry walked over to pick it up. So far, so good. "Why don't you join some of your friends?" Henry grinned at the little toad as he carried it over to the Hufflepuff tank. He figured the toad would rather be out and free to hop around than be caged up, but he at least tried to put a positive spin on things.
