Slytherin toad missed

What was going on with these toads now? Did someone give them an energy drink? They seemed to be rushing away quickly and Natalia took off after a group of them. She was going to catch a few more if she was going to help her house win.

"Incarcolvo"

The net flew out and around two of the toads! YES! This was exactly what she needed. As the cage was going to form one of them toads jumped quickly and got away, but with the jump her concentration seemed to falter because the cage never fully formed and the other toad jumped from the half-open cage.

"No you don't" She jumped landing on the ground with one toad leg in her hand. "Come here bud, you are mine."

Hmmmm. Toads. There weren't so many now were they. EXCEPT THERE! The head girl had dropped TWO of them. SO that meant they were FREE FOR THE taking! Charlotte ran over and since she was already muddy she didn't much mind the fact that there was a great big mud pool there. Had Natalia noticed it? Char splashed right into it, reaching to grab the second of the escaped toads. AND CAUGHT! Except the mud made it too slippery to keep hold of! It slipped away and sprang onto Nat's leg. Char DIVED AGAIN. Couldn't cast! Couldn't when the toad was on a person! Too many tangle risks and she didn't want to catch a head girl in a cage.

She DID want that toad though. Watch out Natalia!

Oh she noticed and her look of disgust that her hair was now muddy was on her face, but she still had the leg of the toad. Though the mud was causing her to lose her grip. She tried to get a better grip when she felt something on her leg. First reaction was to scream and jump away, but her eyes went to the toad and her reaction time wasn't fast enough when she had a lion diving for her.

SPLASH WENT THE MUD!

She was covered in mud, covered and now had a toad and a lion on her. She blinked a few times at Char before realizing the toad was still there. "It was on me so it's mine." Yep that's how it worked. So she tried to push the girl off of her into the mud pool and grab the toad at the same time.

Char didn't mind mud, did she?

Post 3 - Slytherin - 1 Toad

Come here toad! The toad was hopping away from Olly, so he hopped after it. Maybe not the best way to chase a toad but whatever that was happening. He could have caught up to it faster if he was just running, or even walking, like a regular person but he was hopping so it took him a bit longer than it could have. It was fun though. "Incarcolvo." There was the net, and then the toad was in a cage. Yay! This spell was fun. Olly picked up the cage and added it to the Slytherin tank. One more for Slytherin.

No Char didn't mind mud. In fact this was kind of fun! Mud was getting everywhere though. Good thing she'd come in comfortable clothes that didn't matter about being mucky.

"No WAY! Not yours without a cage!" YEAH! Did the Slytherin think THIS Gryffindor was backing down? Nope! But you know what was impossible to grab when you were muddy? Toads! And Charlottes! She pushed back and brought her wand up to give it a go catching that toad.

"Incarcolvo!"

Bazinga 03-28-2017 03:49 PM

Nat might have laughed if she was watching this, she might have, but right now she wasn't laughing. Slopping around this mud wasn't something she enjoyed. It better at least help her skin if nothing else. "Get off and I'll put it in the cage." Girl was already off now, but still it was on her it was Nat's. She was going for the toad and Charlotte was not getting it.

Slipping and sliding she jumped for the toad again with a big splash of the mud and half her knocking into the younger lion. She put her hand around the toad just as the spell was cast. She felt the net and then the cage before she could react and get her own wand out.

The head girl was caught and the toad went hoping away freely.

Char's eyes widened as she saw what she'd ended up catching. Well, whoops? It was good to know that the spell could apparently stretch enough to cage someone? An actual person. Whooooooooooops. Giggle.

"I hope there's enough room in there for you!" Char sat up and looked around for the toad, but it was nowhere in sight now. Smart toad.

"You can finite that yourself, right? Because I have toads to catch! Byeee!" Now. Where were the toads? Char began hunting around for another one by some reeds. Maybe that was where the toad had taken refuge?

Sounded.... sounded like a toad was there. Maybe she could flush it out and cast a spell in its trajectory again?

And since Natalia was in her cage over there....

Charlotte yelled and spooked the hiding toad out of the reeds.

"Incarcolvo!" And......... CATCH.

She picked up the toad in its new cage, and ran it over to the Gryffindor tank. YAS.

Bazinga 03-28-2017 05:41 PM

I can't! lol

Nope!

There was no room in this cage. The head girl was stuck her hands moved around just enough to move near where they were when the cage happened, but she couldn't get to her wand that had been placed in her holster when she tried to grab the toad with her hands. So now she just laid in the mud and in the cage.

"A LITTLE HELP PLEASE!"

The least Char could do was get her out of the cage since she put her in and took her toad. She looked around and watched the others catching their toads.

Gryffindor better not get extra points for the head girl caught!

ChanceCoeur 03-28-2017 06:16 PM

Post 3: No Toad ._.

Noelle looked up as the professor caught a few toads. She giggled as others were catching the copies and they disappeared.

"Incarcolvo!" She said pointing her wand at another toad. She grinned as it was caged but as she went down to pick it up, watched it disappear.

Whaaat?? noooo

Noelle looked around before chasing another toad. "Come here you!" She giggled and dove for it as she pointed her wand and yelled, "Incarcolvo!"

Only, she didn't catch one this time.

Bugger.

Oh gosh, Nat was still in the cage. Whooooooops.

Char bounced back over there and quite grandly cast finite. Probably with more drama than necessary.

"Are you okay? Sorry! I didn't know I could even make the cage that big!" Charlotte offered the older girl her hand to help her up. She could be trying to catch another frog but it was more important to be nice and a good sport, right?

Kolyander 03-28-2017 08:48 PM

Mud was everywhere!

Students were running and falling into the mud, that was everywhere.

Professor Stewart would have to ensure that each and every one of them was clean before they made their way back inside or she might end up hearing from the Headmistress. Right now though her attention needed to be on making sure no one got themselves hurt. It was right then that she heard someone shouting for help.

"What in the world?" Cami blinked at the sight before her aiming her wand at the Head Girl who was currently in cage?! Before she could cancel it however Charlotte had stepped into to help Nat. "Are you alright, Miss Franks-Mundie?" She walked through the mud to join the two girls.

Looking around Camilla could see there was next to no toads left. Perfect timing as the time was up for today. "Wonderful wonderful job everyone! That's it for today's lesson!" She smiled moving around the perimeter taking a quick count of the toads inside each house tank. "Slytherin is the days toad catchers with fourteen toads. Congratulations to you all you'll be getting fifteen house points! Gryffindor came in second with six toads. You all will be getting ten house points and Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff tied with four frogs! Both houses will be awarded five house points!" In her opinion they all had done amazingly well.

"Before you all get your things and head back inside I'd like you to tell me what you thought of today's lesson." Yep, she wanted some feedback from them all. "Also please clean yourselves with the cleaning charm, if you do not know how to I can help you. There is chocolate frogs near the black board if anyone wants one." There hadn't been snacks given before the lesson so she was giving them one now like always.

"There's one other thing. If you would like to keep one of the toads you may do so! Don't forget to take one of the tanks for it to live in and just let me know if you're taking one so I can make note of that!" Camilla had already gotten the okay for the toads to be kept as pets and she really hoped that at least a few of the students would consider it.

OOC: That's the end of our activity everyone! I'll leave this open for awhile longer so the kids can answer Professor Stewart's final question, get themselves cleaned up and get a chocolate frog as well as take a toad with them as a pet!

Bazinga 03-28-2017 10:29 PM

She was going to be stuck here until the end of class, wasn't she? The fate of the head girl was starting to look as if she might be in the cage for awhile when she saw Char coming back. Once the cage was gone the head girl stood up and stretched a bit. "Thanks" She looked down at her close and realized she was a muddy mess. "I'm fine, good work with the cage though." She was good with her wand obviously.

Looking up as the Professor had noticed she was caged up she nodded, "I'm fine Professor." Nothing to worry about. She just was ready to be clean. Taking her wand she cleaned herself up before moving to gather her things. "I think it was a great lesson professor. There is use for this spell outside of school if you ever were trying to catch a pet or work with animals." It wasn't just a spell to learn how to do for class and never use it again. That was the best part.

Once the professor was finished with them Nat went and gathered her things. As much as she liked the toads she didn't need one for a pet. Her pets were enough. "Will the extra's just go into the lake and be part of the school?" That seemed like a great place for them.

PhoenixRising 03-28-2017 11:26 PM

Skylar had been searching for toads in the distance, hoping maybe that there was one or two still left hopping around. She heard the commotion of a mud fight between Charlotte and Nat and had to stop a moment to be amused. Sure she probably should have done something, but she was clear on the other side of the room AND it was rather funny to watch from the sidelines. When Char caged the head girl, that was when Sky finally started back through the grassy mud to end the charm. Despite her differences from the Head Girl, Nat was still her house leader and Sky did respect that. Only to find Char had returned to remove the cage before Sky could get there.

And then the Professor called time on the lesson and Slytherin had captured the most toads!!! The third year felt a swell of pride that she had contributed to that, as Professor Stewart peppered them with another question as well as offered them a toad they could KEEP as a pet!! UH YES PLEASE. Sure the Diggory household already had lots of pets already, but having another wouldn't be that much more of a burden.

"I think it was great. Especially because it let us vent some energy in the terms of athletic release." Yes that was her way of saying, the students needed a sport here. "As well as get some frustrations out too." Because the lockdown they'd been in for months, well, did that need more explaining?

No chocolate frog for her, but she did pick out of the toads that seemed to be looking at her. And she supposed she ought to clean herself up too. Quickly and efficiently flicking her wand at her muddy attire and shoes, she cast "Scourgify," as the mud siphoned off, before looking around particularly at the younger students.

"If anyone needs help with the cleaning charm, I can help too," Skylar offered.

ChanceCoeur 03-29-2017 12:41 AM

Ending up!

Darn.

Gryffindors didnt win. Slytherins were in 1st place in the house cup and here. She giggled though at Nat being stuck in Char's net.

"The lesson was great. I had a lot of fun." A little competition and fun was needed around the castle these days.

Noelle used the cleaning charm to clean herself off. She needed to run up and change into her robes before her next class.

"Good day Professor!" She said before calling out to whoever needed to come with her so they could change and head to the next class.

littledhampir 03-29-2017 01:13 AM

Olly was just approaching another road but it seemed time was up and the lesson was over for today. He frowned, until it was announced that slytherin had been the winner. That brought a grin to Olly's face. "I thought it was really fun Professor! Everybody needs to get muddy sometimes. And I like having competitions. They're fun!" And they could keep a toad too? Olly wanted to but... he didn't know anything about taking care of a toad. Besides, Henry probably wouldn't be too thrilled if he brought one home. He didn't think crups and toads got along well. So Olly bid goodbye to the toads before cleaning himself off and heading back inside.

Suziella 03-29-2017 02:16 AM

Juno quickly cleaned herself off with a non-verbal cleaning spell. She had been caked in mud and water and it was not cute. Juno approached the professor as soon as she was cleaned off, grabbing a chocolate frog as she went.

"I think it was a great interactive lesson. We kind of need the outside time with all the insanity going on. So, awesome lesson Professor!" Juno smiled, "And thanks for the chocolate. Have a great day!" Juno grabbed her bag and met up with Leon, and a few other kids to escort them back to the castle.

Anna Banana 03-29-2017 02:28 AM

Dude. This was probably one of the best classes Brent had been in all year. For one, they'd WON the house points. Two, he'd had a pretty awesome time making a sport of toad-capturing, and then three, there were CHOCOLATE frogs! What was there to complain about? Brent decided to express all of this in one over-excited answer.

He raised his hand. "You know what I think, Professor? This was awesome! It reminded me of sports, because I'm really into that kind of thing," he said. "There's not many sports here, so it was cool to get out and play a good competition. Thanks for the chocolate frogs, too!" Speaking of which, he'd hurried up and cleaned up, so he could beeline to the chocolate frogs and claim one before they were all gone.

"Yo, anybody need any help with the charm?" he asked, gesturing toward his wand. You know what would have been fun? Literally EVERYONE cast aguamenti at one time. Heh.

"Oh good!" Char laughed a little, glad there wasn't any hard feelings. It HAD been fun. Which she was about to tell the professor too. But first, "Toads don't live in lakes, Nat. Frogs are the ones that like water." So don't put the toads in the lake!

Char cleaned herself off with scourgify and also a drying spell because she was kind of DAMP now too.

"The class was fun, professor! Thanks!"

Good. Natalia was completely unharmed therefore no harm had been done in the accidental caging of the Head Girl. "I'm glad you liked the lesson and found some use in the spell." She gave her a smile. "Toads much prefer drier land and don't spend a lot of their time in water. I may release these ones on the grounds away from where they might get harmed."

This didn't surprise her that someone had mentioned not having 'sports' here at the school. She knew a lot of the students wanted something more physical in the sports department like Quidditch or something. "Well since everyone enjoyed this lesson so much I'll consider holding more lessons outside, get you all moving while you learn." Inactive lessons were the best of both worlds. "You're welcome enjoy them."

As the students began to rid themselves of the mud and head back inside, Professor Stewart got started on re-transfiguring everything to it's original state. There was quite a bit to do getting rid of all the mud, puddles and tall grass. It wouldn't take her very long to do though thankfully.

The important thing here was not only did the students learn something today but that they had a good time.
