At exactly ten to two as per usual Professor Stewart was waiting for her students to arrive sporting her usual bright smile. Thankfully it's a gorgeous day outside with the sun shinning bright and a slight breeze to ruffle your hair since the day's lesson is being held out by the lake! You did remember to wear comfortable clothing and sneakers, didn't you?
Professor Stewart is waiting patiently beside a large blackboard that reads...
Quote:
Good Afternoon everyone!
Please take a seat on the grass or one of the mats I have provided beside me.
Before you sit please come pick out a one of the small tanks and bring it with you to your seat. You may play with what's inside and talk among yourself until the lesson begins.
Sure enough right beside the large blackboard was a stack of different colored mats to choose from should you not want to sit in the grass. On the other side of Professor Stewart are many small travel sized tanks each housing a toad. So come on up and collect your favorite one and go take a seat.
If you were one to be looking around you should've also taken notice to the four large tanks that were on the grounds. One at each corner of the perimeter. What might those be for?
OOC:Hello! Welcome to the second OOC lesson of the term! Have your kid grab a mat and a take before taking a seat! You're free to choose the color/style of the mat as well as the toad! All are common harmless toads. The lesson will begin in about 24 hours! The lesson has begun! Feel free to still jump on in and play as if you kid has been here all along!
***NOTE! Also I just realized in this post that I made an error when I posted the lesson on the noticeboards... Not only should they all be wearing comfortable clothing but clothing they don't mind getting dirty! You may edit your first post if you like or just add that bit into your next post or even act like your kid forgot! It's completely up to you! I'm really sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.
Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Zelena made her way to the lesson, enjoying the feel of the sun on her skin. She noticed the assortment of mats, small tanks with a toad in each one of them and four large tanks. This made her quite curious.
She smiled at Professor Stewart and greeted her with a "Hello, Professor. How are you?" Zelena grabbed a green mat from the pile. The jeans she was wearing hadn't been worn before and she also was going to show her house pride. She picked a small tank and made her way back to her mat which she had placed not far from the blackboard but making sure that she was not in the way of any of the small tanks

Early again? If Janelle wasn't careful, this might become a habit. The Ravenclaw arrived for Transfiguration class to find she was one of the first ones there. Not a problem. She had enjoyed her slow walk to the lake. Now she could have a few moments to enjoy the outdoors in relative peace and quiet. "Good Morning Professor", Janelle said cheerfully.
Reading the blackboard, Janelle proceeded to follow the instructions. She had no problem sitting in the grass, but since mats were offered, she reached down and chose a blue one. Picking out a prime spot in the grass, Janelle deposited her mat there. Then she went over to the tanks. She peeked inside and smiled. Toads. Would they be transfiguring them? And into what?, she wondered. Looking into a number of tanks, Janelle found the toad that seemed right for her. She lifted the tank and carried it back to her mat. After gently placing tithe tank next to her mat, she sat down. She'd take this time before class to get to know hr toad.

"Hello Professor." The third year was cheerful and it showed. Something about the warmth of the sun on her face and the promise of summer soon approaching. Fresh air helped, too. Didn't it always? More classes should be held outside.
After selecting a tank with a rather small toad inside, Junia took a seat in the grass. "You're not really a prince, are you?" The brunette carefully removed the creature so that she could get a better look at him. She wasn't going to kiss him or anything to find out, but she was curious. She supposed he was pretty handsome as far as toads went. The toad seemed to agree, as he sat rather still in her palm, large eyes staring back up at her as if to say yes, yes I am. "Look, I'm sorry in advance for whatever we're going to turn you into. Let's just both get through this without any major setbacks. Deal?" The toad moved suddenly, making a jump for it. She was faster, though. Thank you Quidditch reflexes. "I'll take that as a no. Rude." She set the toad back into his tank and shook her head.

Leon was excited about today's lesson! Any lesson that was held out by the lake was okay with him! He was wearing comfortable clothes and now he was glad for his t-shirt..
He smiled at Professor Stewart as she arrived.. "Good afternoon Professor! How are you today?" He asked her as he picked out a green mat and then picked a toad and moved to sit down..
He wondered curiously what they would be doing.. Changing frogs into fish?

Ah. A class where he had to use his wand.. Rooney wasn't thrilled, but he knew that Professor Stewart wouldn't be angry if it got too much for him and he had to leave. He didn't know, actually. He just thought. She seemed nice enough in that sense. And he'd just come up with some excuse that needed him to go to the Hospital Wing, in all honesty. Get Healer Reed to knock him out for a few more days. That'd be cool.
Sure, the sun was out and all, but this was Scotland and it was not THAT warm. So Rooney still had on a jumper and tracksuit bottoms. Seriously, did people not realise that they would freeze to death if a breeze picked up?! Weather knowledge, guys!!
"Good afternoon, Professor." Nice to see you. Wonderful location choice. Blah blah blah. He had a gooood look at the offerings and chose a smaller toad. The underdog. Probably because no one else would pick it. And the he grabbed a mat and went to sit down.
This wasn't going to be any form of toad yoga, right? No thanks.
Matt was not happy. He was NOT up for this lesson at ALL, not because he disliked Transfiguration, but because... WHY the location? Why? WHY?
Nothing would convince him that that would be a useful lesson. What was the point of it being held near the lake if being so close to it wouldn't be a feature in the lesson? Yeah, he was sure they'd be expected to do SOMETHING in or by the lake eventually.
No. Matt was not amused. And that could clearly be seen in his somewhat pale face.
He chose to sit as far as possible from the lake as he could. "Accio mat." He said and stretched out his hand to grab the object and it zoomed towards him. He'd be all the way over here, thank you very much!
The professor did get a wave, though. Hello... FROM the other side AFAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRR.
Let your light shine || Be the sun || You're important. Always.
After taking some kids to another class, she headed to the ground for Transfiguration. It was one of her favorite classes, but Noelle was in no mode to smile.
She read the board and grabbed a mat, giving Professor Stewart her best smile (which wasn't that great to be honest), and heading to find a seat in the grass. She glanced around and had missed the part where she was supposed to grab a tank. Sighing, Noelle got back up when she should have took a page from the book of Matt and accioed the tank.
Nonetheless, she was back at her matt with a tank in less than a minute. She glanced at it curiously for a second before getting her wand out and waiting for class to begin.
Hah! A lesson outside?! This promised to be good! REALLY GOOD because, who didn’t liked it to have a lesson outside and to not being forced to sit silent in a boring classroom? “Hello professor!” She beamed happily while smiling brightly. Looking around her next she spotted the large tanks standing around them and… A LOT smaller ones next to the blackboard. Reading what was written there she nodded to herself, knowing that it would be useless to ask WHY they needed to use a toad. She suspected that she needed to practice on it but… Who knew? Taking a red colored mat and a tank with a toad she walked over to where the others were seated and sat down herself too.

Lakeside classes is just awesome ok? Well any class held outdoors is always a win for this Curly Top, and with a spring in his step he greeted the Transfirguration maven a cheerful "'Afternoon Professor Stewart!"
And then he caught sight of the toads. "Toads!" he exclaimed happily as he went near the tanks that held them. "I didnt know we be needing toads today Professor, I actually have my own-- Quark-- and he's chillin at the dorms right now. Should I use him instead?" Its the reason why he has him right? Bring an animal to Hogwarts and among the sea of cats and owls, he picked a toad.

Juno walked quickly toward the lake where Transfigurations was being held today. She was so excited to be able to wear normal clothes and go outside, without having to escort students and get back in as quickly as possible. It was a wonderful feeling.
She saw a small group of students and their professor just by the lake. As soon as she got to them she smiled and waved at the professor, "Hello Professor Stewart! Hope your having a great day!" She read the black board, grabbed a purple mat and a toad tank. When she saw Leon, she headed in his direction. Setting the tank down in the grass, she set up her purple mat next to his green one, and then sat down. She grabbed the toad tank and then took her book bag off, setting it behind her. "Hey, Lee!" She said with a smile and a nudge, trying out a new nickname for him today. She kinda liked it.

Any lesson were she didn't have to wear her school robes was one that she was likely to already going to like. Mostly because or in most of her four years here comfortable clothes one hundred percent of the time means. FUN. With it being transfiguration it was highly likely to be true.
Also afternoon lesson, she could also always enjoy those too. She headed toward the lake, and NOT a classroom.
Everyone should do a lesson outside at least once when it started getting nice outside again. It was such a beautiful day outside. Giving the professor a big grin as she joined the others. "Hello Professor. How are you today?" She happened to see the board, just before finding a spot. She needed a mat and tank. She grabbed both of those before finding a spot.
What were they going to do today?

Etta was really glad they were having an outdoor class. She made her way down to the lake, enjoying the gentle warmth of the sun on her face. Beautiful weather. She smiled at the professor and greeted her politely with a smile. "Hello, professor. Hope you're doing well." .. but her smile faded a little when she eyed the tanks. Why a toad, though? Hmm.
Selecting a tank in random, she picked it up and headed over to a spot somewhere close to Junia. "Hey." Etta smiled at her before setting the tank down and plopping down on the grass. She observed the toad for a moment or two. "It looks rather adorable, doesn't it?"

Standing up again to peer into his tank and take his toad out, Derf was completely HELPLESS to the tank flying through the air after being summon by a Gryffindor and TWACK...smacked riiiiiiiiiiight in the head and down went the Hufflepuff with an unceremonious YELP.

Nope, definitely not a prince.
A cheerful one was next to arrive and this brought an even larger smile to the professors face. "Hello, Miss Botros." She watched her a moment as the Junia got what she needed and sat down. Was she speaking to her toad? Aaww, how sweet!

Here was Prefect Bronwyn next to arrive. Knowing all that she knew about his ordeal with the portal and such Camilla was actually surprised he was here but very much pleased. "Good afternoon, Mr Bronwyn," she offered him a smile and a nod of her head. Should he be unable to handle the days lesson for any such reason all he needed to do was let her know and they would work out something later after class. The same went for anyone else really.

With the arrival of the last student Camilla glanced around the area once checking for any stragglers. Not seeing any she turned her full attention onto those sitting down before her.
"Good afternoon everyone! With the weather warming up and the sun out shinning today I thought today would be the perfect day to get outside and have some fun." Nothing was better then fresh air and sunshine while learning expect maybe having a bit of fun while doing it.
"I bet you're all rather curious about what we're doing today so I won't waste to much time with getting things moving along. Why do you all think I asked you to wear comfortable clothing and things you wouldn't mind getting dirty? What might we be doing with the toads?" This was a very open question leaving room for guesses of all types. She was simply curious as to what they thought they might be doing.

"I'm fine, thanks, Professor," Zelena answered. She didn't mind the idea of getting dirty and when Professor Stewart asked what the students thought the lesson might be she quickly raised her hand.
"Maybe we're turning toads into tadpoles," Zelena replied thinking that it sounded silly but she really didn't care.
James certainly did not want to get dirty. Couldn't they just stick to the comfortable classroom...where he didn't have to deal with mud puddles and wet grass on the ground? The sun was too bright, it made him involuntarily squint his eyes a lot. He didn't like it. James couldn't help but gave a small exasperated sigh before quietly moved himself under the shade of a tree. Yes...finally he could see much better now. Eh, toads? Interesting. What were they going to do with them? He shrugged. He had no idea. It wasn't like they expecting a prince or a princess suddenly appearing in front of their eyes once they kissed the ugly toads, right? Ridiculous.
not throwing away my shot | Slytherpuff | roll for initiative | woof you ❤
Olly didn't mind getting dirty. Clothes were washable. He wasn't even sitting on a mat because he liked the way the grass felt on his skin. He wanted to lay down, but that probably wouldn't be acceptably. Instead he sat quietly, running his hands over the grass and looking down at his caged toad. They were probably going to be transfiguring the toads, considering this was a transfiguration class. After a moment Olly decided to name his toad Alfred. He wasn't sure exactly why, but it felt like a fitting name.
Why were they going to get dirty? What were they going to do with the toads? Olly had absolutely no idea. Why were they supposed to guess what they were doing in class before they actually did it? He heard someone suggest they might be turning the toads into tadpoles, but that didn't seem like something that would get them dirty. "Are we transfiguring ourselves into toads?" Probably not because that sounded very very hard, but it was sort of an amusing thought.
Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something...
Natalia had come in quietly before class had started, gotten her things, and sat quietly now. She looked at the toad and back up to the professor. What would they be doing with the toad? Well if it was turning them into princes she could have it back. Natalia already had her prince charming. He had been proving that through this difficult time.
She chewed her lip as the other's spoke not really sure what to say for an answer. Her brain wasn't working as sharply as she would have liked, but she was blaming the NEWTs on top of everything else.
Finally raising her hand she quietly spoke, "Could we be transfiguring it into furniture?"
curly haired prefect - "sometimes I get angry!" - 30/90 - *chicken emoji* - probably @ Disney - I speak dog
What could they be doing with the toads? Kane had no idea. He always felt bad when he had to transfigure animals - did it hurt? He imagined it HAD to, right? Poor toads.
They were going to be getting dirty, but what did that have to do with toads? The only thing he could think of that was dirty that you could do on a nice, spring day was gardening...
He raised his hand. "Um, transfiguring the toads into gardening tools?" he suggested. That sounded even stupider when he said it aloud...

Henry could certainly appreciate an outdoor class, especially for one that was normally held inside. Outside was pretty much his favorite place to be and he was starting to feel really cooped up in the common room, having being there more than usual anymore. And he stretched out on his mat a bit, leaning back as he glanced up at the professor when she started class.
Oh... no offense, professor, but he didn't really want to play a guessing game. Not when there was really nothing to go on. Obviously, they'd be transfiguring their toads into something as this was Transfiguration class, but it could be literally anything. There weren't any clues that he saw, so he didn't want to just make a random guess. Instead, he occupied himself by peering into the tank he had chosen at the pudgy little toad inside, wondering just what a transfiguration experience was like for animals.

Leon smiled warmly as he spotted his girlfriend coming towards him and he chuckled softly as he heard her nickname for him.. "Hey Jun Bug.. " He replied with a nickname of his own, grinning at her as he nudged her back.. He liked Lee! That was a fun one..
He turned his attention to the Professor as she started class and started to ask questions.. hmm why has she asked them to wear comfortable clothes that they could get dirty.. It was obvious they were transforming the toads into something..
But what?
He listened to the responses.. furniture? Really? He shook his head and thought for a moment before raising his hand. "Because whatever we are doing requires us to have full range of movement and since we are near the lake.. we could be getting muddy.." That was all his brain had for the moment..

Harriet didn't mind getting muddy or dirty. She did not mind at all. She was an artist and to be honest she spent most of her time being dirty. So she really wasn't fazed about being or getting dirty in this lesson. To be honest it actually made her pretty excited about whatever they were going to do in the lesson. She actually really didn't have a clue what they would be doing. But she could try and give a good guess anyway. The blonde thought for a few minutes before she raised her hand into the air. "Could we be doing something near the water? So we might get wet?" Which would mean they could get dirty.

Oops. "MY BAD!" He shouted to the small Hufflepuff boy who had basically faceplanted the ground thanks to Matt's flying tank.
He had both hands up to soften the arrival of the object and he decided to keep standing for that lesson. Further away from everything and everyone. Thing was, he could hardly hear the professor now. "WHAAAT?" He yelled all the way from where he was, more for the sake of being loud, noisy and possibly obnoxious than because he wanted to hear the lesson.
He didn't care THAT much about lessons, really. Especially if they revolved around the lake.

Carlton felt very comfortable the lesson was being held outside. He felt more free, it was just easier to breathe outside than in the castle these days. He also loved animals. But transfiguring them into objects? He looked down the tank and watched the toad sit there, staring up at him. Soulful eyes. Could it be...?
"Professor... He looks like our neighbour Bertie." Something about the eyes, ya know? "Is it him? I mean- Are they people? Are we turning them back into people?" In all honesty, he liked Bertie better as a toad than a human but he didn't voice this out loud just in case it really WAS him.
