At exactly ten minutes to two on a mid December afternoon the door to the Transfiguration classroom was opened for today's lesson. As you walk into the classroom you'll notice nothing out of the ordinary, the desks and chairs lined up in neat rows. The classroom is warm and comfortable which is completely different then the view of the snow falling outside which you can see from the windows.
Professor Stewart is leaning against the front of her desk, hands resting on the desk, warm welcoming smile on her face. She's ready to greet everyone, so come in, have a seat and mingle quietly among yourselves until the lesson begins.
Oh yeah, don't forget your snack before you take a seat! Today's treat is snowflake shaped sugar cookies with white frosting and little blue sprinkles that look like ice crystals! There's also hot cocoa and tea. As always plates and napkins are present on the table and a small garbage can is there as well.
OOC:Hello everyone! Welcome to the first OOC lesson of the term and my very first lesson ever! Please remember the rules as always. The lesson will begin in about 24 hours! The lesson has started! You're still welcome to jump on in by simply pretending you have been here the whole time!
Stepping into the classroom she suddenly smiled widely because… FOOD! There was food for her to eat! Looking past the food to greet the professor she walked quickly toward the adult and greeted her, still smiling brightly. “Hello professor!” Looking past the professor toward the food again she tried to force herself to NOT look like a starving animal because if her mum would know about it then she would be in big trouble!

Transfiguration was a favorite subject of Cassie's, so she may have given herself plenty of time to get up to the sixth floor for the latest lesson. Though she was trying her best not to seem anxious and bouncing at the thought on the possibilities of the topic of the day. Not that it really mattered what it was to be since it would be cool regardless. Well most everything it could possibly be would be cool in her opinion.
When she reached the classroom to find only one student there already beside the professor, it seemed like she had definitely made it there early. "Good afternoon, Professor Stewart," she greeted the woman with a smile. The Ravenclaw settling herself into a random desk and getting her belongings out while she waited to be ready for everything to begin.

Olivia was here... and none too excited about the impending failures awaiting her this hour. Yes, because those were most definitely coming. It was just Transfiguration. The First and Second Year spells were getting easier to accomplish, but... Well, suffice it to say that nothing else was.
Merlin, let this lesson be focused around something easy. Aaaaah-men.
Also, no snacks for Olivia today. Healer Reed had her on a specific meal plan (because he'd contacted her parents, of all blasted people, after the incident at the seminar). Anyway, Liv would be in trouble if she wasn't able to eat when the time came. Annoying. It was so annoying.
Grabbing a seat (and offering no greetings), the blonde Gryffindor put her head down. Just waiting for the lesson to officially begin.

AW YEAH TRANSFIGURATION. One of Rooney's strongest subjects, although he didn't think that himself. Statistically, it was one that he performed consistently well in. Personally, he just enjoyed others a little bit more and it wasn't a subject he was going to take with him to university at all. "Goooooooood morning, Professor!!" As he bounded into the classroom, he considered the offerings and food and drink and only went with a cup of tea. He was going to check when Liv was next venturing for eating time and go with her, so snacking during class would OBviously ruin that. But he did take two, nod his head towards Liv, wrap them in a napkin and shove them in his bag.

Transfiguration was usually interesting, even if she HAD had three different professors in all three of terms here. Skylar did have to wonder if the position was cursed, but she guessed only time would tell that one. Nodding respectfully to Professor Stewart Numero Two, Sky found a seat near the window.
Yes she noticed the cookies and hot cocoa and tea and no, she was definitely not taking refreshments from this Professor Stewart. The woman seemed sweet and kind, but if the Transfiguration Professor position was cursed, then that gave adequate reason to not trust them. That and her general distrust from food provided in lessons. However she would be polite, until proven not to be.

Leon always loved Transfiguration, besides DADA it was his favorite class and he was liking this new teacher so far. He couldn't wait to see what she had in store for them today.
He entered the classroom and gave Professor Stewart a warm smile. "Hello Professor Stewart, thanks for the cookies. " He said as he snagged one and then headed to his seat on the left side of the room..
His eyes scanned his fellow classmates to see if a certain, blonde haired blue eyed prefect was there, but she wasn't and his face fell just slightly..
Well this class was always interesting. He heard there was a new Professor teaching this subject. He might as well give her a chance. As he entered the room, he noticed she was sitting in the front of the class. He nodded towards her and said, "Professor..." He eyed the cookies and thought about taking one. He might as well, I mean he gave her props with presentation with the snowflakes. He grabbed one and held one up and nodded towards her. "Excellent choice.." he munched on it and where was his manners? "Fankss.." he said mid cookies. He went to find his seat and he noticed the hot cocoa machine. He got up yet again after putting his belongings down and went to make his cocoa. He couldn't resist. This head boy added some milk to cool it down and went back to his seat.
He began to sip and dipped his cookie into it. Aaahh this was nice. Fun way to celebrate the winter holidays that is for sure.

If anything, classes were distracting Elle from the frustration of dealing with her sister being ridiculous again. She wasn’t going home, but Avalon was still trying to control her. It made her feel like she was eleven again, and she preferred not feeling like that. Therefore, lessons were looked forward to at the moment. Plus, she remembered the caroling, which had only made her like Professor Stewart more. This Professor Stewart, although she liked the Muggle Studies professor too. Either way, she’d had a smile on her face as she’d entered the Transfiguration classroom.
Even more when she saw the refreshments, and she’d helped herself to a cup of cocoa and a cookie before nodding slightly toward the professor. “Good afternoon Professor Stewart. Thank you for the treats,’ she said, before taking a napkin for her cookie and heading for an open seat.

The first thing the Hufflepuff did NOT do was pick up a cookie or drink - as tempting as it was. Dora and warned him and even Alexa had confirmed things in her owl back to him and he was NOT trusting the food at Hogwarts ANYMORE. Save for things at proper meals and what he saw prepared during his frequent trips to the kitchens. He was also...suspicious. TOO many professors were offering tasty food and drinks in their lessons and surely there must be some reason behind it. The theory he was running with at the moment was banshee or hag involvement and this was all just an attempt at plumping them all up for a stew. He KNEW Hogwarts had a bit of a history with hags - had even hired one as a professor for Merlin's sake! - so really...his theory was entirely possible.
Offering the professor nothing more than a polite wave and accompanying smile - BECAUSE HE WAS ON TO YOU, LADY! - the first year slid into his seat and set his enchanted suitcase on top to begin taking out his supplies for class.

Hi ho, hi ho, off to Transfiguration we go. It wasn't one of Olly's favorite classes, but it could be fun sometimes. He liked it well enough. But it could be hard and it was one of the classes he needed to really study more for OWLs. Actually going to class was much more fun than just studying, though, and Olly entered the classroom in a good mood.
"Good afternoon professor," he said with a smile. His mood got even better when he noticed the treats in the back of the classroom. Olly grabbed one of the cookies and munched on it as he found a seat. He wasn't really thirsty at the moment, but he could get a drink later if he needed one. That was one of the reasons he chose a seat relatively close to the snack table. Another reason was so he would have easy access to seconds.

Janelle arrived for Transfiguration class, ready to work. She had gotten her mind in order before she reached the door. Transfiguration was one of those classes that she had to prepare for in advance........mentally. It required a lot of concentration and Janelle felt she needed a head start today.
As Janelle entered the classroom, she said, "Hello Professor Stewart". Then spotting the snacks that were laid out, she made a beeline for the cookie table. After picking up two snowflake cookies, Janelle got a cup of tea. Then she found an empty seat and sat down. The seventh year quickly arranged her materials for class and then took a moment to enjoy her snacks.

Etta hurried to class, glancing down at her watch every now and then. Almost there..... she pretty much ran the rest of the way aaaaaand into the classroom. "I'M -----" She abruptly stopped. They hadn't started class after all. OH. Trying to look as dignified as possible, although her face was flushed PINK, she slowly walked towards an empty seat.
"Hello, professor." She said, plopping down on a seat. Phew, that was exhausting. And... a little embarrassing, to say the least. She pulled out her parchment and quill, dropped her bag to the floor and started to doodle until class began.
Transfiguration was one of Henry's favorite classes, mostly because of cool and useful spells he could learn. But to be fair, he liked any class that he could practice wand work. He just liked casting spells. It was just weird that there was pretty much a new professor for this class every year. It made it hard to really get comfortable with any one teaching style or feel any sort of attachment to any of them, so it made him feel a little disconnected even if he would have difficulty identifying that himself.
Henry was not known for passing up cookies and he happily picked one up for himself before looking up at the professor with a grin. "Afternoon, Professor!" he greeted her cheerfully and picked up a cup of cocoa as well. "Thanks for the snack!" Turning to find a place to sit, he slipped into a seat in the center of the room.

He really needs to get his schedule sorted out. Or get a PA. Do Fourth years get a PA like CEO's do? Because once again he was going by the Professor's name on his schedule and found himself on the First floor, where the Muggle Studies classroom was located, then blundered into a class that was already halfway through its session. Suffice it to say that Professor Stewart was as startled to see him as he was with a room full of his not-classmates.
But finally he's here. Right class, right Professor Stewart this time. "Goodafternoon Professor Stewart!" And hey food! Much appreciated having done the run around before now. So with a hot cocoa and a handful of sugar cookies (like literally as much sugar cookies stacked up that he can hold) he makes for an empty seat not far from his friends.

Carlton wasn't early for this class, which was a bit unlike him. Usually he showed up ten minutes before class started (so he could check out if there was any treats available) but today he was running a bit late. He spotted the open door and ran towards it, letting out a relieved sigh when that he'd made it in time.
"Hi professor Stewart!" Carlton smiled, slightly out of breath. He quickly took care of the most important thing which was getting himself a cookie and hot cocoa. Yum. Then he sat down at one of the empty seats. He gave a few accusing looks to the people in the front. He wanted to be there. No, needed to be in the front for this class. Transfiguration? Not his best subject. Fun! But not the best one. Placing his quill, notebook and textbook on the desk, he was ready.
The amount of sugar being offered by the professor seemed excessive; not to himself, of course, but he was sure it would be to his mother. The word excessive in his head sounded actually just like his mother would say it, all derision and shock and don't do it, Levi. Levi looked at the teacher speculatively and wondered if she really was prepared for the first years that would doubtlessly begin bouncing around the walls after they'd gorged themselves with sweets.
Levi, of course, generously helped himself with hot coco. It was not quite like his nana made it, but--it was good enough to warm his senses and give a slightly dreamy look to both his eyes and smile. He lifted his now empty cup of hot coco in the air at the professor and nodded a little as if toasting in, what? Who cared? Happiness? Happiness! "Thanks. And hello, Professor Stewart."

Camilla was just taking another look over the classroom to make sure everything was in order as the first student to arrive entered the room. The bright smile of this young one was met with an exactly warm smile. "Hello, Ms Griffel, you're welcome to take a snack before sitting down if you like." Her students were always welcome to take something to eat or drink, that's why it was there after all.

She had just began to wonder where this smiling first year was when he entered the room. It was her little cheerful caroler. For a moment she was tempted to ask him about the lack of bells attached to his robs but she didn't. She did give him a warm smile. "Hello there, Mr Lewis."

The following student only went for the cocoa and she couldn't blame him. With the winter upon them and snow falling outside it was a good choice. Why was he lifting his cup at her though? Cami smiled and nodded when she realized why. "You're welcome Mr Kenning."
Cami waited another minute or so before flicking her wand at the door casting a nonverbal spell which shut the door with a soft click. Any one else to arrive now would be able to enter but they would be considered late.
"Hello again, I hope you're all having a nice afternoon," she smiled warmly clapping her hands once to signal the beginning of the lesson. Sitting on the edge of her desk she looked out at the smiling face and the one of two that looked a bit sleepy. "With the holiday break fast approaching us I thought that we would have a more easier lesson today." What did they all think of that? Nothing to difficult would happen today or so she hoped. Either way she expected everyone's full attention.
"I would like for you all to take a look around and tell me what you see. What do you like see in the winter time that you wouldn't really see in the other seasons? What are some things you enjoy doing in the winter?" No answer would be wrong with questions like these.
OOC: The lesson has official begun so please keep in mind if a student enters the room now they will be late and a loss of house points might happen! Everyone is still welcome to join in just as as if your student has been here the entire time!

So they were talking about winter? Well that was interesting and definitely made Skylar wonder what they would be doing today; the Professor had said an easier lesson, so perhaps it would be an active one too in that they would maybe transfigure the classroom into an ice skating rink? Least that was the third year's first thought when it came to winter.
"Ice skating." Skylar said simply. Because that was her answer for things she liked to see in the winter time, but also for something she enjoyed doing. Hot cocoa too, but she didn't want to give any illusion that she might be partaking in drinking such a beverage from the professor, so no food or drink choices would be mentioned by her.

Olivia took a sit of her hot cocoa as she listened to the Professor begin the lecture. Look around and tell you what you see. Well... Snow. Lots of snow. Ice skating was something she enjoyed in winter. Skiing was fun. There was so much to do in winter. Stay warm with a nice cup of cocoa or tea by the fireplace. Yes, that sounded nice. Building snowmen and having a snowball fight. Where they going to have a snowball fight? "Snowball fights are always a good time!" beamed Olivia.

Noelle was EARLY. It was Transfiguration and Professor Stewart was quickly becoming one of her favorite professors.
Heading into the classroom, she smiled at Professor Stewart. "Good afternoon Professor. She said brightly before spotting Olly and going over to sit by him. She stole one of his goodies and grinned as she ate it quickly.
Today was going to be a good day!
The lesson had started. Noelle was a summer fan but one thing she loved about winter was, "Snow!" You couldn't have snow in the summer or spring.

They were talking about winter things. Hmmm. Natalie liked the winter, but her favorite season was summer. It was finally warm enough in the summer to play on the beach and go swimming. Sigh. Now she wanted to go swimming.
She raised her small hand on her short little arm and waved it around. "I like to go sledding, professor," she said with a beam. "My brother and I race to see who's the fastest." And obviously it was HER.
Okay, Katherine had to admit that the cookies were tasty, even though she didn't really like sweets that much. As she enjoyed it, the class slowly filled and they started the lesson. It began with a question as always, and as always she let others answer first. Snow and ice-skating were easy answers... she wanted to give a unique answer. She thought hard about it... and came up with a pretty lame answer, but it wasn't snow-themed at least. So she raised her hand.
"Animals hibernate." They usually started in autumn, sure, but the sleep continued throughout the winter. "I like waking up to the whole soil covered in snow." She would usually pour herself a hot beverage then, and watch people play in it.

Carlton's feet didn't quite reach the ground and he dangled his legs from the chair as he clutched the hot cocoa. An easier lesson in transfiguration sounded like a great idea to him. Speaking about winter and possibly christmas sounded like an ever better idea!
His hand waved in the air. Professorprofessorprofessorprofessor! "Christmas decorations!" Winter was nothing without proper christmas decorations! Like his green christmas outfit. And what were things he enjoyed in the winter? He beamed and carefully, with both of his hands, raised his cup of hot cocoa in the air. "I enjoy THIS, professor." Sip, sip, sip.
Levi's favourite winter past time was staying warm and avoiding chapped lips. Snow was pretty only in pictures; the rest of the time it got everywhere and often made him slip and fall on his rear.
