She hadn’t meant to startle Nat, nor had she really thought that she hadn’t been noticed beforehand. Although, Elle had in fact known that Nat wasn’t entirely focused on things lately. In fact she’d done her part to try to help her with everything she was dealing with, which only made her that much more apologetic that she’d startled her. “I didn’t mean to startle you,” she admitted, kneeling to help gather up the brunette’s things that had fallen from her bag.

If anything, she didn’t think either of them wanted to leave anything behind for the monster to get. For all she knew, it was the type of creature that could follow scents and that made it even more important not to leave anything behind. Not that she particularly cared to know anything about the portal or any monsters that were previously hidden inside.

She’d nodded in response to the question. Yes, the headmistress had said that there was a monster on the loose. A dangerous creature, anyway, which she chose to read as a monster. “I agree.” Not to mention the healer’s office was a lot closer than the common room was. The idea of being trapped in the dungeons didn’t seem very pleasant, given the amount of things they didn’t know about the situation. Plus, if anything, being in Healer Reed’s office might mean access to more information. Both regarding what was going on and any healing stuff she might be able to look at while they were stuck.

Up another floor it went, this time being more daring my making its way attached to the wall instead of the ceiling. The figures in the portraits disappeared at the sight of it, which the monster paid no attention to. The scents everywhere were driving it mad. It wouldn't be able to preview its buffet for much longer.

It paused for a moment at the sight of two girls, who were further down along the corridor. The monster analyzed them, determining if this was the time to make a move or not. It decided against it. They were much bigger than some of the others. Not as big as the man it had just seen the floor below, but they were big enough to make it move away nonchalantly.

Perhaps the girls would have caught sight of it as it crept away...

Harriet really did not get why people would want to go fight the monster. It was a monster. It would eat people, and that would not be good at all. They did not need to get eaten. She had her life to eat, and she would not be able to do that if a monster ate her. So she was very content at going on and hiding in her common room. She would just pretend that the monster couldn't get in the common room. Though it didn't really know the password so surely it wouldn't be able to get in.

"Of course I have. What kind of witch doesn't have her wand on her?" The blonde murmured as they walked down the stairs. A silly witch wouldn't carry her wand. And Hattie was not a silly girl. So she pulled her wand out, as they got to the bottom of the stairs, and headed out onto the third floor.

And then Hattie stopped dead.

"Uh.... Daisy...we have a problem." Because she was pretty sure that was the monster that she could see creeping around.

Harriet did have a point there and Daisy nodded at her words. A witch should always carry her wand with her but sometimes Daisy didn't. Did she really need to take her wand to the library for a study session? Well, yes, actually, if you were at Hogwarts. How the school was still open was a fact that was beyond Daisy's comprehension.

Something in the air seemed to have shifted then, but Daisy paid it no attention, decided to get Hattie and herself to their respective common rooms as soon as possible.

Until Hattie stopped.

And Daisy didn't need telling anything else. If that wasn't a monster -- well, it certainly looked like it. HAH, and to think the others were looking for it in the seventh floor!

Also, Daisy was definitely about to get eaten if she didn't do something.

But she was a witch! A very not so capable capable witch who was NOT about to get eaten because she had much more important things to do. So, seconds after Hattie's words, Daisy was twirling her wand around Hattie. Thanks Professor Marchand! "Disillusiona." She whispered, putting all her concentration into the disillusionment charm and quickly she performed it on herself aswell, wand twirling around her. Thank Merlin that she was good with charms, at least.

Hopefully the monster wouldn't be able to see them??? It still could probably smell them but this was the best Daisy could do without setting some dungbombs off. "Be as quiet as you can." She whispered to the younger girl, not even sure if she would be able to hear the words since she was talking so softly. "And cast a shield."

Even if Hattie hadn't heard that, she probably would be able to understand what Daisy wanted her to do as soon as the Slytherin cast her own shield. "Protego." Just incase, you know? This thing might be able to throw fireballs at them or something. NOPE, not thinking about that. Once more, Daisy tugged on Hattie's hand. They needed to get far, far away from here and this monster as SOON AS. Thank you very much. She could see a couple of students at the end of the corridor. They just needed to get to them and they would be fine.

Right?

"No, no it was my fault. I'm just not paying attention. I need to start getting it together. It's been a month." A month. Had it really been that long already? Her eyes welled up thinking about it and she tried to push it from her mind. She stood and started down the corridor with Elle. "How is studying going for you?" Since they were just walking they mid as well talk a bit.

Her eyes moving around though since the headmistress spoke so she caught the girls coming up, "You two are going..."

She saw Daisy disappear and she put her wand up incase the thing tried to attack. "Elle can you do a patronous?" Again she felt like a failure since she couldn't. "Get a professor up here." She moved the way it was going for a moment to see if it had fully gone then she looked to the way the girls were or should be?

"You two stay close, but stay hidden. I don't want you going to the common rooms alone. Elle and I will walk you."

From the moment Healer Reed told her he would handle the young Prefect she had been on the move. First she had made her way to the seventh floor and then down each floor after that. So far all she had come across was children which she had directed into their common rooms.

Gripping her wand firmly, her steps steady Cami kept her emotions in check as best she could. Hearing voices from up ahead the professor quickened her pace. Was that the Head Girl? Yes, yes it was. There was others with her as well. "Please tell me you girls are not hunting this thing and you're heading for a safe place to stay?" The answer had better be yes. She had seen this thing, saw the injury a prefect had sustained and how fast that monster could move. These ladies needed to be safe.

"Is everyone here safe? No one's hurt?"

”But it’s understandable that you’re still grieving,” Elle argued gently, still understanding what Nat was going through. A bit of distraction was allowed. She still occasionally got down, even though it had been years since her parents had died. Granted, that wasn’t exactly the same thing, but she still understood.

“Studying is going about as well as it could be,” she’d continued. Considering there was the concern over the portal business and the monster…Which was definitely foremost in her mind even before they had seen Daisy and Hattie. Before Nat had started speaking to the younger girls and she saw Daisy Disillusioning the Hufflepuff girl. Before she had caught sight of something slinking away out of the corner of her eye.

She had nodded silently in response to the Head Girl’s request, her wand already out as she’d moved closer to where the two younger girls had disappeared. Although, apparently the Patronus wasn’t needed as the Transfiguration professor had appeared. “Yes. We’re safe, and no, we weren’t thin king about hunting it,” she answered Professor Stewart. “Actually, Nat and I were heading to try and shelter in Healer Reed’s office?”

It was closer than heading four floors down to the Slytherin common room, after all. Especially now that they didn’t know where the monster had disappeared to.

Hattie was pretty much freaking out about the monster. She didn't want to get eaten! She wanted to do nice things, not get eaten. But it was creeping away, so that meant it was going away. Though would it come back when it smelt them. Because that was not good. Hattie was just glad that Daisy was here. She'd be freaking out even more if she was on her own.

Oh. They were invisible now. Well done. That worked. But now nobody else could see them either. Oh there was a teacher now too! "Hi professor!" The blonde murmured, before realising that Daisy has made them invisible. So like. They were just a voice. Opps.

"Uh.... Daisy made us invisible" She tried to explain. She didn't want to end the charm, because then the monster might come back and see them. "And uh... I think I actually saw the monster.... creeping off that way...." But actually. The professor couldn't see her arm that was pointing. So it was kinda useless really.

HERE CAME THE CAVALRY!!

Daisy had never been so relieved to see people before. Not only people, but people whose magical abilities were far superior to hers. When Professor Stewart arrived she was basically willing to hug the Professor and never let go. It would be pretty weird, what with her being invisible and everything, so she refrained. Just about. Surely they were safe now, right?

Head Girl Nat was here and everything!

"We were heading to the Common Room." Natalia had offered to escort them just now, despite Elle saying they were talking about Healer Reed's office. Daisy was fine with either one, as long as she didn't end up getting eaten by a hungry, SUPER creepy monster. The fact that it could possibly get into the common room was simply playing on her mind. She looked between the older girls before settling her eyes on the Professor, despite the fact that no one could see her. And no, she wasn't ending the spell, thank you very much. "There was a group of students that went up to hunt for it, though." LOOK, she didn't want to report the other students to the Professors but they were potentially running into danger. That was bigger than anything right now.

Why had no one told her that the monster could climb walls, anyway???

Actually, why hadn't they told them anything at all?

Could they get a move on, now?

Camilla took in the sight of both Nat and Elle glad to see they weren't younger years just running about trying to be brave. She let out a slow breath upon hearing the confirmation that they were indeed trying to get to somewhere safe and not monster hunting. This was good, very good.

She was about to open her month to tell the young ladies she would walk with them to ensure they arrived safely when a younger voice came out of nowhere. Or so it seemed. Cami was startled by it for just the briefest of moments before she actually smiled softly. The young girl was invisible and so was Daisy. "That...is a wonderful idea. Do keep in mind though girls that while you can not be seen you can be heard. Invisibility has it's perks but also it's downfalls." Now wasn't the time for this discussion though. Now when one of the girls just said she saw the monster!

"Healer Reed was up on the sixth floor attending to a student. However he assured me he was returning straight to the hospital wing. Let's all head that way, quickly, and quietly. Please keep your eyes and ears open as well as your wand in your hand." This was all said in a quick hushed whisper just loud enough for the four girls to hear her.

There was no sense in just standing around and waiting! Camilla had started walking ushering the girls along. They were free to ask her anything they liked as she lead them down the corridor.

Nat had set her eyes on another figure coming down the corridor. How many students were just wondering around with a monster lose? She looked around as the professor came closer. "Elle is right ma'am. I was actually on my way there when I met up with Elle and the announcement came. We were going to head there when the younger girls showed up so we were going to take them to their common rooms, but Healer Reed's office is much closer and safer." Plus Nat had no intentions of going to the common room if she could avoid it.


Nat tried to look in the way Daisy most likely was. Were students actually hunting the monster? Why did she think Skylar was one of them? "Once we get them to the healer's office would you like me to help you try to retrieve the other students?" She didn't want to have anything to do with it truthfully. The stupid monster and portal had landed her in detention and her help wasn't appreciated by most, but she still was the Head Girl at some point at least so she still felt obligated to offer.

"The monster headed that way." She had seen the tail end of it leaving. She was glad to see the back end of it and not the front. Starting down the corridor again once the professor said about heading to Healer Reed's office. "Make sure you are staying super close to us." She was talking to Daisy and Hattie, since she couldn't see them she couldn't tell if they were or not.

It was an arduous journey from the sixth-floor corridor to the third-floor corridor. While River assisted the injured Gryffindor in one arm, the other hand bore his wand ready to cast a defensive spell in case the Monster decided to show its face to them. Actually, it did show itself, but the creature was distracted with something else. River was able to take a glimpse of the said abomination before it disappeared as it turned a corner. The Healer man was quick to hide himself and Tenacius in a recessed wall, and allowed a few moments to pass before continuing their way to the Hospital Wing. If he was still the hot-blooded teenager, he would've gone to help the others in capturing the portal dweller. However, his top priority at the moment was to get Tenacius safe in his turf.

...as well as the others before them.

River quickened his pace at the sight of the group heading for his office, almost dragging Tenacius with him. "Dear Merlin, I hope you're the only casualty in this madness Prefect Salander." he said shifting most of Ace's weight onto him, almost carrying the boy with one arm. "Everyone, inside! Now!" River's voice boomed as he addressed the others to run towards the Hospital Wing. With the swish and flick of his wand, the protective barrier melted away, and magically pushed the doors open. There really was no time to escort these students back to their dormitories.

He figured Healer Reed was pretty strong-- just look at them shoulders. Talk about inspiration bod. But he wasnt expecting that the Healer was strong enough to practically carry him around.

And they were sneaking around in a corner with the Healer being all worried and such and-- THE MONSTER WAS HERE ISNT IT???

While Reed was barking orders of safety Tenacius was looking EVERYWHERE for the Monster. He wanted a rematch, bleeding head be damned. "I'm no casualty Sir, that monster aint seen nuthin yet!" He would show him uhuh.

.... But after they fix his head. Because its starting to sting.

Camilla Stewart continued to usher the girls forward as she listened to Natalia. So far all the girls stories worked together and they were doing as told. Her heart and mind were happy that no one here was being defiant at all. "Yes, Healer Reeds office is much closer. Everyone will be safe there." Safety was key for everyone at this very second.

"Being as you're not only a seventh year and Head Girl you may come along with me but that isn't necessary." Right now she didn't want anyone out and about for any reason. If Natalia wanted to go with her that was alright but she wouldn't make the girl.
"Girls stay behind Natalia and Elle, I'll keep up the slack back here." That way should anything happen the younger ones were alright.

It was right about then that the brunette heard footsteps rushing up behind them and looked over her shoulder to see River carrying Prefect Salander. His shouts directed at her and the group of girls was all she needed... "You heard Healer Reed, ladies, into the hospital wing! Quickly quickly!," she urged them all forward. Cami kept her pace quick but sure-footed as she rushed everyone into the hospital wing.

If Professor Stewart continued like this soon she would be Daisy's favourite. Honestly, no one had ever called her ideas amazing. If this wasn't such a high risk situation, the fifth year would be preening right now. As it were, though, she was carefully listening to Natalia and the Professor. Okay. Hospital Wing it was. She had lost her grip on Hattie's hand but tried to find it anyway, to pull the girl along as she got closer to the Head Girl and Elle.

Still invisible, though. She could end the spell once they were safely in the Hospital Wing.

Which clearly was going to be a lot sooner, now.

... had Healer Reed carried Tenacius all the way from the sixth floor?? That was a long way. Plenty of stairs and Tenacius didn't seem like he could stand on his own right now. Uh. Hormones were a funny thing, weren't they? Apparently, not even the existence of a monster made out of nightmares would deter them. Thank Merlin for the disillusionment charm, because that staring was not subtle. Oh ... was that?

YES!

Her wandering hand had finally found Hattie's and the Slytherin looked over at where the imagined the Hufflepuff to be. There was a MONSTER on the loose, why had she been staring at Healer Reed's shoulders??? "C'mon, Hattie, let's go." She whispered to the girl before pulling her towards the Hospital Wing, running towards the open doors.

SAFETY! YES!

She would go if needed, but honestly she was fine staying in the hospital wing with the other girls. She watched or at least tried to watch the younger ones to make sure they stayed close. She gave Elle a nod of I'm good if you are to start walking, but that didn't go to far when they heard footsteps. Nat turned quickly to see who was making them and breathed easier seeing the man she was headed to see in the first place.


"Ace you alright?"


She looked concerning at her friend. They had grown close this term and she always seemed to be around to watch him get hurt. Why was that? Turning on her heels she headed with the rest of them to the hospital wing.
