| | The Tea Room
A room that has been used over the Hogwarts years for different divinatory purposes has been opened up again for the use of both students and faculty alike. It's located to the right of the drop down ladder to the Divination classroom. The tea room is a small tower room about the size of a professor's office, but without all the furniture. The room is decorated with a handful of small circular tables and chairs in the center with different colours tea sets set up for either practice or a pleasurable afternoon tea time with friends. The floor is covered in a comfy red rug and lighting is provided by a big chandelier hanging from the ceiling and small firefly lamps on the tables. A few cupboards in student height line the back wall filled with divination equipment from tarot decks, dream diaries, scrying objects, lithomancy stones and the occassional crystall ball that anyone is free to use. OOC: All School and SS rules apply! Professor Vance or someone else will most likely catch you if you use this room inappropriatley or for snogging, so be warned. But most of all have FUN! |

Cleaning, Pips was cleaning. He popped in the tea room to beginning his cleaning. The things in the room were pretty and Pips needed to be extra careful with them. Just as he was about to take the tea cups out of the cabinet a cat had wondered in and spooked him.
BANG
CLANG
CRASH
Looking around Pips's ears went down as he saw all the broken tea cups. "Oh Pips was bad. Pips was very bad." Hiccup

| Ability is nothing without Opportunity | | Creativity is Intelligence having FUN Whoahhhh.... was there a cat up there? Or wait... this is Hogwarts, its more likely that it could be a poltergeist. Or three.
Tenacius zoomed in on his cruiser, luckily as he was in the area doing his patrols. Ok so it was a cat, as he had just caught it scurrying away. Oh and a House Elf was already here? "Wow you're quick." the Curly Top grinned at Pips "What do you mean bad? You got here even before the cat left. You got 'em fur handed."
Har har. He always jokes with his House Elves. Get used to it. |

There was now students coming in? Oh no, no, no Pips was a bad elf. He should have not broke the tea cups. "Master Pips is sorry. Pips will clean it up." He started to clean up the broken tea cups, but when master started talking Pips looked with sad eyes.
Hiccup... hiccup "Pips is bad master, Pips broke the tea cups. " Pips had to punish himself now so he turned and started smacking his head on the table.

| Ability is nothing without Opportunity | | Creativity is Intelligence having FUN Blue-green eyes grew large as soon as Pips went literally head-banging on the table. Its been a while that the Gryffindor Ace has witnessed a house-elf inflict self harm. That simply didnt happen with employed elves which was most of what his family has at the hotel. And the other loyal house elves at the Salander household? Never had to test for tensile strength with their head. "Heyyy Pips, you dont have to do that...." he replied hastily as he tried to prevent the house-elf from hitting his head over and over. "So it got broken so what? You can repair them right? Like snap?" he grinned as he snapped his fingers together. House elf magic was just so much easier. |

| *HICCUP!* "Pips is a bad house elf, pips didn't mean to break the tea cups." He smacked his head against the counter until he heard the student and looked.
Hiccup.. Hiccup "Yes, Pips can do that."
He snapped his fingers and the cups fixed themselves.

| for Eva/Professor Vance Teapot Occamy| gryphons&giraffes&goats,OH MY | chaser of the truth | flutiful❧ Although she did not consider herself to be very good at divination, Isa Wright was curious about what sort of insights into life and glimpses of the future that divination might bring. One of the things that intrigued Isa most about the study of divination was that she could not understand how anything could accurately predict the future. She could accept that divination worked, why it did was a complete mystery to Isa. Surely there must be some reason for why tea leaves and stones could tell the future. Crystal balls, scrying, tasseomancy, and dream interpretations were of particular interest to Isa at the moment. Despite her lack of confidence in her divinatory abilities, she really did find the subject fascinating. Isa was poking around in one of the cupboards in Professor Vance's tea room looking for scrying materials. Were those notebooks for keeping dream diaries? Was she allowed to take one? Isa didn't want to take anything that she wasn't supposed to, and she made a mental note to ask Professor Vance if she could have one. Now, back to looking for something to do scrying with. Maybe she needed to look in one of the other cupboards?

Professor Vances routine after finishing her lessons for the day was to start planning for the lessons to come the following day. Today though she didn't immediatly go to her office instead the blond professor headed for her tea room intending to brew herself a nice soothing and mind clearing cup of green tea.
When she entered the tea room after a short walk from her classroom Laurel found that it wasn't empty. A familiar girl clad in badger robes stood with her back to the door and her attention on the cupboard she was poking around in.
Moving forward Professor Vance called out kindly "Why, hello there Isabel! Are you looking for something in particular?" Like a tarot deck perhaps?

Moving forward Professor Vance called out kindly "Why, hello there Isabel! Are you looking for something in particular?" Like a tarot deck perhaps? "Hello, Professor Vance!" Isa smiled at the professor. "I'm looking for something that can be used for water scrying." Scrying with water seemed to be easier than using a crystal ball. "What is your preferred method of scrying?" There were many different methods for scrying, and Isa was curious about the difficulty and accuracy of each of the methods. Tea leaf readings were interesting too. Isa loved tea, and she had taken to creating her own blends of herbal teas.
Scrying wasn't the only thing she was hoping to do here. The small notebook which she had been using to record her dreams had run out of pages. Pulling it out of her robe pocket, she flipped through the notebook to the last filled page that had her most recent dream written on it. There was a deep pool near a tree that she thought to be an olive tree in a garden by a stone building that looked like an ancient Greek temple. Weird. Was all of this supposed to mean something? "There is something else divination related on my mind. Do you have any books on dream interpretation?" That reminded her of the notebooks that she had found. Holding up of of the new dream diaries, she asked, "May I take of of these to start a new dream diary? All of the pages in my old one are full."

Walking further inside the tea room and near to where Isa was standing near the cupboards Laurel responded thoughtfully "I prefer scrying with my trusted crystal ball, but you can also scry with mirrors or with water and crystals depending on location and materials." Passing Isa to rummage around in the cupboards she soon found a couple of mirrors and crystals and a crystal ball which she showed and held out to Isa. "All the things in the cupboards are free for all students to use. But if you want to water scry then you should try scrying with these crystals in water either in a bowl or outside by the lake." If she was hung up on water scrying that was.
Going over to the nearest table Laurel unloaded the materials in her arms. Looking around the room, she tried to remember what her purpose had been for coming in here. Remembering the tea she moved to look for a green tea bag in the tea bag collection by the tea pot and tea cups. Hearing Isa's next questions Laurel paused with one tea bag in each hand as she turned to face the badger once more. "Of course, feel free to take a new journal to fill with your dreams. I've found that it helps to record your dreams on paper if you wish to remember them."
Gesturing to the cupboards near where Isa had taken her dream journal Laurel said "Look in that cupboard over there, it should hold some books on dream interpretation. Is the information on dreams in your textbooks on dream symbols not enough?"

Gesturing to the cupboards near where Isa had taken her dream journal Laurel said "Look in that cupboard over there, it should hold some books on dream interpretation. Is the information on dreams in your textbooks on dream symbols not enough?" Isa listened attentively as Professor Vance spoke. Hmm, maybe she would use the crystal ball instead of water. She was always open to trying new methods of divination. That was how she learned. "Thank you. I think I'll try using a crystal ball." Isa carefully took the crystal ball that the professor had offered to her and gently set it on the table.
She would be able to keep one of the journals! "Thank you. Dreams easily slip the mind if they are not written down." Isa set one of the blank journals aside with the things she was setting up on the table. "Dream interpretation is a subject that I find fascinating and wish to expand my knowledge of using more than just the brief chapter in the textbook." Her father had always taught her from a young age to actively pursue knowledge in areas that were of interest to her, and that textbooks were never the end-all of knowledge. One who truly wanted to learn sought out knowledge outside of class. Dad's second hand muggle bookshop had been one of the sources of her collection of botany and gardening books. However, unlike Dad and Penny, Isa preferred a more practical approach to learning. Theory seemed boring when she could not apply her knowledge through hands on practice. This was one of the reasons why she was somewhat unsure about divination. She was interested in the theory enough to try new methods of divination and practice outside of class, but she was easily discouraged when it did not seem to be working for her.

Her father had always taught her from a young age to actively pursue knowledge in areas that were of interest to her, and that textbooks were never the end-all of knowledge. One who truly wanted to learn sought out knowledge outside of class. Was she being unprofessional? The thought crossed her mind when Isa chose to try using scrying with a crystal ball over the other two options. Had she done it because Laurel had confessed that it was her favourite method for reading the future to come? "You're welcome Isa." Laurel murmured in response as she watched the badger girl set the crystal ball down on a table with a gentleness that few showed.
She welcomed the topic change since it let her push away her thought about being or not being unprofessional. Focusing on what Isa was saying Laurel nodded "Yes, that's true. If you write down your dreams you can later interpret their meanings for your future even if most dreams are often jumbled and weird." Dreams were sadly though not as concrete as other methods for reading the future since dreams were often hard to understand.
Pulling out her wand Laurel boiled some water and put in a green tea bag into a large tea cup which she took with her over to where Isa had set up her crystal ball. "Do you want a cup of green tea too?" Laurel offered as she took a seat in one of the chairs. "I understand your wish to expand your knowledge of dream interpretation further than the brief chapter you're required to read in your textbooks. I've sought more information too on different subjects that have peeked my interest to lean more. Flourish & Blotts i've always gone to for more books."
