Carlton watched Mason attempt to play. It definitely wasn't Mason who had beaten his record.

"Yup... Not bad." Carlton lied. "Next time though, you can try you know to actually move the yellow thing," He pointed at the screen. "That you. And you move away from the ghosts." He pointed at the ghosts on the screen. "'Cause that ain't you.

Carlton had never heard of someone not knowing what Pac Man was, which probably meant Mason wasn't muggle born, which meant... "Are you magical?!" He poked the older kid. Like, completely magical? Carlton would have loved growing up in a magical house with magical parents like a normal magical person. But he'd grown up in a normal house with normal parents like a normal person. That hadn't helped him much at Hogwarts.

"I'm Carlton!" He beamed. Now, tell me your ways oh magical person.

Mason stared at the yellow thing that Carlton was pointing at on the screen. The thing he should have controlled instead of the little ghosts. He rubbed his eyes for a second before turning to the younger student. "Are you telling me its 1 against 4 instead of 4 against 1? Well that is just complete rubbish isn't it?"

He stepped away from the machine, not feeling like trying again. Perhaps he was more suited for another game? He looked around when the little one suddenly poked him. "Hey! watch it" the question just made him blink. Was he magical? What kind of question was that?!

"Yes...." He said slowly, unsure if he was making a joke or not. "And so are you, how else could you have gotten in to this school?" weird question. "Why'd you asked?"

Carlton frowned. "Ru... Rubbish? That's NOT rubbish!" Oi! Get back here tall magical boy and show the machine some respect. He stood stomping his feet impatiently as Mason stepped away from the machine.

Wait... Right. Carlton was also magical but not as magical as Mason was. Probably. "Yes, that's... You make a good point." Pout. "BUT, I know things like this," Pointing to the arcade game. "And YOU know things to do with THIS!" He pulled out his wand and held it in the air, clooose to Mason's face so he could really see it.

Can you see it? Can you see the wand?

"Magic things. You know things to do with magic. 'Cause you're magical."

ALSO: "How old are you, Mason? You need to show me life experience." He was in need of some and since Mason seemed so tall and old he could share some of his knowledge to the younger generation. "Sharing is caring, Mason."

He had lost the game. That meant the game was rubbish because he did not like losing. He pointed towards a TV screen while ignoring the kid's stomping of the feet. "I've seen these before. Muggle's have them in their houses and they stare at it" he said, turning back to look at him when a wand was suddenly in his face.

Jumpy as he was, ask a certain Gryffindor.... the Ravenclaw wasted no second and swatted the wand away from his face. Not caring if it would fall out of the boy's hand or not. "Don't ever wave your wand in front of someone's face. It's dangerous"

Questions. That was such a first year thing to do. It almost made him laugh. But really though. He did not want to learn his life experience unless he was up to getting punched in the face by people. In this case a certain Gryffindor again....

"I'm sixteen, Ravenclaw, Pureblood and really not that interesting" Seriously, wizards and witches weren't interesting. Muggles and muggleborns were.

"Huh?" What- What- What now? "The TV? Yes. That's yes..." Carlton wasn't sure if Mason was serious or not. He watched him with narrowed eyes. "We use it for entertainment... Wait, you don't? You've never watched TV?" This kid didn't know what a TV was? Then... What were all their furnitures pointing at? What did they do every night? How could they watch Star Wars if they didn't have a TV? Wizards were weird.

And then all of a sudden, Mason was waving his arms around like a crazy person, swatting the wand out of his hands. Carlton glared at him. NOT NICE. He bent down to the floor and picked up his wand again. "What, this old thing?" He waved his wand around in the air. "It's not dangerous. I barely even know how to use it!" He shrugged, giving it a small glare. It never did what it was told and couldn't possibly be dangerous.

"Pureblood..." He wasn't sure if he liked that term. Did that mean he was unpure? No. "And a Ravenclaw. This means you're smart." Seemed like Carlton had hit the jackpot. A Ravenclaw pureblood. "AND you're older than me. It's your duty to share your knowledge to us small people." He looked up at him, waaaaaaay up at him with his best looking stern face. Now, obey me tall one.

Mason shrugged his shoulders. He never really cared for a TV. What even was the point of looking at a screen and see moving images? Although he had to admit that that was pretty cool. Just ...pointless.. "I prefer my time reading" he said as he picked up the bag he had placed on the ground earlier to play the game and hoisted his bag filled with books with the use of the extension charm better on his shoulder.

He didn't feel quilty as he watched the first year pick up his wand from the floor after he had knocked it out of his hand. Even if he did not know how to use it properly, it was still dangerous to wave it at someone's face. Consider it a basic lesson.

"What wand core do you have?" he asked. It might sound like a random question to Carlton but it really wasn't. The core of a wand had great influences on a witch or wizards spellwork. Or at least that was what he had read during the summer.

Ravenclaw and smart. Why did everyone think that if you're a Ravenclaw you're automatically smart? Sure, he was good at theories because it helped that he actually reads his textbooks unlike a lot of students but when it came to othet things he was completely clueless. Like, why a girl would get upset and slap you in the face when you laugh at their hair being wet from the drink you accidentally threw at them?

"And why is it my duty to share my knowledge with you?" he asked. "there are classes for that"

Right. Reading. Carlton nodded, thoughtful. This was perfect. Then Mason asked him something he didn't understand. "Wand core?" Errrrr... "I don't think I bough a wand core. I only have a wand." He held it up in the air again, waving it around slightly. "Where do you buy a wand core?"

Carlton shifted his weight a little. He needed to convince this person to teach him something. He just couldn't let this person get away! "The classes aren't enough! Plus, it's your duty because... Because..." He hesitated. His future would depend on the rest of this conversation. "Because you're part of the older generation. And I'm the younger generation." Or were they the same generation?

Anyway...

"And if the older generation doesn't help out the younger generation then, what hope is there for the world?" HMMMM?

Carlton was rather proud of that one.

He had a bit of a break between his next class and his other Prefect-y duties, and since he was already on this floor, might as well shoot some aliens right? Or at least whatever's available for playing.

Tenacius found several of the cabinets actually free, and with glee he bounded towards them, pausing for a moment to decide which he will try out..... maybe he should go like real deep cut old school yeah? Super Mario it is!

Simon was looking around, he wasn't sure if he wanted to go into the muggle study area but he had seen Tenacius heading this way and so well he would go there as well.

"The force is strong with this one!" Simon decided to see what Tenacius would say about that, he had wanted to get his bed cover but well he couldn't, so his cloak was the next best thing, he stood there, looking like a Jedi. Hopefully Tenacius would find it cool.

8-bit Mario had just started sprinting for the mushroom when he heard a familiar quote ring across the room. He glanced back with a big grin-- anyone who knows that quote deserve mad respects yo! "I am a Jedi, like my Father before me." yeah he knows thats not the next line to A New Hope, but he felt it was a better response given the context that Simon was making like Darth Vader who forgot his helmet.

"Wazzup Simon?" he asked distractedly as he got Mario to start lapping up all those shiny coins...

Simon smiled as Tenacius replied to his quote. "Good, A mission, I have for you." Simon smirked trying to do his best Yodi impersonation. He hoped that Simon wouldn't mind what he was doing.

He was about to say something else when he noticed what Tenacius was playing, oh now for some fun.

"You do realise that Mario, is a plumber right but he never goes around fixing any pipes or anything, which means that he doesn't actually ever do his job." Simon wonder how someone could get away without working for so long, did he think he was Santa Claus?

"What mission? What are you talking about?" he replied back in his most Threepio of manners, exaggerated English accent included.

He mashed on a few buttons to throw fireballs at the Goomba while jumping up and nailing those rows of boxes. "Course he fixes stuff-- he unclogs them pipes-- its chock full of bugs and coins dont you see?" he chuckled as Mario descends down a pipe towards a chamber of COINS "Awwyea show me the moneh!..."
