Carlton glanced down at his robes, he didn't know why. He didn't need to double-check his robes to see what house he belonged to but he did anyway.

"Oh, yeah I am!" He said happily, puffing out his chest a little. Then he realized the proper thing to do after you accidently knocked someone over was to at least offer them a hand. He dropped his bag and reached out a hand for her to grab. "I'm Carlton." He said, glancing to where the buckle of his bag had connected with her face. That looked... Yeah, that didn't look fun at all. Why was he constantly escorting people to the Hospital Wing? "And I'm sorry." He added, not meeting her gaze. So he didn't really know how to talk to girls but he did know that he wasn't supposed to hit them with a bag of books.

He was a little odd, Natalie thought. But his hair seemed really soft. She wondered if he'd let her touch it sometime. But at the moment, her eye still hurt. Natalie dropped her hand from her eye and blinked a few times. It still hurt and she didn't know it, but it was all red. She took the boys hand and shook it lightly. "I'm Natalie."

Finally, he said sorry. She saw him looking at her eye. "It's okay." She blinked a few more times. "Does it look bad?" she asked. She didn't carry a mirror with her, so she wouldn't have known.

Did it look bad? Carlton hesitated. Was it a trick question? He decided to go with an honest answer. It wasn't a great first impression to first hit her in the face and then get caught lying.

"It looks... Red." If he squinted he could make out the letter 'C' by her temple, which must be from his initials on the bag. Well then, he'd just branded a complete stranger. "It's kind of getting bigger and bigger. Like... Swollen."

Just stating the facts here.

"Maybe we should go see the healer?" As long as they explained the whole story then he would understand. It wasn't like he'd intentionally knocked her over. She'd just appeared out of nowhere. "Or get some ice cream." He lit up at that. It wasn't much that ice cream couldn't fix.

Red. It felt red. It stung, too. Her hand rushed back up to her eye and touched it gently, suddenly nervous. "Swollen?" she asked, patting it with a wince. What if she got a BLACK EYE? Good thing her mother wasn't around to freak out about it. She overreacted over her and Liam sometimes.

Natalie frowned. She didn't really want to go to the healer. Her mum always fixed her up nice and quick. But her eyes lit up when he mentioned ice cream instead.

"We can get ice cream?" WHERE? Did they have an ice cream shop at Hogwarts? She had heard about Hogsmeade, but if there was a place to get ice cream in the castle, her life would be changed forever. And she would get fat.

Carlton just stood watching her. Ehhh.... "I dunno." He said honestly, shrugging. How was he supposed to know if they could get ice cream at Hogwarts or not? He'd just suggested it because he had some cravings, he'd hoped Natalie would know where to get it.

"I just wanted some... BUTT there is a bakery in the Astronomy Tower! And they have donuts."

And donuts was almost as good as ice cream as comfort food. Or just food in general.

Seeing her students happy made Rosalyn happy and she was glad that she could bring a smile to the boy's face. It was always a nice feeling to be rewarded something even if you hadn't been expecting it. "Not at all, Mr Kennedy. You deserve it." What a sweet boy he was. She found herself wondering he was related to Azura. "You don't happen to be related to someone named Azura?" Random question, but she really did wonder.

Not everyone was gifted with painting; that was something that Rosalyn knew well. "I can't say that I am very good at it myself, so I understand what you mean. Drawing is easier." Not that she was an amazing artist or anything. "I'm happy to see you getting in touch with your creativity and playing with your strengths." That was always a good thing and something that she liked to encourage as much as possible. Being creative and artistic were GOOD things.

Yeah, she decided that it would be safer to bounce the pear over closer to where she was. Ah but someone else had seen her too and seem to be enjoying it too. She smiled at Cassie. "Actually I am. What brings you out on a nice day like this?" She zoomed the pear toward her and caught it midair. Taking a bite of the pear while the other girl answered her question.

That was certainly a plus available to them with magic, something as simple as playing with a piece of fruit could be fun. And Cassie hadn't even seen or been aware of the incident with the wounded first year. "You mean, besides storing up nice days outside for when its not so nice..." she mused as the other girl at the pear. Scotland was nice but it had its moments with bad weather.

"Nothing else really," she added with a shrug. "Just enjoying the weather. What about you?" she asked, returning the question, debating taking a seat as well. She had stumbled upon her companion.

Henry watched the younger boy a moment as he was quite obviously admiring it. There was something about the way the boy looked at it that made him think he was rather accustomed to brooms, not to mention that he already knew what the model was. That was cool though. He was that into brooms when he was that age too.

"My dad bought it for me when I was trying out for the U17 team," he grinned. Or, the Christmas before so he could get in plenty of training time. "I've had it for a couple years now. You like Quidditch?" Who didn't, really? Well, to be fair, he knew that not everyone was a fan, but most people who had an interest in brooms also had an interest in the sport.

"Oh." Henry nodded. He could relate a little, even if he had a lesser model when he was a bit younger which was better than no broom at all. He wasn't allowed to bring it all his first year. And even though they said that the school brooms were the same, they just weren't. "Well.. maybe you'll get to have one next year. What year are you?" If he was a first year, that might explain it at least partially.

Oh. Natalie's face fell when she realized this boy didn't actually know where to get ice cream. Now it sounded really good. Would she have to wait until Hogsmeade weekend? She was very excited about that adventure, by the way.

But her face lit back up again when Carlton mentioned a bakery. "There is?!" But then her face fell yet again when she realized where the astronomy tower was. Her eyes scaled the other side of the building, looking up, up, up to the highest tower. "That's a long ways away." Was a donut really worth it?

Leon tilted his head as Professor Newton spoke and his grey eyes went rather wide. Someone was asking him if he was related to someone! Azura.. that was a girl name!

Leon opened his mouth and then shut it for a moment, sort of stunned that this moment presented itself, but the Ravenclaw was going to take it. "Truthfully, I don't know. My father wrote me over the summer and said I have a sister at this school, but he didn't tell me her name. Just her birthday, I know she's a fourth year.. This.. Azura.. is she a fourth year? " He asked curiously. He was trying to not get his hopes up, but.. if he reminded her of someone, it was a shot.

"Yes, it is so much easier. Not to mention, it's easier to practice drawing, so
I think we can all get better faster. " He said with a slight grin. Best to do things the smart way instead of the hard way, yeah?

"Thank you Professor, I also play the guitar, are you musical at all? " He asked curiously.

Her eyes widened as he swore. Was a parole officer Prefect allowed to do that? ....Cool. She raised her right eyebrow at the strange, strange older boy. Nevermind? Alright. She wouldn't press him for more information but he was making her wonder.... Hmm.. She'd leave that. It'd be rude to ask so many questions. It didn't seem to be like a good way to make friends.

Olivia glanced down at her notebook and then back at the older boy. "An original score. It's an adventure and I'm trying to find a way to end it. I was trying to end it with a harmony but I think that would be cliche..." She paused, glancing down at the notes. Hmmm.... Way too cliche. She pursed her lips. "What do you think?"

Carlton eyed her suspiciously. What did she meeeean by a long way? They were getting donuts, It didn't matter how far he would have to go. The fact that there were donuts at the school was beyond cool. It was added to the list of things his friends back home would be jealous of.

He actually didn't understand girls at all. The only one he really knew was his sister and she usually shoved him out of her room from time to time. So secretive. He wondered if Natalie was secretive, he hoped not. Getting shoved was not something he enjoyed.

"It's D-O-N-U-T-S." He said waiting for her reaction and hoping he spelled it out correctly. Had she got it yet? He tried again. "Donuts. Like actual donuts." The more he talked about them, the more he wanted them. Like... A lot. Carlton slooowly started to inch backwards.

Yep, he wanted to go. But he also felt bad just leaving her all beat up at the Courtyard. So would she follow? Did he have to say something or would she just follow him if he started walking? He took a tentative step backwards again. "It's..." He pointed behind them. That way, it's that way.

Yes, she knew what donuts were. He didn't have to spell it out for her, literally. Natalie didn't understand boys at all. She understood her brother, but he was her twin, so they practically had telekinesis. Plus, they basically had shared every waking moment together for the last eleven years, so Natalie felt like she knew him pretty well. But this boy? This boy was new. All she knew was that he was clumsy, liked donuts, and had fluffy hair.

Natalie SIGHED when the boy started inching backwards. "Alright, fiiiiine," she whined and started walking with him. She hadn't been doing anything important anyway. Donuts were important now.

"I can't remember the last time I had a donut," Natalie said thoughtfully. Usually her mum and dad tried to keep them off sweets like that. It was a shame, really. At least they got to stock up on Sugarplums candy before they got to the castle.

Rooney dropped to sit on the bench beside her and looked in detail at her notebook. "Hum it for me?" He would need to hear it too to help her come to a conclusion about how to end it. He couldn't just go on what he saw. Rooney learnt by doing and that was the same way that he experienced music. By being involved in it. Roo even went as far as leaning in to get a better look at the paper notebook, trying to make out the melody in his head whilst he waited for the girl to start humming it.

Dora grinned at him as she watched the ash begin to fall on them both. It wouldn't hurt them so she simply brushed a bit off of her leg and focused her attention back on him. "I like sarcasm." Which might have seemed an odd remark, but that was really her way of telling him that they were friends forever. Yep.

Oh wait. OH WAIT. Was he asking follow up questions? Awesome! "It is cool, really. I didn't realize until we got older just how cool it was. And he goes to Durmstrang because he wanted to. Our dad lets us make our own decisions." Was that her sharing too much again? Possibly.

Oh well. He asked.

Rosalyn hadn't expected this and now she founded herself hoping that it was true because it would be terrible to get this boys hopes up. "Yes, she is though she isn't at Hogwarts currently." Rather da because she was a wonderful girl. "I was only wondering because she went by Kennedy for a time and I don't know many people with that last name." So she had wondered. It was just like the Botroses that attended the school together and there were the Darcys who were identical twins.

It was nice to know that she was not the only one who was better at drawing than painting. "I agree. Sometimes I like to come out here and draw things that I see, and other times I like to draw things from my imagination." It all depended on her mood really. "Could I hear you play some time?" Only if he wanted to; Rosalyn knew that some people didn't like playing for an audience. "I can't say that I am really though I'm not a bad singer I don't think." She was tempted to say that her boyfriend was in a band, but didn't think Gaston would like attention drawn on himself. That, and she didn't know if she could discuss this sort of thing with students.

Hmmm.. this was actually the first solid lead he had besides knowing her birthday.. "She isn't here hmm? " Well that would make things a bit more difficult but he would be able to figure it out. A name was better than nothing. "Do you happen to know her current last name?" He asked her curiously.. that would help out a ton..

Rosalyn hated to give Leon bad news because he was such a nice boy, but no. Azura wasn't at Hogwarts this term. "She's in America right now. I hope she comes back at some point, but at the moment I have no idea." Honestly she didn't know a lot about the whole situation as to why she had left in the first place. "She DID start going by Snow. I'm guessing that is her mother's maiden name." At least that was the most logical assumption that she could make. Hopefully she wasn't leading him into the wrong direction because that would make her feel terrible. Maybe she had only noticed a coincidence with last names and thought it might mean more. "You're very welcome. I just hope it works out. She would be your half-sister?" Was it wrong of her to ask?

Oh wonderful! The prospect of him playing for her made Rosalyn smile. "I'm looking forward to this. I think there is a music room, is there not?" There hadn't been when she was a student and she just hadn't the time to check it out since she had arrived because music just wasn't her thing. "Well, I'm sure that you are good enough. We are our own worst critic, are we not?" At least that was how it was with a lot of people.

Hmmmmm she was in America? Wait.. wasn't that where his father was?

Leon blinked his eyes for a moment, and smiled up at Professor Newton. "Thank you for all of your help, it's more than what I've got and I'm going to see what I can find out. " Hmmm Snow? Azura Snow. That was a pretty cool name! "I hope it works out as well! In fact I'm sure it will, if it's not her, at least I would have ruled out someone right? " He said positively.

"Yes, she would be my half sister. " He confirmed. And he was looking forward to getting to know her.

"Yes! The school has a music room, I've already had a jam session in it with the Head Boy, so it'll be fun to play for you in there! Any type of music you are particularly fond of? " He asked her curiously. Just so he knew what type of music to play.

He nodded. "We really are! I wish we could see ourselves for how others see us! " He said with a soft grin.

"Interesting. I guess I never thought about kids here in the UK wanting to go out of the country for school," Kane admitted with a shrug. In America, you just WENT to Ilvermorny, you didn't even think of the other schools unless you were like Kane and Brent, and your family was leaving and you wanted to follow them. Even then, most people didn't leave. Kane hadn't felt comfortable being so...well...YOUNG as much as he hated to admit he wasn't a grown up and away from his parents. "I kind of didn't think twice about leaving my school to come here, though...with my parents," he added.

"His name is Brent. He's in Slytherin...just look for the guy flipping his hair around, he's not hard to spot," he grinned.

Dora was rather amused. Looking at him she shook her head and gave a small laugh. "We have homes in Greece, France, and Russia. It's not exactly a stretch for us to go wherever we wanted for school. I ALMOST considered Beauxbatons, but I could never deal with that blue silk. Ack! " And let's be honest... they were all away from home. Just depended on which place made you feel more at home. For Dora that wasn't Hogwarts for a long time, but to feel closer to her mother, she stayed. But this was not something to share with a new friend. Not just yet. "Well, I didn't want to come here. I didn't want to leave my dad. Or my cousins. But we have to, yeah? Al never had an issue with leaving. Dad visits him just like he does me." She really didn't understand why it seemed so foreign to the guy... except for maybe the fact that he was foreign to this place? Maybe boarding school wasn't the norm for Americans. Hmmm.

Hair flipping. Ack. The Gryffindor wrinkled her nose up a bit and giggled. Girls hair flipping was alright... she had yet to see a guy do it and be... attractive. Meep. "Sounds great. " It was said flatly, but she had a crooked grin in place regardless.

"How old are you, again? " Had he told her that already?

Well, looked like she had been helpful after all! That made Rosalyn happy because it meant that Leon was one step closer to finding his sister. Hopefully. "Well, I really hope that it IS her, but you are right about that. Always best to stay positive. I am sure you WILL find her." His was a good attitude to see! "I am glad that I could help." She would keep her fingers crossed for his sake! And Azura's in case he DID turn out to be her brother; having him in her life would be a good thing because he was such a kind and caring person and everyone needed those in their lives.

Right. Of course. "Well, I am happy for you to have a half-sister. Siblings are wonderful even if they can be annoying at times." Rosalyn laughed, thinking about her brothers. It wasn't easy being the only girl child, but she more than survived it.

"Oh, wonderful! I like different kinds of music, so you can just play what you are into. What kind of music do you like?" It was all wonderful even if she didn't have an ear for it herself. Her boyfriend did though, even if he was too modest to admit that he was talented. That was Gaston though, and one of the many reasons why she loved him. "That is very true! Well, all we can do is try our best and take pride in that." At least that was the way that she liked to see things.

"WHOA," Kane replied, eyes blinking wide. Houses in ALL those countries?? That was crazy! That was the life - Kane hoped someday he'd be successful enough to have that many homes. "I really want to travel to all those places. Now that we live here, I hear it's easier to move around and travel - so hopefully over the summers, my family will get to visit other countries. I want to see ALL of it," he added with a grin. He knew that was a broad statement, but it was true - he wanted to see the WORLD!

"Silk? Ew. That's like, the WORST fabric," he nodded in agreement. This was of course based off the very minimal knowledge he had of fabrics. "And I'm thirteen. Second year," he added. But he was super cool for a second year, because like ALL of his friends that he'd made so far were older. He was even friends with the HEAD GIRL.

He wondered if this was a misuse of his gift. Declan tried to rationalize it for the past four hours. If he was using it to aid a fellow student, and not himself--at least not directly--then it should be fine. He wouldn't be a selfish twig of a man abusing the gift given to him by the Elders and the powers that be.

Right?

Declan was unsure.

He was always unsure but he wore a smile regardless. There was no point in being the older brother if he always seemed worried, tired, and unsure. It didn't matter if it was true.

"Anyway," he remarked getting up from where he had drawn a circle with the aid of a wonky piece of chalk. "I think this will be quick." Declan at least hoped so. "I checked the stars and planetary alignment. Jupiter is in our favor."
