START HERE: Patient's Check-In Area Down the third floor corridor and towards the main door of the Hospital Wing, you will find yourself in a relatively warm and cozy antechamber. On both sides, you will see wooden benches long enough to seat at least 10 people. This is where the patient or companions of the patient wait and fill out the Emergency Form provided by Healer Reed.

Patient Name: Aslan Evans. Accompanied by: N/A Links: (none because this is a kind of check up/need to understand something) |

Alright. At least he got a name out of it. River got up from his seat with the form in his hand, and made his way to the Waiting Area. "Miss Evans?" River expected her to have company, and that she'd look miserable in a way. The Healer approached the young lady, quietly assessing her if she was injured...or hiding any injury. Teens tend to do that, he supposed. "What can I do for you?" he asked tucking his hands in front of him, tilting his head to the side wondering what on earth is wrong with this lady. |

Aslan, dark haired, dark eyed and slightly brooding didn't notice the Healer even as he spoke to her. She was caught up, you see. Her mind racing around possible conclusions, symptoms she'd never realized might be symptoms and some, if any kind of diagnosis that might come her way. She did this without worry, concern or anxiety. It was another puzzle, that was all. A puzzle to piece together to reach the solution to a problem that was becoming more and more of an annoyance. The shadow on the floor was what caught her attention, long and misshapen but male in form. Undoubtably the -not-Murdoch- healer. Glancing up, her slightly glazed over eyes took in the Healer's appearance with vague curiosity. He was, as all the rest of the staff and the rest of the school for that matter, physically attractive, albeit in a way that did not appeal to her taste. The Gryffindor's features were neutral, calm and perhaps just a bit weary. "Yes. Evans." She said, quite a bit of time after his question. Aslan remained seated. "I can't seem to calm my mind. My thoughts chase over each other before I can conclude them and as I'm sure you can conclude that isn't exactly helpful." Tone even, Aslan raised an eyebrow as she waited. What sort of magic does a Healer employ to check the mind? |

Is this what Jordan warned him about? No, she’s not faking her illness, but she looked crestfallen and tired. Tired of what, exactly? River remained neutral, deciding ultimately that Miss Evans’ case was something he should treat carefully. By the looks of it, the lady Gryffindor in front of him can no longer be classified as a child, and if she came to him looking for answers, then perhaps privacy should be added to the formula as well. The raised brow was not missed, and the Healer returned it with a kind grin. “Medically speaking, I can conclude that you’ve lost a good amount of sleep because of these racing thoughts.” He said nodding to her. “The body doesn't lie.” He added as he held up Miss Evan’s form and tapped it against his open palm. “Kettle’s just boiled. Care to join me for tea, Miss Evans?” he asked gesturing his hand towards his office door. The Gryffindor doesn’t need any sleeping tincture... for now. It seemed that she needed an adult person to talk to. OOC: You can post now in his office! |
"Have a seat, Sam. I'll fill out your form. I've probably got better handwriting anyway, hm?" Junia shooed her injured friend to one of the benches when they arrived and headed right up to the podium for form filling out purposes. She was quite good at bossing, had he noticed? And honestly, said bossing was helping her feel more like herself and less like a worried girl friend. Girl friend with a space in between. That kind of girl friend. ...obviously. Right, forms. Rather unsteadily Rosalyn reached the hospital ward. It was a good thing that there hadn't been a long way to go and that Gaston had been there to help her. "It's a good thing that you are on the same level as River because I am done going up and down stairs right now." Yep, she wasn't going to be doing that again until she had been looked to and given potion. There was a form that needed filling out, so Rosalyn set about doing that while they waited for River: Quote:
|
Trained to act and prepare fast, River wasted no second to get all the things he needed for Rosalyn. He knew that his colleagues would be there shortly, given that the Bistro was just across the Hospital Wing. The Healer went on to set the bed by pulling the blanket away from the mattress and placed a charm on it to keep it warm for Rosalyn. And before he left the area to welcome in his first patient, River scribbled notes and his initial diagnosis at the back of Rosalyn’s form, and attached it to the foot of her bed. River spun around as soon as he was done, only to be welcomed by Roscoe, his black Newfoundland with another Emergency Form. “Don’t look so happy, Roscoe. This young man is a patient, not a new playmate.” River gave his dog a good pat on the head before summoning in the first patient. Quote:

Yes, Sam did notice that Junia had no trouble calling the shots. And in this instance, he had no qualms with that: she could fill out the paperwork and he could just sit here holding his arm. Somehow holding it made it seem slightly better, even if that was just mental. He nodded before she walked off. Idly, he glanced around the hospital wing to distract him from the pain in his arm. He'd never visited before, for himself or for anyone else. So when Junia returned and asked him about it, he shook his head some. "Me neither." A boy of many words. When the healer had finished tending to another patient who was there before them, the man made his way over to them. Sam thought it a little odd that he called him Master Chevalier. Only house elves had called him that before. Maybe he was foreign. "Well, we were jumping off the swings and I came down on my arm." Needless to say, his landing needed some work. "I heard something make a 'snap' when it happened." If that made any difference. Still holding his arm with his free hand, he kept his eyes on the healer for some good healing wisdom. |

..."You can fix it, right, Healer Reed?" Like, there were potions for something like this, she was sure of it. It wasn't like Sam had to stay in the hospital wing for ages...right? |

“Of course, Miss Botros. Trust me, I have seen worse.” He grinned at the young Slytherin and gestured for them to move. “You’re welcome to accompany Master Chevalier inside, if you wish. Off you pop then.” OOC: You may now post in Bed 2! |
Scribbling notes on the piece of parchment proved to be very difficult with her left arm. She was right handed and she had landed and had hurt her arm quite a bit. Before when she had confronted the poltergeists, it hadn't hurt but now it was really aching. "Perfect," she said to herself before turning to Profesosr Greyvson. "Thank you for accompanying me." Fortunately, they hadn't run into Peeves or Miffy again. Phew. Quote:

Still, she wasn’t going to tell the young Gryffindor that…it was, well, it wouldn’t put her in the best light as a Professor now would it? Hi…I didn’t come for you? no that was just rude! She’d never say that…well, she’d say that if she were with Moaning Myrtle. The weeping thing was so utterly annoying. ”does your arm hurt any more than it had earlier?” she asked kindly. |
Truth be told by the time Skylar exited the forest and was walking back up the castle stairs, her arm didn't feel so bad anymore. However, she'd seen him at the feast and at daily dinners and well, truth be told the third year wanted to know more about this new staff member. And given that he didn't teach any classes, well having an excuse to come to the Hospital Wing was the only way she'd get to know more about him. Thankfully she finally had the excuse, even if it was a gelid reason. Quote:

Seriously, what is wrong with these Gryffindor children? It seemed that the trend hasn’t changed a bit, when he himself was a student like, “Miss Holden?” River had a worried look on his face as he came out of the Hospital wing right after attending to Master Chevalier. “Imogen.” He said acknowledging the woman with a brief grin. “Thank you for accompanying, Olivia. What happened to you, Miss Holden?” Because it doesn’t hurt to give him a very brief background of her accident. “Please take a seat while you’re at it.” He added, addressing the same to Imogen. Quote:
In just a few, and quick strides, River emerged from the Hospital Wing like a huge bat with his black robes billowing behind him. “Miss Diggory, good afternoon.” He said to the lone snake. “What...can I do for you?” he asked curiously, given that she was clearly not in pain, nor did she look like she was extremely ill. |
SPOILER!!: ze adults! Olivia glanced at Professor Greyvson and offered her a small smile as she gingerly held her arm. She was still grateful that the Professor had helped her out. "Yes, Healer Reed is very nice. He told me that if I ever broke my arm, I should come see him." She chuckled a little, wondering how he would react. Maybe when he came over, she ought to grin and make light of the situation. Hehe. She wondered how he would react to THAT. Teehe. Her mind wandered as it occasionally did to other thoughts. Her thoughts went to the little Snake that had been with them. Carlton. She wondered how he was. Poor thing was probably terrified to venture around the school alone now. She'd have to speak to him as soon as she was mobile again. Yes. That would be a must. Olivia snapped back to reality when Professor Greyvson had asked her a question. Oh! Her arm. "It's sore. It really hurts to move it. I've tried rotating my wrist and..." she said, trying to demonstrate and winced. "I don't have much movement. I'm not sure if its broken. I hope its not. I hope its just bruised." She glanced down at her arm and bit her lip. It hurt way more than a bruise. And Healer Reed came out with a very worried look. Hi. She took a seat, following his instruction to do so, and then began her story. "Well I think I may broken my arm so we came to see you!" she added with a small smile, trying to make light of the situation before frowning slightly. Maybe humor wasn't the best approach at the moment, eh? Well... "I broke my arm... but I didn't go looking for trouble, Healer Reed." Yes, she swore. She told him that she wouldn't. Mhmm.. She probably looked like an absolute mess. Leeches on her, hair messed up.... Yeah. It was great to look like this in front of an attractive person. Cheeks flushed slightly and she brought herself to focus. Ahem. The leech. She could feel it still attached. She shuddered. It was quite awful. Though she supposed that she ought to give him the full story, right? Where to begin? Ah. Yes. At the beginning. "Well I was exploring around the castle when I ran into another student, Carlton Lewis. Carlton's a first year here. He's probably terrified by what happened." She would definitely have to check in with him. She paused. "He and I were admiring the suits of armor when Peeves came out of nowhere and flew dungbombs at us. Peeves was parading around, trying to convince Carlton that he'd blame the mess at the Suits of Armor on Carlton and I. Then he said we'd get expelled which didn't seem possible." It wasn't possible since they hadn't committed the offense; however, poor Carlton had believed it. Poor thing. She wished there was some spell that she could have used to defend both of them. "Then his wife, Miffy, appeared and they fought. Then Prefect Kitty Valentine appeared to help us out. Family drama. Peeves left quite upset. He didn't leave without throwing a few dungbombs and some armor getting knocked over. Then Miffy left too, dumping a few live leeches on me." She shuddered and tried to block that thought out of her mind. "I tried to move out of the way and slipped, landing on my right arm," she said, motioning to her sore arm that she gingerly held. "I also think I have a leech on my neck and one on my shoulder that are still attached." Last time she checked, they still were. "Carlton was in tears and then Professor Greyvson came out to investigate. She found us on the floor. Then she offered to escort us to the Hospital Wing." Yes, it had been a very nice offer. |
SPOILER!!: Olivia H. and Imogen River sat beside Olivia, and got her form out in one swift motion, and scribbled medical notes on it. The Healer held a sigh as the young Gryffindor mentioned Peeves...and his partner. River wasn’t exactly surprised, given that he’d witnessed Peeves’ notorious pranks before, and the fact that his nephew, Jace, had an accident just last term sustaining a head injury because of Peeves. Of course, as an uncle, he had to insist to examine the boy just to be sure. Apparently, the not so friendly poltergeist wasn’t anywhere near from being over his infamous tricks. As Olivia recounted what happened to her and her companions, River shot Imogen a quick glance, then back to the injured Lion. “I see. I can surely fix your arm...and your...leech problem.” He finally said tilting Olivia’s head to the side to look at the worm fixated firmly on her. “Huh. Medieval bloodletting without my knowledge?” he asked jokingly. Who knows if the young Gryffindor was that adventurous? After jotting down another quick note on Olivia’s form, River finally stood up and looked at the opposite side of the corridor. “I do hope the other two students are okay. I think it’s a good idea to let Roderick and Justin know about their students.” he said as he looked at his colleague, “I am more concerned about the first year student, however.” Poor kid. “Anyway, let’s continue this discussion inside while I fix Miss Holden's arm.” He said stepping away from the two ladies and gestured his arm towards the hospital doors. “Off you go, then.” OOC: You can now post in Bed 3! |
Mason covered his nose behind one of his fingers jelly-jinxed hands as he made his way towards the hospital. The nose had stopped bleeding but he didn't want anyone to see the dried blood in case someone stopped him to ask questions. And he really did not want to tell anyone HOW he gotten in this state. He'd find Dora later and demand his wand back. Yes, she still had his wand. Ugh. Entering the check in area, the Ravenclaw walked towards a little sign that read he had to sign up. He laughed. Though he wasn't really laughing. How was he supposed to write with fingers like jelly?! He picked up the self inking quill and it dropped on the paper immediately. This was no use. He would kick at the door for the Healer to come but he didn't want any more trouble. So after a quick look around to see if no one could see him, he picked up the quill with his mouth and began to write. The writing was illegible and he laughed again when he looked at it. Perhaps this was better, if the Healer couldn't make out what it said he would be on the top of the list. Pushing the piece of paper in the niche beside the door and then turned around to sit and wait. Quote:

No matter what he thinks of the form, both guesses needed his immediate attention. River took two steps at a time, rounded up a secret corridor, down a few flight of stairs, into a secret portrait, then out into the Third Floor. Black robes billowed behind him as he quickened his pace towards the antechamber to find, "Master...Winslow?" he asked, his brows furrowed in confusion as he saw his...jelly fingers. Alright, so that's the first accident right there, but why was he covering his nose? "Let me see that." River pocketed Mason's form as he got one of his hands and slowly closed it into a fist...or lump in his case to prevent it from wiggling around. "Your other hand please." Which also means, show your broken and bloody nose, young man. |
Quote:
Well, at least the Healer could read his name. Or did he knew his name in general? Not that it mattered, what mattered was that he was here so that Mason could get help. He was surprised when the man did not come through the hospital wing door but from the corridor. He held up one of his hands as the Healer grabbed it, making a 'fist' of his jelly jinxed fingers hand and the Ravenclaw looked at it, a look of both curiousity and disgust on his face. When he had to show his other hand he hesitated for a second or two. Then, slowly and not looking at the Healer but behind him he lowered his hand. Dried blood was still under his obviously broken nose. He hoped that he wasn't going to ask questions because he needed to leave as soon as possible to find Dora and |

After cleaning up Mason's face, River went back to fold the boy's fingers in a fist and ushered him to go inside the Hospital Wing. "Let's get you fixed, shall we?" OOC: You can now post in Bed 2! |

But her face blanked out when he asked what he could do for her, because clearly nothing seemed to be broken and the pain from the burn had dissipated some "Hi...... Mister Reed," trying to prolong the moment as much as possible. "I burned my arm in class, and well I wanted you to have a closer look." And for him to be closer to him so she could inspect him on a closer level. Not that he'd know that. She rubbed her right arm with her left hand soothingly to indicate which one was burned. |

“The ward is fully occupied at the moment, Miss Diggory. I’ll clean your wounds up in my office. Come along now.” River gestured his head towards his office door, and made a beeline for his medical supplies. OOC: You can now post in the office! |
From the portal Natalia had moved the group with Noelle to the hospital wing as the headmistress had asked. She kept watching over all of them as she did so. Her focus was getting them there without any issues. If that portal just showed up on the sixth floor could it be somewhere else as well? If so she'd be ready to make sure the group stayed safe. Turning as she got to the check in area she looked over the group, "Everyone here?" They all followed and stuff, right? Turning back to the check in, did she need to sign all of them in or just wait for the healer. "Hello? Mr. Reed?" |
So far the trip from the sixth floor to the Hospital wing was uneventful, which perhaps was a good thing given the near death experience he just had. Thing is he was already calming down some, so that was good wasnt it? He wasnt a nervous wreck. He stood by Nat as she called out for the Healer. And then his gaze fell on the emergency forms by the table "I think we need to fill this up, its what I had to do last term for someone else." And now it was he who needed medical attention. Funny how that goes.... Quote:
|
Carlton stopped right behind Nat. The headmistress had told everyone to follow the Head Girl to the Hospital Wing immediately so there he was. It was actually a nice distraction from everything, there was a lot to look at. Carlton hadn't ended up in the hospital wing yet, which was an achievement. It took some self-control to stay quiet and not ask ALL THE QUESTIONS ABOUT EVERYTHING, but he didn't say anything. He looked over at Tenacius curiously. A form! Right. He could do that. Carlton waddled over to stand next to Tenacius. Hai. Quote:

Leon was trailing slightly behind the rest of the kids, the older boy wanted to make sure everyone got there safely and no one tried to ditch.. Even though he himself kind of wanted too.. He was fine! Just a bit tired and worn out from everything. He had saved a lot of people and yet he couldn't forget the one small first year that had emerged from the Portal that he had never seen before.. The grey eyed boy sighed wearily as he trudged up to the sign in sheet and started to write his information down. Quote:
That done the dark haired boy sat down wearily and run a hand through his hair. |
SPOILER!!: Portal People! :O River was in the kitchen wolfing down his meal when three emergency forms attacked him in the face. "Nooononono," the Healer muttered under his breath as one of the forms got soaked in his bowl of soup, and quickly dried it with a spell. Speaking of spells, he ought to improve the delivery charm he invented for his emergency niche. Getting smacked in the face thrice wasn't really nice. But before he could even make out the first letter of the form, Regina's patronus reached him and addressed that there will be an emergency meeting now. As River watched it disappear, he shrugged the message off for the time being as he decided that his patients, and potential patients were more important than a staff meeting. Surely, Regina would understand. Anyway...what is this all about? The Healer took one of the forms in his hand and skimmed over it. Portal...what? Monster...what? And...bones? What bones? Whose bones?! River swallowed hard, and almost jumped out of his skin when he heard someone...or something bang against the door to the kitchens. Loud barking ensued after, and River did not take another second to linger around the kitchen. A pair of Newfoundlands, each weighing 150 pounds each, were ready to smash the door if he didn't come out sooner. "I'm coming! What in the name of Merlin is going on?" ... Four flights of stairs later, an alarmed River approached the Hospital Wing with the forms in his hand, and a dog parade escorting him from behind. Two badged students...a senior student, and a first year? "Before I ask what this means, is anyone severely hurt?" The absence of blood was noted, and River already felt a thousand times lighter. Without waiting for them to answer him, the Healer went on to examine Carlton first, since he's the youngest...and then moved to Tenacius, Natalia, and finally Leon. River took a step back, his eyes moving from the most senior student, to the youngest. They were all fine, physically at least...but the Portal must've done something to them mentally just by looking at them. River pursed his lips, and sent his patronus to Regina saying that he will be late for the emergency meeting, considering that he got a fresh case in his hands. The man reviewed the forms once more, and then looked at Natalia. "Everyone take a seat...and take deep breaths." the man then summoned Bumi, and fished a number of vials from his dog pack, and passed it to the students. "Calming draughts...now, please." he said, encouraging them to drink the contents with his hand. "Whenever you're ready, I'd like you to describe for me how this portal looks like...especially its environmental condition." |
She hadn't filled out any papers since this wasn't t he reason she was here. She was just there to escort and wait. Now was the waiting. Was this everyone? She felt maybe one or two were missing. Did they go back to their dorms? She hoped Noelle was finding them and bringing them here since the Headmistress herself said to come. Her biggest concern was the first year in the room. He had to have such a traumatic experience being his first time at Hogwarts, "You alright Carlton?" That was her first priority, but the other two she was concerned with as well. She hadn't been able to recheck her prefect buddy Ace when the healer came into the room looking a little winded. Oh he hadn't been here, well that was unfortunate for him. "Sir, the portal is being taken care of by the headmistress and two professors. It's an odd thing really. I wasn't in there myself so they can explain it better, but I had gone to get a professor and was asked to escort the ones who were in there here." |
SPOILER!!: Healer and Head Girl! Carlton looked up at the Head Girl and nodded his head. "Yup-yup-yupppp!" He assured her, giving her two thumbs up. "Peachy keen.". He didn't know what that meant, he hoped he used it in the right context. He was fine really. Just a little... Shaken. He thought about the snarling sounds he'd heard earlier and shuddered slightly. Maybe the others had been right. Maybe it hadn't been a fluffy animal who needed his love and support? But maybe it DID need his love. Just then, fluffy creatures appeared in his line of vision. Healer Reed's newfoundland dogs! Well, maybe the healer was fluffy as well, Carlton didn't really know and maybe it was rude to ask. He felt very happy they were joined by an adult again though, especially one that had healing powers and was the owner of two dogs about the same size as Carlton. Carlton left his seat and sank down on the floor so he could get closer to the dog. It waddled over to him and the young boy nuzzled his face in its neck and buried his fingers in the dog's warm fur. Ah, the comfort. He took a few sips of the calming draught the healer had brought and then snuggled closer to the dog. It just sat there next to him and didn't seem to mind this sudden case of the cuddles. Good. Nat explained why there were in the hospital wing but she hadn't gone through the portal. Carlton had, but he didn't know how to explain the 'environmental conditions' that the healer wanted to know about. He didn't know any big words at all. Even though it was probably better if Tenacius or Leon had a go at explaining things, Carlton spoke. "It was icky and dark and had gross things everywhere, professor." Professor? "Healer. Professor healer." That would do. His voice slightly muffled from talking directly into the dog's fur. "And I touched a bone-thing." He shoved his right hand up in the air, flexing it a few times to demonstrate. Did... Did that mean he was full of portal-bone-bacteria thingies? Yuck. |
everyone ^_^ Was anyone severely hurt? Tenacius didnt quite know how to answer that. He looked around their troop and although they didnt really show physical trauma the emotional one is pretty clear to see. So he replied "Uhm.... I went into the portal accidentally and landed like this--" demonstrating he pretty much starfished as his first graceful step into the great unknown. "But that happens fairly often when I'm cruising so for the most part I'm ok. Just exhausted and got frightened quite a bit...." he grinned sheepishly "Something was chasing us and I've never had such a great cardio workout in my life." Carrying a firstie up the stairs and down the corridor while running away from something that might eat them at full speed? Yep cardio workout to die for. Literally. He was already seated so he gratefully took the Calming Draught. Carlton was describing the other side and the leonine lad listened quietly, himself trying to recall what he saw. The drink was certainly helping him overcome the stress that usually makes it difficult to think "That portal..... it looked like a tear in the wall-- but not? It had a strange glow about it and its filled with this sticky type cobwebs and tendrils-- as if Professor Myer's went on vacation and the nobody was taking care of the greenhouses." It looked much more disgusting than that but it was hard to find the right kind of analogy for something so STRANGE. "That other Hogwarts was pretty dark and cold and FILTHY. So much filth. Like mud and cobwebs and dirt on the ground, the walls, it was on everything. And there were dust bunnies everywhere-- I mean there were these things in the air and you can see it even with very poor light, it was that polluted." Again he is struggling for proper descriptors but thats as close to how he can describe it to someone who didnt see it. |
Leon was still as the healer checked him out and he took the proffered potion and downed it in one gulp.. Was he feeling calmer? He wasn't sure, though he did know the chill from the other place.. the strange place was starting to ebb. He felt like he could be happy again, which was a relief.. He nodded as Carlton and Tenacius spoke and he added his two cents after they had finished.. "What Tenacius is trying to say is that there were spores in the air, membranes were all over the floors and walls, it was cold, so cold and dark it felt like you would never be happy again.. " The seventh year swallowed. "It was also dark, kinda foggy and hard to see.. not to mention Magic seemed to not work as well over there.. " He said as he racked his brain for any other pertinent information.. "Other than the snarling, shadow monster that chased us after we found human bones.. I can't think of anything else. " He put his hand to his chest.. he didn't want to start coughing up slugs or anything like that.. |
Quote:
River brought a clenched fist against his lips, and wondered more about the situation. "Who else went inside this portal? Where...are they now?" he asked briefly glancing at the Third Floor Corridor. Quote:
The Healer took note of Carlton's description, and sat on the floor with him so he could understand him better. He didn't want to intefere in his cuddle session with his dog, considering that the child was in mild shock. Why else would he be giving Bumi a death grip now, yes? "Bone thing?" River thought it was a bad idea to expound on his observation more, fearing that the bone might belong to a human being. Quote:
River straightened his back, and committed the information to his memory bank as he tried to make something out of this environment. "Hmm." the Healer paused as he considered Ace's description, and wondered about the portal's nature. "Other Hogwarts. You mean to say that there is another realm within this school?" And...why was it not filled with sunshine and butterflies for a change? The real school was drafty enough to chill everyone, and the Portal had to be worse? Quote:
River stared at the seventh year Ravenclaw, and blinked several times as he processed the things the young man told him. Surely, he can safeguard these students from respiratory infection since it was his specialisation, but the mention of human bones inside the Portal made the emergency bells in his head go off at an alarming rate. "Are you sure that what you found are human bones? Was it long and thick?" Like a man's? And what about their magic not working well in there? River let out a sigh and looked at each and every student in front of him. "If you can't seem to use magic in there, then it would be best to stay away from that tear in the wall, and don't forget about this particular information." Maybe...just maybe, that will be enough warning so that the others won't venture inside that thing. |
Leon nodded slowly as the healer spoke to him and he took a breath, "Yes Sir, I'm pretty sure that they were human bones, there was also some blood in there as well." " He said softly as he looked down at the ground for a moment.. those images were stuck in his head now.. albeit slightly dark and blurry.. Had that shadow creature really harmed someone? Had it really killed the caretaker? He nodded as the Healer said to stay away from it.. "I wouldn't dream of going back in there sir. " He said softly, |
She nodded as he spoke directly to her. Looking around to make sure everyone else was okay she felt she could leave now. No point in her staying, she hadn't went into that portal. She was smarter than them. "Yes, the headmistress and professors were still near it. I can gather the prefects and head back there to help out." Times like this she wished she could finally do a patronous, but she couldn't so for now she was off to find the prefects. "Ace you get what you need and rest. We will get his one for you." She winked at the lion before turning and heading out. Could she just leave the head boy out of it though? |
he didnt really hit the floor lol! #OnlySlightlyLessDramatic xD The Curly Top nodded along with the others as they recounted what he also seen and thought when they were at that other Hogwarts. Terminologies. Bless the Ravenclaws. "Yeah I guess its another realm.... like a mirror image of this Hogwarts where everything's the opposite." although theres a teeny tiny part of him that still held onto the thought that it was just a secret-y part of this Hogwarts, like the Chamber of Secrets, where they could pop in at will. Kinda. Or like a museum of horrific history. Sorta. Because now that he's calmed down theres a part of him that wanted to take a closer look at the other place, as revolting and a frightening as it was. It was that kind of bizarre. Also Gryffindor. But of course he nodded his head all agreeable when the Healer said to stay away from it. Sip sip sip more calming draught so he doesnt have to talk and actually say the P word. But oh Nat is leaving. "Thanks Nat!" he smiled at the Head Girl genuinely, because she has no idea just how immensely thankful to Merlin Almighty he was when he saw her again. And there she turns to go, defending the school from Monsters. And here he is told to rest...... .....:music: No there ain't no rest for the wicked until we close our eyes for good :music: |
Portal People! *declones* :3 Quote:

The man then turned to the rest, and handed out extra calming draughts for them to take. "Not everyone who ventured into that portal didn't come to see me, so please...give these out to them if they need one." he then got more vials of calming draught from Bumi's dogpack and distributed it to the remaining students. "There's nothing else I can do for you now, but make sure to get some rest. Leon and Prefect Salander, off you go to your common rooms...Master Lewis, I will walk you to your dormitory. You can have Roscoe for the night if you wish." No, he will not deprive the first year from slobbery kisses and extra warmth of a fluffy dog. |
Charlotte had been to the hospital wing all of twice in her time at Hogwarts, she just wasn't the sort to get sick or anything. Totally healthy over here, usually. Don't mind the dark circles under her eyes. And she totally was not swaying on her feet right now. Totally just here for.... for... like a wake-up potion or something. Something to stay awake. And be able to think straight. Straighter. Clearer. Its just that she wasn't sleeping. Hadn't slept. Partly because she just couldn't stop her mind from ticking over and worrying, and partly because she didn't want to. It was like some weird mix between not being able to sleep and needing to stay awake in case anything happened. And their names just kept on repeating in her head over and over. Henry. Rooney. Carlton. Henry. Rooney. Carlton. And then because other things going on didn't stop just because there was a new crisis, Daxton. Daxton. Daxton. Katy. Daxton. Katy. There was a lot to keep her awake. A lot of reasons she couldn't possibly sleep right now. Umm... did she have to fill out a thingy? Form thingy? She scribbled out her name and stuff, her handwriting just a little bit sloppier than usual. Dizzy. Quote:
Wait. What was she supposed to do with.... oh there. In the thingy. In the thingy box thing. Char headed over there and put the form in the slot and then wound her way over to the wooden bench. She'd just sit for a moment. With her head between her knees. |
Quote:
River slowed down as he approached the threshold, and quietly sat down beside the blonde Gryffindor. "Miss Kettleburn?" Was she...asleep? Or...did someone cursed her face? |
Quote:
Uh... why was she here again? Charlotte's brow furrowed. Oh that's right. Right. "Hi Healer Reed, I just wondered..... if you had a potion I could take... that would um... make m.....me a little more... awake. Please." People she cared about were missing, but she was brave, and holding up fine, and needed to be ready to... to... do whatever she might be needed to do. Anything. More searching. Something. |
Quote:
And why was she asking for an awakening potion when she clearly needed sleep? Was her lack of snooze time because of her OWLs coming up, or was it because of something else? Most of the fifth years he knew brewed their own awakening potion to get more of their revisions done, and River had faith in Charlotte that she can very well brew the potion herself, considering that it was simple and basic for a fifth year. Huh. For some odd reason, River could picture her Healer uncle, Kieran Toussaint standing behind Charlotte, shaking his head at him. Yep. Things didn't feel right around here. "Awake for what, Miss Kettleburn?" Though River knew of the portal, and the three boys missing for days, the Healer wasn't aware of Charlotte's friendship with them. |
A large silver lynx sprinted into the hospital wings check in area and stopped in front of Healer Reed. In Laurel Vance's feminine voice it said in clear tones. "The three boys; Rooney, Carlton and Henry have finally come out of the portal. They are being escorted to the hospital wing by Professor Myers. They are all in bad shape." Message delivered the silver lynx disolved and was gone. |
Quote:
It was possible for about six seconds there, Charlotte completely zoned out, fell asleep even. Micro sleep if that was even possible. Not that she noticed. But the healer was asking a question no and didn't he understand? Didn't he? She couldn't sleep. Literally couldn't but also figuratively couldn't. "For when they come back. They're my friends...sir.. All of them, and I was there when Henry d-dis-disappeared. Couldn't find him any--" Quote:
--Charlotte stopped short at the sudden interruption. A patronus. She gasped. They were okay?!?!! But what did bad shape mean? After so long being gone... She stood up in a rush, and then promptly toppled over. Fainting. How inconvenient. |

River remained silent as he composed his next words carefully, considering that he was about to negotiate with a Gryffindor. They just don't listen most of the time, do they? Charlotte had been talking, only to be interrupted by a patronus. River had to memorize so many names in school that it proved hard for him to know their patronuses too. The voice belonged to a colleague however, and his attention immediately zeroed-in on the message. As soon as the lynx was gone, his hand immediately clasped on Charlotte's arm in the hopes of stopping her from going to the sixth floor corridor. She was not going anywhere because she needed rest. However, it seemed that Charlotte wasn't going anywhere because her sudden dead weight pulled River to his feet, and caught her before her face could kiss the ground. "For Merlin's sake, Charlotte!" Yes, her uncle will skin him alive if any more trouble came to her. In one swift movement, River scooped her up in his arms and immediately booked her a bed. OOC: Post away in Bed 3! |
we got dem bois Merlins soggy socks. Merlin's *INSERT COLORFUL WORDS ABOUT THE MINISTRY HERE* because Paul Myers was NOT HAPPY right now. He was irritated, and he had FINALLY gotten the boys here. AWAAAAAY from that chaos. He should have just grabbed them and ran-----but yeah, that wasn't allowed. "Healer-----we're here. Finally. After the zoo that is Ministry arrival at Hogwarts--" he said, panting slightly because Paul had practically jogged here. No business being here, even if Regina had asked them. Hmph. Feathers = ruffled. |
*gives everyone a chance to post here first before we move on!* Quote:
If Paul lost it back at the sixth-floor corridor, River too was on the edge of snapping. The boys had been missing for the past five days, and apparently, they took their own sweet time to get to him. With his jaw clenched, and right hand balled into a fist, River was a step away from storming the portal to take in the boys himself. The moment the Healer man heard Paul's voice, he immediately sprang into action, leaving his annoyance behind as he peeled away from the wall. He could see that the boys were a mess...especially Rooney and Carlton. Oh, Master Lewis. You were so wrong about that monster being friendly. And wait what? Ministry was here. River looked at Paul with the most disapproving look as he realized that it prevented them to reach him in a timely manner. Without a word he got back to examining each of the boys. "Deputy Headmaster, thank you for bringing them to me." River said as soon as he found his calm once more. "However, I will not have any Ministry personnel...or anyone except you and the Headmistress to come near these boys. For now." River's voice was stern and full of command. His turf, his rules. |
Henry had no trouble keeping up with Professor Paul and the other two boys. He just wanted this ordeal to be over, even if he didn't know what that meant or how to make it happen. The hospital wing briefly sounded like a refuge away from all the questions and the staring eyes and the poking fingers... but... what if Healer Reed wanted to do the same? And as tired as he was, Henry was not sure he wanted to sleep. He was certain that monster was just waiting for him under his eyelids. Henry didn't know what he wanted right now, and many things weren't making sense, but he dutifully followed the professor into the hospital wing. His eyes found the healer as he rushed to them, and he paused, looking back and forth between the healer and the professor. "I.. need to.. sit down," he said quietly, probably not loud enough for anyone to hear over the other talking. He needed a lot of things maybe, but right now he needed to find a seat or he wouldn't be on his feet much longer anyway. |
After throwing up TWICE, Rooney was definitely a little unsteady on his feet making the walk from the portal to the Hospital Wing. His feet dragged and he even stumbled against one of the other boys a few times. He didn't know if his head was swimming with thoughts about everything, or if he was on the verge of some sort of breakdown. Either way, Roo wanted to get to where they wanted to go and sit in quiet. He was craving the quiet... and no attention... Oh, how he wished to be living in a bubble right now. As they were greeted by the Healer, Rooney leaned against a nearby wall and pressed his face into his hands taking deep breaths. "I really don't feel well, Sirs..." And most definitely not up to talking much more than he already was. He wanted his Mum... |
<3 Carlton still hadn't said a word, he just limped after the others. He constantly heard the dark growling from the monster which was why he still had his hands covering his ears in an attempt to shut out the noise. He expected to see the monster everywhere and froze before every corner only to be guided around it by one of the others. He felt better without the crowd and all the strangers reaching for him but his breathing was still quick and uneven, eyes still wide and flickering around him. Walking down the three floors to the hospital wing took forever. He was stopping every few seconds, as if he'd forgotten where they were going or where they were. And then they were at the hospital wing, met by the healer. Carlton pressed his hands harder against his ears. If he could squeeze his eyes shut without seeing the monster in front of him, he would have. Panic rose in his chest as Henry went to sit down and Rooney stumbled to lean against a wall. For a second Carlton thought they'd leave him. He opened his mouth to say something, but instead began to draw in sharp breaths in hyperventilation. It felt like a knife went through his chest as his heart sped up and a heavy pressure over his chest prevented him from breathing normally. He couldn't move, he couldn't close his eyes, couldn't remove his hands from his ears and now he couldn't breathe either as the panic refused to leave him. |
Words of logic and sound reason were welcome to the Herbologist. River Reed, bless him. Paul Myers pursed his lips and watched each of the boys out of the corner of his eye. "Thank you, Healer Reed." Paul knelt down in front of Carlton. He put his hands on top of Carlton's that were atop his ears. The heavy breathing came as a concert to Paul, though, because he knew...this was a panic attack. "Carlton, look at me," he said in a clear, but soft voice. "Point of focus--" he held up one finger in front of Carlton's face. "Look at me. We're right here, in the Hospital Wing." He hadn't handled a panic attack in a long time. He hoped he wasn't doing more harm than good. "I will not let any monster...or whatever it was....take you all again. I promise." He put his hand on his heart. "It probably much rather consume me, anyways. I'm kind of fat," he smiled a little. Maybe it was an ill timed joke. But Paul Myers had many of those. How were Rooney and Henry doing? Paul grabbed his wand and shot another patronus, his second one today, to find Henry's mother, wherever she may be. Her son was back, and she deserved to know. |
Due to their current situation, River gave Paul a curt nod and allowed him to take care of Carlton first as he took measured steps towards Rooney, and gently guided him towards the wooden bench and coaxed him to sit down. He did the same for Henry by gently grasping the boy by his arms, and had him sit next to the Ravenclaw Prefect. River was careful not to make sudden movements and kept his voice soft and low. "For the record, I will not be asking any questions about what happened in there, but if you feel pain or any physical discomfort after your initial treatment tell me right away." he started as he crouched in front of the boys, and made eye contact. "From this point forward, I will also have to ask you to trust me." Going through that kind of ordeal would really mess up a student's dependence on their adult counterparts and he wasn't going to blame them. River procured two phials of calming draught and gave it to the older boys. "These calming draughts should help you find your centre. Now is the best time to find your focus..." The Healer stood up and gave both boys a firm squeeze on the shoulder and moved to where Paul and Carlton was. He'd seen that kind of behaviour before, and he feared that the Slytherin might take years to overcome it. But then again, he has to try his best for the child's sake. "Paul," River placed a hand on Paul's shoulder to get his attention, "We're ready to move. If you could please help me escort Carlton inside?" he asked the man as softly and gently as possible so as not to startle Carlton. He quietly stepped back to return to the two boys, and once they were done downing their Calming Draughts, River helped them to their feet and lead them to the Quarantined Section of the Hospital Wing. OOC: You can now post in the Quarantined Section! |
Henry was still doing his best to hold it together and ignored the dull churning in his stomach that was slowly growing more apparent. And although he really needed that seat right now, he couldn't help but to watch Professor Paul tend to Carlton as Healer Reed helped him to the bench. He needed to know that the first year was alright, but his eyes flickered back to the healer as he spoke and he blinked a few times as the man was starting to get blurry. Calming draught? Henry tried to focus on the vial for a moment before taking it from the healer. He hoped it would take these new feelings of remaining panic and anxiety away, and he quickly downed the potion. Whether it was a strong dose or the fact that he hadn't eaten in 24 hours or so (or five days?), the draught seemed to take effect fast. He felt vaguely nauseous, but... fuzzy. The other feelings were still there, but somehow under the surface. Less intense. His head was swimming and so was his vision when he was pulled to his feet again. Wait... he had just sat down. Where were they going? He gave what appeared to be a fuzzy-at-the-edges Rooney a confused look as they were being taken further into the hospital wing, then looked up at the healer. "I don't want to be alone," he admitted quietly. He certainly didn't want the chaotic crowd back on the sixth floor, but he wasn't sure he could handle his thoughts alone, even if they seemed to be just beyond his reach for the moment. He didn't want them all to be split up right now. And where was Carlton? He was coming with them, right? |
On the way to the Hospital Wing, Cosgrach had enough time to consider things:
Oh, by the way? This portal thing had been around long enough to LET THE MINISTRY KNOW. To say Cosgrach was fuming would be the biggest understatement in the world. The Ministry was a zoo, merely because Hogwarts was actually a jungle with brainless people pretending to be concerned for their students' lives. Try me, Cosgrach told to the Healer in his head as his eyes shot imaginary fire, try to shoo me away. "I am going to observe these kids, because I am a potioneer and you wouldn't believe it, but this substance might show its effects just now for me to note and hopefully identify what it is." He addressed Mr. Deputy, since the Healer was gone. His tone was cold and stern. He had never been this angry in his whole life, actually, and he was almost challenging the other man to shoo him, to conjure one of his cool shields now. Cosgrach held back from roasting Mr. Deputy just here though, because the kids could hear it. And Cosgrach still respected the man enough to wait for a split second for his approval - just. "Before you try to use your wand on me, I should also say I won't ask questions until they are able to talk, I'm not that ruthless." So? |
Quote:
"They might not be able to talk for a week. I hope you've packed a lunch, sir," Paul responded coolly. "You seem to care more for your potential potions conquests over their wellbeing." Paul wouldn't raise his voice here, in the infirmary. "As a former professor here, I thought you would put their wellbeing above everything else, even potions," Again, a cold tone from the former Ravenclaw. "If you think your expertise outweighs River's, by all means, stay." He had stood up in front of Carlton at this point, a hand on the back of the boy's head. "But you better believe, Cossy," yes, he used the nickname, "You better treat these boys how you would have when you were still their professor. Still their protector, still in charge of their safety and concern." And yes, Paul was keeping his hand on his wand. "At the end of the day, you have respect until you overstep their boundaries. Which right now...could be everyone. That is all I am trying to say." |
relocating, yo Rooney didn't have reason to question, or even the energy and so he drank the liquid from the vial given to him. His attention was still darting between the Healer, Professor Myers, Carlton and Henry..but he could at least linger it for longer than he had before. But before he could identify single thoughts in his brain, they were being guided inside the Hospital Wing properly...something which he was already glad for...until he saw one of the stupid interfering people had followed them. As he walked away, he watched Carlton carefully, to make sure that nothing.....absolutely NOTHING happened to that boy. Because he still had his hand on his wand and if he needed to, he'd have sent a hex at that man. Ex-professor or not. No one touched the kid. Luckily, or unluckily actually, he was soon at a place where he could not see the happenings back there. |
Coming from the QR to fetch Carlton! River was starting to lose his cool as he stormed out of the Quarantined Room to fetch the boy who took MOST of the impact of the ordeal. SERIOUSLY? Time and again, the Healer man reminded himself that he was in a critical position as they all deal with this craziness. All boys were very vulnerable to ANY form of human contact, and amongst all of them, HE was the only one authorised to directly attend to the survivors. He really couldn't care less about other things, considering that his top priority was the safety of EVERY ONE'S health and well-being. River heard most of the conversation going on between Paul and the Ministry personnel, and the man had to grasp on whatever is left of his patience. While the two were busy conversing, River made his presence known by clearing his throat and shot Paul a look. A look of urgency, that he really should take Carlton in now. Without waiting for another word, River faced the young boy and encouraged him to move along. "Carlton? Let's get you settled inside. Henry and Rooney are waiting for you." That should do the trick, yes? River gently took the boy by the shoulders, spun him around and whisked him away from all the adult madness going on. Alright, gentlemen. You now have the floor to argue. |
SPOILER!!: Papa Plant and MMM (Mystery Ministry Man) Why couldn't he get enough air down his lungs? Carlton's hyperventilation increased in order to breathe which only made the pressure over his chest hurt more. His eyes flickered in panic for a few seconds, didn't anyone else notice the sudden lack of oxygen in the room? Professor Myers was suddenly in front of him. Point of focus. Carlton looked at his professor even though the shape of the man was out of focus and blurry. They were in the hospital wing, and they were safe. But Carlton had been taken by the portal when he was with a professor, he was worried that if the monster wanted to take them, no professor would be able to stop it. He didn't tell professor Myers this and quickly pushed the thought away. His racing heart had slowed down and his breathing was almost back to normal. Inhale and a long shaky exhale. What his professor said next made his eyes fill up and bottom lip pout out to stop him from crying. He didn't want the monster to take anyone, especially not Papa Plant. Carlton shook his head, lip wibbling. And then a stranger walked into the hospital wing and Carlton gave him a suspicious look. Had he followed them from the sixth floor? Shoo. Go away. Shoo. SPOILER!!: Healer Reed Carlton stood wide-eyed watching the exchange between the two men before the healer appeared and Carlton let out a relieved sigh. The tension between the adults had made him uneasy and he didn't want anything else than join Henry and Rooney again. Quickly he left his safe spot behind professor Myers legs and ran over to healer Reed. He grabbed a handful of the healer's robes in his hand, to make sure he wasn't being left alone, cast a glance over his shoulder at his professor and followed the healer to the quarantined area. |
"I actually did," Cosgrach said in a low voice, but harshly. And then the world stopped for a moment, every drop of blood rushed to his head, and Cosgrach bit down his lower lip so hard that he tasted blood. "My potions conquest?" he asked in a deadly tone, "we are speaking about my potions conquests, when the school have waited for five bloody days to call for help?" He took a deep breath, because this was a waste of time. The little amount of respect he had for Poncho was gone. "You bet I do," he said as an answer to whether his knowledge outweighted some new Healer's, "and for your information, I'm precisely here because I care for these kids more than the current staff does. Five days, five days you left them inside and did what, watered your daisies?" He wasn't even going to answer to the rest, actually. But Poncho could rest assured this conversation was not over. Who was the new Headmistress, again? Why did Anastasia even leave this school? Turning his back, he looked for the Healer to finish moving the boys to the quarantine... the man never reappeared. Cosgrach guessed he was busy dealing with the kids, and he had this terrible headache... a voice inside him told to leave. This wasn't even his school anymore, was it? And no one wanted him here. He thought, even if one of those kids died... it wouldn't be his responsibility at all. He'd come here, absolutely no one cooperated, so he left. Clean like that. Even his Department Head saw the stupidly aggressive tone here, they were almost called as if to be able to say, 'Well, we did call the Ministry, y'know?' if this thing was investigated, 'we did call them, but THEY were the uncooperative ones.' Sure, Cosgrach would have a heavy conscience, but also he wouldn't. Neither Poncho, nor Healer did anything at all for the kids to trust him (on the contrary), and now they were saying the kids didn't want him. Whatever it was, he didn't care at this point. They weren't his kids, this wasn't his school, they clearly didn't want his expertise, and if this went onto a trial, he was as clean as a white sheet. Once his mind was made up, he left. Next time? He'd remember this, and wouldn't move a finger if the whole school was burning down with everyone inside. |
Realising that there were some processes to be followed, she filled out the form quickly and dropped it in through the niche indicated. Hopefully River would be there soon. Quote:

Not having Marshmallow around helped Rose to feel calmer. Not that she was SCARED of the crup, she just didn't want the creature barking at her and trying to get another bite in. On top of the fact that it wasn't nice to be bitten, Kay didn't need to feel even worse when it came to her pet's behavior. "Seriously it's okay, Kay. I'll just get treated quickly and then we will be out of here. I'll make sure not to come close to Marshmallow if she doesn't like me." Which clearly seemed to be the case. Ah well. All she Rosalyn could do was shrug this entire thing off and then take a seat. She already had a form done thanks to Kay, so all they needed now was for River to arrive and make sure that she didn't end up getting an infection or something. |
Quote:
Quote:
River crouched and inspected Rose's boot with one hand, "I can say that crup has good chompers." he said as he carefully let go of Rosalyn's foot. "Alright, let's get you healed." the Healer stood up to his full height and offered his arm to Rose. OOC: You can now post in Bed 2! |
Abey had sort of lost track of how many times he had stayed in his dormitory instead of going to his classes, but he was definitely not as stupid as he sometimes sounded and he knew that - by now - all of his continued 'illnesses' were beginning to look suspicious, especially the fact that they mostly seemed to fall on the same days, and the same slots of his timetable. He had so far avoided going to the Hospital Wing (unless he actually needed to when he was actually sick) despite knowing that his professors might check he'd gone there being that he claimed to be unwell so often, Healer Man Reed was actually clearly very smart and Abey was certain he'd be caught out straight away. But NOW he needed to make his lie as believable as he could, which meant... ACTING. Well, acting, and a Fever Fudge, which actually made the acting part almost unnecessary, as Abey had found out when he tested the Skiving Snackbox. But still, dramatics. Having eaten the Fudge up in his empty dormitory where nobody could have seen - and immediately feeling terrible and like he didn't actually want to go anywhere actually - Abey had practically stumbled his way to the Hospital Wing. The second he got there, he noticed the forms, and DIED A LITTLE ON THE INSIDE. Schoolwork? For being unwell? Unfair. Abey was tempted to ignore it, but... well, it's placement made it seem pretty important, so he moved forward to look at the forms. The fever made it even harder to read words than usual; Abey couldn't focus for the life of him and it frustrated him almost to tears. Was his plan foiled ALREADY??? Maybe he should have got Derf to come with him, but he lived ALL THE WAY down on the basement level and wasn't even always there, so it was difficult to find his villain at times. Sigh. Well... Abey did his best. Having filled out the form clumsily - and not even ATTEMPTING to spell 'Gryffindor' or even his own name, and still getting some of the letters he did write all back to front - he turned the form into where it looked like it was supposed to go, then went to finally flop onto one of those benches. No sitting. Lying down was better, on his front, one arm flopping over the side to the floor. He also actually found himself shaking slightly, partly from the shivering, and partly from anxiety about whether this would even work. Pleeeeeease work. Quote:

SPOILER!!: Abester! River was at the Great Hall enjoying the silence, while he ate his brunch. It had been days since the lost boys were discharged from his care, and he too slowly eased into his normal routine. Obviously, his body clock needed a bit more adjusting, considering that he woke up late, again, and missed breakfast with his colleagues. Not that he had a problem sleeping in, but it was important to be up before everyone did, given that emergencies can happen anytime. Thank Merlin that the first patient of the day was considerate enough to let him finish his meal first before-- Huh? River squinted his eyes for a second, and let out a long sigh as the gears of his brain started to make sense of certain things. It wasn't a set of Hieroglyphs, but letters flipped here and there. If the lost boys didn't happen, he would've occupied himself in contacting the relatives of this patient to ask if they were aware of this boy's special condition. Abey's meltdown from two months ago was still fresh in his memory, and of course, River did not miss out on making a note in Abey's medical record. If only the school's hospital wing wasn't constantly attacked by sick (or pretending to be) students, he would've made a beeline towards the Gryffindor tower and ask Abey about his dyslexia. Apparently, the universe has its own weird way of conjuring events that opened opportunities. This one was no exception. Jamming the form in his pocket, River stood up from his chair and quickly made his way to the hospital wing. He picked up his pace as soon as he saw the boy waiting for him...face down. "Master Botros?" River made his presence known as he gently placed his hand on Abey's back and noted his shaking. "Are you too weak to go inside?" the Healer asked as he removed his robe and wrapped it around Abey to keep him warm. It wasn't the season to get a fever, and yet there he was looking weak and helpless. |
SPOILER!!: Reedster :3 As cold as Abey felt, the surface off the bench against his face felt even colder, but he had no energy to do anything about it. Just laying down had been both the best idea in the world, and also the worlds biggest mistake actually, because perhaps now he would never move again. EVER. It certainly felt that way. Healer Man Reed's voice seemed to come out of NOWHERE, and perhaps any other time, Abey might have been MEGA SPOOKED and been very dramatic in his expression of surprise (he was all about that life actually), but had no energy for that right now. He only actually had enough energy for just the tiniest amount of guilt over the fact that the Healer Man was being nice and wrapping his robe around him even though Abey was sort of actually pretending but not ACTUALLY pretending because actually he did feel bad after all. "M'just tired. And cold." ........ "And sick." Very important to add that. Also, the pathetic and sickly whine Abey spoke with came quite naturally. That was probably the best part about those Snackboxes; they made acting completely unnecessary. |
Quote:
River sighed as he saw the young boy's face, and was quite surprised at the dead weight he felt the moment he helped him sit up. The man cannot help but feel that there's more to Abey's fever. But...what was it? "I can see that, Master Botros." River managed another friendly and comforting grin as he wrapped his robe tighter on the smaller frame of Abey. "It's a good thing your school has employed a healer who has a strong back." Without another word, River scooped up the boy in his arms and headed for the main infirmary. "Let's get you healed then."
