SEMINAR 1: Yeti Challenge :: The Abominable Snow Run
An hour and a half after the school's lunch break, Healer Reed who was decked in his full winter gear paced back and forth at the Entrance Hall with his hands tucked behind him as he waited for the students to arrive. As he reviewed the activity in his mind, he could not help but grin once in a while, thinking that he never imagined that he will be back in Hogwarts to teach, and execute health and wellness activities.
While the man paced back and forth, Roscoe and Bumi, his Newfoundland dogs sat directly in front of the colossal doors and watched their master, waiting for his command. Both are wearing their scarves and first aide jackets, ready to take part in the activity.
If you’re here for the Yeti Challenge, come on down in your full winter gear and wait along with the others. We will start the activity shortly.
OOC: Welcome to the first Healer’s Health and Wellness Program! Post your charries joining Healer Reed and we will start in approximately 12-24 Hours from this post. Please read our RULES, before posting. Thank you!
GIANT SNOW STAIRS: Crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch. The run towards the first obstacle isn’t an easy one. The snow on the ground is quite thick, burying your feet, ankle deep! But just a few metres ahead, you see giant snowballs piled up one after another, making it a decent snow mound. Climb it and go on to your next challenge;
INTO THE YETI’S HOLE!: Ahead are four rows of low triangular trusses, each stretching about 4 meters in length. Get on all fours and crawl your way through to the other end!;
GET A SNOW TUBE AND DRAG UP THE CHRISTMAS TREE: To get to the next course, you have to drag a miniature Christmas tree up a smaller mound! Trust me on this. You need the extra altitude!
SLIP AND SLIDE SNOW TUBING!: Fasten your Christmas Trees, ride the snow tube, and slide your way down to the starting point! A 500 meter snow slide should be enough to keep the blood pumping!
TEA AND COCOA!: Once you reach the end, you will see that a table has been set up for you to take you pick: TEA or HOT CHOCOLOATE? Oh and there’s a couple of zinc lozenges too. Best to get a few if you feel like you’re going to have a cold!

So...what was the point of the trees?
He was...just going to leave his riiiiiiight where Bumi had dropped it then because...no thank you.
OH MEDALS! Feeling very much like a niffler, the first year eagerly accepted his and threw it on around his neck right away. He was still a bit miffed about the whole not getting to meet an actual yeti and this was more of a sad consolation prize than the real thing...but he supposed he could deal...and maybe beg Professor Hirsch about letting them try their wands against REAL yetis sometime.
Derf was just about to head back to the castle as instructed, when an older Gryffindor (another blonde!) looked like she had just swallowed a slug. Or a whole bunch of slugs. Which was why he was reaching into his pocket for a chocolate frog - this time he wouldn't beg to get to keep the card because MAYBE there was a witch or wizard on there that she would fancy and help make her feel better - and tugged on the Healer's coat to get his attention.
"For when s-s-she feels-s-s better," he explained, presenting the frog to him. Because chocolate had magical healing properties when you were feeling down...or if there were dementors around.

....gurgle....
Moisture gathering in her eyes, as it does when you're throwing up, Liv hastily pushed her blonde fringe back; grateful again that she'd had the presence of mind to cut all her hair off. This would've been much more frustrating than it already was.... Considering she had to rip the scarf from about her neck....for fear of getting vomit on it. It'd been a gift from her mother a few years ago, and was silk. Depressed and broken, or not, Liv STILL cared very much about her accessories.
....gurgle....gurgle....
By the time the Healer had made it over, she was in the beginning stages of dryheaving; her vision blurred and mind floating. Healer Reed was asking her something, but it was difficult to zero in on his words... Trying to focus, the blonde blinked forcibly, causing the gathered tears to leak down her flushed cheeks. There was other people there... She thought she heard a much younger voice. "........" The words wouldn't come, but....then again, she suddenly found herself unable to do anything other than close her eyes. It was too bright with the sun reflecting off the snow; too bright and overwhelming to her currently mushy brain.
...and Olivia had fainted.

Because he SOUNDED like he was okay.
The tube scooted to a stop, mostly thanks to the trees that between the two of them kind of worked like a little anchor, and Charlotte, with shaky legs, got off the tube, right in time to hear they were getting medals! COOL! It was nice that she didn't miss out on that just for not being first. And she could really go for some of that cocoa right about now!
"Thanks Healer Reed!" Charlotte said, upon taking hers. Mmm. She had ice and snow caked on her though. Char got her wand out and busied herself with a few quick spells, just to make things a little more comfy. And she MIGHT'VE gone and got that cocoa, but then THINGS happened.
SPOILER!!: Liv things
Now, Olivia Phillips was someone Char had called friend since they were ickles. They were neighbours, housemates, and a whole ton more, but in recent times the younger girl had definitely been avoiding Charlotte, she was sure. It hurt, feeling like a friend didn't really want to be friends with you anymore, especially when there were Roo things involved, but Charlotte was hardly going to be someone who would EVER turn away when a friend (?) was in trouble. If it wasn't for Carlton going over there, it was possible that Char might not even have noticed, but as it was, that was exactly where her attention had gone.
"Olivia!" Char's gasp wasn't very loud when she saw the younger blonde go down, but her reflexes were good and her wand was already out, so she cast a cushioning charm at the ground right where Liv was falling - the spell blossoming up to hopefully cushion her fall.
She tore over there, skidding slightly on an icy patch before coming to a stop, anxiously. Thank Merlin the healer was right here!!!
Feeling a tug on his sleeve, River took a step back, and turned to see Derfael offering him a chocolate frog. An appreciative smile was given to the young boy and gestured him to go back to the group, and head inside the castle like everyone else. “I will, young sir. Now go.” The Healer slipped the box in his pocket, and turned to Olivia as soon as she started retching. The dryheaving already gave away the fact that she had been running on an empty stomach. “Merlin, help me.” A thousand thoughts ran through River’s head the moment Olivia closed her eyes.
River was quick to catch the young Gryffindor, and the both of them landed on soft ground, given that the man did not expect the sudden dead weight on his arms. “Olivia? Olivia, can you hear me?” the Healer shifted his position as he carefully cradled Olivia in one arm, while his other hand searched for her pulse. River was quite alarmed that her heartbeat was rather weak, and her breathing was shallow. The Healer quickly conjured a thick blue blanket, and wrapped Olivia with it to keep her from going into further shock caused by the cold temperature. “Exhaustion, I believe Master Lewis.” Exhausted from what, was the more appropriate question, but there was no way he’d encourage the young Slytherin to go further with his querries. “Now, if you could hold on to Olivia's medal for her, I would highly appreciate it.” River gave Carlton a brief glance and a grin before turning to the other Gryffindor. “Miss Kettleburn, if you see Art—Professor Newton, please let him know that I have Olivia under my care. I will personally escort her back to your Common Room as soon as she’s healed.” Which...hopefully, will not take him days.
With a curt nod to the students, River wasted no time and rushed towards the Hospital Wing with Olivia cradled in his arms like an oversized baby.
