Banner made by MuggleDinosaur The first thing you notice upon walking inside Professor Newton's office is that the entire back wall is filled with bookcases. These books cover a wide range of topics from history to art and anything in between as she has many interests. Any student is welcome to read from them so long as they take proper care of them. There are also a few muggle paintings scattered around the room. A plate of cookies is always kept on her desk in case any of her visitors get hungry and there is a tea service as well. A couple comfy chairs are situated in front of the desk for students to sit on while they visit. | |

Rosalyn had to clear a few things up after the lesson ended, but within a few minutes she was walking into her office. Juno hadn't been kept waiting long.
It was nice to see the interest the girl was taking in her book collection; it was what that Rosalyn had been working on for a long time. "You know, you can borrow books from me any time you want to." All she needed to do was ask. Even if history wasn't the most interesting subject in a lot of people's opinion, there was a wide variety of subjects to choose from, and Juno might very well find one that she enjoyed reading up on. |

Juno jumped a little when Professor Newton started speaking. She hadn't heard her come into the office. She turned and smiled, with a little bit of a blush on her cheeks. "I've just never seen so many books, and such old ones too. It is an amazing collection." She said with a smile, walking from behind the desk to the front where the extra chairs were.
Juno took a deep breath, looking down at her hands willing the tears to not form, "Professor, I am so sorry. I shouldn't have been writing Leon in class. I know it's against the rules...just all this portal and monster stuff, I barely ever get to see him anymore..." she trailed off, tears streaking down her face. She was more than just a little stressed out.

Rosalyn hadn't meant to scare Juno. "Sorry about that." Really she should remember that speaking out of nowhere could startle people. At least it seemed that her book collection had made quite the impression. "Oh, yes. Some of those I have had from when I was younger, some are ones that my family gave to me, and others I got at book stores... some second hand." That was where a lot of the older ones came from. The ones that hadn't been from her grandparents at least.
It didn't take long for them to get to the true reason for the visit, however, and it made Rosalyn sad to see her student so close to tears. That was not going to change her view on what happened though. Circumstances aside, she was a Prefect and an example for the other students - especially the younger ones. "I understand that. I know what it's like to not see your boyfriend much." A few of her past relationships were like that. "I assume you two are going to do the long distance thing next term?" A valid question, as some couples chose to break up instead, despite loving each other. | |

Juno gave her a small smile. "It's ok, I should have expected it." Juno loved to read but not necessarily history stuff. Though she obviously found anything about fighting interesting. She was more of a fiction reader than a non-fiction reader. But she knew history could be really compelling. "That's amazing. Our library at home is kind of the same, though your books are much older." She meant it as a compliment. old books were hard to find.
Why was Juno so emotional lately? This was completely unlike her. She was the solid one that never cried. Esme was the crier. But maybe a little of her sister was rubbing off on her. Esme was sure a lot stronger these days. Juno appreciated that the Professor understood her. It was nice to have adults to talk to when her parents were so far away."Yes. He is a seventh year. I'm scared...," she paused for a moment to swallow the lump in her throat, "...that he is going to change his mind and see that I am not worth it or find another girl that would be easier for him to be with because she is right there and I'm...not." She took a ragged breath and another tear streamed down her face. She hadn't even talked to Esme about all of this yet, let alone admitted to herself that she was feeling this way.
But that wasn't why she was here. She needed to say her peace about what happened in class. "I don't expect anything. I want you to know that. I wholeheartedly agree with you. I shouldn't have been passing notes, especially since I am a prefect. I deserve what ever punishment you see fit." She looked down at her hands, that were bunched in a nervous ball.

Rosalyn returned the small smile. At least no harm had been done. "Do you have a big library? I wish I had one, but I just don't have the space." At the moment she was living in an apartment, and that meant that there wasn't a lot of rooms for books. One day she hoped to have a proper library. "What kind of books do you like to read?" She assumed the comment about old books was a compliment, and her smile grew wider.

Punishment? Rosalyn was confused. "There is no punishment... this time. But if it happens again, I WILL be docking points from both you and Mr Kennedy." As the school was in a state of totmoil, she was being rather lenient; next time she wouldn't be, however. Surely that wouldn't be an issue since Juno was a smart girl. "I know it's difficult, but I feel like you two can get through this if you are determined to. Lots of people manage it." Just trying to give a little support and encouragement. | |

With how huge their house was, and their house in France. They had tons of books. "Oh, yes. My parents are very avid readers and have a very large collection of books. I have a good little collection myself." She said with a grin. She hoped to have as many books as her parents had on day. "Oh, I mostly like fiction. Muggle fiction, too. I also love graphic novels and comics." She didn't want to tell the professor she wasn't a huge fan of history books, but there were some historical fiction novels she really enjoyed.
Immense relief rushed through her. She was so happy that there wasn't going to be any punishments that she or Leon had to deal with. "Thank you so much professor. I really appreciate it. I promise it will never happen again." She really meant it. She didn't want herself or anyone else to get into trouble. The only person she would even think about writing a note to other than her sister, was Leon and he wouldn't be here next year for her to write to him anyway. Juno sniffled and wiped her eyes. All this emotional stuff was just not like her at all. "Thank you. I really hope we can. I have never felt like this for anyone before." Not that she had any boyfriends before him but she had had crushes, and they were nothing like this.

It was always nice to hear about parents passing their love of reading down to their children. It seemed that Juno's parents had definitely done a good job of that. Rosalyn was rather impressed. "I like those genres too. I like a lot of different genres. Of course I read a lot of history books, but those aren't the only ones I enjoy." Which might be surprising to some students who felt that she probably didn't read anything BESIDES historical books and novels. "Does your sister have the same love of reading?" The two girls seemed to be quite different personality-wise, but it would be great if they both loved reading.
"Of course. I believe you won't." Seeing Juno wiping her eyes, she offered the girl a tissue box. It always made her sad to see her students upset. "Young love is wonderful, but can also be upsetting. I take it that this is your first boyfriend?" Rosalyn was sure that Juno and Leon would find a way to make it work if they were THAT serious about each other. | |
