The time was approaching for yet another lesson and Kaysha was quite ready. It was a brilliant morning, the sunshine was streaming through windows and she was in an even better mood than usual. She already had her classroom squeakily cleaned and today, she opted to give a hint of what her lesson would be. Wasn’t that strange as this was something she usually didn’t do? Anyway, Kay was at the doorway of the classroom ready to greet you! She does so and when you enter to take a seat, you’ll see a short list on her white board:

ANYWAYS...
"Derf! Brent! Let's do a group of three!" he suggested happily as he bounded up to them. Well, it wasn't really a SUGGESTION. Kane was joining their group whether they wanted him or not. Hehe.

He was just about to ask Derf what it was he wanted to play, when the little bro spoke up, too.
"Let's do it," Brent agreed, glad to see Kane. So he DID still exist. "Dude, where have you been lately? Our daily schedules must be nothing alike." It felt like he never saw the little bro, and even when they did share a class, there were so many people that it was hard to find just one of them.
"So did any of you have an idea about what you want to play?" he asked. "What about Twister? That's technically a board game, since you have that little spinner." He shrugged. It was a long shot, but it was his idea. He welcomed ideas from Derf and Kane, too.
OH KANE!
Not bitter at all about losing that duel, nope. Okay maybe a little...but it had been FUN and a GREAT learning experience for him to duel an older student. He was still tickled that Professor Hirsch felt that he was capable enough to handle dueling someone older given how, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeer, basic his wandwork level was.
"Dude, Twis-s-ster, dude, sure, dude," Derf nodded, trying his best to fit in with the older boys. "I've never played it before ................... dude."

He had got up to have a look at the selection of games available, turning to see how most of the class had already grouped together. Perhaps he shouldn't have been looking for so long...
Ah, scrabble! Rooney turned at the question and manoeuvred his way towards Leon. "I'll scrabble with you."

Oh, Scrabble! Juno hadn't played this game in a really long time! She was actually pretty good at it too! When Leon asked her if she would play, she answered his smile with a grin. "Of course, Cap." She gave him a quick wink when...
...Rooney came over! Awesome! It was always more fun with more people. "Hey Rooney! Please, join us!" Juno pulled up a chair for him and patted the seat. She always liked Rooney. he was a great guy,
and unfortunately had been through far more this year than she dared think about.
"So...how many letters do we get again?" It really had been a long time since she had played this game.
Leon smiled up at Rooney as he made his way over to him and he grinned, "Soinds good! The more the merrier. " He said with a warm smile as he started to set everything up.. he placed the board on the desk and got out the little letter holders and passed them around..
He handed one to Juno and smiled at her. "Have you played before? " He asked her as he took out the bag of letters and mixed them around..
"I think we get seven? " He asked as he glanced at Rooney to make sure he was right.. "And we draw a letter to see who goes first. " At least that's how he used to play, some people had different rules!
She listened and nodded to the professor. It seemed kind of messy, but at the same time quite fun. Though she assumed it wasn't what they were going to do today so she just kept quiet and listened to the other games. When it was time to go play them Nat looked around not sure at all what to do or who to play with.
She saw Henry go over to Ace. She hadn't spoke to the boy since the portal and she felt bad for this. His sister would be disappointed in her for not keeping a better eye on him. Getting up she went over and gave a forced small smile. "Mind if I join you?" It really didn't matter where she went she wasn't going to know how to play any of these games. Even with her knowledge on muggles games was not something she had ever done.
"How do you play?"

Rula hadn't played any of these games really - except chess, of course, but more in the form of Wizard's Chess, so she wasn't sure if that counted. Either way, she wasn't going to pick that one to play. It'd probably be more fun to pick something totally new. At least, hopefully. Hopefully it wasn't something long and complicated.
But which one was she going to pick? None of them instantly stood out to her. So...maybe just pick one at random and hope for the best?
Sounded like a plan.
She walked up to the box with all the games in it and grabbed the first one that caught her eye.
Battleship? Well, okay then.
"Anyone want to play this with me?"
Kitty wanted to play Clue - really, she did. It was her favorite board game, and she'd given it as an example when asked about board games. Also, Tenacius was playing it and she'd never played with him before. But Natalia was there too. She'd been doing her best to limit contact with the head girl ever since that disastrous debate at History of Magic, and she wasn't sure what their relationship was at that moment. Even if Natalia wasn't threatening to jinx her so badly people wouldn't recognize her, Kitty still would feel EXTREMELY awkward sitting nearby her to play a game.
Besides, Rula didn't have a partner for Battleship, and Kitty would have felt awfully sorry for her if the class went by and she didn't have a partner. She made up her mind. "Good choice, Tenacius!" she said as she passed by his group, smiling slightly. Then, without bothering to look back, she moved to sit directly in front of Rula.
"I'll play with you," she said cheerfully. "Though I've only played it a few times, so you may have to remind me of the rules."

But then, he had also played sometimes switching out letters for sweets. It was one of the ways he was able to help Brin with her words... to give her something to focus on. As he shrugged a hand through his hair, he adjusted his letter holder to line up straight.
"There should be a rule leaflet in the box. Isn't there always?" Or had Professor Stewart lost it, like so many people did?

Okay
Looking back at the boys she looked at the game again. "Who should I be?" She didn't care really it all looked fun. Chewing her lip looking at the game she tried to think about what Ace said. "So we have to figure out who did it. Okay, sounds easy enough."
Hopefully she wouldn't be to horrible at it she shrugged, "Who goes first?"

Oh, excellent, Kitty was going to be her partner! And she'd played it before, so she'd probably be able to help with the basics at least, even if she hadn't played it in awhile.
"I haven't ever played it, so we can learn it together!" Well, re-learn it in Kitty's case since she had played it before, but it was definitely going to be a learning experience for Rula. So hopefully she hadn't accidentally picked something super complicated.
Pulling open the box, she found the instruction booklet, which was thankfully on top of all the little pieces and parts of this game. "Okay, so..." She opened the booklet, reading over the first few paragraphs. "We open these game box things and put these little ships on one side horizontally and vertically? Aaand then we have to guess where each other's ships are? With the letters and numbers. And we just keep going until one of us loses all our ships. Okay, that doesn't sound too bad!" Thank Merlin she'd picked an easy game. At least, easy to understand. Maybe not easy to win, but that was also good. Games that were easy to win weren't any fun.

Brent grinned at Derf and his usage of the word 'dude'. Derf was a cool little kid. He seemed like the kind that would get a kick out of repeating something like 'dude'. "Alright, little dude," he said, being sure to use the word. "Twister it is." Kane hadn't spoken up and said anything (which was really unusual), so Brent took that as a yes from him. They couldn't have that much time left anyway, so they should probably get started.
Brent headed to the front and found the game for them. Bringing it back, he spread out the mat then held up the little spinner. "So this spinner tells you what to do on the mat. One of us will spin it, and when it's your turn, you position yourself on the mat just like the spinner tells you to," he explained. "Like this." Brent thumped the spinner around until it landed on left hand yellow. "So you'd put your left hand on yellow."
He went on to explain all the directions. When he was done, he gestured for Kane and Derf to get ready. "I'll spin." He thumped the spinner around a second time and announced, "Left foot on green."

Juno grinned. She was actually really excited to play this game. It had been a really long time since she played it. She would have to pick it up again and expand her vocabulary a little more.
Juno smiled and replied, "Oh, yeah. It's been a long time but we used to play this on family night too." She winked at Leon, wondering what it would be like to have family nights with him...
Hiding the slight blush on her cheeks, she pulled out the leaflet Rooney mentioned from the box. She read a little bit and then announced, "Yep! It's seven! You were both right good job." She said with a chuckle. She quickly read through the rules and started reading out what she thought would be important to remember. "Okay, remember there are triple word, double word, triple letter, and double letter squares. Be aware of where you are placing your words so you get the proper amount of points. All words must intersect," she paused to quickly read something, "OH! Also there are two blank tiles that you can use for whatever letter you are missing. "I think that's it. OH...have to be REAL words...not made up ones." She grinned and winked, putting the rules leaflet back into the box.

Cool! He was right, seven letters! Leon handed the letter bag to Rooney so he could pick out his seven letters as Juno read the rules..
Yeah that all sounded familiar, though who was going to go first? "Thanks Jun.. and no made up words? Darn! And here I was hoping Gah! Was gonna fly. " He said with a grin as he picked up the rules and scanned them. "Also, no words that require a Capital letter in them, a hyphen or any prefixes, suffixes or abbreviations. " He nodded as he put down the rules..
"All right Rooney, do you wanna go first? And Jun? Do you wanna keep score?" He asked.. cause he was awful at math things..
"Oh, sure!" And honestly, Charlotte was intrigued. And expected something on the gruesome side.
Fascinating.
"I haven't played any of these things before." Just so she knew? Was that an advantage or disadvantage? Regardless, she was in Kat's hands.
"How do we start?"
"I haven't played this in a long time. I might have to refresh my memory." She laughed a bit, as she took the operation table thingy out of the box. Setting it up was fairly simple. She put the game pieces into the right places where they went. Now that was taken care of she could explain to Char how to play.
She read over the directions, to familiarize herself first. "Okay, now You pick a card and that is the operation you get to do." She picked up a card and seen that it was the broken heart. She picked up the tweezers. " You used these to try to pick up the piece." Like this..... She showed her carefully.....
BUZZZZZ
Katerina jumped slightly and laughed. "That happens if you get to close to the side."

Anyone else may have been put off by working with a couple, especially one that wasn't specifically quiet about their relationship in classes. (Yes, he had been aware enough in History of Magic) But not Rooney. He had been there. His love story with Olivia had been epic, had been loud and he was very aware that it had been in the faces of everyone they had ever came into contact with. He admired relationships like that. Rooney admired those that felt so much that they had to share it with others. Those were the kinds of people he felt comfortable with.
Which was probably he felt it so easy to just sit down with Leon and Juno during a hard time for him. With a grateful smile, Rooney took the bag and took out letters for himself as he listened to the back and forth between the pair. He passed the bag along when finished with it and shook his head. "You can go first, Leon."

Professor Stewart started off the lesson quite as Skylar expected, introducing the topic of today as board games. Being by the window, she kept focused on the lesson all the while as she glanced longingly out the window. Sorry Professor, nothing personal, she just quite rather would have been outside then talking about board games. Board games were good for rainy days; that was why they played board games, when they had to be stuck inside.
As far as favourite board games went, well for Skylar she rather enjoyed Clue or the Game of Life in terms of muggle board games. Life was fun because it always took FOREVER to play, which meant if she had hours of time, then they could spend the whole afternoon just playing one round. It wouldn't really be good for a class though, as it would take too long and not finishing was the worst.
As far as what game she wanted to play now, well, Skylar gazed around at the different groups forming and smiled as she heard a group forming for Clue and the different players being explained.
SPOILER!!: Henry, Nat, Tenacius

Approaching the group that had formed, Skylar knew there was room for more players, because there were like up to six players. "I usually play Ms Scarlet." She was like the sassy, flirtatious one, in Skylar's mind, which somehow seemed fitting. She did enjoy dressing up. "You lot haven't begun yet, have you?" She didn't think so, but just figured she ought to check.

No arguments, just sportsmanship- like behaviour. This simply warmed Kay’s heart as she strolled around from group to group. She paused at each for minutes at a time, observing the games. She could see that some of the students were competitive and clearly that most, if not all, of them were enjoying themselves. Finally she glanced at her watch and was glad that she did so because the time was almost up.
“Alright, everyone! Time is up. You may wrap up your games if you can otherwise leave it as it is should you want to come back later to finish up. Prefects, please be sure to escort the other to their next can. Thank you all for attending and remember to stay vigilant. Enjoy the rest of your day!’’
Kay’s eyes searched for Nat. “Ms Franks- Mundie? Could you please stay back for a few minutes?’’
OOC: Thanks for attending, guys! I couldn't post last night because I had an issue logging onto SS However, I closed the thread about 4 hours ago. House points for this lesson will be added shortly and remember to keep your eyes peeled for the Top Students
