----- ...and apparently in that moment, he missed some good class action, because now somebody was getting yelled at for biting and points had gotten deducted. Duuuuude. Slytherin was losing points left and right. Was he one of the few that actually wanted that house cup? ...meanwhile, the lesson seemed like it'd be pretty cool. So they'd be taking care of a sick Abraxan. Brent had never really taken care of an actual sick animal before. Brent changed into the boots and attached a mask over his mouth. When that was done, he began collecting the supplies he'd need. Pretty soon, he had an armful, and he wished he had thought about this ahead of time and just levitated the whole thing. Too late now. His wand was tucked safely into his holster and way out of reach. He did manage to make it over to the tap water outside the barn, and he momentarily placed all his supplies neatly at his feet. He cleaned up really well, and then gathered all his supplies again. Alright. Let's cure some horses! |
Watching everyone else, still not saying much as he did so, Jonas put his supplies neatly next to his feet and used his wand to clean his hands. Alright...let's see what's going to happen now. He glanced over at his penpal and just shrugged sheepishly. His bad. |
Leon listened carefully to what they were going to do. Aww, sick Kneazles? The poor things. The 7th year moved to his feet and headed towards where the supplies were, once had had grabbed at least one of everything - and held it in his shirt so as to not drop anything - he followed after the Professor towards the barn. He wondered if this would be on the NEWTS, but decided not to bother the Professor with his question, he could always look it up later. There was enough drama going on in the class without him asking a question that he could find out in his own. Leon kept an eye out for any more trouble as he walked along. Once he arrived, the dark haired boy carefully put all of his supplies down, took off his shoes and put on boots. He placed his shoes by the barn door before washing his hands, putting on his mask and picking up bus supplies again. All right, he was ready. |
Janelle was busy listening to the professor, when things started to happen. She heard a loud voice and turned just in time to see a Slytherin-Gryffindor altercation. And there was biting involved! Now this was something she hadn't seen before. Fortunately, the situation was brought to a halt before it could escalate. The professor was all kinds of livid. Points were taken and warnings were given. Janelle was just glad that no Ravenclaws were involved. Now it was time to to cure some kneazles. Janelle couldn't wait. Following the professor's instructions, she headed over to grab some supplies. She made sure that she had some of everything and then joined the group heading to the barn. When the class reached the barn, Janelle set down her supplies. Then she took off her shoes and switched to the boots that were waiting for the students. Next she donned a mask, making certain that it was nice and secure. She wouldn't want to infect any of the creatures with hr germs nor would she want to pick up any of theirs. Once that was done, Janelle went over to the sink and carefully washed her hands. Now she was good to go. She stood aside and waited for further instructions. |
Oh, finally! Katy bounced up and down in absolute delight, even if it was delight over the illness and misfortune of some sad little kneazles. Creatures! Finally! Finally with the creatures! At least she wasn't overreacting. Katy grabbed up her bucket and headed toward the barn, shadowing the steps of the professor ahead of her. What was wrong with them? And was it super contagious? She didn't want precious Miss Miaow to catch any nasty barn-related germies. On that note, she'd best wash her hands extra EXTRA so she didn't bring any of Miaow's germs in to these poor babies. Look at her being all germ-conscious. Once in the barn and with hands washed, Katy donned her boots and mask. Not quite a fashion statement, but at least everyone looked ridiculous in the same space. |
Well.... what in the world, the girl who called her liar, bit Jonas? See that first year was off her rocker. She looked sideways at Nat, the head girl and then the head boy. Kat's eyes could've popped out of her head. She blinked, Did the head boy basically congratulate that boy for pushing the girl? Wow. Maybe someone should take a bite out of the head boy. Dramatic people please. Oh no, poor baby kneazles well they might not be babies. But poor little guys. The fourth year got up and moved toward the supplies. She got the supplies, and followed the others and the professor to the barn. She got her wand and washed her hands with the water from it. Taking off her shoes, switching them out with the boots that were provided. Then the mask went on it was kind of like they were preparing for surgery. She was ready to head into the barn help take care of those poor sick kneazles. |
Shaking her head, Juno grabbed all the supplies she would need for the activity. Hopefully these Kneazles weren't too sick. She always hate when any of her pets weren't feeling well. Plus the distraction from having to watch these silly first years and younger students was desperately needed. They were acting pretty immature for their ages. When she got to the barn, Juno quickly and thoroughly washed her hands. She then kicked off her shoes and put on the boots, after which she put the mask on. It must be pretty stinky in there or the Professor didn't want them catching the illness from the animals...if it was possible. She quietly waited for the next instructions, while watching the younger students, making sure her Badgers didn't decide to join in on the drama. |
ketchup + Kat As much he loved all the drama that was going on, his mind was wandering elsewhere. He just wanted to see the poor kneazles that badly. James always had a soft spot for creatures, it didn't matter what kind they are. Any injured creatures would break down his defenses. He always wanted to get himself a pet but he knew he couldn't afford the expenses taking care of them. He figured being here makes up for it. James quickly equipped himself with the necessities needed to attend the injured babies. He wore his boots, mask, and gloves before entering the barn. James wondered how many were in there recovering. James saw Kat was already inside and stood beside her as they waited for more instructions. |
Well...that happened. It all happened so fast that Rula could only stare, wide-eyed, at the younger students causing a commotion. Shouting and pushing and biting, it was just...ridiculous. Merlin. And over just answering the professor's question too. Or at least that's what appeared to have started it all. Rula wasn't entirely sure. The points loss wasn't great, but it was deserved - and now some were arguing over that too? Merlin's beard, if they lost even more points because of this... Not that points were a huge deal at the end of the day, but it was still annoying when they lost some, you know? Anyway, she moved on to following the instructions the professor gave; she gathered the necessary supplies, put on the boots in place of her other shoes, slipped the mask onto her face, and then washed her hands at the tap outside the barn. All ready now, yes? |
They... were going to take care of sick animals...? "I agree with the blonde kid." Slate said gathering his materials in reference to Derf. "I don't think I'm at all qualified to handle..." What were they doing again? "Key-rizzle? Key-schnitzel?" He made a face. "What exactly am I expected to touch?" Because he didn't believe that was clarified. |
Quote:
His boots on - mask too - Derf moved to rewash his hands and then moved next to his Slytherin friend with an eager grin. "Kneazle," he repeated, making sure to take his time in saying the name and enunciating - no lisp or stutter here! - and offered his fellow first year an eager grin. "Fey will look like the common hous-s-se cat to you...only difference being fat fey have a lion's tail," he explained. |
He heard Zoryn's whispers of explanation, and the Gryffindor Prefect just nodded and smoothly extricated his cubby from the scene. He gave her a pat on the shoulder indicating that he understood her and knew it wasnt her fault. Later though, he may give her an advice about overkill and using her physicality to her advantage without making it look like overkill. Skillz yknow? And yes he heard you young Slytherin (Sinead) and you too Mr Head Boy. You both get a frowny look back as he walks Zoryn and himself back to his seat. And with the Profy getting his big adult angry voice out that was the end of that argument. Ok so sick kneazles. That got Tenacius to focus back on the lesson, bringing his thoughts back to his crup at home and the Vet place from next door. Oh this could be fun. Or tearjerky, depending on how sick these kneazles are. So off he goes, selecting boots that are his size, wearing them and the mask and then washing his hands before collecting the supplies. Ohhh if Finn the Vet could see him now eh? |
Quote:
Biting her lip somewhat anxiously, Char asked, unable to put her hand up because she was holding onto the supplies box: "Professor? Can I come and help with the kneazles more after class? Even just to give them love and attention to make them feel better?" That was the most important part of healing after all! |
Oh.... The professor was settling the whole... fight. Olivia wasn't too sure what was actually happening with it, as she was trying to keep her nose out of other people's business, but she was glad, nonetheless. You can never know what other people are dealing with... Anyway... the blonde wasn't going to make a habit of getting into it with other people. She just wanted to focus on her school work, get properly distracted from life, and not have to deal. Animals were the best alternative, as they weren't really capable of arguing or saying nasty things. Or judgment. Maybe she could befriend a few of the sick kneazles... and split up her time between them and homework. Since she didn't have anyone else right now. Not even Rooney. ......Sigh. Doing as instructed, the blonde pulled herself up to her feet and made to follow the others in grabbing boots...and a mask? Huh... The professor really had thought of everything, hadn't he? "Do you think they'll be well soon, Professor?" There was a pause as she struggled into the rubber shoes. "I think I'd like to come back, too, and spend more time with them..." |
Skylar had to admit when the Professor called to their attention to help take care of sick kneazles, well she didn't need to be told twice. What with one of her housemates calling Zoryn out to shut up (not that she blamed the boy, considering her own prior experiences with Z in the apothecary last summer, but still.... some things were better left in one's head) And then Z biting the boy, which only reaffirmed her thoughts that the young gryffindor was crazy. Yes, she was definitely ready to move on, inconspicuously rolling her eyes at the IDIOCY of those two. Even if she did question why the professor let them get sick, despite him saying he didn't let them. It ALL seemed very suspicious to her, but she wasn't going to question the motives. She might just be silently judging the professor, but she would reserve more judgements and opinions until later. Taking some of the supplies mentioned, she was definitely changing her shoes into the provided boots because despite the lack of fashion, she also didn't want to get her proper shoes contaminated. Sliding the mask on over her nose and mouth, she proceeded to wash her hands before entering the barn. At least the hygiene part of the lesson made good sense, even if why the creatures were sick in the first place, did not. Also, was there enough kneazles for them each to care for one? Because that was a lot of sick kneazles then? |

"Miss Spinnet, I think it would be better if you don't mention about it anymore." It would not solve the problems, seriously. So the Professor just moved on to the next question. "It caused by the weather change. Mostly young kneazles that their immune system is still developing tend to get sick easily." And no, he didn't make them sick just for this lesson. Quote:

SPOILER!!: Slate and Derf "What Mr. Ashbury-Hawthorne is right, Mr. Ryker." He assumed that the Slytherin was muggleborn so he might be not familiar with kneazles. "Thank you for explaining, five points awarded for you, Mr, Ashbury-Hawthorne." SPOILER!!: Char and Liv! Moving on, Jordan noticed two Gryffindors asking whether or not they could help with the kneazles outside the class. "Yes, you can help working with them or other creatures outside the class." He nodded in agreement. "And they will get better soon. Their sickness is not that bad, no sign of bad infection. I will explain later." Arriving at the barn, Jordan then washed his hands and took the mask. He didn't really need to change his footwear because basically he always wore boots at the lesson. "Guys, listen." He announced to the students. "Our patients today, the kneazles, have been sick for two days. The cause is the weather change and I have treated the sickness, so your job today is just to help them to get better sooner. Mostly help them to get more appetite and gain more nutrition." He's summoning the blackboard and revealing the instructions. Quote:
"You can start working now. I'm still around in case you need some assistance." OOC: Main activity time! You just need to follow the instruction as Jordan had written. Have fun and be crazy XD I'm still around if you guys have question or need help. All of you have 48-52 hours to finish the activity. THERE IS NO POST LIMIT but if you have more than one post, please title it. |
Well, after that whole little scene got sorted, Tim got up from her spot and went to gather her supplies. Humming to herself, she made sure she had everything needed for the lesson and walked along with her class. Tim wasn't such a big fan of kneazles, or muggle cats for that matter. Especially since that one hissed at her in the shop over summer and she hissed back. At least this was something she was really interested in and wasn't planning on getting distracted too easily from it. Once they had reached the barn, Tim switched out her shoes for some boots and put on a mask. SHE WAS SO READY FOR THIS! She waited for the line of students washing their hands to die down before she went up for her turn. Finally the line had gotten short enough and Tim washed her hands thoroughly. Yes, NOW she was ready. |
little post to start ^_^ (1) Oooooh yay they could come help after too! Charlotte shot a tentative but warm smile at Liv, quite aware that the younger girl had kind of been.... not so around as normal. Maybe they could do it together? Maybe? That would be nice, right? But for now, they were free to see to the kneazles! Charlotte zoomed ahead to pick one, planning to make friends with one of them first, let it feel safe and get used to her presence before she tried to feed it or fuss with its cage. Which one though? Which? She wanted to help them ALL! |
Post one They got to look after the kneazles now yay! Hattie had always wanted a kneazle, so she had decided that this was going to be good practice for when she was old enough to have one. Or at least till her mother decided she could have one. But for now she could totally look after the ones at the school. It would make up for not having her own kneazle for now. Okaay. First thing first she needed to go and change the litter box sand for the kneazle. That made sense. Hattie was careful as she changed the littler box sand so that it was nice and fresh for the kneazle. "That's better" She murmured, as she then moved onto changing the drapes. This took a little longer, but she was sure it was all nice after wards. The little box for the kneazle looked a lot better. Who knew just changing a few things would make such a difference! |
post 1 Oh! Right, Jonas had to put on his mask. Okay. Good to go. After putting on his mask, he went over to one of the kneazle's sleeping stall and remembering the list of instructions, started to clean the littler box. |
*can't be bothered to fully catch up... straight onto main activity!* ALL THE FUSS! Man. It took him long enough to encounter some nasty Slytherin-ness. Directed at a girl, Gryffindor, and FIRST YEAR no less. Matt was NOT impressed. He'd remember your face, you Slytherin person. Even though he didn't know your nam- ah. Mr Emery. HE'D REMEMBER THAT! But now everything had been dealt with, so Matt could get on with life. Aka do the stuff they were meant to do in that lesson. Eeehhhhh, Matt didn't care much about creatures such as kneazles, so he was far from excited about taking care of sick ones. He was not a cat - or kneazle - person. Eh. He'd try and make things a bit more interesting for him, then. The Gryffindor went over to where the stinky litter boxes were and gave one of them a slight kick on the side. The content moved a bit and he stared down at the sand and cat poo. Hmmmmmm... he wondered if the cats - kneazles, same diff - would be able to tell the difference if he just put some extra sand on top of their 'piece of art' instead of actually changing the whole thing. MMMMMM... he'd give it a go. The fourth year then casually topped up the sand of one of the litter boxes, making it pretty much overflow. There it was, brand new sand for your sick cats! Kneazles. |
Post 1 Junia had her very own cat and she was pretty confident in her ability to get along with the sick kneazles. So confident, in fact, that she went straight over to the lot of them and picked herself a rather timid looking one to interact with. Her smile was immediate and she bent down, careful not to startle it. "Hello there, I'm Junia." Her voice was soft and kind, her gaze curious. "I'm here to look after you for a little while. Think maybe you'll feel better if we clean up a bit in here?" The brunette looked around thoughtfully. Yes, cleaning would certainly help. It smelled a bit and new sand would make it easier for her and the kneazle to breathe. Carefully and as quickly as she could manage because ew, kneazle poo, the thirteen year old cleaned the litter box and added some fresh sand. She knew Prince Charlie wouldn't even go near his when it was dirty, so a clean litter box would mean her new kneazle friend could go to the bathroom without worry and no worries would definitely help with the healing process. ...Drapes next? Yeah, must be. |
Matt deliberately chose to skip the tonic part because he knew how fussy animals could be with medication aaaand he kinda didn't want to fight kneazles at the moment. He wanted an eeeeasy going class and so he chose to do only the easy tasks that didn't require actually interacting with the creatures. He got a bottle and used the scouring charm to clean it. He also got a blanket and put it over the kneazles to see what would happen. He put it over them as in completely-on-top-of-the-creatures, who didn't seem to be that bothered about it. Huh. They must be really ill. The Gryffindor did fill up the bottle with some milk - because liquid food sounded like something not even animals would enjoy - and even warmed it up using the hot air charm. Hmmm... maybe he could stop being lazy and at least try to give it to the cats. Kneazles, even. |
Zoryn was pretty preoccupied with the scene before her and had absolutely no idea that so many others were paying attention. Was she getting weird looks? Yeah, she definitely didn’t notice. Which… Was probably a good thing because she probably would’ve stuck her tongue out at the other mean Slytherins too .They deserved it. She allowed Tenacius to walk her over to his seat so that she could be far away from the mean boy and the Professor. She didn’t know how to feel though. She was still angry at the meanie-face boy, but… She was also sad that she lost points. And her Professor had yelled at her and that was THE WORST. So despite believing firmly that it wasn’t her fault, Zoryn did shrink a little in response to the whole fiasco. She wanted to leave. This lesson wasn’t fun any more. Which is why Noelle’s light touch was very well timed. At least GryffinMom was on her side. Tenacius and Noelle were THE BEST. Zoryn nodded her head loads at Noelle. She’d try to. And though she didn’t really want to continue with the lesson, she dragged her feet around anyways. Only looking up when she heard someone talking in her ear. It was Derf. Zoryn knew because he talked funny. ”Really??” her eyes lit up just a little as she perked her head up in curiosity. Alice Fischer of the Montrose Magpies. Zoryn would remember that. Maybe the famous Quidditch player would be SUPER impressed!! As for the werewolf thing, she let out a small giggle. ”Noooo, I’m not a werewolf,” it’d be super cool if she was though. ”Thanks Derf,” she gave her friend a small smile. She already felt loads better than before. And YEAH, she wanted to know the answer to Derf’s question too. It took her longer than the others, but she finally washed up her hands and acquired a mask and some boots. Letting the others run ahead and find their kneazles. |
Post 1 Colt saw Jonas' lips twitch and he knew he heard him. Come on if he scolded him, that would make him a hypocrite. As he began to pay somewhat attention and he saw on the board the steps for the lesson. He saw they needed to take care of Kneazles. Hmm he thought it would be way worse like fire crabs or dragons. I mean hey dragons would be cool right? He saw all the students had to change their drapes and litter boxes. He could do that. He got his gloves on, check. He got his mask on. He put it over his nose. Check. Now to dig in. He walked over to one kneazle seem like he had been to bloody hell and back. He looked sick. Aww poor buddy. He saw his litter box was filthy. He scrunched his nose and was thankful for the mask. He began to clean it and put it into the trashcan and put in new sand. He saw the drapes and saw how dirty they were. He rolled his eyes and wondered why couldn't they do something more exciting like looking at dragons? |
2 Oooooh that one! Charlotte picked a kneazle that at first glance appeared to be an empty cage but the kneazle was cowering at the back. She approached it quietly, her usual exuberance dampened and her gentle side coming through. She wanted to talk to it first, make it feel comfortable before she started fussing around. She didn't want to unsettle the little guy. "Hello," Char greeted softly, and put her Daxton-approaching skills to good use, she wasn't going to hurt it. "I'm Charlotte. I'm going to help you out today, okay? Won't it be nice for everything in here to be clean? And for you to be fed and warm? And then you can nap a little, okay?" She got a little, weak mew in response, and Char reached her hand out for the kneazle to sniff. "Aren't you sweet. Aren't you just so sweet?" Yup. She was making friends right here. |
catching up - mini activity! "Ooh!" Kitty exclaimed excitedly as the professor informed them they'd e healing not Nifflers, but Kneazles. Both were interesting, cute creatures and she'd have been quite pleased to encounter either one. It was sad that they were sick, but Kitty was confident that they'd be better after the collective efforts of the class under a wise professor's supervision. She made her way over to the supplies and replaced her black shiny boots with the school boots. Her boots were some of the most fashionable ones in school (in her opinion) but these other ones were OK too. She then picked up a box of supplies (bottles? Awww) and put on one of the masks by the front of the barn. Then it was on to the Kneazles in the barn. |
You know what, Matt was willing to help out these little critters with food. BECAUSE that had been his answer, y'know, eat loads of food when you were ill to get better and stuff. Practice what you preach, init? AND he had the brilliant idea of mixing the tonic with the milk, so the The fourth year added a few drops of the tonic into the milk bottle thing he was holding and... gave it a good SHAKESHAKESHAKE. The top of the liquid inside the bottle was now full of bubbles and Matt took a good SNIIIIIFFFFFFFFFF to check it out. Still smelled like normal milk. He took that as a good sign. "RIGHT-O, CATS, HERE YOU GO. Oh. Sorry, I shouldn't be that looouddd." He added the last bit in a stage whisperrrrrr that could probably still be heard by quite a few people. He approached one of the kneazles and sort of cupped his hand behind its head as he offered it the bottle. "Come on, now, don't be fussy." DRINK UP, ME HEARTIES, YO-HO! |
Whether or not Natalie could actually get sick from one of these things, she didn't care. She wasn't going to enjoy it. She didn't even know it was possible to get sick from weather change. That sounded fake, but okay. With a huff, Natalie went in and found the least scary-looking kneazle. "Hey little guy..." she said, her nose up in a wrinkle. She couldn't believe she had to clean their litter box. Their POO. Gross. Adjusting her mask to make sure it was covering every possible inch it could, Natalie got to work. She cleaned the drapes and got the scoop and scooped the kneazle poo, holding her breath the ENTIRE TIME and possibly putting herself at risk for passing out, but it was worth it. She felt better when she topped the box off with new sand, though. "Ugh." Gross. |
part 1 The Kneazles were adorable! Kitty instinctively took out her camera (from where it had been in her pack) and snapped five pictures from different angles. "Taking pictures doesn't bother them, does it Professor?" she asked a little too late, the thought having just occurred to her as she finished taking the last picture. She readied a look of mild contrition in case the professor didn't approve. But they were not here to take pictures, and Kitty was very eager to help the Kneazles in every she could. Setting aside her pack in a corner in the barn, she approached one of the Kneazle containers and decided to clean the bed first. "Hi guys," she said, smiling faintly as she reached down to pet one of the Kneazles. |
post 3 for Zoryn Quote:
----- After cleaning the drapes, litter box, and giving tunick, Jonas looked to what was next on the list...watering them. Okay, should be simple enough. Despite everything that happened, Jonas genuinely loved creatures of all kinds. His favorite though was a niffler. They looked like platapuses and were super cute! :) Jonas caught sight of Zoryn. He mouthed an I'm sorry' to her. He knew though it probably wouldn't help anything. |
Post 1 mentioning James As she was standing there waiting to go into the barn, it took her a minute to realize that James had joined her standing beside her. She flashed him a warm smile as they waited for the professors instructions. So the kneazles were just under the weather then, nothing to awful. But colds were no fun. She looked at the instructions, on the board. Moving to find a kneazle to care for. She found a cute little sweet looking one, poor baby being sick. She smiled, "You are going to be better soon, I promise." She patted the kneazle on the head before, going to change its litter box. Cleaning it out and changing the sand. Then she took the old drapes down and put up the clean ones. |
Post 1 Changing the litter box. As much as Etta loved animals.. that was a little... UM.. that wasn't cool. She looked around, trying to pick the cutest looking kneazle... Oh, right there! "Hi. She whispered softly, trying not to scare it. "Don't worry. You're definitely going to feel better soon." She comforted with a smile before she proceeded to change the drapes first. Okay. Now, moving on to the less pleasant task. Trying not to pull a face, she slowly stared to clean the litter box and added fresh sand to it. Yay! DONE! She proudly patted herself on the back with a grin. It hadn't been so bad, after all. Next task now. |
Post 1 - Main Activity + mention of Kat James smiled back at Kat. Would she need more of his help later like last time again? Of course, she was perfectly capable of handling it on her own. No doubt about that, but he would be around to help if she does need his help. James read through the instructions and went off to tend one of the sick kneazles. He couldn't help but keep 'Awwing...' in his head. "Hey little girl, do you want some water while I clean your litter box ..." Leaning closer, he gave a gentle brush on its back. He conjured water into her little bowl next to her. "Here you go..drink a little bit." He didn't want her dehydrated or thirsty. James continued cleaning her sandbox by emptying them out and dumping new sand into her litterbox. With her new drapes changed, now she would feel more comfortable in here. |
Duuuuuuuuude. They had to change the litter box sand? This was NOT what Brent had in mind when he found out he'd been healing sick creatures. He had pictured some syringe full of liquid medicine he'd have to just drop into the creatures' mouths. What he was basically going to be doing, though, was cleaning up poop. Brent frowned and checked to make sure his gloves were extra secure on his hands. They were. He piled his stuff by his feet and looked around the area. There was a nice, smelly litter box just a few feet away. He guessed evanesco'ing the whole thing was out of the picture? Brent grabbed all the necessary tools and set to work cleaning up the litter box. His pride had hit an all time low. He disposed of the old litter and looked around for a fresh batch. Finding it, he piled it into the box and used a rake to spread it around evenly. There. All done. He sighed to himself and looked at the creatures. Did they even know what he'd just done for them? |
catch up - post 1 Like much of the class, Henry was momentarily distracted by whatever was going on between the Gryffindor first year and the slightly older Slytherin boy before the professor intervened. He hadn't been paying attention to them to begin with so he wasn't sure what it was all about. But the commotion did draw his attention long enough for him to forget what they were talking about or to offer an answer to whatever question might have been asked. Oh, right. Sick creatures. And more specifically, sick kneazles? Aww, he didn't know they were sick. Of course, Henry loved kneazles and learning how to take care of them when they were ill would be most beneficial considering he had one himself and would be better equipped if Chewbacca came down with something. He was also about to ask the professor just what kind of sickness the kneazles had and why so many of them were sick that there would be enough for the entire class to treat, but they were already heading to the barn. And Henry hadn't even washed his hands yet. He guessed he could ask later. If he remembered. Already falling behind, he quickly grabbed a box of supplies and trotted off after the rest of the class. Once he was at the barn, he changed into the provided boots and grabbed a mask. Washing his hands was a must too. And after he finished all of that, he just caught the tail end of what Professor Hernandez was saying about the kneazles. Ohh, change of weather could sometimes make them sick? Huh. He didn't know that. Maybe Chewbacca was just less sensitive to things like that. But pushing that thought aside for now, Henry looked up at the blackboard for his first set of instructions in order to help some sick kneazles. |
ooops? :3 flying litter and kneazle feces for all?! Feeling RELIEVED at the professor's words, Derf offered the man an eager grin and accompanying nod. "Oh...OKAY!" And then he was off and tempted to grab Zoryn by the arm and drag her with him, but he hesitated on doing so because his Slytherin buddy was the one who seemed to need more help... ...but his attention was quickly drawn to a nearby kneazle who needed the MOST help...so no offense fellow first years, he was an aspiring magizoologist on a MISSION. Getting down on all fours and then eventually into army crawling position, he approached the creature. "Meow...meeeeeoooooow...meowmeow,"he explained while offering his hand for the creature to sniff. "Hi." Nose aside, once the kneazle had shown Derf that it was accepting - if not indifferent - to his presence, he carefully reached out and touched the feline creature's ears. INSTANT FROWN! They were warm...and that wasn't GOOD. "Meooooooooooooow," he assured his kneazle. Just leave it to him! Back up on his feet now, the Hufflepuff looked over the litter box and....oh yeah, there was definitely a digestive issue going on with this one. Probably had caught a bit of a nasty cold somewhere judging from the consistency of the secretions...not to mention the aroma. Wand out, Derf decided that now was as good a time as ever to practice a Vanishing Spell. Sure, that little useful nugget was OWL level, but no time like the present to start practice, right? RIGHT! Wand out, the first year cleared his throat and took a few exaggerated deep breaths before his wand was pointed to the litter box. "Evanes-s-sco!" Once again, his stutter cost him. A bright blue light shot out of the first year's wand and into the litter box's sand and just when the hopefully Hufflepuff thought that maybe...juuuuuuuust maybe he had done something right for once....the contents - EVERYTHING - began to swell and soon it was all too obvious what was about to happen. "WATCH OUT FOR FLYING S-SECRETIONS-S!" he shouted before diving on top of his kneazle. Good news was that the litter box WAS empty of its contents...so in essence he HAD performed the spell properly. Bad news was that the contents was, well, it wasn't in the litter box anymore. |
Catch up :3 Post 1 with attempted escape :33 Who even knew what was going on, honestly? Usually the problem with COMC was that you could get bitten by an animal - but apparently first years were biting each other? Who knew anymore... It didn't matter, anyway, because there were sick kneazles and that just couldn't stand with her. NUH HUH. Animals needed love and care and although Daisy was much more of a dog person and kneazles were basically cats, they were still sick creatures. To work, then. Slightly behind her classmates, Daisy moved to wash her hands and follow the rest of the Professor's instructions. She managed to find a pair of boots close to her size - they were still too big, but she would make do - she proceeded to switch her uniform shoes for them and grabbed a mask. Oh, right! Moving to the tap, the Slytherin thoroughly washed her hands, not wanting to infect the poor sick kneazles with any germs. Only then did she put on her mask, making sure it covered her nose and her mouth. Now that felt weird. She followed the class into the barn and watched as the other students moved to find the sick creatures, looking around and trying to decide where to go. She didn't really get that far, however, because soon enough a first year was screaming about secretions and her eyes widened as she took in the scene. Oh no. NO NO NO. "Incomiiiiiiing!!!" Was the muffled scream that was heard through the mask as Daisy turned around and began to run towards the door. ESCAPE ESCAPE ESCAPE ESCAPE. It was useless, however, because not a second later a slightly weird explosion sound was heard and the fifth year felt something ... wet land all over her back. OH THE SMELL. |
Post 2 anddd reaching to flying litter XD The first task was a little bit smelly. But she had grown up with cats and kneazles, and so she was used to changing them. So this didn't really bother her, and Hattie just got on and did it. She hummed to herself a little, keeping herself from getting distracted. She wanted to do this well, because she wanted the little kneazle to get better. Being sick sucked, and she didn't want the kneazle to feel icky. But now to move on the next bit of the activity. Kneazle tonic. She didn't even know that it existed! But it sounded like good. She was about to get up and get the tonic for her kneazle, when she heard Daisy's voice. She quickly covered her head. "Ewwww. Who is throwing the stuff around?" The murmured, not wanting to uncover her hair till it was all gone. Only the would she get the tonic. Her hair was important. |
one time big time xD || disaster from the Derp || plus Prof question Ok so it was the 'ol Vet assist routine. He's got this.... He entered the barn and neared the kneazles. They could be quite the finicky sort, so he took his time to sense which one was least likely to reject his care. He patted the head of one and then the other-- oh and heres one that bothered to look at him, blinking its beautiful blue-speckled yellow eyes and meowed softly. Ok this one, this one picked him he knows it. First he knew that since he was clean, he should do the "clean" duties first, usually that would mean giving the meds first, but he was still a stranger as far as these furry felines were concerned, so he gotta earn their trust first, and that means FOOD. He got a feeding bottle, scourgified it clean, heated up the bottle-- so it served to purify it AND heat its future contents-- then filled it with liquid food. Then he neared his chosen kneazle, offering it the bottle while gently stroking its head and ears to convey the message that he was friendly and that it can relax "Hey there--" he looked at the nether regions "--buddy. How you feelin' today? Want some nom nom?" The kneazle lifted his head and took to the bottle gratefully, but it was clear that he was in a weakened state. The Curly Top sat by the kneazle patiently until it didnt want to eat anymore. He followed that with more petting sessions, and soon enough the furry feline was purring contentedly. Ok now for the tough part. Tonic time. Without trying to break the petting session, the leonine lad rustled up the tonic into the dropper then gently, held the kneazle securely with his other hand ":music:Please dont scratch me buddy o'mine :music:" he cooed as he deftly squeezed the tonic into the side of the kneazle's mouth. Naturally it resisted, but he got the meds in, then followed it with more petting and cooing ":music:Who's a good boy? You're the good boy....:music:" pet pet pet. Now that thats done, it was time to do some bedding changes. Tenacius unfurled the clean drapes then set it near the kneazles bed "C'mere boy, want some fresh bedding?... of course you doooo... :music:" he lifted the kneazle up gently, cradling it between one hand and his chest, as his other hand replaced the old bedding with the fresh one. Curiously enough, the kneazle was watching him, still purring all the while "Aaaaaand back you go." he said as he settled the creature back into its bed, then set a blanket around him. Oh boy he was getting attached to this furry feline. "Professor...... are these kneazles up for adoption?" its not like he's lacking for pets And boom there goes disaster. As if by instinct, he uttered the shield charm to protect his sick but now clean and contented kneazle from the disaster that is the messy litter box from Derpyderp. Which of course meant he was now showered in the litter of another sick feline. Sighs. Whats a Vet gig without some poopy disaster eh? |
Harvey couldn't help but feel for the small creatures. Merlin knows he understood their pain - he had spent enough time in bed that summer! That made him doubly excited about doing actual practical work - a change from the previous year - since all he could really do was read instead of enjoy the sunshine. And he'd read enough about kneazles to want to actually get to know them better. And who knows, maybe he could befriend one...? "I'd be happy to help outside of class too, Professor," he volunteered, hearing Char and Liv's voices pipe up. He sure wasn't going to get left behind on this! So thinking, determined to prove himself capable of practical tasks, Harvey put on his mask and set to work. SPOILER!!: Activity |
Post 1 Kane had JUST entered the area and picked out his kneazle - a really skinny looking one that he was affectionally going to call Smelly Cat - when there were suddenly FECES exploding and flying around. It was like a NIGHTMARE. "What in the--COME HERE SMELLY CAT! I'LL SAVE YOU!" he screeched, scooping up his kneazle who gave a loud meow of protest, and running towards the corner. He took his Hufflepuff scarf and tried to drape it over his hair and Smelly Cat's face, but it didn't do a whole lot to cover them. |
mentions of daisy and Derf// Post 1 Quote:
Oh bloody hell. Perfect opportunity to work on the spell they just were taught in DADA. Pulling her wand out quickly as the contents poured down, she shot out her shield charm and then reinforced it. The pale blue color illuminating from the shield. and yessss, only a few fecal matter got on her. |
XD been speechless and didn't know how to respond... answering Ace and Derf incident It looked the student had understood the step and it was good. It meant that his instructions were very clear. Oh yes, he needed to secure a student's rat first. But then Tenacius came to ask him a question. "Yes, but not all of you can adopt it, kneazles are XXX classification and it requires license for owning them." Jordan explained. "Do you want to adopt one?" Because if yes, the Gryffindor prefect needed to show that he's qualified and capable for owning a kneazle, so he could get the license and... one kneazle will belong to the Salanders. Oh, another student wanted to help outside the class too! That's good. "Feel free to visit them when you have free time, Mr. Jarvis." He nodded to the Ravenclaw boy. Didn't the students know that the barn is opened for them? Maybe they didn't. Jordan didn't mind if they want to visit the creature or even better, helping him taking care of them. As long as they didn't create a drama or something like that... Ahem. Plus, the barn wouldn't be such a good snogging spot. Finishing with the question, the CoMC professor put Leesha's rat at the safe place and back to the lesson and then.... Something happened. .................. .................................... ............................................ Holy crups. With a quick reflect, he cast shield charm to protect himself from the litter disaster. Jordan observed around to see how could this happened. Realized that it happened because a certain Hufflepuff miscast a spell, he just shook his head and speechless. Seriously, he had no idea what to say to Derfael. He could not be mad at the boy, it's not his fault that he couldn't perform the spell. But well, maybe just a little friendly reminder then. "Mr. Ashbury-Hawthorne..." He put his hand on Derfael's shoulder. "Next time if you need a help for casting a spell or something else, don't be afraid to ask me or the older students." That's all. Could they move on and continue with the activity? "If any of you have become the litter victim, I give you time to clean yourself." OOC: You guys still have 22 hours to complete the activity :xd: |
last post! :3 Alright! So the kneazles were cooperating with him. He lookrd onto the next two final steps. Feeding and keeping them wam. Simple enough. As he feld them milk, he knew it was a bad idea to talk but if he didn't snap maybe it would be okay?? He heard about adopting Kneazles. "What about nifflers professor?" He asked. |
SPOILER!!: Creatures Master ^_^ "Yes Sir yes I do and we can take care of the license sure we can Sir!!" he answered excitedly. Ok so maaaaybe he has to clear this with his parents because he practically has a mini Scamander sanctuary as it is with the number of pets he has but hey whats one more right? "Uhm Professor.... how do I obtain a license?" Oh and before he forgets he should clean up the litter box... and himself. |
Post #2 Sigh. This lesson was on backwards! Firstly, someone had gotten bitten and it hadn't been by a creature and now students had poop all over them - including her, thank you very much - and again, the animals were blameless. Honestly, the animals were being run out of a job by the students. Still, the Slytherin couldn't really blame the little kid; as far as she could tell it had been an accident and honestly, Daisy wasn't that good at magic, either. Still, just to make sure, she would stay away from any first years around. At least Professor Hernandez hadn't taken points away from the boy. So, moving on. Sick kneazles. Daisy took one step towards the cages with the animals but stopped when she felt something dripping down her back. Oh, right. She had to clean herself up. The fifteen year old reached for the wand that was safely kept in the pocket of her uniform and performed a scouring charm on herself as best she could. Eh. It would do, she would deal with the rest later. She took extra care in cleaning the front of her robes and her hands, however, to make sure she didn't contaminate the rest of the animals. She finally found a lonely cage, luckily as far away from Derf as possible, and crouched down to look at the poor sick kneazle inside it. It seemed so sickly and still. Not to worry, she would get it on the path to health in no time. YAY! What were the instructions again? The fifth year student looked over at the blackboard that had been summoned and nodded. Oh right. That had sort of been what had started all this. "Hey there little kitten.." She whispered to the slow-blinking animal in front of her. She reached for it with one hand and gently picked it up, proceeding to cradle it against her chest as she magically removed the sand from his litter and into a bucket and then proceeded to spread around fresh, clean sand. "We're having a very nice snuggle, aren't we?" Next it was the drapes. Still, softly holding the sick kneazle, Daisy carefully managed to remove the drapes from its litter and dropped them by her knees. She didn't exactly know where the new, clean drapes were so, with a sneaky look at Professor Hernandez, to make sure he wasn't looking just in case she was doing something wrong, the Slytherin used her wand to summon a fresh pair of drapes. Ahem. Surely they didn't belong to anybody! There. Now the little kneazle had new sand and drapes in his litter box! Step one on the road to healthy life was complete! |
Ugh. There really was no justice in the world. Something in the professor’s tone warned her not to push the matter any further, though, so she dropped her hand with a pout, until the next minute, when she found herself with another burningly urgent question. “Professor,” she called, waving her arm around once more. “Aren’t most diseases just for one animal? Because if we had a cold, a Kneazle couldn’t get it, could they? So what disease do they have that we can get as well? Can all the different creatures get it? Is that like Dragon Pox?” Much as she wasn’t a fan of Care of Magical Creatures in general (at least not the practical side), this lesson could have been worse. Okay, it wasn’t nice to have to clean up after sick animals, but Kneazles were kind of like cats, and she got on with them. She kinda thought her own cat might be part Kneazle, though he wasn’t really fluffy enough- but he was too clever to be a normal Muggle cat, there was definitely something magical about him. That was a good point- she’d have to make sure to wash her hands well after class so that she didn’t get him ill. For now, though, she had a job to do. She wasn’t too keen to touch the dirty litter with her bare hands, so she [i]wingardium leviosa[i]-ed it out of the tray instead, concentrating deeply as she directed it into the bin in a neat stream. There- how was that for cross-curricular? This concluded, she was just reaching for her kneazle (a skinny grey kitten who reminded her quite a lot of her own cat) when she heard a stammered yell of alarm and just had time to cast a shield charm before all hell broke loose. Wow. She was really bringing in all her other subjects today. Good thing they’d covered that in DADA. |
Main Activity Single Post! You're going to get better now, you hear?" Carlton looked at the kneazle but it just stared blankly back up at him. "See, you might want an older student to help take care of you but you got me. And so you have to deal with it." He crouched down and reluctantly started to clean the drapes and the litter box. This was the worst part. He wondered how Natalie dealt with this. Thankful for the mask he successfully cleaned the litter box. When everything was clean, he expected a little reaction from the kneazle but got nothing. Not even a little flinch. Carlton had apparently picked a very ungrateful one. "You'll thank me when you're feeling better." He muttered and looked over at the board. Kneazle tonic... Right. He leaned forward, tonic in hand. "OK, just a feeeew drops of..." He spilled the tonic on one of its paws. "Oopsie..." He looked over where Professor Hernandez was but he seemed busy with all the flying feces. Thankfully, that was at the other end of the barn. Carlton turned back to the kneazle and saw it clean its paw off. So it got the tonic. NEAT. He straightened his back, beaming. Now to clean the feeding bottle. All the steps up to this point had worked, or semi-worked but a scouring charm? He didn't know how to do that and the thought of more feces flying around scared him. So instead of fully following the instructions he sneaked off and cleaned it with water because yeah, safety first. He found his little kneazle and gave the bottle back to it. So he couldn't perform the scouring spell but he did know Chaudensis because Liv and Professor Myers had taught him that in Herbology. "Chaw-den-sis." He murmured quietly to himself before getting his wand out and aiming it at the bottle. "Chaudensis." He felt the bottle getting slightly warmer and he hoped that was enough. At least it hadn't melted like a bucket in Herbology had. Quickly he filled it with milk as he got a blanket. He was working fast now. No time to chit-chat, no time to avoid stepping in kneazle feces. Carlton wrapped his kneazle up in a blanket and lifted it up in his arms. For a second he swayed from the weight. His kneazle wasn't huge but then again, neither was Carlton. It gave out a 'meow' and gazed at him accusingly. Carlton glared back, picked up the milk bottle and started walking over to the others with the kneazle in his arms. He walked slowly. Thud, thud, thud. "Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuush little kneazle don't say a word, Carlton's gonna give you some lukewarm milk. And if that milk is not that dandy, Carlton's gonna give you... Some kneazle candy." He sat down snuggling his kneazle close to him. Pet, pet, pet. |
Post 3 When all of the offending litter that as floating and being thrown around only then did Harriet take her arms from above her head. She did not want to get covered in litter, especially used litter. She shook her head, and then turned her attention back to her kneazle. Now she could get back to making the kneazle all better. Okay. It was time for the tonic. She petted the kneazle, and then carefully gave the kneazle 3 drops of the tonic. She was very careful to make sure that it was only 3, because she didn't want to over dose the kneazle. That would not be good at all. Now she had to clean the feeding bottle. That was okay. She petted the kneazle, making sure it was nice and comfy in the little box, before she got her wand out, and pointed it at the feeding bottle. "Scourgify" she murmured, and watched as the feeding bottle got all clean. "That's much better" She murmured with a nod. Now the kneazle would have nice clean water. Hattie got excited now, because she believed that she had gotten to the best bit. She carefully warmed up a bottle of milk with the hot-air charm, making sure it wasn't too hot. She then sat on the floor, with the kneazle on her lap, and gently fed it. This was fun actually. She liked this. She hummed, as she kneazle drank up all of the milk. That was good. Food and warm milk was a good thing to make people better, so she assumed it would be the same for the little kneazle. And the she finally placed the kneazle back into it's little box, and carefully put a blanket over it, so that it wouldn't get cold. "I hope you feel better" She murmured with a smile, making a mental note to make sure to ask the Professor if the kneazles had gotten better at a later time. |
Post one! Leon had held back a little as everyone made a mad rush for a kneazle, the poor creatures were sick, he didn't want to frighten them! When everything had settled down a bit, (not to mention he had ducked out of the way due to flying litter!) He found a nice little kneazle and gently knelt down next to it, gently petting its head as he looked around. "Hey there little one, I'm going to help you feel better okay?" He said softly as he spotted the litter box and then took out his wand and said "Evanesco!" There, that was done though he wanted to clean the actual box too, so another point of his wand and a "Scourgify " And the litter pan was sparkling clean! Leon grabbed the litter from his supplies and carefully poured it into the pan, making sure not to overflow it! He had a cat at home, so he knew how these things worked. He gently scraped over the top of the litter pan with a scoop to make sure it was even before putting the litter away. He then took down the dirty drapes and replaced it with a fresh clean one and sat back on his heels.. "There we go, and now.. I have some tonic for you little one. " The 7th year searched in his supplies for the Kneazle tonic and once he had found it, grabbed a small dropper and sucked up some of the liquid.. Okay.. he moved slightly closer to the creature and gently rubbed the dropper against its nose and the side of its mouth until it opened its mouth and Leon was able to get a few good drops out before the Kneazle got angry! Whew! That was done. Okay, what was next? |
Post 2 Colt went onto cleaning the drapes. He got the right cleaning supplies and began to scrub it down with his sponge then he finished it up with scourgify. The helpful cleaning spell that does wonders. Too bad he couldn't use it in the muggle world. It would solve all his problems. Now onto the next step. Giving the kneazles 2-3 drops of tonic. Well this should be fun. His looks like he wouldn't put much of a fight. It seemed like it was drained. After putting his cleaning supplies away, he approached the creature carefully. "Hey there buddyy." he coaxed him. "I am not gonna hurt ya..." he promised him. He got the tonic which look like it was in a bottle which wasn't bad. Good thing it wasn't a needle. That is more terrifying. He got the tonic and prepared for the eyedropper to be filled. Once he filled it, he put his hands in front of the kneazle and it sniffed it. It didn't seem scared at all. He put the eyedropper in front of his face and it shrugged it seemed. He went closer to it's mouth and it turned away from him. Alright new plan. He was gonna do it quickly. He grabbed its mouth gently and he dropped 2-3 drops in. Success. He waited a little bit for it to cool off. He was sure he betrayed its trust. What was the next step? Oohh cleaning the bottle. Well that was easy. |
All in one post, sorry! Not much time >_< Sigh… So Vlam needed to be put in a cage what wasn’t his, something she knew her rat wouldn’t like but, there was nothing to do about it because she didn’t wanted to risk it that Vlam would get sick. So with some reluctance she handled her rat over to the professor. “Thank you, professor, it will not happen again she promised although she wasn’t so sure if she actually would keep her rat in her dorm the next time but… The professor didn’t needed to know that, right? Walking back toward the others, now without Vlam she really felt bad for her rat and she decided to reward Vlam with some cheese after the lesson, just to make sure that her rat wouldn’t be in a bad mood. Stepping in her boots she started working. Well… Where to start? Hmm… Looking at the list she walked toward one of the cages and started to clean it carefully to not disturb the animal and she removed the litter box sand, what wasn’t such a bad thing. She herself had a rat so she was used to clean cages. Looking up to see what she needed to do more she took the tonic she had brought with her and she carefully gave the animals the two drops of the tonic. Taking her want out next she muttered; “Scourgify” while pointing it at the feeding bottle, something she too did regularly for her own rat and using that same spell was really handy! Hmm… Looking at the bottle with food she decided to take the milk because she thought that they would like it better and she quickly used the hot air charm to warm it up a little, those poor animals were sick after all! Taking the kneazle out of his cage she was relieved that she didn’t had brought Vlam with her who wouldn’t have liked it to be here! “Here you go” she spoke to the animal she was holding while feeding it. She needed to confess that she liked the kneazle but she absolutely didn’t wanted to own one herself. Folding the kneazle in a blanket while it was eating she sat down and just watched. This wasn’t such a difficult task to do! She actually wished that all her lessons were like this one because, if she would have more of those lessons she knew for a fact that she wouldn’t be late for class because she didn’t wanted to miss this! |
Post two, Derf and POO Natalie had just warmed the bottle of milk up for the kneazles and was getting ready to feed the one she was taking care of. Merlin, she was glad she had gloves and a mask on, because she had to get NEAR the thing and she didn't want to get sick. Inching closer, Natalie guided the bottle to the kneazle's mouth and was surprised to see the furry thing latch onto it and drink with no problem. Well, this was easy. With a sigh, Natalie lifted her eyes and looked around while she held the bottle for the kneazle. Her eyes landed on another first year, a Hufflepuff, if she remembered. One of the ones that had a lot of energy, like that one Zoryn girl. He was trying to do magic, it looked like. And... what in the world did he just say?! A scream left Natalie's throat when the contents of the boy's litter box exploded. Dropping the bottle, Natalie covered her precious, pretty hair with her arms and took cover, feeling the used litter rain over her arms. "Ew!" She exclaimed, standing back up when the rain was over. She GLADLY listened to the professor and went to clean up at the sink, KICKING Derf in the back of the heel on her way out and muttering under her breath. Boys were DUMB. |
Post 3 Now time to clean the feeding bottle. This should be a piece of cake. He had to do that on the farm when he was helping Kace feed the animals. He had skills and even better he didn't have to manually clean them out. He could use magic. God bless. He got the bottle and saw how dirty it was. He scrunched his face and used, "Scourgify!" and pointed his wand inside the bottle. It was squeaky clean and he empty the remaining water. He needed to now find some milk. He searched and saw some in a jug and he got a funnel and now time to warm up the bottle first. He used the hot air charm and he pointed his wand and felt the bottle warmth. He next filled the bottle. There complete. He walked over to his kneazle and saw the bottle and it was waiting in anticipation. It seemed hungry for the milk. He first got him into a blanket because it seemed cold. He snuggled it up and then got the bottle and let it sip on it. Aww this was cute in a way. |
Post Two All right, Leon looked around for the watering bottle and he gently took it out and used Evanesco again to vanish the dirty water. He picked up his wand and said "Scourgify. " There! Now it was nice and clean, he used his wand again and said "Aguamenti!" He watched as the bottle filled with clear, cool water. He made sure it filled up all the way before saying, "Finite. " He reattached the water bottle and brushed his hands on his pants, water bottle! Check! Now he had to feed the poor little thing. He gently scratched its head as he found a bottle and milk in his supplies, he carefully poured the milk into the bottle and then performed the Hot air charm to carefully warm up the bottle. When it seemed like it was warm enough he carefully used the same method he did to get the drops in its mouth. He ever so gently rubbed the bottle on the Creatures lips and smiled as the Kneazle started to drink the milk. "There we go.. " He said in a soothing voice as he smiled down at the Kneazle. He carefully moved the blanket over it as it drank the milk, he tucked it in making sure it was nice and comfy. When it was done with the milk, he softy patted it head. And then gathered his supplies.. Poor thing, he hoped it would be all right. |
Post two+ watching James + Derf with the flying litter +Professor about adopting one Now that the litter box and the drapes were changed, she could move on the next steps. Well she could if she hadn't spotting James with his kneazle. He was so sweet with it, just look. "You're looking pretty comfortable over there." She smiled watching him for a moment. The blonde turned her head to the professor when she heard him talking to Ace about about adopting one. "Can we really adopt one? I'd get a license to have one if we can adopt them." She would love to own one of them. Finally a pet she could keep at school. Anyway back to taking care of the sick kneazle. Moving on the next step , the drops of tonic. Kneazle was a thing? Who knew. Looking through the supplies, though using a summoning charm would have been simpler. Once she found it she give the kneazle its tonic. One drop. That was as far as she had gotten before she heard Daisy shouting some about incoming. She didn't have time to react to whatever it was that was coming her way. She covered the kneazle's head, it was all the reaction she could do. Seeing the litter around her. Oh..my...god. 'I've got liter in my hair!" She shook out as much of the litter in her hair, as she could. This was a disaster. A true disaster. Littler in her hair and the kneazle still needed one or two more drops of tonic. Do you see her dilemma? |
One big post! Juno found a couple little Kneazles babies snuggling together, and put all her supplies down a few feet away from them. They were both super cute and tiny. One was ginger and the other was solid black. "Hello sweet little ones. I am going to clean you up and get those little bellies full." The kittens roused at her voice and looked up at her, but didn't move much more than that. They must not be feeling very good. She rubbed both of the little babies between their ears. "Alright, you will get more of that in a few minutes. First I need to change out your drapes and litter." Juno stood and went over to their litter box. It was a good thing she was so far away from everyone else. None of the pooped filled litter from Derf's accident made it to her. She just shook her head and kept working. These first years were really going to make her nuts. Grabbing her wand she sent a quick scorgify at the litter box. She then changed out the drapes and added more litter to their box. "There we go. Nice and clean for you." She rubbed the little babies for a second, and picked up the ginger one for the next step. It mewed a little but allowed her to hold it. She grabbed the tonic and gave the kneazle 3 drops of the tonic. It was mewing now, not loudly but annoyed. "I know little one. Medicine sucks." She gave the little baby a snuggle before putting it back and picked up the black one. Repeating the same 3 drops of tonic, snuggle, and placing it back next to it's friend. Her next step was to clean the feeding bottles. "Scorgify! Scorgify!" She cast the spell on both bottles. She looked them over and was satisfied that they were properly clean. She then filled the bottles with milk, warming them just a little with the hot-air charm. She then wrapped the two kittens in their own blankets, not only to keep them warm but it was easier to feed them this way. If their paws were out they would be kneading her hands and she didn't want to get scratched up. Once they were snug enough, and not able to pull their paws out, she laid them down in some hay, and sat down between them, holding the little bottles in their mouths. They were super sweet kittens and very calm, but that also could have been because of their illness. Juno found herself humming a lullaby to them, when she heard two giant sucking noises. They were definitely fast eaters. She grinned at the milk drunk kittens, pulling the bottles gently out of their mouths. She slowly unwrapped them both and they automatically snuggled up together, just as she found them. She rubbed their heads and placed a single blanket over them. The ginger gave her a small lick, as thanks before completely passing out. Juno grinned to herself. Baby animals were the cutest thing! |
Post 2 Luckily Junia was able to save herself, her hair, and the kneazle she was caring for from the unfortunate litter incident. She did let out a little shriek, though. The very last thing she needed was to get kneazle waste of any kind on her and the poor sick kneazle was having a tough enough time as it was. Proooobably best for the first year to take better care when working with such materials. He'd learned his lesson, she hoped. "It's okay now, everything is okay." She turned her attention back to the creature, positioning herself on the floor right in front of him while she got the tonic ready. She'd never had to give Prince Charlie tonic before, so she was a little unsure about the correct procedure. She certainly didn't want to scare the kneazle any. She also didn't want to get scratched. Maybe starting with a small amount of contact and working her way up? Yeah, that was smart! The third year waited for the kneazle to move closer and then she gently held out her hand, letting him sniff it. When she was confident he wouldn't bite her, she gently stroked the creature between the ears. That seemed to be the right move, as the kneazle was now standing between her legs. She scratched under his chin gently next, wanted for him to be comfortable with her hands close to his mouth. Then she made a move with the tonic. She was quick and careful, gently opening the side of the kneazles mouth so she could place a couple drops in it. When she was done, she smiled. "Good boy." So far, so good. Bottle cleaning came next and her furry companion was sticking close to the third year as she worked. Apparently she had a fan, which was more than she could've hoped for. "Scourgify." The milk for this was where aga-oh, there it was! After filling the bottle, the thirteen year old used the hot-air charm on it. It took her a few tries, but she eventually managed one that successfully warmed the milk. "There we go. Who's hungry?" Her kneazle friend seemed to be which was good news. On the floor once more, Junia happily fed him, keeping him warm in a nice, cozy blanket all the while. |
3 Having got the little kneazle more used to her presence, Char went ahead and took the drapes down to swap them out. Wouldn't it be easier to just use a spell to clean them? Char wasn't sure and she didn't ask because she was already distracted by the next task. Ewww. Litter boxx saaaand. But pooping was NECESSARY and EVERYBODY pooped, especially animals, and they deserved a clean place to do their business too. She changed out the litter and vanished the gross stuff. That was okay, right? And honestly it wasn't nearly as bad as mucking out abraxan stables so she wasn't complaining. Charlotte refilled the tray with clean sand and stopped to give the Kneazle some attention. "There you go, isn't that better? Nice and clean toilet for you. I'm going to wash my hands again, okay? And then we'll give you your tonic and get you fed." Oh and she still had to clean the feeding bottle. Charlotte washed her hands and then went ahead and cleaned the feeding bottle out, then washed her hand AGAIN. Okay, now she could do the tonic, and then feed the kneazle right after and it wouldn't have to wait! |
Post 2 Ok, crisis averted - for now at least. First things first, he had to get them clean. Kane took his Hufflepuff scarf off and tossed it aside for now - THAT was getting washed later for sure. "Scourgify!" he muttered, waving his wand over his hair and over his little kneazle buddy. Smelly Cat let out a hiss and Kane frowned at him. "Sorry! I didn't want to be covered in feces either, you know," he told him. He let him off his lap for a moment so he could clean the liter box. That was yucky and he wanted to get it done NOW. He picked up the shovel and scooped out the - well, the nasty stuff - from the liter box and tossed it in the appropriate rubbish bin. He then got some fresh liter and filled it back up again so it was all ready for when Smelly Cat needed to use it again. Next, the drapes. He took the dirty ones, tossed them aside, and got fresh new ones. Nice and soft and warm. "Like it Smelly Cat?" he asked his kneazle with a grin. All he did in return was stare at him. |
4 "Scourgify!" Charlotte cast the scouring charm and gave the feeding bottle a really good scrub out, making sure that it was clean and using a bit of elbow grease before she was satisfied. She gave it a rinse too and then decided that her Kneazle could have milk. Milk was comforting. She filled the feeding bottle and then put it aside while she got the tonic ready. "Hey little Kneazle. Let me help you out okay?" She tried to coax it closer but in the end she had to reach for it and grab it by its scruff, still being gentle but also firm enough to make sure it wouldn't get away from her when she was giving it the tonic. She DID have to force its mouth open though, which was okay, she'd done that with her crup before, so Char carefully got the Kneazle's mouth open and got three drops of tonic in there. "There there! Its all over now. Lets have some milk and wrap up warm shall we?" Charlotte said in a comforting tone. And since she had the feeding bottle all ready now she distracted the little thing from its discomfort with the bottle and watched anxiously, waiting to see if it would feed. |
Post 2; question asked :) While she hadn't actually suffered any damage, the litter box incident had been entirely too close to comfort, and she was sick of people being idiots in class. Maybe it wasn't their fault if they weren't good enough wizards to cast a simple spell properly, but then they could ask for help instead of being a liability to everyone else! Sinead cast dark looks around the room as she bent back to her kneazle, still mindful of the steps that had been written out on the board and the fact that she wanted a good grade in all her classes. She'd not even finished step one, though luckily the clean drapes she'd taken from the supplies had fallen under her shield charm so they wouldn't need replacing. She spread them carefully across the enclosure, before catching her kneazle and holding it firmly to her body. It wasn't going to like being fed tonic, but it would just have to put up with that before it could have any food. She pinched the sides of its upper jaw just like she had to when giving her cat pills, slipping her fingers behind its canines to lever its mouth open and dispensing three rapid drops of the tonic before the kitten could attempt to resist. This done, she released the kneazle for a minute while she examined the feeding bottle, fishing her wand out of her robes with the other hand. "Scourgify," she murmured, before filling it with the milk she'd collected earlier on and heating it gently. It was always so satisfying, when she could complete just little tasks like that with the magic she'd learned. That was one thing that was really great about Hogwarts- you got to use what you studied, unlike at muggle schools, where most of the subjects were only good for taking exams. Though, Sinead was a bit of an exam devotee as well. She could only imagine that the kneazle would be keen to be fed, but it seemed a little wary of her since she'd administered the tonic- apparently not a big fan of its medication. Frowning, she waved the bottle at its face; when that didn't entice it over, she reached out and snared the kitten around the middle once more, unhooking its tiny claws from the matting to place it on her lap and thrust the bottle at its face. Still not keen. That didn't seem healthy. "Professor, mine won't drink the milk? Is it because it's ill or is it something to do with the bottle?" Sinead looked up, unable to raise a hand because both were occupied with the kitten. |
Post 2 Kneazle tonic. Okay. Etta could do that. She smiled at the cat, patting it every now and then and giving words of encouragement. She was sure that it was already getting better, yes? Sure looked like it. The girl sat next to the little creature, feeling a little unsure but decided to just do it anyway. Trying not to make any sudden movements, she carefully reached for the kneazle. It seemed quite friendly.. good. She swiftly gave it a couple drops of the tonic. And YAY! Etta grinned. "You're really cute. I like you. You must be hungry, right? Don't worry, I'm going to give you something to have now." Etta pulled out her wand, proceeded to clean the feeding bottle first with a "Scourgify" and filled it with milk, before she used the hot air charm to make the bottle a little worm. Did it work? ..... oh yeah, it did. |
5 Charlotte adjusted her mask and then moved the feeding bottle up, anxiously. What if it wouldn't drink? What if.... oh! She hadn't warmed it! Maybe that was why? Char took her wand out and warmed the bottle carefully, not wanting to make it too hot. She tested it on her arm and everything to be sure, and THAT apparently was enough to get the kneazle's little nose twitching and it licked the drop on her arm. Char laughed and held the bottle out, beaming under her mask when the kneazle began to drink. Oh thank goodness. She hadn't noticed the chaos going on around her, so focused she'd been on the tasks at hand. And luckily not close enough to deal with the.... fallout. |
Much as Katy was delighted by being able to handle kneazles, even sick ones, her little heart broke about them being sick. One of them in particular, a little gingery one with a hooked ear, made her heart roll over and die. He was about as far from Miaow as a kneazle could be, since Miaow was glossy and clean and purebred and prissy, and he was slightly feral and definitely not prissy... but he still broke her heart. "Hey little bub," she cooed at him as she knelt beside where the kneazle was curled, feebly licking a paw and just looking miserably. It brought her pleasure to clean out his litter box and change the cloth in his crate. Clean house made the sick feel better already! "Just lay there and be still and I'll take care of you." While she was cleaning, Katy took her wand to the feed bottle. "Scourgify. Don't want my little bub getting sick. He deserves a nice clean home and a nice clean bottle and... oh, sweet baby." Now he was licking her. Ugh, her heart. Could. Not. Take. It. "Just open up, sweet baby bub," Katy fed him two drops, and then a third, of the tonic. Hopefully his fur would be glossy and full once he felt better. Hopefully he'd have some pep in his step. Hopefully he'd feel all better soon. She filled the now-clean bottle with milk and offered it to the kneazle. In spite of the fact it wasn't warmed, he took to it with some enthusiasm. The tonic must be working already! "Sweet boy. C'mere." Katy wrapped him in a blanket and dragged him into her lap. |
Post 3 With all of the litter of her hair, hopefully She made sure the Kneazle was okay. The poor thing did need the litter and other stuff on him. That could make his illness worst. Seeing that everything was okay she finished giving the little one the Kneazle tonic. two more drops, 3 all together "Are you hungry?" She patted the Kneazle on the head and petted him. Maybe she should name him you know just in case she got to keep him, that way he would already have a name. He needed a name no matter what anyway. She would have to come up with a name. Back to the bottle so Mr. No name could eat so he could get heathy and strong again. "Scourgify." Saying the spell with a wave of her wand. Checking to make sure that the bottle was clean enough to use. Ensuring that she could use it she filled the bottle about half way with milk. If the Kneazle finished the milk she would try the liquid food. "Ventus!" Warming up the bottle, with the hot air charm. She checked to make sure it wasn't too hot. Or it would 1) not eat it if it was too hot or 2) burn the Kneazle. Either one wasn't a good thing. It was warm enough. |
Sinead (not quoting because posting from phone >___<) Hopefully there's no more shenanigans happened anymore. Jordan then heard a student calling out his name, perhaps she needed some assistance. "Yes, some disease is just for a specific creatures, like infection. That's because the bacteria that caused it specifically attacked certain species. But cold is pretty common sickness." He explained. Her kneazle didn't want to drink the milk? "Hmmm.... If the kneazle doesn't want to drink the milk, try feeding it with the liquid food instead. Stroke its head before feeding the kneazle. But if it still refused to take the meal, let me know. And don't forget to warm it first. " He checked on the kneazle's condition first and it seemed like the kneazle was doing fine. Maybe it just didn't like milk. |
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! "S-S-SORRY!" A cry that was meant for everyone who had suffered his accidental explosion. It wasn't his fault that OWL level spells were HARD, you know? Or that, although unaware of this himself, that the combination of wood and wand core of his particular wand was especially temperamental and unstable. Combine that with his stutter and, well, the first year really was a well intended walking disaster waiting to happen. "IT WAS-S-S AN ACCIDENT!" So please still be his friend? Quote:
"I'm not afraid to as-s-sk for help, profes-ss-s-sor," he replied sincerely. Because he wasn't. "Just fought I could do the s-s-spell on my own..." But since it seemed that was discouraged...maybe he ought not try ANY of the other spells required this lesson? Quote:
"OWIE!" he yelped, hopping up and down on one foot after his other had come under attack. "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey..." Was for those of the genus Equus... but there were none of those here right now. Bending down to rub his heel, Derf POUTED at the girl and looked back to his kneazle apologetically - who now seemed to be 100000% DONE with him now - and retrieved the kneazle tonic and a bowl of wet food. He could do THIS much without the need of his wand... Setting the food in front of the kneazle, a pleased smile spreading across his face as the creature seems to be eager to eat a little since it was now sniffing it with that LOOK in its eyes, the first year came back around and held the creature in place to administer the tonic. Sometimes...you had to be a TINY bit firm with creatures...same with people. His mum and dad had had to sit on him from time to time to make him take potions when he was sick, so he knew first hand. Ignoring the hissing that came from the tonic administration - really, the creature would thank him later - Derf nudged the bowl of wet food towards the kneazle. "Meow? Meoooooow?" he offered. Because he had no problems hand feeding the creature if that made eating easier. Which seemed to be the case, so into the wet food went his finger and right under the kneazle's nose went said finger. HEHE...its tongue felt funny. Never could get used to that sandpaper texture. |
Post 2 + Kat James looked back at Kat. "What? I'm just doing what the professor told us to do." He grinned cheekily. James already knew when it comes to taking care of creatures such as these...he would act differently towards them. He just couldn't resist their cute but sickly little furry faces. "You're not doing so bad either." He smirked, as he too sneaked a glance at Kat with her sick kneazle. Time to give the little girl her medicine. "Come here, little one..." He picked the kneazle up in one of his arms and administered the tonic. She resisted it at first but relented after much coaxing. He realized it wasn't hard to feed the baby kneazle. It just needs a little encouragement yeah... Next was to clean the baby kneazle's bottle by using the scouring charm."Scourgify,"he cast with his wand. There...her bottle was all new and clean again. "Hungry, baby girl? I'll get some warm milk for ya..."he cooed. He poured the milk midway into the bottle and giving it a little shake once he add the lid on. But James had to glance up again when there was commotion going on at the other corner. He couldn't help but stifle his laugh. He walked to where Kat was with his baby girl still in his arms. "You've got kneazle's doo-doo on your hair..." He waved his wand to help remove all the sand particles. |
6 Charlotte watched her Kneazle drink, seemingly growing stronger as the milk hit its lil tummy. She looked up while it drank, and around at the people she could see from her spot. Whyyy was lil Derfael yelling so much? Good thing the professor was floating around because it meant Char didn't have to worry, not unless Derf or another firstie came to her directly. The slurping noise that indicated the Kneazle was getting to the last little drips in the bottle caught her attention and she smiled down at it. "Time to wrap up warm now I think. And I have a blanket right here for you." She carefully arranged the Kneazle and snugged the blanket around it, stroking its ears until it began a weak purr, exhausted after its little feeding frenzy just now. |
We're doing a BIG 'UN! *dancing around* Olivia's attention was properly on Professor Hernandez as he went through the process of answering questions and addressing the concerns of her peers. As well as dealing with more drama with the young Slytherin and Gryffindor. Sigh. And.... has someone really brought their pet to class? Either way, it seemed she wasn't the only one who'd been curious about the kneazles recovery time. Actually, it was heartwarming how invested her classmates immediately seemed to be. Ever Ace had went as far as inquiring about actually adopting the sick creatures. Considering she already had Gus, Liv tried not to seem to eager about the idea, but... Well, perhaps her ermine could do with a brother or sister. It would certainly give her something else to keep busy with, which was her main goal these days. Keeping busy in whatever ways possible. Also, he'd greenlighted the after-lesson care idea, which Char had shown interest in, as well. And her sweet Harvey. Feeling nothing but Indifference at the smile Char was flashing her way (because she'd been actively avoiding both her and Chloe)... Olivia forced her own enthusiastic expression. Very forced. She was not interested in the idea of having to answer anymore uncomfortable questions. So, if none were asked, that could be okay. Speaking of questions.... ... Before she'd had the chance to ask about XXX adoption and the aforementioned licenses (which seemed silly to her, but she didn't made the rules about these things), other classmates were speaking up and voicing their own queries.... But unfortunately, disaster struck, AGAIN, in the form of the smol Hufflepuff boy known as Derf. And before the professor had had the chance to get around to answering Ace and Katty, too. There may have been others.... but... Well, forgive her distraction, as poop was flying in every which way. Derf had been... trying to clean the litter box? Olivia hadn't been paying attention... but instead of actually clearing away the disgusting litter, the spell had backfired? Without a thought, the Gryffindor magically shielded herself from the excrement, a bit jaded as she stared at said Hufflepuff. Oh, she was sure he hadn't meant to. The poor kid was a stuttering mess, but... Sigh. It was irresponsible to fling poop. Diseases could be caught that way. Her mother had said so. And it was excrement from sick animals. It couldn't be safe... Merlin, she sounded like her mother. If that wasn't enough to disgust and upset herself.... Protected from the literal shh-storm, the Gryffindor went about breaking away from the crowd to finding her own kneazle. One to bond with and perhaps.... adopt very soon; if the Professor could ever get this class in order long enough to have the time to explain. That possibility wasn't looking too good, to be honest............... Oh! A small white and praline colored kneazle!.... And he? she? looked absolutely miserable, and it was no wonder why. It's pin was a mess, but it didn't appear to be old mess. Had this poor thing JUST gotten sick?.... Olivia's heart went out to the creature, at once... Understanding all too well the unpleasant sensation of throwing up. It was the most horrible sensation to ever exist. "It's okay..." Her tone remained low as she very carefully made her approach. Slow and careful, so not to startle it. "I'm not going to hurt you." Nope, she most certainly was NOT. Never, either. "....How about we get this cleaned up... This can't be too comfortable." In fact, the little love could probably do with a warming charm, some soothing blankets... Maybe a few stuffed animals? At fourteen, Liv still felt soothed by all her stuffed dolls at home. Okay, first things, first..... "Let's get this sick cleaned up." Still moving rather slowly, she carefully withdrew her wand, showing it to the creature. "It's just this. No need to be worried." If it was.... She couldn't very well read it's mind, you know?..... Aiming at the chunky pile next to the animal bed, Liv cast a quiet Scourgify.... and then another, just to be safe. As her mother liked to say; things could never be too clean. "See?.... Is that already much better?" She imagined it smelled better, at any rate. Speaking of... Perhaps she'd get that litter box nex, though she was a bit spent on this, given the crisis from before. Eyes on you, Hufflepuff boy.... WHO WAS ALSO SHOUTING.... Liv quickly attempted to shield her patient from the loud noises. Sigh. SIGH. Dude, please shut it up. Cleaning litter boxes, though. As the PROUD owner of an ermine (or stoat, whatever you wanted to call it), Liv knew a thing or two about smelly pet waste. And a quick and efficient way to take care of it. Taking a breath, and a moment to concentrate, she made slow, yet precise movements with her wand. In the hopes that her kneazles wouldn't have a bad reaction. Though, now that she was getting a better look at hers, he (or she) didn't seem to have the strength to fuss about too much. Eh... Still. It made her feel better not to cause it any emotional distress. Close to her heart, that was.... Anyway, clearing the litter away completely (and giving it a little rinse), Liv made to find a fresh batch. That would be in the barn someplace, right? Kept dry... So, dry storage?.... Ah! levitating the bag back, because she didn't think she could physically carry it, in all honesty, the Gryffindor made to top off the litter box; not filling it up completely, as the animal would be using it more now that she wasn't feeling well (and that would've used up a lot of litter quiet quickly).... Hmmm. Economical, you see? Now about this kneazle tonic.... If it was awful, Olivia would not have been able to stomach forcing it down her animal's throat. That wasn't something she was personally down with. So... Um, maybe she just wouldn't do that bit, as she might've had a violent personal response to this herself. Not being dramatic (I know, GASP!), but yeah. That wasn't happening. Sorry, Professor.... And seeing as her little guy or girl had just gotten sick recently, feeding them probably wasn't in the creature's best interest. If their tummy was upset, it wouldn't due to make it sick again, right? Was that good thinking? She wasn't 100% sure... "How about I just get you wiped up and wrap you up in a warm, soft blanket? We can think about food later, when your tummy isn't so icky." Leaving for just a moment to collect the needed supplies: a bucket of warm water, a sponge, a towel....and a few blankets.... the Gryffindor went about dipping the sponge down into the bucket, and then giving her kneazle a little bath. Personally, when she was sick, baths were the absolute best. So... Liv felt confident her kneazle would appreciate one, too. It took several moments.... About twenty (but who was counting?), until she was properly finished; setting both items to the side. "Is that much better? .....You know, my mum used to do this for me when I wasn't feeling that great. She would tell me stories about princesses and princes... And hum my favorite melodies to while I drifted off to sleep." With a small smile, Olivia used a small Ventus charm to provide a little blow-drying action, and then used one of the blankets to properly line the bed. "...and you're a little miss, so I guess I should pick out a name for you, unless you're too cool for that..." Using another of the blankets, she swaddled the kneazle up into a little sushi roll..... "I wanted to give you a plushie to sleep with, but my Transfiguration magic is a bust. I'm so sorry." A point of annoyance for her, but what could she do? "Maybe I'll come back and bring you one of mine." The blonde did have more than her fair share... Perhaps she'd sacrifice one... Maybe even two... ..... "Would you like a story? I could tell you the one about Bambi...." |
It was time to go to work and Janelle was pumped. She entered the barn with her supplies and looked around. Which kneazle would she choose? Seeing a cute little one who was all alone, Janelle went over to him. "Hi there little guy. Looks like you're feeling a little under the weather. Don't worry, I'm going to help you get well.". Following the first and possibly most important step, the Ravenclaw cleaned the area around the kneazle. "Scourgify", she said, making sure her work area was super clean. Once that was done, she changed the drapes. Kneeling down, she moved closer to her patient. "My name is Janelle and I'm going to take very good care of you." Giving him a reassuring pat, she proceeded to continue cleaning. Pointing her wand at the dirty litter box, she said, "Evanesco". With the litter box now empty, Janelle cleaned it. Then she retrieved her fresh kneazle litter and poured it into the box. Just to make sure her gloves were clean, Janelle scourgified them. Now that the cleaning was done, Janelle was ready to move on to the next task. First though, she addressed the kneazle. "What's your name buddy? Do you have one?" Janelle didn't know whether or not the Professor named all of the animals. She'd have to ask him. "I'll just call you Buddy for now." Next on the list was the tonic. Janelle grabbed a dropper and the tonic. Then she drew some of liquid into the dropper. "Don't be afraid little one. I'm going to give you some medicine to make you feel better." Janelle was being very careful, she didn't want to startle the animal. "Open up baby", she said. Janelle put the dropper near the kneazles mouth. He wasn't exactly opening, but he wasn't resisting it either. With a little bit of maneuvering, she was able to get the dropper partially into Buddy's mouth. She gave it one squeeze. When he began to swallow, Janelle followed up with two more squeezes. "Does that taste good?", she asked the kneazle. Janelle took a moment to cuddle the kneazle. Now that they were friends, she felt safe in picking him up. Holding her baby, she soothingly stroked his fur. "You know what? A little food in your stomach will make you feel even better. Time to eat." Gently setting the kneazle in her lap, Janelle picked up the feeding bottle. "Scourgify", she said, preparing the bottle for her Buddy's meal. She decided that she would give him milk and poured some into the little bottle. Buddy secure in her lap, Janelle directed her wand toward the bottle and said, "Ventus" Janelle knew a little bit about feeding babies, so she squirted a little milk onto her wrist. The milk was warm and not hot, which was good. Wouldn't want to burn the baby's mouth. Janelle picked the kneazle up and cradled him gently. Then she put the bottle up to his mouth, hoping for the best. Thank Merlin her patient was cooperative. He opened his mouth with a little prodding and began to suck from the bottle. "Good job! Let's drink all of your milk little one." Janelle held the kneazle as he slowly drank from his bottle. With a little coaxing, he was able to finish the entire thing. Janelle continued to pet her new friend and then placed a blanket on top of him. He seemed nice and cozy in her lap and soon fell asleep. Glad that he had eaten and was now resting, Janelle sat quietly with her Buddy. She was definitely going to have to come back to visit him. Now that she was his personal nurse, she could not rest until she knew that he was all better. |
"...........And then, though his mother had been stolen away in a horrendous series of events, Bambi decided to search out his true father, The Great Prince.".... Olivia had been dramatically recalling the story with all the appropriate soft tones and character voices... Though, whether or not her kneazle really understood what she was carrying on about, there was no way to know. It was decidedly cathartic for her, as well... delving down into a Disney tale to pass the time and soothe another living soul. "The Great Prince took pity on him, because Bambi had been unaware that he was his father. Could you imagine? Living all those years and not knowing..." It had made her sad at one time... but then again, Olivia boasted the best father that had ever existed. She was... So lucky, so fortunate, so grateful.... "Are you comfortable?" Running her fingers down the kneazle's ear, Liv smiled. "You're an adorable little lady, aren't you?" Maneuvering, she laid right there on the ground with her kneazle. She didn't care too much about her school robes, to be honest. That's what the laundry was for... The lesson was about to end, wasn't it? |
Ah, now he understood. It's not wrong if Derfael wanted to try the spells but some people have their limits, right? He's still a first year while Evanesco is a OWL-level spell. "You have plenty of time to master the spell, don't worry." Again he patted the ickle Hufflepuff's shoulder. Jordan appreciated that he was eager to try the spell, although he failed. Another student seemed interested in adopting the kneazle too. "Yes, Miss Delgado. If you're interested to adopt one, we should talk about it in my hut sometime later. You too, Mr. Salander." He said to the potential adopter. The CoMC Professor checked his watch. Merlin. "Okay, students. Time's up!" He announced to them. "Thank you for coming to the class today, you can still visit the kneazles sometime outside the class. And if some of you still want to finish treating them, I will give you time." Unless they had another class to attend. He didn't want his colleagues complaining about late students because of the activity in his lesson. "For those who has finished, you can leave the barn. Leave the supplies, boots and the mask at the front door. Don't forget to wash your hands." OOC: Yay, thanks for attending the lesson guys! I will leave this thread opened for 24 hours for you who still wants to post their characters leaving/continuing the work. |
post threeeee, finishing up Quote:
Right, now it was time for that kneazle tonic. Natalie got the little vial of tonic and gave the kneazle a few drops, making a face as she did so. It wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, but... it was still a kneazle. So, the kneazle was fed and her area was clean. The tonic was given and the poo had been scooped. Natalie finished up by fluffing up the kneazle's blankets and making sure it was nice and warm. Once she was all finished, she grabbed her supplies and returned them to where they belonged and threw away her gloves and her mask. Now, she was going to go take a long, HOT shower. |
Post 2 The lesson was finishing up, but Brent still had a little more work to do. His first order of business was cleaning himself up after that whole litter pan cleaning he had to do. Yeah, he knew he'd just get dirty again, but this was poop he'd been dealing with. He at least wanted that off! He did a quick clean before decided he should give a kneazle a few drops of that tonic. He headed over and collected the tonic then set about trying to find a kneazle that still looked a little under the weather. Most were starting to look pretty good by now. There was one in the corner, though, that still looked a little rough. "Hey, girl," he said, walking slowly up to her. He slowly guided his hand toward her to gain her trust. When she looked like she was okay with him being there, he got a little closer. "This might make you feel better," he said, and he lifted the tonic to her mouth. She surprisingly allowed him to give her a few drops. When he was done, he pet her for a bit before needing to walk away. "You feel better, girl." |
Post 3 Etta finished feeding the kneazle after a little while, still murmuring softly and feeling so very glad that it was already looking way better than it was. That felt good, yes. Still grinning stupidly, she wrapped the kneazle around with a blanket, hoping that it felt snug and warm. Aw, was it falling asleep? EEEEP. Wasn't that the CUTEST? "I'm going to visit you often, okay?" Etta got up finally, now that she'd finished all the tasks, wondering what to do? Was class over? Could they leave? Or not? She shrugged before bending down to pat the creature again, deciding that she might as well spend more time with the kneazle. |
post 2 Uh oh. She was so focused on being unhappy that she had fallen behind. Okay okay, there was so much to do. So Zoryn RAN and looked at the little kneazles. ”Hi, I’m gonna make you feel ALL BETTER!” It’d be LOADS of fun. So she picked one up and properly held it all snuggly and close. Okay, okay. First set of instructions. Kneazle tonic. She could SO do that. Uh, where’s the tonic? No, you know what?! Kneazle tonic sounded nasty. She’d skip that step. ”You don’t want medicine, right?” the Kneazle didn’t answer because it was a kneazle. Instead, she made her way to grab a blanket for it. And burrito-ed it up all warm and snug. There, perfect. The next thing on the list was the scouring charm…. Which… Zoryn didn’t know how to do yet. Sooooooooooooooo….. She set the kneazle down (and luckily it started taking a snooze) and walked over to where she had washed her hands. Manual washing was even better than MAGIC washing. Zoryn thought, anyways. One clean bottle coming right up!!! Once the bottle was clean, she walked back to her lil’ snug and filled the bottle up with milk. Again, she didn’t know how to preform the hot air charm… So instead she just straight up tried to feed it the milk. What an adventure. |
part 2 Changing the bedding sand of the Kneazles was surprisingly fun. After she was done changing the sand, she realized that the Kneazle had wandered off during the middle of her cleaning. "Where are you?" she asked, staring after the Kneazles, trying to find one that was not occupied with any student. She saw one wandering around at the edge of the barn and decided that must be him. They made eye contact, and to Kitty's surprise that prompted him to walk back towards her. "Scourgify." The bottle was now cleaned. She filled it with milk just as the Kneazle arrived. "Come here cutie," Kitty cooed, bending down and tentatively extending her hands towards the Kneazle. It stared at them curiously before allowing her to pick him up. Then he began to drink up the milk. |
Post #3, finishing up So this particular kneazle appeared to be a little bit temperamental. Or maybe it just didn't like medicine, which, to be honest, was perfectly understandable to her. Daisy had tried to pet and snuggle it into submission but the most she could give him was one drop of tonic because the fussing became too much. Okay, one drop would do? Professor Hernandez had said these kneazles were on the road to recovery already, right? So what was the difference? She definitely needed to set down the little creature before she prepared the next task, though, so she softly set it inside its litter. "I'll be right back, little buddy. Promise!" As fast as she could, she went to retrieve the feeding bottle and scourgified. She couldn't really remember how to cast an hot air charm so cold milk would have to do! After filling the clean, but cold, bottle, Daisy moved back towards her kneazle and once more picked it up. Then she softly rocked it as it drank up the milk. So, it didn't like the tonic but it did like the milk and Daisy smiled at that. Smart kneazle definitely knew what was good for him! After a while, the creature seemed to have enough of milk and stopped gurgling it down, so Daisy set the bottle down and got a warm, fluffy blanket. Oooh. These were really good? She was half-tempted to steal one, but she rather thought the Professor would catch her so, instead, she wrapped the fabric around the kneazle like she had seen her Mum do to her younger siblings. Perfect! Now it was all tucked in, fed and cosy. Whispering a few parting words to the sick kneazle, the Slytherin carefully laid it down on its litter and went to get ready to leave. Gloves and mask off, she thoroughly washed her hands and finally swapped back into her uniform shoes. All done then. |
Part 3? Sinead couldn't say she'd ever choose the suspicious looking "liquid food" over good honest milk, but then she wasn't a kneazle, so what did she know? She thanked the professor, quickly refilling her bottle and warming it once more. She wiggled this enticing new offering at the kneazle and it seemed to perk up a little, crawling hesitantly towards her. It took a couple of minutes of sitting calmly and patiently until she apparently regained the kitten's trust, but eventually it sat beside her once more and took a good drink of the liquid food, seeming to become sleepier by the second as it drank. It was practically falling over itself by the time it finished; its floppy, sleepy little body was easy to cover in a blanket and she laid it carefully in its bed to rest, feeling a little tender towards it. Okay, it was hard to resist a baby kneazle's cuteness, even as a self-professed animal disliker. With the kneazle taken care of, Sinead bid farewell to her professor and made her way out of the class, pausing to wash her hands (very) thoroughly on the way out. If every COMC lesson could be like that, maybe she'd keep the subject on after all. |
Post 3 The next item on the list was a pretty easy one, which Brent was happy about. After cleaning out those litter pans first and foremost, anything on the list seemed easier and better. Brent took everything out of his hands except for his wand, which he gripped firmly in his right hand. Time to clean some feeding bottles. He just hoped they weren't disgusting and nasty from the previous feeding. Why did they even need cleaning? Was it just to make sure they were sanitized, or did they still have dried up, old food in them? Brent approached the bottles with caution. Looking them over, he saw that they were pretty much clean, so this was just a sanitation issue after all. GOOD. Brent began the process of cleaning the bottles and getting them ready for the next feeding. "Scourgify!" he said, as he worked on the cleaning. "Scourgify!" Pretty soon, Brent had the bottles looking good and ready for the feeding. |
Post four Giving James nod, of thanks and a big smile. He was doing a great job as far as she could see. She gave him a thumbs up, just a thumbs up, she was too focused on taking care of the kneazle. Hopefully the kneazle would eat. She knew that it was hard to eat sometimes when you didn't feel good. Puttting the bottle up to it's mouth she waiting for the kneazle to take it. "Come on, baby. You got to eat so you will get better." That would be the best thing for kneazle right now. She kept trying to get the kneazle to take it. With a frown she tried to think another way to get him to eat. Maybe he needed to be more comfortable. Sitting the bottle down she got the blanket and wrapped the kneazle in the blanket. Giving him the bottle again. This time he took it. Great now that her kneazle was on the road to recovery. She let him eat while she rocked him. Seeing that James again she grinned. "Thanks. I had to make sure the kneazle, didn't get any on him." That would have been bad. Shaking off the the little wasn't enough apparently. She chuckled. Watching the little kneazle eat. It was like he was getting better already. Oh man, time was up. She would just hang around until the kneazle finished all of his food, then she would clean up and leave. |
Post 4 Dinnerrrrr time! Brent could handle this part of taking care of sick animals. He just bet they were messy eaters, but it wasn't like Brent was some girly girl. He was a guy, and this part of getting messy was no big deal for him. What did they eat anyway? He had kind of failed to figure that one out. Looking around, he saw somebody else bottle feeding with milk, so he decided to go that route. Sounded good to him. He filled two of the bottles with milk then headed back to the same creature he'd worked with a few minutes ago. He used his wand to heat the bottles to a nice temperature then took a seat next to the creature. "What's up, girl? You remember me?" he asked her. She must have, because she leaned her head down for him to pet her...which he did. He then lifted the bottle to her mouth and let her drink. He just chilled in silence while she polished off a bottle. It took a while, but he figured it was because she was sick. When she nudged the second bottle with her nose, Brent decided to feed her that one, as well. This was a pretty cool animal. He'd have to come back and see her from time to time. |
post 3 Cutie Patootie lil' kneazle was all safe and snug in the blanket. Zoryn was proud of her work. Except for the fact that she didn't give the poor little kitten medicine... But uh, the Professor wouldn't notice right? PLUS it's not like it'd make a HUGE difference. The kneazle didn't even look that awful. Plus, mother always said that it was better to get well NATURALLY without medicine. So YEAH. Totally justifiable. Anyways. Zoryn gave the little kneazle a nuzzle and a few scratches behind it's ear before laying it down with the rest of it's family. Could she leave now? Because she was still kinda upset. And needed to SULK AND BE DRAMATIC about it, OKAY?? Because she wasn't allowed to be dramatic here and SHE NEEDED to have her time. So with that, she took off the mask and boots and didn't say goodbye to her Professor. Because she was still upset with him. Mhm. |
