After you have been roughly assessed by Healer Reed, you will be assigned to a bed for further examination. Here, Healer Reed will examine you further, ask you questions about how you got your injury or illness, and administer his initial treatment. Dividers will be drawn from both sides, so you, the patient, can have some privacy.
Aside from the standard issued bed, Healer Reed took the liberty of providing steel chairs for your visitors. These are not meant to be comfortable, because your visitors are not meant to stay long. Apart from the chairs, there are two bedside tables where you can place your belongings. On one of the tables, there is a pitcher of clean water and glass for you to use; not all tinctures and healing potions have good taste. For those who will be staying overnight, a set of sterile pyjamas and a pair of clean socks are stowed away in one of the bedside tables. These are charmed to adjust and fit the patient.
OOC: Please do not post in this thread, unless you have been directed by Healer Reed to do so. Thank you.

SPOILER!!: Rose and River! <3

The Healer shook his head as he took off Rose's shoe and placed her injured foot on top of his right knee and started to clean her wound. "I wouldn't say I missed your company if it meant you having an injury first. I do care about my colleagues and friends you see," he said tossing the gauze with a gentle antiseptic, and applied a damp cloth soaked in murtlap essence next. "Given that the wound was fresh, there's a small chance of infection. Besides, I think the puppy's not a stray crup, yes?" he asked as he waited for the wound to heal and disappear.

I hope this wasn't an inconvenience when there are so many children that need your care."
At least she would be out of here shortly?
She got an amused look from River but Kay didn’t think twice on it. She was much too worried and still slightly guilty. “I’m sure you have. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to doubt you.’’ River was a rather capable Healer. Why else would he be employed here at Hogwarts? “You’re right. Her best friend make you face her wrath.’’ She laughed softly. Obviously River was referring to Gaston but Kay couldn’t help making a little joke. Maybe it was just to make herself feel better.
Wait, there was still a chance of infection? Kay’s expression turned to one of shock but perhaps that wasn’t best right now. She didn’t want to make Rose worry more than what she was probably worrying now. “No, she’s not a stray. She’s well taken care of thanks to Jordan.’’

River chuckled as he tossed the used antiseptic cloth aside, and began treating Rose's wound. "I am actually surprised he hasn't barged in yet," he said taking a glance at the double doors of the Hospital Wing. He'd seen how worked up Gaston can be, and he thought a small bite would've sent the man flying across their shared corridor.
With the wound instantly healed, River wiped up the excess essence off her foot and placed Rose's sock and shoe back. "Ah, don't mention it. It's my job to see that everyone is in tip-top shape...including you two." he said giving both of his colleagues a warm smile. "Oh and before I let you go, you have to drink this...just in case the 1% of infection found its way to your system." he added, offering Rose a phial of cleansing potion.

"Kay...relaaax." River gave her a good natured chuckle in return just to put his colleague at ease. He understood the initial panic that Kay got, considering that she'd been witness to the accident.
River nodded his head in understanding as he sat on the other bed and waited for Rose to finish her potion. "That's a relief. Stray crups need time to adjust their diets and to take cleansing potions after adoption. It's a good thing your crup is under Jordan's care. At least we know it's being fed with clean food and such." he said, nodding in relief. "You still have to take all precautions, Rose. Not that I doubt Jordan, but I would like your bases to be covered. A bite is a bite, after all." he continued giving both women a small lecture.

It was good to see that Kay still had a sense of humor despite everything. "See, everything will be okay." Though Rosalyn had to smile. It really was funny though of course River had been referring to Gaston. She knew that her best friend would be there for her always, in the same way that she would be there for Kay if anything happened.
"Well, he hasn't barged in because I haven't told him yet. I know how protective he is of me, and I didn't want to make him worry needlessly." Because yeah... not that hard to treat. River was already taking care of everything as they spoke. "Well, then I guess it's a good thing that I wanted to be extra careful despite the fact that I trust Jordan when it comes to animal care." Obviously that wasn't even an issue; she had known the man since their Hogwarts days. "Bottoms up," she added before downing the potion.

Relax. Yes, she had better do that, hadn’t she? And cracking a joke, albeit a bad one, had helped her a little. “It was just malarkey,’’ she admitted to Rose. Meaning, she had said whatever her brain had processed. Kay smiled back at River. He was being really understanding about this. But then again, he had seen much worse injuries. “Drink that up, Rose. Then we’ll get going if it’s okay with River.’’
She nodded. “Yes, Marshmallow is well taken care of. I hadn’t thought of all that because I was panicking.’’ Clearly panicking was not a good thing. Kay was mildly offended in regards to the comment about Jordan. “Jordan always does an excellent job when it comes to the creatures.’’ And, yes. She knew River was just being cautious. She smiled a little again. “I’ll just have to keep Marshy away from Rose for now. Thanks for your help, River.’’

Really it wasn't that bad.
River quietly disposed the rest of the used supplies, and sat next to the empty bed crossing his arms across his chest and watched the two ladies interact, a good-natured grin on his face. Cuts, not too deep bites by a clean crup was something that a student can do so really, there was no reason for worrying. The man understood the whole panic thing of course, considering how close the two looked.
River chuckled and scratched his brow in amusement, "You have to tell him about this though. I'm sure Gaston would be more upset if you didn't." It did seem shallow, but River has friends who are just like the Charms professor, therefore, hiding something as minuscule as this from them would be a huge deal.

River nodded, as he watched Rose empty the phial. "Don't worry about the potion. It's just to cover all our bases, and to make sure I won't have to answer to Gaston." he said allowing a laugh escape his mouth, "By now you should know how thorough I am with curing my patients as well." It was something to keep in mind really because he wanted his patients to trust him fully.
"Merlin, Kay. I'm starting to think that you need a huge dose of Calming Draught for all the panicking." River chuckled and shook his head. "It's wise to stay calm when accidents happen because you wouldn't want a situation turn for the worse..." Was it some sort of foreshadowing? Maybe, considering that they were in Hogwarts. And...what what's up with the sudden defensive tone coming from Miss Stewart? Could it be...?
Well, one thing is for sure. He ought to go out of the Hospital Wing more often. If only these kids could stop feigning fake illnesses then he would've had the time to interact with students outside...and with his colleagues. "You should ask about Jordan if it's actually advisable to keep Marshy away from Rose. The crup is still a puppy and perhaps its hostility towards Rose could lessen as it grows older?" Just a suggestion, given that he too undertook a minor in magical creatures medicine while in university.
