SPOILER!!: olly and noelle They had so many good ideas. But they hadn't really wrote anything down. So as the other two talked, Hattie tried to quickly jot down everything that they were talking about. She wanted to make sure they had all of their notes down, so that they could have all of their ideas in one place. She wanted to see all of their cool ideas so that they could have one really good idea. "Each hippogriff having some sort of item of attire that shows off it's team is a really good idea" The blonde nodded as she smiled at the other two. "I wonder if there could be locality teams, like in quidditch and then each one can have their own color? And everyone would know what team it is" But yes. She agreed with Olly. "A max number is good. We don't want it going on forever" |

"Good! " Leon was going to miss being here with her next term, but he knew they would be together soon, and he had something that he wanted to give her to let her know he was serious about her.. However! Class time! "Rainbow soccer sounds perfect to me! And yes! I like that idea.. I was thinking of the ball giving you a shock if you use the wrong appendage, but a point to the other team is much safer.. " He said with a grin.. and he scribbled down more notes! SPOILER!!: Notes Leon looked thoughtfully at Juno.. "Maybe no brooms.. I don't know about wands.. " |
Hattie and Olly Thank Merlin for Hattie who was beginning to write things down too. She smiled at her and looked back at Olly. Opps. She'd thought wrong. "Oh I like that plan better. So a limit of 20 riders and hippogriffs??" Plus Hattie's thoughts were right on point. "Yes! Exactly!" She grinned. "What about rules??" She asked looking between the both of them. "We obviously don't want the hippogriffs hurt." That was the main thing. The most important. "So like, no fighting or such." |

"Basically with Monopoly you roll a dice and you have this markers - a car, a hat, a thimble - though we could use items like a broomstick or a wand for our version. And you move your marker around a square board and try to monopolize different places. With Hogwartsopoly, it would be different places in Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade or the castle ... or we could even use places around London." Sky explained, trying to think how to incorporate sports into it. "We could have these chance cards which have more magical things that happen, like maybe involve magical transport ... or even when you land on a square, you actually go to that place . Or appear to at least... obviously the age on the game needs to be at least 10 to adult. And number players at least two, but as many people as you want could play?" |

"So were you thinking maybe a dice based game? Or something with a spinner or something?" Kane couldn't think of many games that weren't based around muggle technology... |

Leon was the best. He always knew how to make her feel better, and how to make her feel loved...though they hadn't said that yet. Just the thought made her face flush a little. But this wasn't the time or place... Juno grinned at that idea, "Yeah probably a little safer than getting a shock." Juno watched as he filled out the rest of the information about the sport they were creating. She thought for a moment, "Yeah your probably right. And what would they do with their wands anyway?" She couldn't think of anything that would actually be feasible to add to the game. "I think it sounds great. Should we pitch it to someone else now?" There wasn't much else they could add, unless they had another ball similar to a Snitch but then...what would they do with it? |
*catching up* x3 Ohhh they get to make their own game? The Curly Top rumaged through his bag for some more parchment when he came across his deck of cards.... Oh! He grabbed his parchment and that deck of cards, laying them both on the table. Heck if he knew enough advanced magic he can probably create a prototype of this game right here right now. But right, game mechanics first... Text Cut: The Game Tenacius sat back into his seat. He was done right? Well probably a few more details that hasnt occurred to him yet but yeah this was the basics of it. Now if he can just figure out how to make his own deck of Exploding Snap cards work the way he wants it to. |
Text Cut: Skylar Brent followed the conversation between Nat and Skylar then tried to take more notes as Skylar answered his questions. His quill moved almost faster than he could keep up with as he tried to make notes about everything she said. Merlin, she could talk. "Alright, so this is what I've got," he said to them. "The name is Hogwartsopology. It's based on the Muggle game Monopoly, but it's based on our wizarding world." He read over his notes to make sure he'd got it all down correctly, then added, "It's aimed toward...kids our age? I really didn't know what to put there, but I guess anybody could play it." "...and if I understood correctly, the game board has these little squares on it, and we move our pieces around the board of squares. The pieces resemble our wizarding world--brooms, wands, stuff like that," he continued, as he read what he'd wrote. "So what's the goal here? To get the most money and claim the most property?" What We Have So Far Name: Hogwartsopoly Targeted group of people: I guess kids our age Positions: People will claim pieces that resemble brooms, wands, etc. Equipment: Board game with squares that you navigate while trying to claim areas for yourself and earn more money (fake wizarding money) |
Rula loved working in groups, but it seemed like most of the others had grouped up fairly quickly, so she decided to work alone this time. That was okay too though! She didn't mind. Although it did make it a little more difficult to come up with a new sport, not having someone else to bounce ideas off of. So she sat there for several minutes, flipping through her textbook at first to see if anything sparked an idea, then absentmindedly playing with the ring on her finger for a few minutes... Oh! Her ring... Maybe rings could be a part of a sport? Like...a ring toss. But it needed to be more exciting than just that, and when she thought of an exciting sport, Quidditch always came to mind...so maybe some sort of Quidditch-like ring toss. People could fly around on brooms, trying to throw these giant rings onto giant poles. And maybe the poles could be different heights and worth a different amount of points, depending on which one you got rings on. Yeah! She hurriedly scribbled down her ideas. Text Cut: Rula's notes Hmm...that looked like enough, right? She wasn't entirely sold on the name and was having some trouble with coming up with the right one, but that would have to do for now since she was running out of time. So now she just needed to convince someone it was a good idea? |
SPOILER!!: Hattie and Noelle Olly was glad the girls were writing things down. He'd started with a few things but had gotten a little lost now that they were getting into the more complicated aspects. He wouldn't even know how to write it out but he trusted them to properly describe their game. And he liked the idea of something to signify teams. "If there are a lot of teams we might run out of colors, but there can still be something. Maybe stripes or polka dots if there are a lot?" Just a suggestion. There were a lot of colors, he knew that, but not a lot of popular colors. There could be a team that was cerulean or something but that wasn't really a typical team color. Rules, right. "Maybe there's a certain distance they have to be away from each other," he suggested. That would keep the Hippogriffs away from each other and prevent fighting. "And the people riding them can't use their wands to sabotage the other riders or anything. It's all about the racing." |
Time was running out, and it seemed that no one was really ready to share their ideas with the class. Rosalyn felt that it was probably a good idea to cut that portion out since it wouldn't be fair to cut them points because class was over before they could finish. That was when Rooney spoke up. She nodded. "Not to worry. We are out of time and since it seems that no one has really gotten to that point, I will not make it required after all." So no, they would not lose points because they didn't have time to share ideas. She would just have to adjust her grading rubric slightly. "If everyone could wrap up and hand in what they have completed, you are free to go." She smiled at the class. "Thanks for the great lesson, and I hope you all have a good rest of the day." Did it even need to be said that sne was available if anyone wanted to talk? Rosalyn hoped not! She hoped they knew that by now. OOC: Thanks for the amazing lesson, guys! Really enjoyed it! Class is over now, but I will leave this thread open for a bit so that people have a chance to wrap up if they wish. |
Juno heard the professor call time just as they were ready to present it to someone else. "Oh, well. At least we wont lose points. I will turn it in for us." She said to Leon with a wink and smile. She quickly wrote their names and houses at the top, and then rolled the parchment up, tying it with a white ribbon. SPOILER!!: Assignment Juno packed up her stuff and headed towards the professor. She gently laid the assignment on her desk. Nervously she asked, "Um, Professor? Is there anyway we could talk after class?" She felt really bad about what she did and wanted to talk to her about it privately so she could explain her lapse in judgement. |
Rosalyn smiled as she accepted the work from Juno. It was not a real surprise that the girl wanted to talk to her after class. Even though this was a prefect, the others in the classroom would be able to carry out the job and do it splendidly. Then Juno could go about her day as normally as possible given the circumstances. "Of course. Let's head to my office." This wouldn't take long. |
