Another class. Woooohoo!

Etta casually walked into the classroom, a big smile on her face. For some reason, she was in a very good mood, not that it was a bad thing. She turned to look at the professor, her smile turning into a wide grin. "Hello, professor. Hope you're doing well."

She took a seat somewhere near the front, dropped her bag to the floor and sat down. ... OOOOH. She was actually quite late to class, noticing all the students around her for the first time. Thankfully, class hadn't started yet. What a relief.

History of magic was probably Katerina's least favorite of her favorites subjects. It wasn't that she hated it, she just didn't particularly care for the extreme extra effort that she had to put into remembering all of the dates and people's names in history. At lease she adored the professor lady Professor Newton.

She headed into the classroom, "Hello professor Newton." She headed around to find a seat. But something even better than taking a seat.

Cookies! She grabbed two star shaped cookies.One for now and the other one for later. Or maybe for her boyfriend. hehe Of course it had to be a star shaped one. "Thanks Professor." Beaming at her as she found a seat. Seeing Etta she smiled at her dormmate as she plopped down beside. "Hi friend." Oh no she didn't get a cookie. She looked at the cookies in her hand, and slid one over to her. She was used to sharing with her, they were dorrmmates.

When Janelle arrived for History of Magic class, she was a little taken aback. Entering the classroom, she paused and looked at her watch. She wasn't late, but the room was almost full. "Hello Professor Newton ", she said cheerfully. Janelle's smile grew wider when she saw Christmas cookies on the Professor's desk. Nothing like a little sugar to get the brain working.

When she reached the professor's desk, Janelle selected two delicious looking cookies. "Thank you Professor. You must have read my mind." Janelle hadn't exactly been thinking of cookies, but food wasn't far from her mind. On cue, her stomach growled, as if to say........feed me. The seventh year found an empty seat and slid into it. She hurried and got her things ready for class, then she began to nibble on her cookies. They would keep her busy until class started.

Finally, the handsome Ravenclaw came in to the classroom. She was starting to worry something had happened to him. But he was here and that was all that mattered. She smiled when he grabbed a cookie. She had grabbed like five and he only grabbed one. She could share....maybe.

She nudged his shoulder with her own when he sat down next to her, and gave him a big smile. "Hey. I think you need more cookies." She gave him two of her five, grinned and then bit one of her remaining three in half.

Natalia headed for the History of Magic classroom. She was eagerly waiting winter break. She and Roman had plans and she just wanted to be away fro a few weeks. Nerves were starting to get the best of her for her auditions as well. As she walked into the room her eyes caught the snacks, but she passed. She didn't understand why they were always trying to feed the students. First the snacks and class and this term all the food places all over the castle. It just made no sense when the Great Hall had the house elves and great food.

"Hello Professor." She gave a small smile before finding her seat. Wow, was she one of the last ones to get to class today? It seemed packed already. She waved at everyone except the headboy .

Her cloak was on the back of her chair, her textbook was on the table along with her parchment and her quill and her shortbread cookie was laying on her lap, waiting for the moment she deemed it safe to eat it. All in all, Daisy was fully prepared to snooze during the next two hours or something. Well, actually that was a bit unfair. Her interest in the History of Magic lessons greatly depended on the subject matter.

Unfortunately, she had no idea what this lesson would be about but the last lesson had been a bit on the side of boring. Well, she said a bit...

OH, she had a companion!

Daisy's face brightened up with a grin when she recognised the boy that had sat next to her. Her Yeti escaping partner YAY! "How d'you do, Captain?" She asked with a chuckle at his choice of words. Okaaaay.

Was a pirate now?

History of Magic tiiiiime. Katy pranced into the room on the falls of her feet and gave the professor a broad smile. History was a fairly interesting subject, and definitely one that Katy felt she had lots left to learn, and if the professor could manage to hold her attention, it would all be good.

"Good day to you, Professor. How are you?"

History of Magic? Olivia darted into the classroom and noticed that the class was already pretty full. She slowed down and grinned at the Professor. "Hello Professor!" she nodded. Then she glanced back the almost full classroom. Since when did people arrive early to classes? And then she remembered that this was Hogwarts where everyone was super early and not Beauxbatons when people were fashionably on time late.

Woah, lots of people. Ahem. She meant Merlin.... Merlin, she could have almost been late to this class. She quickly saw Etta and headed towards her friend. Yay! Etta. They were still going to New Zealand, right? Hopefully one day. "How's it going?" she asked, plopping down in the seat next to her friend.

It had been a few days...but Olivia was finally out of the infirmary...with explicit instructions to take it easy over the new couple of weeks. Needless to say, she'd have to sit out activities during more practical subjects in the curriculum, but the most important thing was that.... Liv had actually been sleeping again. And this was probably evident in the way she entered the History of Magic classroom; still a bit sluggish and tired from too much sleep all at once, but...in much better spirits.

Also, makeup hadn't been needed to conceal bags beneath her eyes that morning... and there was a bit more color in her cheeks.

With a quiet hello to Professor Newton, the blonde opted to take a seat in the very back of the room, eyes averted from her peers. This was so that she could focus more on taking notes...and not how totally embarrassed she was over the scene that had been made. Not intentionally, but... her body, you know? Fatigue and malnourishment, apparently, took heavy tolls on the system...

No treats for her, thank you. Her digestive system was sensitive right now.

"Hi, friend." Etta greeted her friend cheerfully. "What have you been up to?" Now that Kat had a new boyfriend and all, Etta didn't see her around as often. And YAY! A cookie. Her dorm-mate was already familiar with her love for food, apparently. "Thanks!"

Etta beamed as Ols sat down next to her too! This was awesome. So if class got too boring or dull, she had her friends to talk to. "Not bad, not bad. Busy with studies, I guess. What about you? How are things with you?" Any updates, hmm?

Olivia beamed at Etta and nodded at her friend's comment on busy with studies. Weren't they all? To Olivia, she felt that her free moments always ended disappearing on her. Oh well! "Things are better than they have been! I ended up going to the Hospital Wing a while ago. Had a run in with Peeves and Miffy. That wasn't fun at all!" she said with a nod. "But things are good!" No updates anywhere else. There were some cute boys but she doubted if they were interested in her. She was probably a bit of a handful and way too clumsy for any guy around here. Ah well. "Any boys?" she leaned over to her friend, wiggling her eyebrows. Teehee.

And there was another girl (Kat) by Etta. Oh hai! New friend perhaps? Any friend of Etta's would certainly be a friend of hers. "Hey there! I'm Olivia," she beamed, poking her head around Etta to make sure that she could see the other girl. More friends were great!

Ohhhh History class all nice and toasty....

This was most welcomed by the Gryffindor Prefect. For some reason ever since he got out from that STRANGE Hogwarts thing he seemed to be more sensitive to the cold. And then of course theres this lovely Scottish winter. Brrr.

"Goodmorning Professor Newton!" he greeted the brunette Professor with a cheerful grin as per his usual, then grabbed the vacant seat next to the Head Girl.

As students arrived, Rosalyn gave each of them a smile and friendly greeting. It always made her happy to see her students even if some clearly did not share her passion for history. That was perfectly okay because everyone was different. At least most of them enjoyed the cookies, though poor Mr Ashburry-Hawthorne seemed rather unsure about the whole thing. Fortunately Miss Kettleburn explained things to him. Hopefully that was reassuring though it was okay if he continued to be unsure of her snacks; constant vigilance and all that.

When her watch showed that it was time for class to begin, she headed the door and closed it. Anyone who arrived after this point would lose points. Something that Rosalyn never liked doing, but it was important for students to be on time so that they could learn and not interrupt the rest of the class.

"Good morning everyone," she said as she made her way over to the blackboard. "I will start the lesson by asking: what do you all know about Hogwarts? It can be anything at all. " Rosalyn always liked to start off by seeing how much they knew about the subject matter, and she was sure that they could come up with some great facts about the school that they attended.

OOC: I'm sooo sorry for the post length, guys! I was working on a reply with individual greetings when my internet cut. I have to use my phone and I just don't have the time or energy for that. Rosalyn has said hi to you all though!

Class will continue in approximately 24 hours. Keep in mind that any arrivals after this point will result in IC consequences, so it's better to pretend that you have been here all along.

Leon grinned widely as Juno nudged him back and he smiled as she offered him more cookies.. "I'll never say no to more food. " The seventh year said with a grin as he accepted the treats from her and gently squeezed her hand.

"Thank you. " He whispered as he gently squeezed her hand.

He was smiling down at her, looking into her bright blue eyes when the Professor started class and Leon turned his attention, albeit reluctantly towards the Professor.

His hand went into the air as he prepared to answer her question.

"You can't apparate inside of it. " Which was kind of a bummer, seeing as he could, also it had a portal to an alternate Hogwarts with a scary shadow monster..

But you know.. No need to say that out loud.

Still ignoring Dora, the sixth year closed his History of Magic book and looked up when the Professor started the lesson. He was glad for it because a smiling Dora creeped him out, especially cause he knew how quick that smile could turn. Also, now she couldn't force a conversation with him.

He raised his hand after listening to the question. "The school is hidden by magic. When a muggle sees the school they will see a ruin with signs that tell them its dangerous. And i imagine that if they do come closer cause some people ignore warning signs, they probably end up walking in circles, never getting closer until they give up" okay so that last bit wasn't a fact, just his thoughts. And he liked saying his thoughts out loud.

...Was that why Dora had punched him weeks ago?? Ugh why did he not get it?!

Hospital wing? Etta turned to look at her friend, feeling concerned. "Are you alright? Were you hurt?" She whispered softly, careful not to disturb the other people in class. That was a little scary, though.

...... UHM. What? Boys? HER? Yeah, right. Etta raised an eyebrow, looking slightly incredulous. She found it problematic to even talk to boys, honestly. "Really, Olivia? No... there is one nice-looking boy but.. no." She nudged her friend, smirking just a liiittle bit. "You? Do I need to know anything?" ALSO. Were they having a boy conversation in the middle of class?

And yeah, introductions too. Etta had forgotten about that. "Kat, Olivia." She grinned and leaned back against her seat.

.... and class had started! What did they know about Hogwarts? Etta raised a hand and answered. "Well.. it was founded by four people. Helga Hufflepuff, Salazar Slytherin, Rowena Ravenclaw and Godric Gryffindor." She noted down the first question in her notebook and listened to all the answers with interest.

"Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooh," he offered in reply, nodding his head and poking at the plate with his finger curiously. That was some nifty magic that he would certainly like to learn! "Neat!"

However...Charlotte's words were both reassuring as well as destructive - mostly to the first year's grumbling tummy because the cookies looked GOOD - but ultimately he decided not to take a cookie. Since snacks were allowed though...that meant that he could have a chocolate frog, right?

Taking his seat finally, Derf fished out a chocolate frog from his pocket and set it on his desk. He also accidentally pulled out the small box of dead flies he had collected for Scamander and had set that down next to his chocolate frog just as the professor began the lesson.

And holy flaming salamanders that was a BROAD question. Like...really REALLY broad. Was he meant to talk about everything he knew? Because...this was going to take a while. Just saying...

Alright..hand up! Selective information time based on what he had pulled from chocolate frog cards!

He assumed that since she had said Hogwarts specifically that she meant the castle and not...the grounds too...which made his knowledge a tiiiiiiiiiny bit limited because now he couldn't talk about creatures so much.

"The castle its-s-self was-s-s conceptualized by an architect and Rowena Ravenclaw. I fink she came up wiff the ever-changing floor plan...and the moving staircases..." he said to start. "Some fint that the cas-s-stle has s-soooooome form of sentience or awareness too!" There were some historical references to this somewhere, but he couldn't remember them at the moment. He WANTED to bring up the Chamber of Secrets, but since Professor Newton had been the one to rain on his parade...he refrained....but he had ANOTHER series of chambers as it were that he was curious about. "Profes-ss-ssor? Are the seven chambers s-s-still there? The ones meant to protect the Philos-sopher's-s S-S-Stone?"

RIGHT. He was going to open his chocolate frog up now. Yeeeeeees.

Char gave Derf a big smile and then transferred her attention to the professor as the lesson began. And what a question. She knew SO MUCH. SO MANY THINGS in fact. That was too big of a question! But she thought of something and tossed her hand up in the air, half a bit of shortbread still in it.

"It changes a lot: sometimes you think you left a room somewhere but it decided to take a holiday and not show up today, or is actually only there on tuesdays or something like that."

Simon looked at the Professor, before raising his hands. "It's a school that has some very weird rules." Yeah he was still trying to figure some of them out. It defiantly wasn't like the last school he went to.

Oooh. What did they know about Hogwarts? Harriet knew a lot about Hogwarts! Of course she did. She wanted to know about her school, didn't they all? But now she needed to think of a really cool answer. She wanted to be unique, and not have an answer that other members of the class having the same answer. So she totally needed to think about other things. She actually jotted a few answers down, wanting to pick the very best one that she could. She liked history of magic. It was one of her favourite subjects. A few mintues later, she raised her hand into the air.

"There was a big battle here, during the second wizarding war. The school was where Harry Potter defeated the Dark Lord" Which was actually pretty cool. They walked the same paths that amazing witches and wizards had. And that was pretty awesome.

What did he know about Hogwarts? For some reason his first thought went theres been a LOT of deaths around here.

But he bit his lip and kept quiet. It may be truthful but he also knows thats a downer of an answer, and with the way things are going this morning, he didnt want to dampen the mood.

So instead he said "Hogwarts has hosted some pretty cool events like the Tri-Wizard Tournament!" he'd love to be around if Hogwarts ever get to do that again. His dad was here the last time and it was indeed an amazing thing given all his stories.

Nero munched on his shortbread when the lesson began, chewing as the teacher asked what do they know about the school and listened to some students answering to her. Shoving the remaining of the biscuit into his mouth, trying to think of an answer. He didn't know much about Hogwarts. He was still too young for mum and dad to tell him when they were still around. Uncle went to Ilvermorny, so he must't know much...

He saw many terrifying looking creatures in the Black Lake through the windows in the Slytherin common room, the Forbidden Forest is forbidden for a good reason, Hogwarts was nearly destroyed in the second Wizarding World War that resulted in many lives lost were amongst the few things he knew. Though it might be best to keep those answers to himself. "Muggles can't see Hogwarts," was what he came up with. He knew as much that muggles would only see 'do not enter' sign.

Well if that wasn't a broad question; there were SO many different things and ways one could answer that question about things known about Hogwarts. Perhaps it was a warmup because they were going to be learning out one of the OTHER Wizarding Schools? They did have several transfer students so perhaps this was the Professor's way to make them feel welcome and inclusive by having them compare their old school to their new school?

As for what Skylar knew, well, there was much to say, but what she wanted was to say something rather random. Something that maybe wasn't necessarily known. Raising her hand, Skylar figured the school motto was random enough, and also kind of amusing, "The school motto is draco dormiens nunquam titillandus, which is Latin for 'Never tickle a sleeping dragon', which is kind of weird, cause I'm not sure why anyone would WANT to tickle a dragon." You know, just it didn't exactly sit right in her mind.

Katherine wasn't about cookies that much - she wanted the class to begin and it finally did! So, after listening to some answers, she raised her hand.

"Muggle devices working by electric don't work inside the castle due to high levels of magic."

Oliver organized his things on his desk so he could take notes and began munching on one of the several shortbread cookies he had taken from Professor Newton's desk. He had noticed the platter refilled itself once it was low on cookies, so he just figured no one would mind much if he took a lot to eat throughout the class. Plus, the sugar might actually keep him from getting distracted.

As he nommed on cookies, he considered all of the things he knew about Hogwarts. Obviously, there were quite a few things, but sometimes when he was put on the spot, Ollie found it hard to remember all of the things he knew. As of right now, he could only think of everything everyone else was saying and what use was that??? And he kept thinking about Harry Potter and Dumbledore and wasn't there more to the school than that?? Loads of other generations had attended the school since then!

Eventually, he settled with something simple and raised his hand. "Hogwarts carriages are pulled by Thestrals," (that counted as a fact about the school, right?) "aaaaaaaand the Chamber of Secrets exists under the castle." Still creepy, if you asked him. He never ever wanted to end up under the castle. The dungeons were plenty enough for him.
