THis was the first time Gaston had visited Hogsmeade when he wasn't injured either physically or emotionally. This time last year, he was still recovering form Peeves dragging him down the stairs, and his heart had been broken not long before the spring visit. But this time the charms professor was truly happy. His bandmates were coming in for lunch at the Three Broomsticks, and he had a date with Rose later.
The dark-haired Frenchman checked his watch. There was still time before he had to meet his bandmates, so he decided to stop in Gladrags. He needed new gloves; the ones he had on were getting pretty worn-out. He found the display and seerched through the merchandise until he found a pair in black. His bright blue eyes darted around the shop, looking for the shopkeeper, but she was nowhere to be seen. She must be in the back, he thought. Hopefully she wouldn't be too long!

Ashton had visited Hogsmeade many times before. He lived in Scotland, so it was easy to travel here and shop around. Before that, he had attended Hogwarts and had visited the village every Hogsmeade weekend even if he did not have any particular business here. It was a good way to take a break from his schoolwork.
He also had dates with May here...
Not here, in Gladrags Wizardwear, but in the more romantic shops of Hogsmeade. The thirty-one-year-old shook his head, trying to rid his head of thoughts about his ex-wife. He continued his search for a scarf - he had torn his only one the previous week. He reached out for a dark blue one and accidentally bumped into another man. "Oh, I'm sorry," Ashton said as he turned to look at the man. He could do with a new pair of gloves too.

Aramis had asked his dad to meet him here, not only did he need new robes. As he had grown an inch since school had started, but it would be a rather out of the way place so they could talk..
Aramis was waiting in front of the shop, his arms crossed as his dark green eyes stared out onto the snowy landscape.. at least it wasn't rain? The blonde figured that his dad would at least be used to the snow by now, yeah?
He sighed softly as his thoughts drifted to Dylan.. and he felt a slow smile come over his face..
That was the other reason why Aramis needed his Father..
Girls.. More Specifically a blonde Ravenclaw that had his heart pounding everytime she was in the room.. but should he just go for it and ask her out? What if she rejected him?
Why did these things have to be so complicated?
A hand was raked through his hair as he waited and tried not to let his thoughts overwhelm him.

As Albert pocketed the note he got from his son, Aramis, the man held his head high as he went on to tread the streets of Hogsmeade Village, discreetly searching for the shop his young son have indicated. Albert's stride was carefully measured, looking nonchalantly to his left, then to his right reading each and every sign of the shops. It had been ages since the last time he was there. Although he didn't finish his studies in Hogwarts, it was still close to his heart. The fact that he could see the towers from where he stood, made him almost miss his own towering son nearby.
"What could possibly be your emergency?" Albert started as he stood in front of the store and read the shop's sign without looking at Aramis. Albert can tell that it was indeed his son, given his unmistakable height that he obviously got from him. "I do believe you have more than enough money to cover such expense." he said to his son as he pointed at the signage with his trusty umbrella.
Intense blue eyes then shifted from the sign to his only son, and wondered what was going on. Aramis had been in Hogwarts for six years already, and this was the first time he'd been asked to come see him. "And I am sure that it is a bit too late now to be homesick, don't you think?" Albert grinned knowingly as he flicked a lump of snow in front of him, and rested both of his hands on his umbrella's handle.
"Well? You have asked for my presence. What exactly, pray tell, am I doing here?"

Aramis breathed a sigh of relief as he saw his father in the distance, and he had to restrain himself from going to hug the man for showing up. It wasn't like they weren't an affectionate family, but a hug in mid day, might be cause for his father to think him ill and see if perhaps a trip to St.Mungos was in order. Especially after he has called him out here.
"A son can't want to see his father? " He asked as he watched him stand in front of the shop and motion to it with his umbrella.. "I do have enough money Dad, but.. that wasn't really the point. " He said as he pushed himself off the wall and moved closer to the tall man..
A small smirk moved over his lips as his father spoke and he nodded. "Perhaps I have had a sudden attack of nostalgia?" The blond said as he watched his father flick some snow and then put his hands on his umbrella..
"I need your help Dad.. and I guess I supposed I could have gone to mother.. but.. I felt like you were the one person I could talk to about it.. " Aramis stood in front of his dad now hands in his pockets, slightly bent posture.. as if his troubles were weighing him down.
"I.. need your advice.. about a..." The tall boy paused and looked around.. "Girl. "

Aramis can't wait to see him? What for, exactly? If there was anyone in the world who knew Aramis best, it was him. Sure, affection have been shared between the two of them, but not in broad daylight...and in front of everyone else, let alone in the streets of Hogsmeade. "Nonsense, Aramis."Albert chuckled, as he continued. "If my memory serves me right, you have never called for my presence in such haste...and it did seem that it is a matter of great importance." Which again, came off as highly unusual, considering that Aramis more often than not, keeps things to himself. Albert had been very careful not to pry on his not so young son. And if there was anyone who often gets the bout of nostalgia, it would be Aramis' mother.
Albert held his nose up in the air as Aramis started, wondering what could possibly be his son's concern now that he's decided to turn to him for advice. Both of his children knew how busy he was, and if his instinct was correct, they had often ran to Antheia for advice simply because she had the time for them. Now this...this is entirely different, and perhaps, Albert isn't ready for it.
Aramis' body language told him a lot, and Albert started to feel the concern rise from the deep pit of his stomach. Albert pursed his lips together tightly as his son started to talk, and seemed to purposefully put long pauses in between his words which didn't sit very well with the man. He was about to say 'spit it out!', but Aramis beat him to it.
Albert inhaled sharply, and released his breath slowly as he began to inspect the end of his umbrella like it was the most interesting thing he has ever seen in his entire life. "And I presume that you like this girl very much, considering the fact that you had to request for my presence albeit my very busy schedule." Albert was thoroughly amused. "Go on then. What seems to be the problem?"

Okay, so perhaps this wasn't going to go over well and maybe he should have gone to his mother with this.. But he didn't want his sister to find out! It would be the pink robes incident all over again.
Aramis waited while his dad took in what he said. And his dark green eyes watched as the older man inspected his umbrella like it was the most amazing thing in earth.. Aramis had often wondered about that umbrella, if it was more than just a usual one. Didn't umbrellas wear out after awhile? And unless his father had a stock of ones that all looked the same... He wagered to guess it might be special.
"Yes, I like this girl very much and I've never felt this way before about.. anyone. " He said as he leaned on the side of the store. "Well, the problem is.. I don't know how she feels about me! I mean I've sort of asked her out a few times, but uhh.. I think she thinks it was just as friends.. " The Slytherin boy was clearly out of his depth on this one. Things had always seemed to come easy to him. His violin playing came naturally, as did his studies, and his careful tea preparation.. but girls?
Help!
"I feel like I'm treading deep water whenever I am with her and can't seem to make two sentences string together, let alone get my feelings out. " The boy finally confessed.

Ah, Hogsmeade weekend once again! Summer was busy hanging a sign that advertised 30% off sweaters in the window when one of the school professors walked in. He was soon followed by another man. "Hello, gentelmen. May I help you?" she said once she'd finished with the sign. "Today all sweaters are 30% off."

Not long after the first two men arrived, a boy showed up. Then came another man who Summer assumed must be the boy's father. Whoever he was, they appeared to be having a private conversation. She thought it rude to interrupt so she just gave them a nod and a smile. If they needed anything, they could just call her.

"I feel like I'm treading deep water whenever I am with her and can't seem to make two sentences string together, let alone get my feelings out. " The boy finally confessed.
Yes, he wasn't ready for this conversation. Albert opened his mouth, and instantly closed it again as he turned to his right, and started to pace slowly in front of Aramis. When was the last time he courted a woman, anyway? With Antheia, he didn't have to given the fact that their marriage was an arranged one. He tried to escape the arrangement, but it would seem that fate really had its way with the two of them. He didn't have any regrets, however. Albert loved her more than anything, and he was settled for life when his two children were born.
Albert stopped in front of Aramis, still considering the words in his head. "Are you afraid of the what ifs?" the man tilted his head to the side, and took the opportunity to remember every detail of this conversation. Of course, he would have to tell his mother about this. She would hex him in his sleep if he didn't. "What answers are you looking for?" Albert, of course, had an inkling but he thought it best that Aramis think things through. Clearly, this girl knocked his son out of his orbit, and is now desperate to get back on track. "I am quite certain that things will come out easily when you know exactly what you want." Aramis after all, is a Slytherin like him.
The man caught sight of the lady shopkeeper, and gave her a shallow nod of acknowledgement. Of all places to have a conversation with his old man, Aramis had to choose an odd one. "And I would assume that your lady friend is among this crowd?" Albert added as he turned a full 360, and grimaced at the noise. It was as bad as the bloody British rain. "I'm afraid to say Aramis, that this is a wasted opportunity for you. Could've asked her out for tea already, at the very least." he said turning around again to look at his son. "But I am chuffed that you came to me first for advice." Because it made him feel all the more important.

Gaston was still lost in thought as he continued rifling through the display of gloves, hats, and scarves. What was so urgent that his bandmates had to come all the way to Hogsmeade to tell him? No one had died or something awful like that, right? He was still imagining the worst case scenario when someone bumped into him... either that or he bumped into the other person, which was probably more likely given his clumsiness. He started to apologize, but the other man (Ashton) beat him to it. "It's quite alright; I was more than a little distracted myself," he replied, giving the other man a friendly smile. He hoped he wasn't coming across as cold; he just really wasn't good at small talk.
His head jerked up, causing his black hair to fall into his eyes, at the sound of the shopkeeper's voice. He smiled at her. "Thank you, Madame Shopkeeper," he said. "I'll let you know."
Gaston was almost ready to leave, but he remembered that the shopkeeper said sweaters were on sale. He could probably use one or two; he didn't have many sweaters and the weather was getting colder. He searched through the sweater display and selected one in black. He was looking for one in blue when he heard bits and pieces of another conversation taking place. He didn't know what exactly the pair were talking about, but he didn't like what he heard. It reminded him a little too much of things his father said to him in the past and made him sad, but he didn't want to let on. Probably best that he leave soon...

Aramis ran a hand through his hair as he watched his Father pace, it seemed like he has surprised him. But he really was the only person he could turn too about this. Of course his mother would probably find out eventually. But this was a time where a son needed his Father.
Shocked or not.
Aramis stood his ground, not taking his dark green eyes from his father as he finally turned towards him. "Of course I'm afraid of the what if's. What if she doesn't like me? What if she does? " Would he be a good boyfriend? He had never had a girlfriend before, and the last thing he wanted to do was hurt Dylan. So far everything had been in a holding pattern.. Nothing had been said, so right now, no one as hurt. But if he told her he liked her and asked her out and she said no..
Another hand was raked through his hair. "I want her to be my girlfriend. " He said finally, his eyes on the ground at his feet. "But what do I do so I don't break if she doesn't? " The sixteen year old had no idea how to navigate this.. he just needed advice.
"Well she isn't here.. but yes she is probably in Hogsmeade. " He said as his dad looked around and he sighed a bit.. "We've had tea, I made it for her already. " But again, just as friends.
"I knew you wouldn't laugh at me Dad. And would take me seriously.. Do I.. just need to go for it and see where the chips fall? " Did he need to be Gryffindor about this?

Albert knew that this day would come sooner or later, but he wasn’t ready for the questions. If he’s going to be honest, he knew the answers to Aramis’ queries. The problem is, would his son have the same fate as he did? The man immediately shot his son a look and wondered what was wrong with his child. Well obviously, he’d been thinking about this way too much.
Albert let out a sigh, and poked the ground with his umbrella and considered Aramis’ words. “You do have a valid point son, but if you think this young lady is worth your time, then I don’t think you have no reason to be scared of the what-ifs.” Albert raised his nose in the air once more, and scrutinized Aramis even further. He did look like he was willing to gamble his chances with this girl. “You might as well realize that whatever choice you make in the coming days, there should be no regrets in the end.” Because that is exactly what it means to live.
The man gave his son a smile. Of course that was what he wanted, but then his self-preservation got the best of him. It wasn’t exactly a helpful Slytherin trait while...he’s about to be involved in a relationship. “If she doesn’t reciprocate your feelings, then make your inevitable misery matter. You wouldn’t know, unless you try.” Albert gave his son a look, and a sigh before continuing. “This is something that you must face on your own, but remember that I am here for you. Your mother and I will always be behind you.” He said placing a hand behind Aramis’ neck, and gave it an affectionate squeeze. “You will be alright, no matter what the outcome is. Hmm?”
Albert had let go of Aramis, and looked over his shoulder once more...clearly disgusted by the lack of privacy in the room. “Lucky girl indeed. I could use a cup of tea myself.” He said in a low murmur, and narrowed his eyes at the man who seemed to be busy looking at sweaters. Was he eavesdropping? For his sake, he better not be listening to his conversation with Aramis. After a long and calculating stare at the stranger, he shifted his attention back to Aramis. “Why would I laugh at you in the first place? You’re in a serious predicament.” He said blinking several times at his boy. “And what are you? A Gryffindor?” Albert shook his head and let out a chuckle. “You know what you want, and the next thing you should be doing is to plan things. Start small. A group study, a good afternoon sail on the Great Lake...” Albert trailed off, and looked at his son expectedly. “I am sure you can do better in that department compared to your old man?” When was the last time he took their mother out on a date anyway?

Aramis nodded as his father spoke, he fully agreed with him.. and he knew Dylan was worth it, he had just been over thinking things a bit to much...
Okay so maybe more than a bit. Which was why he needed his Father to give him some advice and knock the Ravenclaw out of him. "She is worth my time Dad, and you are right. Whatever choice I make I want to make it with no regrets. " He said with a bit of a smile as he nodded. "I just needed someone to tell the Ravenclaw in my to go away. " He said with a half smile as he ran a hand through his hair again.. less frustrated this time.
He smiled back at his father as he spoke and he nodded. "I'll keep that in mind Dad, you are right. I won't know if I don't try. " He had just been so darn scared and out of his depth, leave it to his father to shine some perspective on things. The dark green eyed boy grinned as his Father spoke again and he felt his hand give his neck an affectionate squeeze.. Aramis reached out an an arm to gently clap his Dad's shoulders while they were close. This whole conversation meant so much to him.
He had asked for his Dad's help and he had come, he had taken time out of his busy schedule to help him out. Even if he didn't like it here. "I know you will be here for me Dad, You and Mom. I'm lucky to have parents like you. " The sixteen year old cleared his throat a bit. "Thanks. "
He pulled back and was back leaning on the wall, trying to look nonchalant about this whole thing.. You know pkay it cool. But the Slytherin was happy to be having this moment with his Father.
Aramis covered up a laugh at the older man's words with a bit of a cough.. You wanna head over to the Three Broomsticks? See if they have any tea. I'd make you some myself but all my stuff is in my dorm. Mother sent me this amazing China teapot. " He said conversationally as his eyes too wandered around a bit. Yeah perhaps this hadn't been the best place for a heart to heart, but it had worked..
"I don't know why you would.. maybe think it's dumb because I'm having such a hard time with a girl? " The boy shrugged.. It seemed like it could be something he could handle. But he really was out of his depth.
"I am most definitely NOT a Gryffindor! And I do have a few thugs planned. We are going to a Quidditch game and I'm taking her to dinner afterwards.. but afternoon sail sounds lovely.. and I want to okay my Violin for her sometime.. " Yeah he had plans.. Now to enact them!
