Set up against one wall of the Gryffindor Common room is a Games Area. If you get too bored with study and need to spend some time having fun, feel free to come and pick a game. There's decks of Exploding Snap, a few sets of Gobstones, and a few boxes of Wizards Chess, all pieces accounted for, and MANY MORE! This is a food and drink friendly area! Be as loud as you want, but please take care of the games.

If you asked him, the ENTIRE COMMON ROOM was the Game Area now. With so many Gryffindors packed in here at any given time after curfew, it was getting a bit ridiculous and hella loud. The Fifth Year wasn't even here for the games, this just happened to be one of the only place left to sit so until he was ready to call it a night, Blaise took a seat at the base of the wizarding chess table.
Don't get him wrong, Blaise didn't mind time with his housemates and if nothing else he figured it had to be better than being locked into a Common Room with Ravenclaws but Merlin he missed lounging in his favourite couch at this time of the evening.
Idly, the boy reached for the pack of exploding snaps. He would simply pass the time with this--as opposed to the ton of homework he was currently procrastinating.
Who could concentrate in the middle of all this?

Yeaaaaaah. So... Dora was NOT a fan of the current set up, as was clear by the drank face she sported as she weaved around the packed common room looking for a place to sit. Her favorite spot by the fireplace was taken by some first year. Ugh. Lame. The sight of a lime green quick quotes quill caught her eye, though. A normal person!
Seeing as she likely couldn't be heard over the roar of her housemates, the blonde took off at a quick clip or as fast as she could move after the quill and the boy it would be accompanying. Games Area. Okay, that would do!
"Blaise. This place is smelly and loud. I might just die from the boredom and craziness here, " Dora lamented before plopping down dramatically. As she flopped backward an arm went across her eyes and the best put out look went into place. "This school is such a disaster. "

And she was PUT OUT.
Blaise glanced up from the cards at the sound of his name. Of course he'd become aware of someone taking the spot next to him but...the Common Room was full...he expected random people to take spots wherever they could find them. The fact it wasn't just anyone but one of his friends made it a lot better than it otherwise could have been. "Yeah, no kidding." He said, returning to his earlier action of laying out the cards.
"I could be down in the kitchen right now or off finding only Merlin knows what to do. Instead, we're all stuck in here trying not to accidentally get each other killed." Locking Gryffindors into relatively small areas was just NEVER a good idea. "I think this one kid tried swinging from the chandeliers earlier. He fell, we laughed. Highlight of the entire evening right there." They needed to find the missing students and get this place back to normal already. Why punish him for some magical portal he had no control over?
"I mean, I always knew this place was a case and a half but this is just...ridiculous." Not the missing student thing, kid was convinced they'd all be coming back. He meant the whole curfew and confinement thing. The Fifth Year could definitely have done without this part.

Dora would have shouldered a firstie out of the way if she had had to, but a well placed glare here or there and people scattered from in front of her. Heh. Or she thought that was how it worked anyway. Maybe people just wanted to avoid conflict right now. "I could be off with Casper right now, but NO. And the insistence that we be escorted EVERYWHERE by Prefects for professors. Well, I'd rather sit in my dorm all day than have that happen. Especially the younger ones," she said with contempt clear in her voice. She had an issue with ANYONE that couldn't perform magic on her level being there to PROTECT her. No thank you.
Blaise's recap of the kid on the chandelier did make her giggle a bit and uncover her eyes, but her face was quickly painted with a frown. "I am not convinced they really thought the confinement thing over. What if that stupid portal pops up in the middle of our dorm? No one seems to know how the damn thing works, do they?" It all sounded like something from an old Sci Fi show or something... And Dora didn't know what kind of MAGIC could be behind it all... it really didn't make sense to her.
"Okay. I don't care anymore... Wanna sneak out? I hate flying, but I am positive we can fly out of your dorm window. My mum used to fly into the Ravenclaw dorms after hours," or so she had been told. Lol. Uncle Sabel PROBABLY shouldn't have shared that with her, but that was neither here nor there.
MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION OF LIFE: Was Blaise Bellaire gonna sneak out with her?
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
"The escorting is pretty dumb.I don't see a single thing our Prefects could do if something suddenly appeared while we were taking a bathroom break." He was approaching this from a practical point of view. Let's be real. Let's say some...oh...hypothetically speaking, ridiculously strong monster appeared. WHAT could students still learning basic magic do to keep him alive that he couldn't well do himself? The boy had a whole year of experience over Tenacious and Noelle was no walking encyclopaedia of spells.
They were doomed either way. Didn't need to add inconvenience to an already abhorrent situation.
Dora had a point there too. Blaise looked about the room, as if considering the possibility of the portal appearing right then and there. Was it bad he was half hoping it would happen just to prove their point? "I'd like to know more about it. All we ever hear is stay away from it without any real explanations." He wasn't much for the more science-y aspects nor did he care how the portal worked in specifics but Gryffindor curiosity was a hell of a thing.
The girl's words had his face lighting up instantly, and it sent his quill scribbling something fierce. Sneak out? "Hell yeah. I'm not sure I'm ready to call it a night yet." So no point getting stuck in the Common Room, yeah? "Tell me you've already got a broom stashed away."

See. Blaise totally understood. This was why they were friends. "I also can't tell you that I would want anyone to assist me if I was in the loo. How awkward is that," she said with an accompanying shudder. No thanks, guys. NO THANKS.
They were definitely doomed if they kept up this stupid curfew and such. Someone was bound to get hurt or hurt someone. Especially in the Gryffindors' case. Lol.
"Well, personally, I want nothing to do with the portal itself. Not this girl! But I just want them to realize they are being ridiculous about it. And us." They were capable of NOT walking into some stupid portal if it appeared... contrary to popular belief... and other people's stupidity. Like, who DID that anyway?! OH LOOK A CREEPY SWIRLY THING IN THE AIR LEMME GO IN THERE AND CHECK IT OUT. Um no.
Dragging herself from her thoughts, though, Dora shook her head. "I was hoping YOU had a broom. I don't even own one, Blaise." What kind of Gryffindor BOY was he if he didn't have a broom in his dorm?
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
See that was a whole other thing to consider in itself. The bathroom wasn't exactly the place where you wanted people storming in just because some portal or dark force or Merlin knew what decided to be there. In a situation like that, he'd likely keep silent (to avoid any crashers) while he handled the situation himself. "I never even thought about it that way but you've got a point no one's talking about." Something told him the logistics of this curfew were not properly worked out.
Besides, who'd go to the bathroom to relieve themselves, see a shining portal they've heard nothing but bad things about and decide to step inside instead? Granted any number of Gryffindors would but that was besides the point.
"They don't give us credit for a lot of things and some of us make it hard for them to give that credit." Looking at you portal hoppers. To be fair, Blaise would have gone through the portal, because it'd make for a good story--not because he didn't understand the dangers. This reasoning wouldn't change just because his underclassman told him not to. As in...how would he stop him? What would he say? He could just block anything shot at him? The boy may have skipped his magical classes and seldom did magic but that didn't make him incapable of it when needed. Blaise had done a lot of catching up on his own.
But right, the broom. They needed one of those. "We aren't allowed to play Quidditch and I don't go to flying classes often enough to take my broom to Hogwarts." There was no point really and up until recently they didn't even HAVE a quidditch pitch to fly around so it'd become a bigger habit to leave it. "I know where we can get one though."
