IC Date, time, location: Thursday, 8th December, 1pm 2091 , Room of requirement (password to get inside is crystal ball)
A RoR room will be utilized for this afternoons divination lesson to not let the frigid december weather interfere, since a heavy snow storm of the previous night, put an effective stop to a lesson outside on the grounds. As you step over the threshold to the 'classroom' you'll find that the room is pretty spacious and warm, but not stuffy.
The desks and have been grouped in a half circle and all the chairs are cushioned for comfort. Professor Vance is standing in the middle of the spacious room dressed in shimmering red robes, sipping on a steaming cup of tea, next to several cloaked objects, and overhead something is floating around cloaked too.
"Good afternoon, please find a desk, we will begin shortly." Professor Vance chirps warmly as the first students step inside. All the cloaked objects are perfectly masked in black silk as to not give away what the lesson will be about just yet.

Skylar had to admit she was stoked about the upcoming Divination lesson not because she enjoyed the subject, but because of WHERE it was located. She'd heard about the Room of Requirement, sure, but for whatever reason had never made it up there before to have a look herself. Why it wasn't in the tower, Sky wasn't sure, but she wasn't going to complain about the absence of smelly incense.
She hesitated a moment in the doorway when she first uttered the password, hoping that Professor Vance hadn't decided to bring her array of incense with her and was quite pleased to discover no aromas. It was actually really warm too here, which was a relief, and it was even a comfortable warm. Perhaps Professor Vance had heeded advice from her students or just noticed expressions of distaste whenever her students entered? Whatever the case, Sky was pleased and showed it by warmly greeting the professor, "Good afternoon, Professor Vance!" And found a seat close to one of the cloaked objects.... cause being closer to the strange cloaked objects, perhaps she could find out what the professor was hiding sooner? Just hopefully she wouldn't get eaten or something first, cause that part wouldn't be cool.

The seventh floor, that was new! Never had she had a Divination lesson in the room of requirement before and… To be honest, she never had been in the room of requirement before either! Standing before the entrance from the room of requirement she looked down at the note she had made to remember the password she needed. “Crystal ball” she spoke with a clear and loud voice to make sure that she had spoken the correct password and… Her smile widened when the door opened and she was able to enter. But, while entering her smile faded, she had not forgotten how much she HATED this lesson and she shot a irritated look at the professor before looking away quick. In her hands she carried a textbook about this lesson and she had flipped it open at a random page and… She looked down at the book as if she was really busy reading in order to NOT greet the teacher. She really didn’t wanted to because why greed a teacher who was teaching a fake lesson? The second year old found it really impossible to show respect for the adult so yeah, she did as if she was too focused on reading to really notice the teacher or her ugly red robes and all the other things in the temporary classroom.

The room of requirement or the divination tower
It did not matter where it was, it was on the same floor so the Ravenclaw did not need to search for long. He had been in the room once before and when he found it, he used the password and entered.
He walked forward towards where the Professor was seated. Said a quick hello and then turned to sit at one of the tables. Taking a seat near the middle . It was always the middle now he thought about it.... he then pulled out a new book, a crime book this time instead of a textbook and continued to read before the professor started the lesson.

Olivia always enjoyed when classes ended up being on the same floor as her common room which meant that she could be super lazy for once and not leave too, too early for class. Heh. With her bag slung lazily over her shoulder, she followed a few other students that looked as if they knew where they were going. The Room of Requirement. She hadn't had a lesson in there yet. "Crystal Ball," she whispered and the door opened, revealing a fairly empty room with a few students and the Professor. Smiling, she walked over to greet the Professor. "Hello Professor Vance. How are you?" She wondered what they would be learning today!
At Professor Vance's instruction, she found an empty desk and began unpacking her bag and preparing her notebook for today's lesson.

Carlton had no idea where he was. No. Idea. He didn't know what a room of requirements was, he'd never heard of such a room before. He simply followed a few students he hoped was going to divination class. As he followed them inside a weird looking room he hadn't seen before, he spotted his divination professor and realized he was in the right place.
"Good afternoon, professor Vance!" He smiled at her and looked around him, relieved he was in the right place. His curiousity almost got the better of him when he spotted the cloaked objects. But he kept his hands to himself, and simply eyed the objects very intently as he went to take a seat.
SPOILER!!: Olivia

Carlton spotted Olivia and happily made his way over to her. "Hi." He said as he plopped down in a chair next to her. Oh, comfy. He wiggled his tushy a bit to get comfortable and started to rummage through his bag for his notebook and quill. "Can I sit here with you?"
Sinead did not entirely know what was going on with this whole Room of Requirement business, but it was pretty exciting. Hogwarts had so much interesting magic just lying around, waiting for somebody to make use of it! And here they were. Say what you want about Divination, it was worth coming to the lesson just for the sake of getting to see that room.
Anyway, everyone should have known that Divination was real. Loads of prophecies came true; apparently there were people in the Ministry whose whole jobs it was to study them. Except it was supposed to be secret. Obviously that hadn't worked out. Sinead was pretty sure she wasn't a seer, and nor did she have that much of an interest in being one, but this was still a whole other branch of magic and she wasn't about to ignore it just because she didn't have some one-in-a-million ancestral power.
She took a seat at the edge of the semi-circle and set her things down carefully, eyeing up the black-cloaked objects in the centre of the room. It always seemed to turn into an interesting lesson when the professors had something hidden up their sleeve like that; hopefully, today wouldn't be an exception.
Etta had never been to the Room of Requirement before and this was rather exciting! She entered the classroom, so very glad that it was warm and toasty inside. It felt good to get away from the cold a bit. She noticed that the professor looked rather... uhmmm... interesting in her shiny red clothes. "Hello, professor." She greeted politely.
She found a seat near the front of the class and sat down, her eyes curiously staring at the cloaked things. What were they going to be studying today? She pulled out her parchment and quill, feeling quite ready for class to begin.

So...he was pretty convinced that he was a Seer based on how things had gone the first lesson. Which was why the first year was pretty eager to get to Divination lessons this term and today was no different - although his inner eye seemed to be kind of hit and miss...like his spellwork.
But he did not SEE there being proper desks - was his theory about desk allergies wrong!? - and was a bit too startled by those to noticed all the cloaked objects in the room at first. "Hi, profes-s-ssor!" he waved eagerly at the woman before making his way over to a vacant seat and plopping himself down next to the older Hufflepuff.
"Maybe...it's one of fose disco ball things-s," he whispered to her. "Divination by mirrors...or or or light reflections-s!"

Janelle was a little bummed that they couldn't go outside for Divination class. It was December though, so maybe indoor class was the way to go. The fact that class was going to be in the Room of Requirement was pretty cool. There was no telling what they might encounter in that place.
Reaching the spot right outside of the Room, Janelle said the magic words. "Crystal Ball" As she was granted admittance to the Room of Requirement, she wondered what she would see inside. A classroom with desks. Well that was a bit of a letdown. Janelle had expected something a little more.........more.
"Hello Professor Vance", she said, as she made her way to an empty desk. Janelle set her bag on the floor and sat down. She got out her quill and parchment, then began to look around the room. What exactly were they going to do today?

Etta looked mildly surprised to see the baby younger Hufflepuff suddenly sit down next to her. "Hi." She'd obviously seen him around but they never really talked? Weird. But he seemed kind of adorable. Hmmm. Disco ball... "Yeah! Maybe. I hadn't thought of that.." Frankly, she didn't like the subject all that much BUT the girl hoped it would be interesting, to say the least.

This was a very interesting place to hold class. Natalia had been in the Room of Requirement many times. Mostly for music, though, which reminded her she had to see if the band could have a gig there again this term. Those were always so fun. Maybe she could plan a seventh year one to celebrate them being done at the end of the term. That could be fun and think of that she still wanted to do a seventh-year prank, but what?
Walking into the ROR she looked around, "Hello Professor" Giving a nice smile towards the woman before she went and found a seat. Pulling out her parchment, quill, and book she set them aside on her desk and sat quietly for class.

Zelena made her way to the Room of Requirement and clearly spoke the password, "Crystal ball."She didn't want to make any pronunciation errors or goodness knows what would happen.
Once the "classroom" opened, Zelena made her way inside looking at the decor in the room. Her eyes fell upon Professor Vance and she flashed the teacher a smile. "Hello, Professor."
Zelena then made her way to a desk and sat down, taking out her quill, parchment and book out of her bag onto her desk and placing the bag on the floor.

Juno quickly walked into the Divinations classroom. She was worried she was late. She was trying a new thing with her hair today...curls. She was worried it was a bit TOO curly but who knew mabye she would get lots of compliments...maybes she would be putting her hair in a bun in a bout 5 seconds. WHO KNEW?!?!?
She smiled at the professor, and greeted her, "Good Afternoon, Professor Vance." She then quickly found a seat, glad that she wasn't late, with two empty seats on each side of her, hoping a specific Ravenclaw would be coming in soon. Was he even in this class? She couldn't remember.

The notice that the next Divination lesson was neither outside nor in the Divination tower had piqued Elle’s curiosity. Although, as she’d made her way up to the location of the entrance to the Rom of Requirement, she’d slipped a hand into her bag to check on her hedgehog. Normally she didn’t bring him with her to lessons, but the snowstorm had bothered him and she hadn’t felt like leaving him down in the common room was nice. She just had to hope that Professor Vance wouldn’t mind, or that Marvin would stay calm during the lesson and not try to peek outside of her bag. Either option would have been fine with her, but then she wasn’t a seer. She couldn’t say what was going to happen, but she could hope.
She’d quietly said the password to gain entry, and only blinked as she’d stepped inside to find a warm and comfortable classroom. So to speak, seeing as it wasn’t entirely a normal classroom. “Good afternoon Professor Vance,” she greeted the woman with a smile, idly wondering if there was tea for them as well as just for the professor. It just sounded nice, even if she wasn’t exactly cold. Either way, she made her way over to a seat near Nat, gently setting her bag down and managing to get her supplies for the lesson out without bothering the sleeping creature in there as well.

Professor Vance was at her best sipping on her steaming tea when the first student entered her RoR classroom. Raising her gaze she greeted kindly. "Hello Kimi!"

Laurel had been tempted to fill the room with incense but had thought better of it. She needed her class to be attentive and not sick. Turning her head slightly to look over at Miss Diggory as she smiled. "Good afternoon Skylar!"

Next student to step over the threshold was Leesha. The second year snake had left a memorable impression that had stayed with Professor Vance since their first lesson of the year. She took Leesha's presence in the class as a good sign even if she didn't greet her. Prof Vance however flashed the girl a nod and a wave.

Laurel didn't have to wonder where the Gryffindors had gotten to when Olivia made her way inside the room. As the lioness came over to her Laurel lowered her tea cup and smiled at the girl. "Good afternoon Olivia! I'm good, how are you?" The tea had done its trick.

Laurel had just taken another sip of her tea when young master Carlton arrived with all his first year curiosity just bubbling out of him. Returning the smile with a warm one of her own she said "Afternoon Carlton!"

Young Sinead came in shortly after Carlton finding herself a seat to the edge of the semi circle. Flashing the snakette a smile and a little wave Professor Vance wondered by the choice of seating. Had Sinead chosen it to have an escape route?

Professor Vance had no particular reason for wanting to wear shimmering red robes to the lesson except that she wanted to get into the Christmas spirit as it was not that many weeks left to Christmas. "Good afternoon Henrietta!" Professor Vance returned kindly to the badger. Did she prefer being called Etta?

A glance at her watch told her that it was soon high time to start. Laurel was drinking up the last of her tea when Elle arrived. "Good afternoon Elle!" she greeted the senior girl with a nice beam.
Determining that enough students were assembled to be able to start Professor Vance cleared her voice, and took a few steps forward as she spoke. "Welcome everyone to another lesson in the wonderful art of divining the future. The divination method that will be our main focus today I'd have liked to have held outside, but yesterdays snow storm and awfully chilly temperature made that impossible." With that in mind she took out her wand and conjured forth a tea wagon complete with steaming water, tea bags, cups and cookies by the left wall.
Turning her attention to her students again as she slipped her wand back into its holster, Professor Vance asked of them. "Can each of you give me a guess as to what divination method we will be learning about today? The hints I can give you are that it's a widespread ancient practice, usually preformed outside, the centaurs used to preform it, and you need to have a steady hand and arm to able to perform the reading." Gesturing to the tea wagon she said "Feel free to help yourselves to some tea and biscuts as you consider and give method guesses."
Ooc: Class has started! Feel free to jump in late, just post as if you've been there from the start. Use the hints to guess the divination method. I'll move on tomorrow around 2pm GMT+1.

Zelena bit her lip and scrunched her nose in thought, her fingers drumming soundlessly on the desk. She vaguely remembered something about Ancient Greeks, centaurs and smoke. She wasn't too sure if this was going to be done due to rules but maybe this was the answer. She slowly raised her hand.
"Professor, what about the art of Pyromancy? I think there are more specific forms but that term is the only one making an appearance in my mind."Zelena replied with a tone of not having as much confidence as usual.

Tenacius was looking at all them things that were cloaked, wondering what they were, because he really he's just trying to control the urge to pull off the cloak yknow?
Ohh clues! He likes clues, although his Divination knowledge is kinda limited so he wasn't really up to the jargon so to speak, but those clues gave him an idea "Professor, is it a kind of Divination where we use arrows?"

"I don't really know," Kitty answered, raising her hand when no one else was answering. Her respect for Divination was a recent development and she hadn't really studied all the different kinds of Divination there were. "The first thing I thought of when you mentioned centaurs was stars, because I knew centaurs read or used to read the stars." It seemed a lot like Astronomy to her.

"Are we going to burn sage and mallowsweet?" Charlotte asked, only half paying attention because of this whole Room of Requirement thing. Which was COOL but also now it meant everyone knew where it was, and wasn't the Room of Requirement more fun to discover on your own? She thought so! But also she was distracted by the tea wagon which she'd approach soon enough.....
Except the professor had said a steady hand.... "Oh, or wait, is it Belomancy?" She said, a smile at Ace when he mentioned arrows. Cos that's what that was.
If so, she should have brought her bow!

Brent didn't have the slightest clue. He would be lucky if he left class today understanding what the lesson was even about. He doubted seriously he could randomly guess some ancient Divination method. He looked toward Charlotte, who usually had a correct answer. If her answer sounded good enough, he'd just roll with it.
But wait...
He had actually heard something about what she was talking about. He raised his hand then looked at the professor. "I've actually heard something about the whole sage and mallowsweet thing," he said. "Apparently, they looked for shapes and symbols in fumes." That would also explain why the professor would have rather been outside for this lesson.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Grabbing a bookmarker, Mason placed it on the page and closed his book when the professor started the lesson. He placed the book back in his school bag quietly as he thought of an answer to the question.
He had read the Divination textbook. But when he wasn't interested in a subject it didn't stay with him. And Divination was sadly enough not his favourite.... Still, he felt like he had to say something. Give some sort of answer. He had learned that even giving bad answers were rewarded for trying. "Stargazinomacy" he answered convincingly.

Carlton didn't know any other divination methods than the ones they'd covered so far in the term, and from the looks of it, they would probably be doing something else today. So the young boy got up and pranced over to get some tea and biscuits. He took one biscuit in his mouth and one in his hand as he poured himself some tea.
The other students guessed and suggested different divination methods that Carlton hadn't heard about. He thought about what professor Vance had said about the centaurs and smiled, removing the biscuit from his mouth.
"I thought the centaurs were too busy protecting the caves? " Carlton mused. At least, that was what professor Myers had had assured him of. The fire babies seeds were protected by the centaurs, every night. So Carlton didn't need to worry about them. Others mentioned stars and Carlton got all excited. "THUNDERBOLTS!" Ahem. "Is there a technique which includes lightning, professor? That must be a cool way to do divination and since centaurs were cool, it only made sense.

She wanted to go outside for this lesson? Why were everyone so crazy about winter here? It was one thing in the years she had been here that she never got used to. She hated the cold and could never shake that feeling towards the weather. Why couldn't they just portkey to Australia for outside lessons right now? It would be nice and hot. Thankful for the winter storm that she could stay in this nice warm room her eyes moved to the tea that the Professor had.
When she spoke about what they could be doing the first thought was the Tea, but then she said something else. Centaurs? What did they do that could be done in the room of requirement. Was it something with the stars. "Will we be studying the mars and other planets ma'am?" She had no clue why you would need a steady hand for it, but she thought that Centaurs looked to the planets and stars for information.
