Dervish and Banges is a small, dusky little outlet located at the end of the street in Hogsmeade. Squatting between a few wooden pillars painted to look like marble, the green and gold building seems to be more of a remodeled mausoleum than a wizarding place of business. As you enter the hideous peeling green door and inhale the thick scent of sawdust and mildew, you'll likely question whether or not the shop actually was a mausoleum at some point.
Squeaky floorboards, musty smells, and creepy feelings aside, the place may appear to be in an eternal state of decay, but the sagging shelves stocked full of shiny, brand or like-new knickknacks say otherwise. The shop sells both new and reconditioned items of both the wizard and Muggle variety. Take your time, walk around, pick up one of the coupons off the counter, and try to not be intimidated by that looming shopkeeper just behind it (he doesn't bite ... much).
Another weekend of Hogwarts students filling in the streets. That always meant a weekend of kids trickling into his store, touching all of his merchandise possible. As long as things were bought, Saul did not mind. The least they could do if not buy was tell others the interesting things in store.
For now however, he tidied up the counter awaiting any incoming guests.

Indeed Tenacius thought this place was a mausoleum, and thats what he expected when he tested to see if this paint-peely door would open.....
It did. And there were stuff inside? Stuff that arent usually found in a crypt.
He sauntered in, curious about this crypt-ic shop geddit?. "Hi!" he greeted the dude in the typical Tenacius cheerfulness, and then went to look at stuff all the stuff.

Soon after wolfing down his late breakfast, (he went to bed last night really late slaving over his defunct microscope), River wrapped up warm and headed straight for Dervish and Banges, hoping to get the spare parts he needed for his muggle microscope. The possibility was close to none, but the Healer Man wasn't going to give up easily. There was this thing called 'luck', and he was that close to being desperate.
He really ought to visit the city soon, considering that his luck would be greater there. However, the year was 2092...was it still possible to come across such rare spare part?

So having made sure to dress for the weather Cami made her way into Hogsmeade trudging slowly down the snow covered pavement. With no true destination in mind the brunette paused in front of Dervish and Banges. There was a high chance that nothing would appeal to her in this shop at all but that didn't stop her from pushing the door open and stepping inside to have a look around.
Who really knew what one found find in a place like this?
Or should we say whom? Hardly had she made it a few feet into the shop did her brown eyes fall upon River. "I'm sure you won't be finding any Healer supplies in here," she commented teasing softly as she walked towards him.

River rounded up a table full of restored magical instruments but none of them looked like the parts that he needed. Even if the place didn't look promising, he was going to take his time and see what else he could find...maybe buy a fully restored equipment only to pull it apart again and see if he can salvage a part to make his muggle microscope work again.
An item caught his attention and River was quick to don it and test. It looked like half spectrespec and half omniculars only it was tied around the head. The Healer held up another object and examined it with his magnified eye. Upon hearing a very familiar voice, River turned to his side and grinned at the Transfiguration professor. "Oh, you never know what you'll find in here. It's an underrated shop if you ask me." Or maybe he was just nerding out like his usual. "Pleased to see you out and about, Cami. What brings you here?" he asked finally removing the portable microscope and placed it back to where he found it. He really could use one of those.

River gave the place a good look around before settling his eyes back to the Transfiguration professor. "This is one of the shops I frequent while I was still in Hogwarts. I would spend a good amount of time in here figuring out how they fix things up," he said as he brought up a repaired sneakoscope for her to see. "I actually like the idea of dismantling an equipment, and assemble it up again just to while away the time." See? True Ravenclaw right there.
The Healer paced towards another shelf and reached up to examine another magical item. "My muggle microscope got broken. The rings were so old that it crumbled to my touch. Tried to repair it with a charm, but it was a no go...so, here I am, trying out my luck." he said grinning at his colleague. Another item...well, a set of items caught his eyes and he immediately gestured Camilla to come over. "I have also decided to get one of these...I'd love to get your opinion, though." he said gesturing to a line of antique looking compasses. "Which one do you fancy the most? This one?...this...or how about this?"

Being a Professor that was out and about somewhat meant she was patrolling. Not officially today but she was keeping an eye open and on the children just in case. With teenagers and pre-teens one could never be to cautious. "Well yes, that too but not officially this morning. I am keeping an eye on them though," she replied laughing softly. "Valentines Day is one of those days where the kids seem to go crazy." Love crazy that is. As Cami listened to River tell her about how he enjoyed taking things apart and put them back together she smiled. "Is that so?" This was something she hadn't known about the man and honestly found it interesting. "A true Ravenclaw is what I'm getting from this."
Muggle microscope. Well that explained his being in here searching about for parts. "Well that's never any good but those muggle items don't tend to last, do they?" Typical wear and tear on items happened but for things that were already very old it was even worse. "Have you spoken with Kay? Maybe she has some parts lying about or one of two microscopes she doesn't need that you can use for parts." Just a suggestion seeing as how Kaysha was the Muggle Studies professor it couldn't hurt to ask her.
Camilla walked over towards where River when standing when he gestured for her. A small smile crossed her face as she looked at the compasses laying before them. "Well I would go with the last one...there's just something about the wooden case that I like...but if you're looking for something to carry around then this one would be a good idea," she answered thoughtfully pointing at the one in the center. Each one was lovely for a different reason however so it all really came down to his taste in the matter.

He momentarily looked up from a set of weighing scales to Cami and shook his head. "What was it that Jordan told me before?" he said as he looked up at the ceiling in wonder, "Ah yes. Teenage hormones." he continued scratching the back of his neck. He could not remember being crazy over a girl until he was in his sixth year. It was safe to say that he'd been head over heels in love with Xaviera. Fun times, and one of the hardest memories to forget. River beamed sheepishly at Cami and nodded his head in agreement. "That's us. The Reed family has been in Ravenclaw for centuries...and each of us has a strange quirk. Mine would be to take away parts...and re-build it again without magic." Cool, yeah?
"They don't actually, but it's amazing what muggles can do without magic. It's most interesting." Another round of Ravenclawing again and...ugh. Oops? And yes! Why didn't he think of approaching Kay for this? "Oh, that's an idea yes." River nodded as he carefully added weights to the weighing scale, giving it an equilibrium. "I don't think she'd have...muggle microscopes with her though." Unless she's into research and science? Nevertheless, he'd have to ask the Muggle Studies Professor soon.
The Healer moved back to the set of compasses, and he picked up the one in the middle. "I'd go with this." he said as he turned it in his hands examining it carefully...and shook it a bit to give him the true north. Each piece of equipment that was laid around was looked at not only by River but also herself. She might not have known what everyone of the items was but most she did. Some caught her eye and she picked them up to get a closer look before setting it back down again. "Exactly," she agreed laughing softly. All the hormones and teenage angst that's going to be happening. Sure she had had her crushes and such back in the day but she hadn't been truly in love until after Hogwarts and that was a time she choose not to discuss. Camilla laughed softly. "That sounds like fun actually, however I'm sure I'd be terrible at it unless there was things I could transfigure."
His Ravenclawing about things he liked didn't at all bother Cami. In fact it was just the opposite. He was sounding a lot like Kay right now with this talk of muggles though. "I'd have to once again agree with that. A lot of their items are rather interesting." Mostly the technology like televisions and such. "That I really wouldn't know but being a muggle professor I'm sure she has a lot of things lying about somewhere."
Camilla smiled warmly as River selected the compass of his choice, the one in the middle. "It's lovely. Do you plan to use it on your travels or unexpected adventures?" They had spoken about their travels before so she knew it was something he did a great deal of over the years just as she had. Hmm? Cami glanced around once before shaking her head. "Oh, no, not today. Thank you though." She appreciated his interest in what she might have liked as well as his own interest in things.
