The Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom looked as it usually did: devoid of any unnecessary items such as desks, chairs and most other pieces of equipment you'd find in a normal classroom. In fact, the only things that made this rather empty room look like a classroom were Professor Hirsch's desk and the large blackboard that sat behind it.
Looking around the room, you'll find that it was filled with the usual items you'd see in Professor Hirsch's class: mats and cushions were scattered around here and there, filling up most of the classroom floor but with enough space to walk between them. Don't worry, they're quite comfortable to sit on.
Something that might catch your eye is what happens to be on Professor Hirsch's desk. A number of musical boxes have filled up the desk, ranging in both size and style. Each musical box is different in both the dancing figure that sits inside as well as the musical chimes that ring out when you open it. Confused? The board might give you some clue as to what you can do with them...
Quote:
Feel free to pick up a musical box before you go and sit down. There should be enough for one per person. You may play with it as much as you want before the lesson starts.
Something else near the desk? Hirsch himself, of course! The man was standing next to the desk, arms crossed across his chest and looking as cool and collected as he usually did. Behind him, stood a number of dummies that usually stood in the Training Room or the Duelling Arena and looked pretty normal for now.
So come in, grab a seat and wait for the lesson to start.
OOC: Please make sure you're familiar with Hirsch's rules as well as the SS site rules before posting. Class will continue tomorrow (late eveningtime GMT) Class has officially started but you're more than welcome to jump in if you want to! Just pretend as though your charrie has been there the entire time. Hope you have fun! ^^
"Oh, come on!" Was Matt's first reaction when they were told they would practise the Silencing Charm on their music boxes. He had JUST made the song super cool and Michael Jackson-y! Matt didn't WANT it to stop playing, this was quality stuff!
The Gryffindor looked around and as everyone started working on said Charm, he... started using other Charms on his music box.
Slowly transforming the ballerina into a Michael Jackson lookalike! RAH!
With her wand in her hand she pointed it at the music box and made the right movement after checking it while reading her notes one last time and she spoke the spell, slow but with a clear voice. “Silencio” but while she did it she… Sighed. Nothing happened at all! The unicorn was still making small circles inside the music box and the music was still playing. Hmm, this wasn’t what she wanted! Yes, she knew that the spell was difficult but she at last had hoped that SOMETHING would happen! Looking slightly frustrated she pointed her wand again at the music box and she repeated her previous wand movement, exactly following the instructions “Silencio” she said again, for the second time but again… Nothing! “STUPID!” She snapped and she made a irritated movement with her wand in a random direction and… One of her still empty parchments started to smolder and a slight smoke appeared! Quickly she slammed with her hand on the parchment to make sure that no fire would appear and then she sighed. Stupid. STUPID! Looking quickly at the professor to check if she had been seen she felt slightly worried because… She was a second year now, she couldn’t act so stupid!

Cassie was listening as Professor Hirsch responded to the suggested ideas as well as her own, her head tilted in concentration as he went on a thought that correlated with hers before apologizing. Curious…no apology necessary, especially since he agreed with her and complimented her as well. “It’s alright,” she answered quietly, accepting the apology regardless before he moved on to others and their answers.
And now for the practical…the music boxes now making more sense. They were a target for a spell that would certainly help against an erkling to some extent. The Ravenclaw copied the silencing charm into her notes before taking out her wand. Cass proceeded to practice the wand movement, the harder of the two pieces of the spell in her opinion.
Semi-circle to the left…flick downwards.
Semi-circle to the left…flick downwards.
When she felt somewhat confident, the fourth year opened up her music box. A pretty song almost immediately began while the pure white unicorn that resided inside moved as if to the music. "Silencio!" she cast, incorporating incantation and wand movement together with no result. The music still played and the unicorn still moved.

Thank you." She appreciated Professor Hirsch being so kind and helping, but she was also slightly embarrassed. Didn't see everyone else feeling sick at the mention of gruesome topics. Isa was easily disgusted by gruesome thoughts, but the feeling would probably pass once they had moved on to something else in the lesson and after drinking some water. If she still felt sick later she might go to the Hospital Wing, but for now she would stay here.
When the class moved on to practicing silencio, Isa was relieved that for the moment there were no gruesome discussions. She wasn't feeling up to trying, the spell yet, but if the nausea subsided she would practice it. For now she was trying to direct her thoughts away from the topic of children being eaten and the accompanying imagined visuals. Silencio. Not at all disgusting in any way, just a useful defensive spell. That was it, think of something else to avoid making herself feel any worse. Isa jotted down a few notes about the spell, although she really wasn't feeling like doing much right now.
A part of him wanted to tell her that this was Defence Against the Dark Arts and no light topics were discussed in this classroom but the other side, the side that was made softer because of his profession, started feeling bad. She was only twelve, after all.
Without saying anything, Hirsch took out his wand and silently conjured up a small goblet that was then filled up with water. He then held it out to her and whispered in the same tone as before, "Drink up. You don't have to take part in the main activity if you don't want to." After all, he didn't want to make her feel even worse than she probably did.

While the class were practising the spell, Hirsch wandered around between them, noting just how quickly some of them seemed to be at getting the spell right. Huh. Maybe he should've suggested non-verbals, instead.
As for the younger kids, there was a mix. Some seemed to get it right sooner or later while others........... well. Green eyes landed on Miss Griffel in particular, who seemed to want to start campfire in the classroom rather than silencing her music box. "Eaaaaasy, Miss Griffel. Take some deep breaths, concentrate and try again." Getting angry wasn't going to help.[/COLOR]
When it looked like most of the class seemed to have the spell under control well within the fifteen minute mark, Hirsch called for order by letting out a small whistle. Because of how empty and spacious the room was, the whistle resonated and seemed to bounce off of the walls. Useful, wasn't it?
"Okay, listen up, everyone! There's no use practising a spell without putting it into proper practice so we're going to move onto the main portion of the lesson." Something he had been pretty excited about but was now slightly concerned about. Circumstances. "Firstly, if everyone could pack up their things and move it towards the front of the room and against the wall or my desk, that would be great. You can place your music boxes there as well." Otherwise it was going to get trampled on.
While they did so, the man was just going to continue talking. The sooner they got this started, the better. "This..... is going to be a pretty heavy task so if anyone in here," Particularly Carlton, Rooney and Henry. "don't want to take part, you can come up to my desk and sit here, instead. I will not be offended in the slightest."
"For the rest of you, I have a battle in mind where we're going to use......" Cue a dramatic pause in which Hirsch turned around and flicked his wand towards the dummies that were present. Immediately, they started shrinking and changing shape so that they looked more and more like evil house-elves than their usual blank selves.
"..... Erkling!Dummies!" Should he wait for some kind of reaction? Yes? No?
"Your task? To defeat them. Get into four or five small groups and work together on this task. As a team. They'll try and lure you towards the right hand side of the room. Resist them and use the spells we mentioned before. If you don't, you'll be stuck on the wall until someone comes to save you." Which, surely, no one wanted to have happen to them.
"Some things to remember is that even though they look like Erklings, they're not going to devour you. They will not cause serious damage because frankly, I won't let that happen." And this was his serious face right here. "Don't be scared, you're just putting the spells you've learnt into practice in a more practical way. If, in the middle of the task, you don't want to take part, you're welcome to come over to my desk and sit the rest of the activity out. For the rest of you, the spells you need are......."

While the Erkling!dummies started moving, Hirsch proceeded to draw a safety line around the area near the front of the room where his desk stood.
OOC: Apologies about the delay! Things happened in the real world and yeah <3
The task sounds hectic but I promise you that it's super simple! Hopefully. All you have to do is defeat the Erkling!Dummies using the spells you've learnt/have brought up in the lesson. I didn't want to overload you with info about the spells but a list can be found right HERE. Or you can use the HP Wikia page as well. If your charrie wants to use any other spell, that's completely fine by me ^^
Ways to know that the Erkling!Dummy has been defeated:
- It freezes and stays frozen for thirty seconds
- It gets sucked into the ground
- Literally just set the bloody thing on fire
- If you tie it up and get it to stop moving
- Honestly, if you get it to stop moving in any way, you're the winner
If you get "lured" by the Erkling!Dummies, you'll likely be stuck on the wall on the right hand side of the room and will need to be freed:
How to be saved/save a teammate:
- Physically dragging them away from the wall
- Using Finite/any variation of Finite
- Defeating the Erkling!Dummy that did the sticking in the first place
I'm leaving the task up to you but I will be RPing the dummies themselves. Just to spice things up Please please pleasework together on this. Teamwork! And please label the title of your posts with what team you're part of: team A, B, any clever team name you want to come up with.
While the creativity license is up to you guys, please keep the DADA and general site rules in mind and please don't get your charries hurt TOO badly. I will not be a happy unicorn if that happens.
You have a little over 76 hours to complete this activity. I'll close the lesson up on 25th March at 11:59pm GMT. There is NO POST LIMIT! You will be awarded points based on creativity. Quality not quantity ^^
If you have any comments/questions/concerns, please don't hesitate in giving me a nudge <3
ENJOY!

Shorter than any of the students present and looking more house-elf-like than they usually did, the Erkling!Dummies moved out from behind the Professor and towards the nearest students. The five dummies moved in different directions but none went past the line the Professor had drawn up at the front.
They moved slowly at first, giving the students a head start but once they were close enough, they started to speed up...
Come on, students, there were only five of them, after all...

Alright the defense part of Defense Against the Dark Arts, always his favorite part of the lesson.
But he cant go it alone? Of course, given the lesson of the day, probably NOT a good idea to go it alone. He can see the dummies transform into Erklings though and he was already navigating his way to face one of them-- still from a safe distance of course.

He had only worked on the previous activity for a few moments as he had definitely zoned out for the majority of the class since shifting back to lean against the wall. This whole class was the one thing he was not yet ready to be dealing with. So when the opportunity presented itself to sit out, Rooney knew that that was exactly what he needed to be doing. Getting to his feet and ignoring everything else that was now happening in the classroom, he headed towards the desk of their Professor.
"Sir, is there anything I can do instead?" To occupy himself from the classroom antics? To continue his learning? To...do something in an environment he kind of felt safe in?
While Dora was still upset with Hirsch and CERTAIN PEOPLE, her eyes did light up a bit when she read the spell list and saw two of her favorites up there. Fire and destruction?
YES PLEASE!
The fifth year listened closely and nodded before getting up and moving her things to the front of the room as instructed. Once her things were safely put away she flicked her wrist, sending her wand sliding into her hand. THIS was going to be FUN. Or at the very least, therapeutic. Yay for DADA class... boo Hirsch .
Catching movement from the corner of her eye, the Gryffindor quickly turned, pointed her wand and with the proper wand movement said, "Incendio Tria! " BURN BABY BURN!

Leon was super excited about this task! Defeating dummies was great experience for what he would have to do out in the real world! He held up his wand and he looked at the spells on the board.. he knew all of them so this wouldn't be an issue.. he looked around as he spotted Tenacius and then grinned and tugged on Juno's sleeve to come join him..
"Hello there, mind if we join you? " the seventh year asked with a grin as he started to make his way towards one of the dummies..
"So, what do we think about silencing them first? And then after that.. work on stopping them?" Leon said with a smile.. "And no one gets left behind, we do this as a team.. okay? "

Juno grinned and followed Leon over to Tenacius. She knew Ace from Prefect-ing together. So she was sure he would be a great addition to their group.
"Hey Ace." Juno said with a grin and listened to Leon's suggestions. He always had great suggestions on spells. "Yeah silencing charm would be great and then what about Petrificus Totalus or Incarcerous to stop them?"
Juno grinned and winked at Leon with that last comment. He was always thinking about the other people. "Of course! What should our team name be?" She said looking at both boys. "Do we need to add someone else?" She said looking around at the other students.

Natalia had sat quietly throughout the lesson. She had answered at first, but the rest she sat and just listened. She took notes and practiced when it was time on the music boxes, but now it was time to find a group. She took a deep breath as she got up to move her stuff. Setting her bag down near Hirsch's desk she turned just in time to see Ace joined by two people and then Dora send fire at the dummy.
Yep her..
Nat liked her style and hoped she wouldn't mind her pairing up. "Do you mind if I join you?" She had her wand out and was ready. Turning to the dummy coming towards them Nat let all her focus go to hitting something, this was an outlet she could really use.

The blonde couldn't help but to grin a bit a Hirsch's reaction to her answer, and also she had gotten the answer right on the head. Yesss. She was going to be beaming the rest of the lesson now. Not like she was wasn't already beaming from just being in the lesson. That was enough to make her smile, and be in a good mood.
Silencing Charm
Yes, this was going to be so much fun. Silencing the music box, too bad the music from hers. She had practiced the silencing charm already a few times for dueling purposes. Though she had not yet used it in a duel. Maybe the next one if she could silence the music box then she would. She whined up the music box one more time and opened it. Doing the correct wand movement for the spell. "Silenio" The Hufflepuff watched as the ballerina slowly stopped moving and the music coming from the box stopped.
Dummy!Erklings. This was going to be soooo great. Difficult but great. Katerina gathered her things and packed them. Moving to the front of the room with the others. Defeat the dummies.... and get into groups.... gottcha. Her blue eyes glanced up at the board seeing which spells could work.
Now the erkling!dummies were on the lose. Taking her wand she was ready for this. Now she needed at.... group? Whoa did you see that? Erkling on her firah already. WHO DID IT? Kat was joining them. It was DORA. Fire and Dora. Yeah she should have known. "Hi I'm joining you too?" No questions about it.
As much as she now wanted to set these children eaters on fire too. But she would reserve that for later or some heroic save. "Orbis." Or she could just give this one so quicksand and then light it up.

"Petrificus Totalus "
Matt immediately turned away from his music box - even though it was super awesome, what with that mini Michael Jackson dancing around - and was READY for ACTION!!
BEST PART OF THE LESSON, YO!
He jumped up and kicked the music box towards professor Hirsch's desk - no time to carefully carry it, mate -, getting his wand ready and looking around at the dummies as they became pretty cool Erklings. MWahahaaha, how AWESOME!!
He did see two groups naturally forming and he also did notice one of them was more about talking and discussing tactics and how they'd go about doing things and the OTHER... was already setting things on fire.
That was his team, for sure.
"Yo, I'm joining you guys!" He told Dora and the Slytherin girl he had seen around plenty a time. "STUPEFY!" Matt LOVED having the oppotunity to use that spell. It wasn't often, but AAHH, LOOK AT IT GO! "STUPEFY!" HE WAS GETTING CARRIED AWAY.
TEAM DESTRUCTION FOR THE WIIIN! Nat, Kat, and Matt! XD
Dora had only taken a moment to enjoy the sensation of sending a fire spell. That always made her happy! YAS! Now.
Team.
Okay. The Gryffindor wasn't TYPICALLY a group work kind of person, but seeing as she was in such DEMAND at the moment, of course she was gonna team up. First was Nat, then Kat, then Matt. Hehehehe. How funny. The blonde smiled to herself as she turned to face her adoring fans. "Of course you guys can join me! Destruction and fire spells are my specialty. What about you guys? " Because that was critical to a team work thing, right? And she watched as each of them cast different spells at the dummies. YAS. Lookit that!
Team Destruction and doom! were going to be the ones to beat!
Dora totally was going to blow some things up, too.
If she wasn't so mad at Hirsch she would totally smile at him right now.
Etta shouldn't be this nervous, right? It was just a practice session, after all. In class, that too. So they were safe.. but STILL! She looked visibly anxious as she stood up, gathered her things and moved them to the front of the classroom. Clutching the wand tightly in her hand, she stared at the erkling!dummies.. they looked so real, suddenly reminding her of the twenty-four hours that she went missing.
Trying not to panic and remembering the fact that she was quite good with spellwork, she moved slowly behind a group of people. Etta didn't understand why that experience scared her so much right now.. especially when she had tried to avoid talking or even thinking about it. C'mon, Etta. Taking deep breaths, she continued walking, her wand at the ready.

Junia had moved her things to the front of the room and found herself rooted to the spot as the dummies began to change right before her eyes. It was...incredibly creepy, actually. The erkling!dummies causing the Slytherin to shiver slightly as she raised her wand and looked around for someone-anyone to help her out. Teamwork really did seem like the best way to not get stuck to the wall.
Spotting Etta on her own, Junia moved towards her. They'd been through an ordeal together already and made it out okay. Apparently they were a good team. "I've got your back, okay?" Literally. The thirteen year old stood back to back with the older girl and mentally prepared herself for the battle to come.

Well this was interesting.
She looked at the little group that formed. Interesting that they were the at group other than Dora. She watched as Dora smiled and said she was good at fire. That was obvious by her little demonstration. "I just want to beat some dummies up. Don't care how I do it. So if you have a strategy and have a spell you want me to use, just name it." She was good with anything really. As long as she got to take out some of her frustration and emotions she was game.
She watched Kat and then Matt do their best at the dummies as well. "Good job guys." They were going to win this she could feel it. The dummies had to be taken down though and they needed some good team work to do it. So once Matt sent the stupefy Nat quickly back him up by sending "Incarcerous" at it.
They could send spells all they want, but if they worked together on the same one that was wwhen they were going to rock this.
So their little group was formed now, yeah? Okay great, now that could get together and beat up on some of these dummies. Or whatever they were going to do do them. Anyway they just kind of drawn together and got straight to work.
If they all worked together this would surely be the team to beat. Team DESCTRUCTION that even sounded like a winning team didn't it?
Watching as Matt stupefied one of them, and Nat was now casting Incarcerous on the same one. Kat would finish him off and cast "Incendio" She watched as that dummy burst into flames. Yessss. Fire. Burn burn burn.
Teamwork, look what it could do.

Had Professor Hirsch lost his mind?
Letting Erkling dummies on the loose?? Sure... there were only 5 but like.... 5 children eating Erklings!! Did they actually try to bite the students?? Noelle didn't want to find out. She'd been bit by a troll before and those Erklings sorta-ish resembled trolls. Sorta.
Noelle took in her surroundings first before moving to the side. Her wand was out and ready. She watched closely as others got into groups. She nodded. Okay. How many people did Hirsch say were allowed in a group? She couldn't remember but because two teams were already taking down two Erklings, she'd start on another.
Silence them first. A voice broke into her mind. She pointed her wand at an Erkling that was nearest her. "Silencio!" She said confidently and then a quick, "Anyones welcome to join me!" over her shoulder, her wand still at the Erkling she'd shot a silencio spell at.

...and just like that, practice time was over. Brent had actually managed to silence the music box, which was perfect for him, since he didn't really like the thing anyway. He had to hand it to the professor, though. It was a pretty cool way to teach the spell. Brent packed things up and moved them to where the professor asked them to.
His eyes grew wide as Hirsch then told people they could pretty much opt out if they wanted to. Had this been Arithmancy or something, Brent would have jumped on that opportunity. This was DEFENSE class, though! His favorite! No way was he backing out! It did have him a little on edge, though. WHAT was going on?
An Erkling dummie fight?! COOL!

"What's up, Noelle? You want to fight off some erklings with me?" he asked. In other words, can I PLEASE be in your group?! He didn't really wait for an answer on that, because the erkling battle had begun, and he had to be ready! He, too, drew his wand and focused on the approaching dummy. "SILENCIO!" he said, whipping his wand around just as he'd been taught.
They probably needed another group member or two to throw in some more Silencio's to get this party started.

He then held it out to her and whispered in the same tone as before, "Drink up. You don't have to take part in the main activity if you don't want to." After all, he didn't want to make her feel even worse than she probably did.
Isa knew that this was Defense Against the Dark Arts, so she should expect that they would be discussing dark topics. However, that didn't stop her from feeling disgust when those topics came up. She couldn't help being squeamish. Isa wasn't used to dealing with these kinds of topics. Maybe she would chat with Professor Hirsch in his office later. Eventually she would have to adjust to Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson topics, but she wasn't sure how to.
She gently took the water goblet that Professor Hirsch handed to her. "Thank you." Isa gazed at the professor in appreciation. "Would you mind if I came to speak to you later?" If this was what was happening to her at all gruesome thoughts, she would definitely need to chat with Professor Hirsch about how she was going to handle classes.
For now Isa was opting to sit over at Professor Hirsch's desk. She wasn't feeling up to participating in the activity, and Professor Hirsch had told her that she didn't have to. It would be better for her to just sit down at the moment. Maybe she would practice her spell work later. Isa gathered her belongings and moved over to Professor Hirsch's desk. Grabbing herself a cushion, she sat down and slowly sipped her water. She could watch everyone else from here.

He never bought much into the belief of Erklings, but now that he can hear the dummies laugh he gotta admit that there was a strong pull to it, it was like hearing other children having a good time....

"Hello there, mind if we join you? " the seventh year asked with a grin as he started to make his way towards one of the dummies..
"So, what do we think about silencing them first? And then after that.. work on stopping them?" Leon said with a smile.. "And no one gets left behind, we do this as a team.. okay? "

Juno grinned and winked at Leon with that last comment. He was always thinking about the other people. "Of course! What should our team name be?" She said looking at both boys. "Do we need to add someone else?" She said looking around at the other students.
Good thing these two came along when they did! "Hey Leon! Hey Juno!" He listened to the spells they suggested and nodded happily "Sounds good to me." Older students knew what they were doing thats for sure. And yes no man left behind, you getting a fist pump Leon.
"I'm pretty good with Silencio, although I'd really like to try my hand at Petrificus Totalus." he hasnt had much chances to use that. He hasnt been allowed to participate in Duelling Clubs, and his Defense tutorials over the summers runs a little differently. So yes he's itiching to try this out.
He turned to face the little Erkling dummy and he could feel the cackling drifting melodiously into his ears again. Dont get distracted now "Silencio!" he said sending the spell onto the Erkling.

COOL!

The idea that the next activity was going to actually involve erklings actually seemed, well, crazy. Even knowing that the erklings were just the normal practice dummies they always targeted in lessons, Elle thought the concept was surprising. She was thankful that she hadn’t stowed her wand away again after the successful silencing of her music box. The hypothetical slencing, anyhow, as she still could have sworn she could hear its music still. It was bizarre, but she just chalked it up to Hogwarts. Probably just her distraction over everything else going on in the castle and exhaustion from studying. That was likely it.
She’d moved her belongings to the front, setting her music box carefully on top of her bag before returning to the center of the classroom to face off with the erkling!dummies either way. She wasn’t risking that, although she also was keeping an eye on the dummies as they had begun approaching. Nat had gone off to join Dora and that group, so for now she looked to be on her own. “Stupefy!,” she cast, aiming her wand at a dummy who was getting awfully close, standing her ground and refusing to let it herd her anywhere.
However, at that moment she’d heard the silencing charms from nearby and she glanced over to see Noelle and Brent. “I’ll join you,” she said, shifting to move closer to them and making sure not to lose sight of the erkling!dummies. She wasn’t against more practice of the charm. “Silencio!”

Etta relaxed a little when Junia joined her. She gave the other girl a smile, glad to team up with a friend person. "Thank you. I've got yours too." Deep breaths. Okay.. this wasn't very difficult, right? Throwing spells? She could do this. She raised her wand and watched carefully, waiting for ---- OOOOH.
An erkling!dummy. She narrowed her eyes slightly as it approached closer.. Ew. Trying not show her nervousness, she pointed her wand at the creature. Without raising her voice, she said, "Silencio!" and accompanied it with the right wand movement. Etta wanted to try out the spell anyway.. and it worked! Losing her anxiety a little, she turned to look at Junia with a small grin. "Your turn!"

CATCH UP! and wandering to Dora & Co. because we promised ^^

Derf didn't reeeeally want to think about why erklings would prefer child meat over adult...because that made him start to think about SAD things...like the fact that people ate ANIMAL meat and BABY animals. LIKE VEAL! Because it was more tender and whatever. Well..you know what was tender? HUMMUS! THAT'S WHAT! BEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!
So the first year was going to protest by remaining silent...which meant that he had plenty of time to glance around the classroom and...notice all the LOOKS he was getting from people. Gryffindor ladies to be precise. What? What had he done?! "Do I have something on my face?" he wondered aloud to no one in particular as he smushed his cheeks together and rubbed them. You know, in case there WAS something on this face.
Er...sorry there, professor. Chances were that if he heard a cackling noise he WOULD follow it. Really, it was a wonder he hadn't gone near the portal yet. But after seeing how Henry was now and how Etta had reacted...well...he couldn't betray their experiences, you know?
He would keep his goals on gaining access to the Chamber of Secrets instead!
MAGIC TIME!
Although the first year was feeling more than a bit crestfallen with the incantation. Still, he got his wand out and practiced the wand movement. Seeeeeeeeeeemi-circle to the left...and FLICK! Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeemi-circle to the left...and FLICK! Winding his music box up - he was unfamiliar with classical music so there was no humming along...yet - and gave it a listen before practicing the wand movement over it and reciting the incantation in his head. Silencio... Silencio... SilencioSilencioSilencioSilencio
Okay...maybe he could give it a go now?
.........or not. TIME TO MOVE ON!
Oh well. Chances were he would have failed at it anyway...or possibly melted the little figurine and then he would have been sad because it was a really neat carousel horse.
Getting up and clutching his wand in hand, Derf made his way over towards Dora and timidly tugged on her robes. Because he was NERVOUS and SCARED because of all the LOOKS she was giving him and she was one of the older students he looked up to, you know?
"D-Dora?" he stammered, tugging on her robes can. "CanIpleas-s-sejoinyourgroupandyounotbemadatmebecause-s-s-seIdon'tknowwhatIdidtoups-s-setyoubutI'ms-s-sorry?"
