Matt was sitting there... getting a bit bored of all the talking. He distracted himself by looking at his hot chocolate as he made the liquid spin a little inside the cup.

Some humming was in order as well.

Oh! Time for some ACTION! That he liked.

Putting the cup on the floor next to his foot, he pulled out his wand and immediately aimed for the trunk. He wasn't even going to practise, he'd just GO FOR IT and see what would happen. It wasn't like he was going to explode the classroom or anything. He wasn't THAT bad at magic!

"Accio!" He said rather enthusiastically as he pointed his wand at the trunk. Nothing happened. It took him a few seconds to realise what he was doing wrong. "Ahh, of course, of course." Wand movement, duh! He did the upside-down U motion. "Accio!"

One of the cotton balls flipped over but didn't really come to him. To be fair, he couldn't tell whether it had been his spell casting or someone else's that had caused the object to flip over either, what with so many people practising/going for it at once.

OH WELL.

"Accio! Accio! Accio! Accioooooooo!!!" It would work at SOME point, he thought. "Accio! Accio! Accio! ACCIO!" And before he realised, he had a handful of fake snowballs coming at him. "Aha! Aahh! Woops. Depulso!" Aargh! Too late. The snowballs all hit him expect for one, and that one just didn't hit him because he managed to swat it away with his wand.

Not that it hurt, lol. Far from it! Matt grabbed a few of the cotton balls and squished them in his hand.

Gaston sat behind his desk, keeping a watchful eye on his students as they practiced. There were a few minor hiccups here and there but nothing he needed be concerned about yet. It wasn't long before he saw Mr. Lewis's hand go up, and he was at the boy's side in an instant. He nodded at the boy's questions. "Yes, Mr. Lewis," he replied, "Accio can be used on people and animals. It wasn't a particularly common use for the spell, but it had been known to happen. "in fact, both of the charms we learned today can.

OOC: You still have AT LEAST 14 HOURS to do the mini activity.

Leon kept his eyes on the Professor as Juno moved her arm under his and he tried not to look down as he heard the gentle scratching of her quill oh the parchment, but as soon as her quill brushed over his arm, he had to look down.

He smiled at her answer and he once again wrote something quickly down..

Running tomorrow at six? And coffee Friday night? He wrote as he nudged the paper gently towards her, before smiling as she complimented his answer. He judged her back and smiled warmly as he listened to what they were going to do next!

Ohh! Accio and Depulso the big cotton balls! Sounds super fun!

He stood up and grinned as he held out his wand. Did a U shape and said "Accio Snowball!" He grinned as a snowball flew towards him and instead of banishing it.. he let it hit Juno!

Oops?

Well she could picture it a little more better now. Slowing down the truck first would be helpful though. Maybe if it was something smaller than a trunk it would work better too. She gave him a small mile back. Still proud of her self for her different answer. Ah yes, the banishing charm. That one was the one. Yep you are not really banishing it, your pushing it away from yourself.

Depulso!

She had practiced this one many many times. She watched as the parchment flew to the other side of the room. Now moving on the next question. It was funny how, her answer to the first question was actually better for this question, so raising her hand again. Carpe Retractum, Works better this time around." She smiled, again.

Accio!

Another one she was fairly familiar with. She could do accio, and depulso pretty good, Henry and her had practiced banishing charms together once, and he had helped her get really good with it.

And now for her favorite time in every class, the practical exercise part. She got up with her wand and pointed toward the snowballs. Making the upside down U shape. "Accio snowball." Focusing on the snowball coming at her. Within seconds one of the cotton snowballs was flying toward her, instead of ducking out of the way she reached out and grabbed it.

The force of the snowball spun her around. Weeeee.

Placing the snowball on the desk next to her she pointed her wand making the correct wand movement, "Depulso." She watched as the snowball merely rolled off the desk. If it had been a real snowball there would have been a big splat.

Sooo the activity begins!

Etta grinned excitedly. The activity part of the lesson was always the fun part! She quickly took down the notes, stood up and pulled her wand out from the bag. Okay, so what was the wand movement again? An upside-down U movement for Accio. Okay, got it.

The girl practiced the wand movement first. Alright.. and now the spell. "Accio." The girl repeated it a few times before she felt ready enough. She closed her eyes and concentrated for a moment before pointing her wand towards the general direction of the snowballs. "Accio!" Her eyes widened slightly as she watched the snowball hurtling towards her! She caught it with her free hand and placed it on her desk, super glad that it worked. Next, Depulso.

Nat had been listening throughout the lesson. She had just been staying quiet because she truly didn't feel she needed to answer when everyone else was hitting it right. So she sat and took her notes and watched the other's as they spoke. Plus with her WADA audition coming soon it was good to keep her vocals restest.

As she sat and listened to the directions her eyes went to the trunk. So there was just ball in it? Well that wasn't too scary. She could handle this pretty easily. Getting up from her seat and making sure her wand was out she did the movement, "Accio ball" watching as one came flying at her she easily pointed her wand, "Depulso" and watched it go right back.

Juno looked down when he slipped the parchment towards her. She grinned, and then moved her arm under his again to write out her answer. 'Sounds great to me!' She felt a little flutter in her tummy. This was her first official date. She was so nervous and excited...but mostly nervous. Esme was going to have to help her with outfits.

YAY! Now they got to play with snowballs....well not really snowballs it seemed but they would do! She hoped she could get the two charms proficiently enough that she could summon and banish one back and forth without missing a beat...kinda like a yo-yo.

Juno was just about to say her incantation when a fluffy white thing hit her right in face. She gasped a little then looked over at Leon and raised her eyebrows. She saw that fake little innocent face. She grinned evilly at him, "Oh really, sir?"

She drew her wand, drew and upside down U in the air, "Accio SnowballS!" She accentuated that S, making sure the spell did exactly what she wanted. A dozen snowballs flew towards Leon, the pile heading right toward his chest.

Take that cute boy!

Moving on to the next charm. "Depulso." Etta muttered, pronouncing it carefully before she practiced the hand movement a couple of times. This was going to be a little more difficult since the snowball had to go right into the trunk. She pointed her wand at the snowball, squinting her eyes in concentration, said "Depulso!" and accompanied it with the required hand movement.

..... And she watched expectantly as it zoomed but ended up landing somewhere near to the trunk. Well, that was close. She probably just needed to practice a few more times.

It hadn’t been that Elle didn’t know the answers to the questions being asked. She merely hadn’t felt the need to repeat answers others had given before her, and it seemed as if Nat had the same idea. Besides, she had confidence in her own skills when it came to Charms, especially the easy ones like the two they were practicing. All the activity announcement had done was remind her of her talk with Professor Vance in the greenhouses, over if she’d learned the bandage spell from Professor Marchand. That didn’t stand to reason that she didn’t understand why they were discussing and practicing the charms, though. The younger students weren’t as familiar with them, after all, and she’d found herself watching them for a few moments.

She had dodged to the side of a few errant ‘snow’balls as she got ready to practice, however. Whether or not she knew they weren’t really snow, she didn’t particularly want to get hit. Readying her wand, she faced the trunk. “Accio snowball!,” she cast, moving her wand in a small upside down U formation as she visualized a ball coming toward her. Shortly afterward, her vision became true as one of the fluffy white balls had started moving in her direction, only to change paths as she’d suddenly swept her wand away from herself. “Depulso!”

UGh.

Kicking the ball, just slightly after hitting the floor. She looked at the snowball, focusing on it, and doing the correct wand movement, "Depulso!" She done a happy dance watching the snowball fly across the room.

"Accio snowball" She watches as the snowball stopped in mid-air, and zoom back to her. "Depulso!" Just for the fun of it, aiming it back toward the trunk. That went right into the trunk.

She should still practice some more while she still had some time to practice before the lesson moved on.

Oh, balls in the trunk. Merlin, that was good news. It would have been horribly sad to cast spells on creatures, but now that she knew it was just a ball, it was a little disappointing. Katy pulled her wand out of her holster and fiddled with it before taking up a practice stance.

She wanted to make sure she had the motions and incantations PERFECT before casting... otherwise, what if she ended up banishing a person. Or her own shoe. Or failing altogether, which was even worse.

The incantations were easy enough, and she mouthed the words while practicing the wand motions. Easy easy easy peasy. "Accio." One of the balls zipped out of the trunk... and hit her right in the head. OUCH. Merlin. Idiot move.

"Accio" She brought another snowball towards her. This was fun and all, but there had to be a way to get it to be a little more exciting. Glancing around the room she smirked a moment and twisted a bit. The snowball was coming at her and she pulled her wand movement, "Depulso" The ball headed back to the trunk.

"Accio" bringing another out she made sure she was ready for this one and quickly, ""Depulso" but instead of sending it towards the trunk she sent it towards Katy. "Watch out!" She might have said it a bit late, though, sorry Katy, but she was trying to have some fun and was hoping it would start a ball fight.

Brent didn't chime in on that last question, but he was listening. His head turned from one direction to the next as he listened to what his classmates had to say. The answer was pretty obvious, he thought. He even knew how to cast Accio, as it had been one of the first few he'd mastered.

Brent watched as the trunk was opened, revealing a ton of snowball-like objects. COOL! He bounced to his feet and turned to face the snowballs, ready for an all-out epic battle with them. This was what he was talking about!

He quickly pointed his wand directly at one of them. "ACCIO SNOWBALL!" he called out, making sure he was looking right at the one he wanted and that his wand was pointed right at it, too. It came flying right toward him, earning a grin from Brent. "DEPULSO!" he called out, sweeping his wand. The snowball came to a screeching halt and headed right back to the trunk.

An activity! Olivia was super excited. She always preferred lessons when they got to do little activities to practice the theory that they were learning during class. Alright, first notes, then activity. She sighed. She'd need all of this in a few minutes as she wasn't always the quickest with her memory. Hmm.. Olivia jotted down in her notebook the proper way to cast accio. Make an upside down U, point the wand at the target, and say ak-key-oh. That made sense. Mhmm.. Now for more notes. Depulso.

Activity time! The main event. Oh boy! So they were using the summoning charm to make the balls come back to you and then the banishing charm to send them back? That sounded simple enough, right? It'd be like a game for her. That was the best way to think of it! This excited her greatly. She took a deep breath and made an upside U shape with her wand whilst pointing at a snowball, "Accio snowball!" The snowball came zooming towards her. Ah not the face! Fortunately, Olivia brought her hands up in front of her face and the snowball met her hands. That was close... Brrr... Cold hands now. Cold hands. She shivered, rubbing her hands together and blowing warm air on them. Alright. Try again.

"Accio snowball!" she said as she moved her wand in an upside U-shape. Then she promptly followed it with a sweep of her wand, "Depulso!" The snowball went flying back towards the trunk. Awesome! She smirked and quickly cast another Accio before the snowball headed back to the trunk and then followed it with another Depulso. Hehe. She'd have quite a bit of fun with this. She wondered how many times she could send it back and forth like a tennis ball or ping pong ball.

Yeah...what she had thought AFTER she had asked her question. Cassie simply nodded in response to the professor's comment just wanting to put the idea behind her and get what they were truly going to be working on. That was far more interesting the any of the guessing going on before or after so the Ravenclaw went back to listening. She wasn't one of those know-it-all Ravenclaws, that was for sure.
Banishing charm...

Why hadn't she thought of that?!

Not quite the vanishing charm but still got ti away from you which was what you wanted after all. She took it down into her notes for later reference, randomly adding accio which she was already familiar with in for good measure. Accio and depulso...summoning and then banishing. Easy enough of a thought process, one just needed to focus. On the right target. Cassie surely didn't want the whole trunk of things to start coming at her due to her summons. That would most definitely be bad.

Practicing wand movement first to prepare her wrist, the fourth year than added the incantation, her gaze intent on one of the snowballs. "Accio!" she cast as her hand and wand made the upside-down U shape. There was movement if her eyes didn't deceive her but not enough to get it making the move towards her. "ACCIO!" she cast again, using a bit more ummph in her focus and trying more smoothness in her wand movement. Sure enough, it worked!

Abey would forever continue to deny that he was a Gryffindor probably, but the mention of a black hole charm made his big brown eyes light up in the way that was truly reminiscent of a Gryffindor when faced with a dangerous adventure. THAT charm sounded COOL, and Abey WANTED TO TRY IT. Or at least SEE it in action. He had a reeeeeeeeal hungry look in his eye, even as Professor Sir moved onto the next student. At that moment though, Abey also caught the eye of an older student, a girl from Gryffindor house, who was looking at him all smiley and everything. Abey smiled back, because of course, and gave a half-shy little finger waggle of a wave to wordlessly say hello. Because manners.

Okay, look, it was all well and good having that stuff written up on the board, but Abey didn't pay it even the slightest bit of notice actually. He had what he needed from when he heard the Professor saying the proper incantations, and showing them the proper movements. As they were all demonstrated, Abey mouthed the words along with him and moved his own hand to mimic those wand movements, and then fidgeted in his seat until they were allowed to get going.

Whiiiiiich didn't take long at ALL. So, Abey set down his now empty mug, and withdrew his wand, ready to get started.

Accio first obviously because that was the one he would need to use first in order to practice the other one. That was logic. There was no point in practicing the incantation and wand movement on their own first either, not in Abey's opinion. He could do all that while actually trying to cast the spell, and he'd know it was right when it worked. It was time efficient and also Abey was impatient to get moving.

"Accio!" With that same wand motion that the professor had done - which sort of looked a little bit like drawing a strangely-shaped hill - Abey attempted the spell, his eyes on the contents of the trunk. Naturally, considering he was a first year who had never attempted this spell before, nothing actually happened actually. He clicked his tongue and turned the laurel wand over in his hand. Perhaps maybe if he focused on a specific ball to summon his way, rather than on the general insides of the trunk? It made it a little more difficult that way because everyone else was summoning from the same place too, but it might also make it easier because he was aiming for something specific.

"Accio!" He tried again, wand motion and all, with his eyes fixed on just ONE of the snowballs. But stiiiiiiill nothing. HMMmmmmmmMMMMmmmmMMMmMMmm.

Abey paused for a while, and paid attention to what was going on around him, looking to the other, more experienced students for guidance, particularly the successful ones. By observing others, he started to notice a slight difference in his own pronunciation of the spell, and the way everyone else was saying it. While they were all saying it like 'AK-ee-oh', his own pronunciation was closer to 'EK-ee-oh'. It was very very veeeeeery subtle, but it was there, and apparently it made all the difference. Perhaps an accent thing, maybe probably. Mama had said that that might happen. Or perhaps just an Abey thing.

Also, Abey had noticed that some people were saying 'Accio' and others were saying 'Accio Snowball'. Did specifying make it easier to summon the thing? Perhaps he would experiment with the two, and try saying the 'snowball' part next time. For now, though, he wanted to focus on the one-word method, especially as he was having trouble with that one word.

But now he knew what he needed to be careful about in his pronunciation, and though it felt a little unnatural to make that 'ACK' sound, Abey would try his hardest to try and force it. In time, it would become more natural, and Abey knew that because that was another thing that Mama had said to him.

Raising his wand again, Abey tried for a third time to attempt the spell, focusing on the one snowball again.

"Accio!" This time, something DID happen. Abey saw it; the snowball he had been staring at DEFINITELY zoomed towards him. Or, at least... it started to. Abey's heart leapt as he saw it start to fly towards him, only for him to blink in confusion as it suddenly changed course and moved off in the direction of another student.

... Oh. Well. Okay. That was okay. Someone else had been aiming at the same target, and of course their spell was stronger. Well... that was okay.

........ It WAS okay, actually. Because did they see? It had started towards ABEY at first, which meant that Abey's spell had actually totally completely absolutely worked. Abey perked right up at that thought, though he maybe sort of had possibly actually MAYBE been starting to get a little disheartened. But he could do this.

Come onnnnnnnn, snowball! "Accio!" Fourth time's a charm! (Haha, get it?! A CHARM.) (Though actually the third one had technically sort of worked too.)

The snowball, summoned by Abey, had indeed soared right towards him. Again, it didn't totally actually reach him, but this time it didn't fly away, it only dropped onto the floor halfway towards him. Nearly nearly nearly! One more time, with feeling! "ACCIO!"

Finally eventually at LONG LAST the little snowball made of some kind of cotton wool was adequately summoned by Abraham Botros Jr., and it flew right into his waiting hand. Abey, naturally actually, SQUEALED in delight.

Leon grinned as her as he tried to hide his nervousness, he had never really been in a date before and he didn't want to mess it up! Especially with someone like Juno! He had never met anyone like her before in his life. So he really wanted to do this right.

Maybe he could ask her sister what sort of flowers she liked?

Anyways..

He grinned at her as the snowball hit her in the face and he put on an innocent smile..

Only to have his grey eyes go wide as she accio'd not one but a dozen of the things straight towards him!

"Oh challenge accepted! " He said as he gave the appropriate sweep of his wand and said "Depulso!" to the incoming barrage..

His spell only managed to knock a few back towards chest before the rest of them hit him squarely in his stomach..

He laughed and smiled at her.. "Well played Lady. "

Still looking irritated she vowed herself to NOT let this happen again and to be ready during her third try. So when she raised her wand again she was ready! “Ak-key-oh!” She said and this time she was carefully with the way HOW she pronounced the spell because, well… She didn’t wanted to have the snowball flying at her again with such a speed… No, this time she was more careful and even the movement she made with her want was careful and precise! Again, the snowball flew toward her, leaving the trunk and… Luckily the snowball wasn’t flying that fast this time! Good, good… Determined to prove herself she spoke the next spell again, “de-PUL-so!!!” Making a sweeping movement she looked concentrated at the snowball, wanting it to fly back this time but if not, then she was prepared to duck away this time. A smile appeared on her lips when she saw that the snowball suddenly turned around and… It flew back! The second year clapped in her hands for a few seconds and the failure from before was already forgotten now!

Oh, the Head Boy had given the exact same answer. Olivia's face fell just a little bit, apologetic that she'd not heard him; as well as the possibility of him thinking that she might've purposely copied him. See, this Gryffindor was a firm believer in individuality. She'd always try to go in a different direction, unless there was no alternative options. Alas, sorry about that Colt. She'd be more vigilant and mindful to already given answers next time!... And hopefully less distracted. One must always work on themselves, right?

...And the smol Gryffindor boy had been noted. 'Ello, young sir.

......Anyway, they were going to be Summoning and Banishing today, which she found helpful; given that her Summoning charm was usually spot on, but the latter was a bit of a mess. Honestly. In the before time, Olivia would've blamed this solely on not knowing which alternate location to pick, since it wasn't like the Vanishing spell, which was considered Transfiguration (and therefore, evil).... but now? It was really going to come down to her concentration and intent. Hopefully, the migraine starting to blossom at the base of her skull wouldn't cause too many problems..... Wait.... There was another wand motion for Accio?

Quietly putting her mug to the side, Liv added the alternate wand movement in her notes; right beside what she liked to call the "rainbow arch". Unlike Depulso, Accio was one of her strongest spells. She knew how to cast it without a moment's thought or hesitation. So, it was neat that there was more than one way to go about it. Maybe the upside-down 'U' shape would be easier for others to grasp. But then again, Liv supposed Accio was one of those spells that really only needed strong and decisive wand!pointing to be effective. Perhaps the exact wand motion just wasn't that important. One of the few spells she could say this about...

Shrug.

Putting her belongings off to the side, the Gryffindor joined the others in their practice (at her own pace, mind). Was there really any reason to rush? They were in a closed space. Nothing was going anyplace. Also, Olivia would remember to thank Gaston later for the use of cotton balls. Just in case she flubbed banishing one and it connected... It wouldn't cause any further damage. And actually, they could've been compared to snowballs, sure enough, but to the blonde, they appeared more like fluffy clouds. Like when she'd been in primary school and they'd pasted them to crayon drawings; giving the effect of wispy clouds on a bright, sunny day. Those were peaceful memories, and much simpler times.... They soothed her mind and almost made her smile. ....

Kinda perfect to kickoff this challenge, right?

...And not to knock on their brilliant professor, but Liv was going to do her own thing as far as the Accio! wand motion went. It'd been highly successful for her in the past.... And if it's not broke, don't fix it, right? Right.... So, taking a deep breath, just to further relax her limbs, the blonde wiped her wand in a low arch towards the truck; using both visuals and willpower to force one of the enlarged cotton balls in her direction. "Accio snowball." In her saying of the incantation, there was no shouting or excessive force put behind her voice. She knew it'd work, and therefore just allowed the magic to do what it would do. Sometimes, you really didn't need to try too hard..... Her mum had told her that.

Just let it happen. Don't fight it....

As the cotton ball flew towards her face, the opposing side to this wasn't as easily managed. This blasted Banishing charm. Grr! "Depulso!" Finding herself calling out with the spell, Olivia quickly followed up with the sweep of her wand; trying to will her limbs to gracefully fall into the magic. It felt like a dance sometimes, you know? Actually, that might've been a bit dumb, but that's what it was like to her..... SQUINT!

... So, the cotton ball had been repelled away, sure... but not back into the trunk. It jerked around in the space before her face..and then spiked down to land on the floor at her feet. Er....

Okay, cotton ball, okay....

Scooping it up off the floor, she quickly made to put it back in the trunk so that she may try again. Never one to quit, was her motto. One that Olivia was relieved to know was still true. Backing up to rest in her original spot, the Gryffindor poised her wand, once more; shaking out her arms. AND.... TAKE TWO! With another "rainbow"equs motion, Liv barely mumbled Accio!, before the white ball of fluff rose and started making its rapid approach. Adjusting her stance slightly, she pushed her mind to visualize that trunk and the cotton ball returning safely. Not that... anything was unsafe for a cotton ball. Except for fire...

"Depulso!" With a determined glint in her eyes, she swept her wand out again...... only to be suddenly hit by a wave of dizziness. Ugh... Naturally, with her mind distracted, the cotton ball did NOT return to it's home in the old trunk.... But thankfully, the momentary dizzy spell wasn't meant to last. It was mere seconds... and reminded her that she needed to have a bit of tea. So... that's exactly what she was going to do. Slipping back to her bag, the blonde dug around for her personal thermos, twisting off the lid quickly. Just a few sips... and she'd be ready to try again.

Etta had to practice the banishing charm again, okay. She had to do it until she got the snowball into the trunk. She just paused for a moment as she observed all the people around her. Yes, most of them definitely seemed to have a problem with their snowball flying back to the required destination. At least, she wasn't the only one.

She cleared her throat, pointed her wand at her snowball and poked at it. "You better go into the trunk this time, okay?" She muttered.

3...2..1.

"Depulso!" Etta said clearly with the necessary hand movement and watched as the snowball zoomed, wavered a bit over the top of the open trunk for a moment before simply dropping into it. FINALLY. She felt a liiiiiltle proud of herself and resumed practicing again. Practice makes perfect, yes?

Carlton's eyes widened in excitement. They could actually use accio and depulso on people? Magic just got better and better for each passing day. "That's neat, professor." He would remember that. He had more questions though, what about using the spells on himself? Could he point the wand at himself, use depulso and be swooshed away across the room? He could depulso himself all the way up the astronomy tower!

It would be tested.

But for now, he got out his wand at began practising the two charms. He would ask Rooney about depulso-ing himself after class. Better to ask what Roo thought before doing anything stupid.

"Accio snowball!" The tutoring twice a week with Roo must have payed off since the cottonball he'd aimed his wand at started to levitate towards him. Not all the way to him but at least it got out of the trunk.

Carlton beamed. "Woo!" Again, again, again. It took him three tries to get it all the way to his feet. He bent down picked it up, squished it for good measure and then put it down on the floor again. He glanced over at the board for the correct wand movement. "De-PUL-so, not de-pul-SO." He murmured, aimed his wand at the cotton ball on the floor and did a sweeping motion with his wand. "Depulso!"

Well. It moved alright. Across the room to land in a corner. Carlton sighed and went after it. He didn't want to use Accio to accidently accio someone else's snowball and ruin their practise, so he ran across the room, dodging the flying snowballs that went in and out of the trunk in the middle of the room.

"Sorry, escuse me, I'm just gonna- Yeah." He reached his cotton ball, and gave it a small glare. "Why'd you do that for? The trunk. You're supposed to go into the trunk." Now listen. "Depulso!" It flew away from him, connected with another snowball in the air, changed directions and landed in the trunk.

Did... Did that count? Carlton looked around him, uncertain at first than feeling just a little bit smug. It had gotten into the trunk after all. Maybe not the way that professor Marchand had wanted it to but it had moved out of the trunk and now it was inside it again. He figured this was a mission completed.

Carlton balanced on the balls of his feet, looking rather smug. "Did it." He murmured to himself. 750 points to Slytherin!

He picked up his ball from the ground where it had dropped and moved on to the next spell, the Banishing Charm. "Depulso, de-PUHL-so, Depulso..." He said to himself. He then practiced the wand movement, making a sweeping motion with his wand.

The Hufflepuff aimed his wand at the ball in his hand and "swept" his wand in the general direction of the trunk. "Depulso!" It flew away from him and landed on the ground a meter away from the trunk. That wasn't good enough. He decided to try again. "Accio snowball!" He drew an upside-down U shape with his wand and the same ball returned to his left hand. This time he managed to catch it properly! Concentrating hard, he did the sweeping motion aimed at the trunk and said, "Depulso!" The ball flew across the room and hit the edge of the trunk... before plopping inside.

With a smile, Carl continued practicing until he felt confident with the spells.

Okay, Char wasn't MAD at the activity exactly, but she hadn't begun and was already bored by the idea simply because she was pretty cool with both of the spells already.

....

..... though that was kind of a first? Yay! Milestones! Was this TRUE evidence that she was officially one of the older kids now? Idly, Char 'practiced' the wand movements, which was really not so much practice as actually doing them with that kind of comfortable knack that suggested she wasn't about to have any trouble at all. Upside down U... waaand sweep.

Upside down U... waaaaaaaand sweep. Except really, Char's upside down U was more of a half circle, not with extended sides. You had more control over it if it was a half circle rather than if you dragged it out. It was kind of nice knowing something like that actually, for a change!


"Accio!" Char summoned one of the puff balls, wand arcing into that upside down half circle, and caught the cottonball with her free hand. Then she tossed it up in the air a bit in front of her and, "Depulso!" A sweep of the wand and the puffy ball was shooting right back to the trunk.

With accuracy, which would have been more exciting if it was ACTUALLY her first time doing them, but it wasn't. These were every day spells in her arsenal.

With her initial mistake ironed out, Sinead's Summoning Charm seemed to go without incident; the snowball zoomed neatly towards her, not even directed at her face but instead at her chest so she actually managed to catch it. A small miracle in itself.
Achieving accio was only half the battle, though; and depulso had the added catch that aim was necessary. Well, this could be interesting... but she'd never get anywhere if she didn't at least try. She carefully held the snowball on a flattened palm at arm's length and intoned the spell with all the gravity she could muster, willing it to land back in the chest.

Her aim was off- the ball wasn't on the other side of the room or anything, but it was clearly about to land about a metre short of the chest. Her face creased in frustration and she fisted her hands in a sudden spike of annoyance- why couldn't it just go right? Wasn't casting in the first place meant to be the easy part?
As she moved, though, her wand seemed to jump in her hand, unbidden by her, and the ball executed a bizarre sideways hop through the air to fall neatly onto the top of the pile.

Oops. Unintentional magic was embarrassing; that was what emotional, untrained kids did when they didn't get their way. But equally, she had accomplished the task at hand, so she wasn't exactly sure whether that made it a good thing overall or not...?

Whatever the case, she wasn't going to improve any further without additional practice, so she flexed her grip on her wand a few times and cast once more, determined to perfect her aim as well.

He couldnt help but smile proudly the way the Professor responded to his answer. But indeed the other spell was Accio-- and wait they get to basically shoot hoops today with those snowballs? Haha perfect!

The Curly Top got up, stretched his legs and got his wand out. First he needed one of them snow balls "Accio!" he said as he pointed at the trunk and a snowball flew at him, then caught it with his other hand. Now to shoot some hoops... errr the trunk "Depulso!" Off goes the snowball into the trunk.

"Score!!" he beamed double fist pumping the air.
