| | Barnabus the Barmy
An old moving tapestry depicts Barnabas attempting to train trolls for the ballet. Don't laugh too hard, now; the tapestries' occupants are easily offended.

| For Izzy! ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Now that Katherine didn't study that much anymore, she could actually appreciate the beauties of the castle, like this one tapestry. Sure she had looked at it, but she had never seen it. It was... a piece of art? A work of satire? Or plain lack of imagination? The world would never know for sure, but she did have a few theories... while truly trying not to laugh at it, because whatever the reasons of the artist were, this was hilarious. |

Sam was walking back from the library with his bag slung over his shoulders. His bag was presently too heavy with books to attempt the more cool look of slinging it over just one shoulder, so the traditional two-shoulder carry it was. As he continued in the direction of his common room, he noticed a girl staring at that odd tapestry. Ironically, that was the very same tapestry that he caught Lucy and Saff snogging behind. He gave a curt laugh under his breath.
What was with this tapestry and attracting girls?

| ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Katherine heard some movement behind herself, so she had to stop her artistic analysis and turn around to look at the person.
A boy who... surprisingly hadn't caught her attention before, even though she KNEW he was in her year, but who should have. It was probably a case of puberty - he must have hit it, and was going through a phase of getting attractive. Well, it wasn't too late to get to know him now.
Hopefully, he wouldn't mind the head-to-toe look Katherine had just given him. "Hi," she said and smiled, "are we in the same year?" She KNEW the answer was yes, she was trying to see if HE had noticed her. |

She KNEW the answer was yes, she was trying to see if HE had noticed her. Maybe the girl had felt his eyes on her because as he neared, she turned around to look at him. Not in the eye, either. More like one of those looks you give when you're sizing someone up. Or checking him/her out.
Wait, was she checking him out?
Sam didn't really have time to come to a conclusion on that one because now she was speaking to him. "Hi," he greeted in return. And as for being in the same year.. "We are. You're in Hufflepuff." Given that Sam wasn't the most sociable person in school, he didn't personally know everyone in his year. But, he did know of them.

| ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Hufflepuff? He thought she was a Hufflepuff? She got her answer alright: He hadn't noticed her.
She raised her eyebrows and shook her head. "Katherine Moss, from Ravenclaw." But it was no surprise, given she hadn't really left the library in the past three years. "And you're in Gryffindor." Now that she'd heard his voice, she could also recall who he was - "Sam Chevalier."
Right? |

Right? Wrong? He was wrong?
Sam stared at her for a moment, surprised at himself. And here he prided himself on his powers of observation. Considering the fact that he too found himself often residing in the library, he did recognize her. So, why was he under the assumption that she was a Hufflepuff?
Maybe her greeting threw him off. All friendly and all.
"Right." Ravenclaw. And then to top it all off, she went ahead and told him his house and his full name - and got it all right.
He swallowed, pride as well as saliva, and gave a curt nod. "Yeah." Ahem. "So, what are you doing in front of this tapestry?"

| ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Katherine LOVED being right - even though the cute guy looked too embarrassed and while it DID matter that he couldn't recognise her, she wasn't going to think about it too much. She didn't want to make him uncomfortable or anything. She had been too lonely for the past three years (only 3 friends or so???) and with the situation at home, she was going to thoroughly enjoy this one. She was clever enough to get better-than-average grades without trying anyway, and that was enough.
So she grinned to show it was alright and shrugged at his question. "I'm contemplating art?" Although it... came in form of absurdist humour. "If you don't have anywhere else to be at," she cuuuuutely smiled to hopefully get him to stay, "wanna contemplate it together?" Or do something else, Katherine was open to suggestions. |

Well, she didn't dwell on the fact that he was wrong, so that was a brownie point for her. No one liked a braggart. Oh, she was 'contemplating art'? That sounded awfully sophisticated. Sam lifted an eyebrow curiously at her. She seemed different than other girls. A good different.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves. He'd only just met this girl.
He moved his jaw and looked up at the tapestry. "What theories have you come up with so far?"
In other words, yes. He'd contemplate with her.

| ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls He was staying? GOOD. Katherine knew how to impress people and so she was going to impress him too to have one more friend. Although you didn't become friends on one single day but over a time, good first impressions helped greatly. The only downside was that he was a Gryffindor... but he seemed to be the CLEVER type of Gryffindor like Callum, so that was alright. Hermione Granger and Minerva McGonagall were Gryffindors too. And anyway, if she didn't like him in the end, she could end the friendship. She was also good at that.
She turned back to the tapestry, hands folded and head tilted slightly to the left to take on the posture of real art critic. "For starters, it's absurdist," she said, as if she knew all the art history, "but it also looks like a scene from... Renaissance or thereafter, so I'd say it's also a real event. Someone truly did try to teach the trolls ballet and sewed it onto a tapestry to... lead the way for the next generation in his efforts."
Hmm? She looked at him to see what he thought. |

He could not have fun in here. Hogwarts is BOOOOOORIIIING!!! Maybe the polter-kid should do something to make this castle less dull and more fun. HAHAHAHA!!
And what's more fun that tossing dungbombs to the students?
Cackling, he floated around the castle and found the VICTIM! Ooooh, were they such a lovey dovey teenage students there? Perfect target! He casually dropped the dungbombs above their head. "OOPSIE!"
He was not sorry about that.

He was not sorry about that. Sam watched as the girl did this odd thing were she linked her fingers together and tilted her head as she examined the tapestry. Okay, she was taking this tapestry pretty seriously. His eyes diverted to the piece of art.
Absurdist? Was that really a style of art? Sam had never heard of it before. Artists were absurd and odd people in general, though, so he supposed it made sense. "I don't know of that style, but from the looks of it, I'm sure it'd fit under that category." He slid his hands into his pockets. Sam here was not an art critic, nor was he especially knowledgeable when it came to art. "I think the subject matter just caught the interest of the artist. So he, or she, decided to make it into art."
Just then, Sam felt - and simultaneously smelled - something raining down around them. His hand flew to his face to cover it as he coughed from such a rank odor. "Eugh, dungbombs?!"

| ¼ of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pls Katherine opened her mouth to answer him and explain what absurdist humour was when their intellectual conversation was ruined by DUNGBOMBS. The odour hit her nostrils as she felt one hit her in the head, and she looked up for a split second to see it was ... WHO WAS HE EVEN?! He wasn't Peeves, nor Misty????? She didn't have the time to question though, so she held his arm to run in Room of Requirement's direction to get away. "To the Room of Requirement!" she exclaimed - that was the only place this new poltergeist couldn't enter, and maybe the common rooms, but they were in different houses and the Room was closer. "Protego!" she yelled to have a little bit of protection at least. Her hair... she didn't even know what she was going to do about that apart from washing it 302 times. |

| TEHEHEHEHEHE YOU'RE GONNA LOOOOOOOOOVE ME
Miffy floated up to the seventh floor on the hunt for either her husband or her son, chewing on raspberries as she went and spitting the seeds out on the floor. That caretaker
Smelling the stink stench from dungbombs Miffy let out a high pitched *GIGGLE* in delight and excitment as she sped forward. Coming into the corridor where the tapestry of Barnabus hang the stinky stench got more intense.
Spotting her son and the two students Miffy's voice got all proud and smothery as she clapped her hands like a proud momma. "You did THIS stormie? You've done really good! This prank almost rivals one of your daddies." If only Peevies was there to see it!
Plucking a handful of raspberries into her mouth Miffy called over to the students with glee in her tone "Isn't the smell of dungbombs in the afternoon just marvelous?" *GIGGLE*

Sam was equally surprised that it wasn't Peeves. His face screwed up as the stench became more and more apparent. Merlin's beard, this better wash off easily. And suddenly, Katherine got hold of his arm and started paving the way towards the Room of Requirement.
"How pathetic!" He said as they ran off just as another stupid ghost appeared. Peeves' wifey. "They've got nothing better to do with their time!" And there that ghost was applauding her son on how great of a job he had done. Really? Really. Dungbombs were far from creative.

Did they just run away and leave? BOO!!!
Ah seriously, this is not fun. Storm was pouting and blowing raspberries to the two students who just left.
Oh look, his polter!mommy came in. "I did, mommy. But they just left and it's not fun." He pouted. Storm was not satisfied with the prank that he had just done. "Let's just leave and find other students, mommy." He floated around and left.
