Welcome to your second duel!
This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Curse Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE.

Professor Hirsch will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.
Please remember to adhere to the Dueling Club rules, the DADA rules as well as the SS Site rules.

OOC: This duel must be completed by the 15th of March by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting me about them or posting them in the Dueling Club Rules thread. If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out.
Please note that you do NOT need to keep a note of any points used, gained or lost during this duel. Simply carry out the RPG process as normal.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.
First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel.

Leon was over the moon right now. The seventh year wanna be Auror was fighting an actually Auror! Well a hopeful Auror! One who had gotten into the YATI program at least..
The tall, muscular, brunette boy was a bundle of nerves and as he smiled at his opponent and bowed he had to take a moment to still himself. He could do this! He wasn't going to hold back either!
He rose from his bow, raised his wand and pointed it near the girl but not at her! This spell was meant to distract!
"Bombarda!" Leon called followed close by.. "Incarcerous! " That one was aimed right at the girl though..
He hoped his distraction technique worked!! |

It hadn’t really been that long since she’d been at Hogwarts as a student. Just two years, essentially, yet it had felt odd to Bryony as she’d made her way back toward a room that had been rather familiar to the former Hufflepuff, now YATI for the duels that had been scheduled. At least she knew she was prepared. She didn’t think that a student would be quite as difficult to handle as an actual Auror, and she’d managed to make it through that. Besides, it was all training. Being prepared for anything that might be thrown at her, and she’d granted the tall Ravenclaw boy the gratitudes due a proper dueling partner as she’d taken her place across from him.
The slight pause had given the blonde the chance to prepare herself further, to block out any distractions. Including the explosion the boy had used to try and draw her attention away from his actions. In fact, she’d barely acknowledged it as she’d raised her wand. “Protego Maxima!,” she cast, following the shield with a nonverbal ‘Glacius Tria’ aimed at the ground near his feet. She might look unassuming, but the exterior hid her true abilities well enough

Leon knew he was be up against a tough opponent, after all this girl was a YATI! She had his dream job and he knew he still had a long way to go in order to prove himself worthy enough to be an Auror.
He watched her set up a shield to block his spell and then almost instantly the ground beneath his feet got cold and slippery!!
Eeek! Of course they would use non verbal spells! He aimed his wand at his feet and said "Henshu!" There! Now he would have more traction on the ice!
Leon aimed his wand at the girl and non verbally sent a 'Silencio' towards her before verbally saying "Impedimenta! "
The seventh year was all concentration now as he got his head in the game. | |

Her concentration hadn’t faltered. Bryony wasn’t about to let her guard down now, not when it was obvious she’d taken her opponent off guard a bit by her nonverbal spellcasting. She’d kept an eye on him as he’d realized the ground below him wasn’t exactly as trustworthy as it had been, and had silently noted the fact he hadn’t chosen to try to end her spell. Instead, he’d just upped his traction, for which she’d given him a bit of credit. Quick thinking was always a useful skill, but then she had made all her observations in a scant few moments. She hadn’t allowed herself anything longer than that, trusting that he wasn’t about to wait to react.
In fact, even given his attempt at a nonverbal, she had been completely aware of the intent. Not to mention, she let the silencing charm hit her, knowing she could depend on her other abilities. Honestly, it had been rather ridiculous given he’d already seen she could cast nonverbally. A waste of a spell, really, although she quickly cast another shield charm to bolster her previous one along with a nonverbal Fianto Duri to keep it up.
Afterward, she cast a nonverbal ‘Obscuro’ in his direction, followed by ‘Flipendo Duo’. If anything, she figured a duel where both opponents had a sensory impediment ought to be interesting. Especially if he wanted to follow the path she’d been on.

Leon was focused and was observing every movement that the YATI made, even though they were non verbal spells coming at him, the wand movement and the flash from her wand let him know that something was coming his way!
He quickly said "Protego!" To block the first incoming spell, and then he moved quickly to the left, his upped traction helping him on the ice but still not fully helping him and he slid around just a bit. Thankfully the spell seemed to go right past him!
Leon sent a nonverbal ' Incarcerous!' along with a nonverbal 'Jelly Brain jinx' He quickly got his footing and readied himself for what was to come. | |

Had she been in a serious duel, Bryony would have been more careful about her spell casting. At least, more careful when it came to reveling the spells she was using. There was a slight pang of disappointment when it became clear that her opponent wasn’t quite as willing to even the playing field in certain ways, but she shook it off nearly before it could have become visible. Not to mention the fact she was confident in her shield. Even cast nonverbally, she knew confidence was just as important in the strength of the spell, and she trusted her shield to hold up.
Plus, she had another idea when it came to making things a bit more interesting. Turning her wand on herself, she cast a disillusionment charm. Nonverbally, of course, given she still hadn’t felt the need to reverse the silencing charm he’d cast on her before. Feeling it take effect, she smiled a little. Combined with her strengthened shield charm, even weakened a bit by his spells, it ought to make things a bit more difficult on him.
Following the disillusionment, she flipped her wand around in her hand gain and cast a nonverbal Rictusempra in his direction. Adding a nonverbal Cantis seconds later. In case he managed to block the first, she hoped there would still be amusement coming.
