Welcome to your second duel!
This is a key stepping stone into determining your placement in the Hex Tournament so please take this seriously. A list of spells to use can be found HERE.

Professor Hirsch will be present to oversee the duels and will only interfere if the duel ends or any foul play or unsportsmanship-like behaviour is displayed.
Please remember to adhere to the Dueling Club rules, the DADA rules as well as the SS Site rules.

OOC: This duel must be completed by the 15th of March by 11:59pm GMT. You're required to make a minimum of 3 posts each in that time.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate in contacting me about them or posting them in the Dueling Club Rules thread. If you don't think you can post during that time or you don't think you can start/finish your duel, please let me know as soon as possible and we'll try and work something out.
Please note that you do NOT need to keep a note of any points used, gained or lost during this duel. Simply carry out the RPG process as normal.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.
First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel.

Honestly? How amazing was it that she was getting a chance to duel a future auror!? And it was Frankie Paton, who she totally knew and had always looked up to and therefore even though he was impressive to her mind, he wasn't SCARY or intimidating or anything. This would just be fun, basically! Hopefully he wouldn't hurt her too bad, she'd be doing her best.
"Don't scar me for life, Frankie! Ooops, I mean, Mr. Paton!" Teehee. Charlotte bowed and saluted and then, once the formalities were out of the way, she began, casting purple firecrackers both as an attack and a potential distractive measure, and then bewitched snowballs with ahoming charm attached.

The YATI raised an eyebrow when he saw that his opponent was no one other than Charlotte Kettleburn. The intimidation vibe that he was more than prepared to give off was clearly not going to work now. They knew each other fairly well, and Frankie was pretty fond of her in comparison to some of the other lions. The girl standing opposite him had that advantage, granted it wasn't much of one.
A chuckle escaped his lips when the girl told him not to scar her and then called him Mr. Paton. He bowed the moment she did, but, before turning away, he replied with a smirk, "Don't make it easy for me to scar you then." He walked a few steps away and then quickly added, "And that's Auror Paton, Char. Mr. Paton is my father." With that said, the adult got into position and waited to see what the fifth year lion had up her sleeve.
When the purple firecrackers started going off, Frankie resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Had he been a first year, that might have worked well enough to distract him. But he was a grown man now, vigilant, and had learned a new thing or two. His shield charms, which he quickly casted nonverbally, were also stronger than ever. The snowballs that were sent his way pelted the shield, having no effect on him whatsoever.
Not taking a moment to hesitate, the blond clicked his wand and shouted, "Avis! Oppugno!" While a flock of yellow birds erupted from the tip of his wand and darted toward Charlotte, he sneakily made use of the Doubling Charm. He hoped that the birds served their purpose as a good distraction because he really wanted to see the look on Charlotte's face when she looked back and saw three of him.

How was--ahh! Char threw a cushioning charm up, just in time too -the birds hit that and were deflected- but then there were THREE Frankies. THREE? Well. She stared for a solid second and then cast a harder spell for her, Homenum Revelio.... only the REAL Frankie was human after all, right? She pointed her wand at the first one, but it didn't go off. That one wasn't the Frankie at least! Did she have time to check another one? Nope! Needed to go on the attack!
"You're not an auror yet!"
Have some more firecrackers, Frankie!

He was tempted to laugh at the look on her face when Char noticed that there were now three of him roaming about the duelling arena. In spite of the urge, his face remained neutral to make sure he didn't accidentally give himself away. He was just going to stand there and wait for the girl to make her move.
Needless to say, he was at first impressed by it. If she wanted to know which Frankie was the real one, there were only so many tactics one could take to discovering who was fake or real. All three of him remained quite still as human-presence-revealing spell was casted. Unfortunately for Char, it was one of the faux Frankie's she had casted at. Had he not been in the middle of a duel, he would have applauded her for how she handled that rather advanced bit of magic.
But then she was at it again with the firecrackers after rubbing it in his face that he wasn't yet an Auror. His jaw clenched a little at that remark, and he was not too thrilled at her choice of repeating the exact same firecracker spell from before. Since Char was so keen on playing with fire, Frankie took that as in invitation to turn things up a notch.
Without a single word leaving his mouth, the former Gryffindor concentrated on nonverbally casting the Firestorm Charm. A ring of fire sparked to life around the fifth year and, for added effect, a cloud of dark grey smoke thanks to a simple Smokescreen Charm. He and his double steadily moved to a different location while Char dealt with the heat.

There were still two Frankies to deal with. Only one was the REAL Frankie. But before she could even think to try something else, she was under assault! And given it was the kind of offensive magic she didn't often have to deal with -wayyy too advanced for kids her own age- she only had time to focus on the defense, and not on trying to attack Frankie back. Not yet!
"Armanto!" A silver shield went up around her, this was to keep back the actual physical flames. The first thing that was necessary! And it was WARM you know? REALLY WARM. The flame freezing charm was obviously the next measure that Char had to take, to protect herself. She could manage it.... but it wouldn't be enough to take away ALL the heat so she'd be sweating. But at least not in any danger from the fire. But you know what? She wasn't going to get rid of the fire or the thick dark smoke outside of her shield right now. Maybe it'd be useful, maybe she could use it for her benefit?
"Ventus!" Charlotte cast a blast of wind, hoping to push either smoke or fire outward in whatever direction Frankie and/or his double were hiding! She wasn't silly enough to think he'd have stayed in the same spot, that was for sure.
